A Witch and Her Reapers

Rate this book
Why choose? A witch ends up with three monsters instead of one. A cruise for supernaturals sounds great, right? But the cruise isn’t the vacation I expected. Everyone finds a hookup except me, and thanks to my out of control magic, it's not safe for me to even try. All alone, I'm desperate to escape. I dive into the ocean, and a hot male rescues me from the churning water. But Javier isn’t just any male – he’s a Grim Reaper. Not only does he take souls to the afterlife, but he’s a personal guard for the Seraphim Angels, who've been tasked with guarding our ship. I’ve never fallen under anyone’s spell, but Javier has me entranced. The bonus? I can't accidentally set him on fire. But there’s a complication. Javier isn’t a lone wolf. He’s part of a team of three Reapers. Javier, Aden and Camden are a gorgeous package deal. After a lifetime alone, can I love more than one male at a time? Just as I’m ditching all my boundaries and falling for my sexy Reapers, my blissful world is shattered. I find out they’ve been hiding a massive secret from me, one that threatens to destroy us all.

I REALLY wanted to like this book!! SPOILERS!!!!!!

I would like to begin by saying that I did like the overall story idea. That is why I wanted to read the book! But I could tell early on that there was a possibility that I wasn't going to like this book, but I hoped that the author would get their footing towards the middle. Unfortunately that did not happen.
This entire book reads like a first rough draft. There is back story missing. For example, the entire supernatural world hierarchy is never explained. The separate wars are never clarified, and we get very little backstory on our main characters which makes forming a connection with them impossible. Even the overall threat is left without explanation.
There is also the issue of the entire story being rushed. I expected there to be some rushing due to the fact that this is a stand alone story. That was unavoidable, but the entire love aspect of the story takes less that a few days which is unrealistic, even for a RH book. Even for a love at first sight story everything happened too quick. The dialog was rushed and didn't read like an actual conversation between people. It felt robotic and not natural, and this made the story feel cheap and a bit ridiculous at times.
Another reason this read more like a first rough draft is the number of mistakes, and not just grammatical ( I tend to let grammar slide unless it's horribly unavoidable). There were moments that the author would lose track of who was talking, or just blatantly use the incorrect name for the character. They would forget that they had a character somewhere else in a scene and then all of a sudden they would be in the room. Or a character would have knowledge of something that there is no way they should have known, bond or no. This happened frequently enough to be confusing and a bit irritating.
As I said, I truly wanted to like the book, and I think that if they had taken time to round out the story and fix the mistakes, I would have. However, the entire thing was just written in such a horribly rushed way that I found myself reading it quickly, not because I was engrossed in the story, but to have all of the facts before coming here to write this review. I could not wait for it to be over, and instead of being able to enjoy what would have been an amazing concept to read about, I found myself focusing on the issues.
Normally I am not this harsh. As someone who enjoys writing, and has no confidence, I hate to be this person. I don't want the author to feel upset at what I have to say, but I do feel like this is something that needed to be addressed. You had such a wonderful idea for this book, and it would have been AMAZING! You obviously have good ideas, but I think you should be a little more patient when it comes to rounding out your stories. Possible have an editor look at it before publishing, because unfortunately the way this was written makes me hesitant to read another book by you.

Spoilers about one character!!!!

It was an alright read, good enough to not consider DNF. But they should have developed Camden's role in the story more. He didn't really get any part to the story till the last 25%. I would have liked to see the relationship with the other guys and Emory be developed more before the final battle in the book. It made the end kind of anticlimactic with the why-choose. But it was and ok read so if you like why-choose, grim reaper romance, fated mates, and insta-love this may be a read for you. Remember, just because it wasn't as good for me doesn't mean it can't be a good book for you! 😊

Read it if you want

This book is very poorly written. No sentence structure; no paragraph structure, and no fluidity in the story. The chapters are one to two pages, and with singular sentences basically double-spaced. Just straight facts that jump around like a squirrel that’s eaten a fermented pumpkin. As someone with ADHD (dr diagnosed, not TT self diagnosis) I’m having a very hard time keeping up with the story line. Synopsis had promise, but the book had poor follow though. This one is going on my DNF list.

Well I finished it

On a spice scale this was a 1 for me. I felt like a 13 year old wrote this. There's a mate bond so I can kind of over look the whole insta-love thing, but dear God can we stop creating a huge blow up conflict for the sake of creating a climax over a nothing misunderstanding? Also of course someone died and then was brought back to life. I can't stand these tropes.

This is Emory and the three Reapers Javier, Aden and Camden that come into her life. The story is well written with a very good storyline that held my interest throughout. There is drama, danger, suspense, twists, turns, villains and romance. I enjoyed reading their story. This is a new Author to me, I want to read more by her. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Got about 40 pages in and DNF

I’m all for a fall fast and hard but there still has to be more then I just met her and kissed her once and now she’s my world. Basically just got the ick and the plot so far was not hooking me in enough to keep me reading

loved the book

But when does she mate like consummate her mating with the third reaper? Or was that just a cliffhanger and there’s a book 2? Otherwise I loved the book just saw a little bit of missed spice.

It was a cute easy read that kept me up until 4 am! I’m thinking it’s a standalone? The plot wrapped up for the most part but I would like to read more about them.

I found this book shallow and disappointing. Not even interested in a second.
