What readers have to say about these heartwarming ★★★★★ What I can I say but, Best. Series. Ever. ★★★★★ The characters are a riot, the antics are crazy, emotions run high and the love is timeless. ★★★★★ These bear shifters will have you feeling all the feels. ★★★★★ I laughed so much while reading this series, that my stomach hurt!! ★★★★★ The characters were so real that I want to move to Burden, TX! ★★★★★ All the stories are steamy, funny, and romantic. ★★★★★ I loved this series!
There are some not good moments. I think the author did a really good job of building tension and drama for the couples to navigate, especially in the She-Shifter series, but it felt like someone would do something bad, sometimes unforgivable, but then the mate card would get pulled, there would be a kind of apology and makeup fun times. I have to be careful with how I word things or the bots won't accept this.
There were so many moments in each story, except for Wyatt's which I DNF'd, that I was like maybe this is my favorite, but then everything just got wrapped up quickly and sometimes not well, and I would be like dang, I liked those two before. I like that we get to see past couples in another story, but I didn't like that we didn't find out how Axel handled the MC gang until Luna & Pratt's story. It should have been addressed in their story, at least that he was leaving. Then Lang rejects his mate for 10 years! We had been told if mates rejected each other or were away from each other someone could be mentally or physically hurt in some way. But he had no problem marrying someone else and leaving her for 10 years? His parents weren't even mates, had actually left their mates because a marriage between them was more profitable than their mates. That just throws everything out of the window that we had been told the whole series!
There were some inconsistencies between books and series. Like Carter was an itty bitty skinny thing in her brothers story, but in hers she's called fat and over weight? Also when we are introduced to the women of Helen's Corner, I was given the impression that a lot of them were older - like 30's, 40's and maybe 50's, but then in their own stories they are around the same age - late 20's to early 30's. It was confusing.
So overall, there were a lot of stories that I couldn't put down and stayed up past my bedtime to finish. But they didn't all leave me satisfied. But it was a very nice break from reality that was very helpful to me this week.
I like each character in each story. The pairing of each couple which was different from other shifter books I've read. I enjoyed the banter between the couples. I also in joyfully connections the women had. This book had me reading well into the night to finish it. It took several days but a story a day learning about a town and very strong women was worth the time.
Bears of Burden and She-Shitters of Hell's Corner. Rejected Mates Shifter RomCom
I enjoyed this entire book. First with the men and then the women. All the angst, fears, adventures, dangers and romances of finding their fated mate. Not just finding them, but fighting for them. I also enjoyed the last chapter where the she-shifters reunited all the characters and showed their HEA's.
Grab this book today! What a combination…Awesome! With Bears of Burden, I laughed until I cried. With She-Shifters of Hell’s Corner, I sobbed so hard I could barely breathe…but such good books! Great storylines; awesome characters; amazing plot twists; and some of the beast HEAs I’ve ever read. Way to go, Candace! ❤️❤️❤️
