I picked up a copy of Pawprint Academy: Madi's Everyday Joy by CJ Canterbury because the write-up suggested that this story shared a value that I have for my own life—that of being grateful—and I thought it would be a great way to share this message with children. Indeed, this sweet story does just that.
When Lulu the dog asks Madi how her day went, she focuses on the one negative--her mom declined to buy her the Charm Bracelet Kit the kids have. Lulu suggests that Madi think of her day in terms of the simple things that brought her joy and shares examples. After Madi lists the joys she had, she realizes that joy comes from the littlest things.
I could easily picture myself sharing this story with a young child and having them apply the message—listing the things that bring them joy. What a great life practice that can be learned at a young age. A great picture book for the classroom too.

March 24, 2023I didn’t know what to get my 4-year-old niece as a birthday present and a work colleague recommended ‘Madi’s Everyday Joy’ by CJ Canterbury because she knows my niece loves dogs and she had recently bought it for her son, and I think it’s one of the best gifts I’m ever gonna give my niece!
Not only did I love the illustrations but the message of the book is very powerful. Children often think that they should get everything they want because we try so hard to do it, but it is very important to learn at a young age that there are so many other important things in life, and Madi and Lulu do an amazing job at showing this to children. Definitely, something all grown-ups should talk about with kids - and maybe to each other too.

The first noticeable thing is the book cover. It's so good! The dedication was sweet, the artwork is fantastic, and the text is easy to see, albeit it is a little small. Madi desires to get a charm bracelet like the other kids in her school, but she learns tough love when her mother gives her a hard no, especially since her birthday just passed a few weeks ago.
It seems that Madi has an unusual gift, one that others would relish to have. This makes all the difference, and sets the tone for the rest of the story. I don't want to spoil it for you; you'll have to read this book yourself. The artist did a good job of illustrating the smallest details.
I do think the book would have benefited from an about the author section at the end of the book. The book itself is solid, and since it is a short story it's perfect for kids. I wish the author would have offered a freebie as an extra for kids to dive into.

A cute story and wonderful message about finding joy in the little things around you, especially when you think things are not going your way. Madi focuses on something that gives her that horrible feeling of being left out. Lulu the Labrador helps Madi consider what's truly important in life and changes her perspective on things. A great message for all children and the opportunity to open up discussions about what truly matters.

An adorable story about a girl who "needs" something her classmates have, but mom says "no." She learns a valuable lesson from a dog, who helps her understand that it's the little things in life that bring us happiness, not material goods or being just like everyone else. I love this series
Madi and Lulu did it again! I love the Paw Print Academy books, and so do my grands. The stories have great messages for kids, and the illustrations are beautiful.
This one helps kids find happiness through discovering the small joys in life and being grateful.

Beautifully illustrated
I did enjoy Madi’s everyday joy.This is a lovely storybook and engaging from the beginning. I feel it is also highly educational as children must understand they cannot have everything they want or everything they dream off. It may sound important to have a matching bracelet but the value come from the empathetic attitude so Madi understood the message.

My girls and I loved this book. The illustrations were vibrant and cute. The story flowed so well and the message was incredibly important: find joy in the little things. After a hard day at school, we will definitely be pulling this out again.

Good book, great moral
This a great book, very well illustrates, and the morale was fantastic. In truth this is a kids book, but many adults could use and do well understanding the moral of the story. I think it should be read on a normal basis until it sinks in.
