When the cards are stacked against you, the Kings will even the odds.
Binge read the bestselling The Wild Cards series in one set!

STACKING THE DECK
Ex-Special Forces Communications Sergeant Jacopo “Jack” Constantino heads the cybersecurity department at Four Kings Security. But life for Jack is pretty uneventful—despite the exploits with his brothers-in-arms—and he finds himself longing for a little more excitement.

Be careful what you wish for.

Fitz spent the last two years picking up the pieces of his life after a disastrous relationship. After much therapy, and ice cream, Fitz leaves the fashion world behind and returns home to St. Augustine to open his own high-end salon, Hair Comes Trouble. There’s only one thing missing, or rather, one man missing, but Fitz has his doubts.

Fitz and Jack discover their connection has only grown stronger over time, thanks in part to meddling friends, but just as they start to pick up where they left off, someone takes exception to their reunion. Danger hides in the shadows, a stalker determined to keep Fitz out of Jack’s life, no matter the cost.

RAISING THE ANTE
Former firefighter Frank Ramirez has never been afraid of the heat, until it came in the form of the sweet and sinful Joshua Sterling.

Frank’s days of rushing into burning buildings might be behind him, but as the owner of one of the most prestigious gay nightclubs in Florida, he’s still putting out fires. Lately it’s been one disaster after another, making Frank grumpier than usual. If that wasn’t enough, someone is out to sabotage his business.

Joshua has a plan. He’s done pining after the man of his dreams and ready to do something about the sizzling attraction between them. He sets out to help Frank, and as executive assistant to billionaire Colton Connolly—and friend to his mayhem-magnet husband—Joshua knows a thing or two about managing chaos.

When a hidden threat raises the stakes, Joshua and Frank are put to the test. Can they win the fight for their love… and their lives?

SLEIGHT OF HAND
Former Special Forces Green Beret, Sacha “Joker” Wilder, is well-versed on the subject of demolitions. As a silent partner of Four Kings Security, Joker spends his days working alongside his brothers-in-arms and his best boy, Chip—a bomb-sniffing Belgian Malinois with sass. Years of military and private security experience have prepared Joker for almost anything, except the explosive attraction between him and Giovanni Galanos.

When Gio returns from his travels abroad, everyone is charmed by the handsome billionaire philanthropist, but in Joker’s experience, anyone who’s too good to be true usually is. Gio is hiding something, but the more time Joker spends around Gio, the more his walls start crumbling, leaving him exposed and at risk of losing his heart, something he swore he would never do. Love is for suckers, and that’s not him.

For years Gio has dedicated his life to his charity work, helping people around the globe, but when things go horribly wrong during one particular trip, Gio decides it’s time to come home for good. The desire for family, and a certain ex-Green Beret with a chip on his shoulder, has Gio eager to restart his life Stateside. For all of Sacha’s blustering and griping, no one makes Gio feel safer. If only Sacha could see how right they are for each other.

Danger lurks in the shadows as someone sets their sights on Gio, and secrets are forced into the light.

3.9 overall. This was lovely to listen to as a complete set, and I had hours of audio enjoyment. I liked seeing familiar faces from the Kings and getting to know the Wild Cards better.

In the Cards (short)
3.5/5 It was nice to see Quinn and Spencer again, as well as seeing Ace, his family, and the guys all pitch in, no matter whose wedding it was. Not sure how much sense this would make if you hadn’t read any of the other books, but it was a cute glimpse of many beloved characters.

Stacking the Deck
4/5 I wasn’t expecting quite so much time to have passed since Fitz and Jack first met, but I thought the explanation made sense (even if it would have been more sensible for Fitz to at least talk to Jack first). I liked the way their connection flared immediately back to life and how they both respected what the other person did and actually had a fair bit of knowledge about one another from their friends. (It was very clear that the interest was ongoing even when it wasn’t working out.) I like how they fit right in with the big group and how they all always took care of one another. (And I really liked that Jack took care of Fitz no matter how things were going between them personally. He’s a good person.)

Most of the tension came from the stalker plot, with only a bit of drama between the couple, which suited me well. I enjoyed the special date Fitz and Jack went on, the hints of other couples to come, playing with Chip and the baby, and the fact that Fitz is fierce and can protect himself (as well as benefiting from the King’s protection).

Raising the Ante (novella)
3.75/5 It was nice to see Frank and Joshua get their HEA. I was listening to this on audio, so I didn’t realise it was as short as it was, so the ending took me a bit by surprise. (It did make sense plot-wise, I just hadn’t quite caught up to the fact that that’s where we were in the plot, lol.) I liked Joshua’s ridiculous plan, Ace’s “love doves”, Joshua’s amazing organisational skills, and Frank being so protective and trying to give so much back. It was nice to see him take a chance. I would have liked to see a bit more time where they were communicating and things were going well for them. There were reasons for the misunderstanding, but we didn’t really get to see them actually resolve it, we had high drama instead. Would have liked a bit more of a balance for both, but I still really like them as a couple and am glad they’re together.

Sleight of Hand
4.25/5 I wasn’t totally sure how I was going to like the dynamic between Joker and Gio after the hints from the previous books, but they were awesome together! They had a rocky start and a few miscommunications, but for the most part, they were really cute. Both of them needed to figure out what they wanted in life, and I liked how they shared a lot about themselves and made their behaviour explicable. I loved Chip and Cookie and their interactions with their men. I liked how Joker and Gio both had vulnerable sides and things they didn’t want to talk about (but needed to). I appreciated how supportive the guys were—and how they were the voice of reason during the miscommunication (which I thought was reasonable given the heightened emotions and relative brevity). These two make a great couple (in their salmon pink house, lol).

Narrated by the ever-talented Greg Boudreaux, *The Kings: Wild Cards* series brings back the electric intensity, sharp humor, and thrilling romance that fans of *Four Kings Security* have come to love. This spin-off features three equally captivating stories, each blending action, suspense, and heartwarming relationships.

1. Stacking the Deck
Jack Constantino, an ex-Special Forces sergeant, is ready for more excitement—and he gets it when his old flame, Fitz, returns. Their chemistry reignites instantly, but this time, they’re not just battling their emotions. A sinister stalker lurks in the shadows, threatening to tear them apart. Jack’s protective instincts and Fitz’s fierce independence make this love story thrilling and endearing. Boudreaux nails the tension between longing and danger, making this an emotional rollercoaster.

2. Raising the Ante
Frank Ramirez, a gruff former firefighter turned nightclub owner, has a lot on his plate. Enter Joshua Sterling, the calm in Frank's storm, with his cool demeanor and charm. Frank and Joshua’s slow-burn romance is full of heat and high stakes as Frank’s business faces sabotage. Boudreaux’s performance shines here, capturing Joshua’s calm control and Frank’s fiery passion, while the plot packs a punch with suspenseful twists and tender moments.

3. Sleight of Hand
Sacha “Joker” Wilder is a tough, no-nonsense former Green Beret, but when billionaire philanthropist Giovanni Galanos returns, Joker’s walls start to crumble. Gio’s secret past adds depth to his character, and their relationship is built on undeniable chemistry. The threat to Gio’s life escalates the stakes, but their connection makes this story heart-stopping in more ways than one. Boudreaux’s narration for Joker and Gio makes this book truly unforgettable, bringing out their fiery banter and deeper vulnerabilities.

The *Wild Cards* series is a masterful blend of romance, danger, and camaraderie. Each couple is unique, and the chemistry is off the charts, whether it’s Jack and Fitz’s rekindled romance, Frank and Joshua’s tension-filled slow burn, or Joker and Gio’s passionate connection. Greg Boudreaux's narration elevates these stories, bringing depth and emotion to each character. If you’re a fan of action-packed romances with a heavy dose of heart, this series is for you.

My Thoughts:
Charlie Cochet’s writing continues to impress with its balance of thrilling suspense and steamy romance. The Wild Cards spin-off captures everything I love about the *Four Kings Security* universe while giving us fresh and compelling pairings. And Greg Boudreaux—what a perfect choice for the narration! His voice work brings these characters to life in such a dynamic way.

**Favorite Couple:** Joker and Gio’s story in *Sleight of Hand* had me completely captivated. Their tension and eventual surrender to their feelings were just so well done.

An Amazing series, and yet again, Charlie Cochet manages to pull me in with her writing and keep me there,

I got completely involved with these characters to the point that I believe they are real, and I know them; that's the power of a great author.

I cannot believe you get all this for one credit; go out and treat yourself to 20 hours of pure pleasure.

Greg Boudreaux narrates these books. He did an excellent job of bringing all the characters to life.

All three of these couples were so good! Getting to know each of them before they fell for their person in the first Kings series was fun and made me excited for their love stories. Especially Frank! I needed to know how his turned out and I was not disappointed! My favorite by far was Joker. He was one I didn’t think I really wanted to read and he ended up being my favorite of the entire group!

Yes, the suspense written into each story is a bit over the top but they own a private protection business and they’re former green beret so what do you expect? There’s lots of witty banter, drama, spice, and if you listen to the audio, Greg Boudreaux!

Stacking the Deck
Jack & Fitz are ment to be, but circumstances kept them apart for quite some time.

Raising the ante
I distantly remember the incident, when Frank & Joshua and Joshua first met at his club in one of the Kings Security books. Now they finally get their HEA.

Sleight of hand
Gio & Joker danced around each other for a long time. Though never having met and only knowing of each other through Gios brother Laz. With Gio coming back home for good, they get their chance, but it takes some time and a lot of trust.

Love all of these guys

I love the whole 4 Kings Security Universe, and this box set of additional stories adds much to the entire world around St. Augustine, Florida. Getting to meet and know Ace and Lucky and Fitz and Joker and their friends and family, along with the men they meet, fall in love with and eventually marry, has been a real treat. And add to that 2 of the greatest K9 companions ever, Chip and Cookie, and you have a world that you just don't want to leave. Dying to learn more...

Kidnapping, Cute guys, cuter dogs

In the second King's Security box set we get more stories from more of the green berets and their partners. We finally get Jack and Fitz and my favourite, Gio and Joker.
Although the first chapter at the back from Aisle be There featuring Ward's cousin Gage is hilarious.
Great fun.

Great!

Wow these guys!!!! You will love them all. This is Gio and Jokers story and while it took some time to get it going it did not take long for it to heat up. It was fun getting to know them and no way you can forget their two furry friends.
