3/5 what I would giiive for me to be a heroine in one of Tessa Klein's books!

Lily has feelings for her dad's best friend and professor. She's been trying to apply for an internship to Mr. Devlin's company for a few years now. He rejects her every time. Later, she goes behind his back to gain employment at his company. When he sees her there, he realizes he needs to make his move! And man, he does.

I adore this series but this novella was my least favorite. It was slow in places and rushed in others. Regardless, I can't wait to see what TK writes next! <3

Boss romance.

This installment of the series is more of a boss romance than a teacher romance. Yes he was her professor but we don’t really see that and nothing happens between them until she’s working for him.

I liked Drake’s obsession with Lily. That was definitely the best part. Lily didn’t continuously blatantly throw herself at him so I liked that too. An enjoyable short read.

I’m definitely bummed this is the last story in the series. I LOVE this series & latest installment. We met the FMC, Lily in the last book. Her father is Thatcher Cole, her best friend is Brooklyn. The MMC is Thatcher’s best friend and the teacher of the FMC and also the CEO of the coffee company the FMC desperately wants to work at.

The story starts with the FMC being rejected for a third and final time for an apprenticeship she is more than deserving of, but the MMC is to afraid to let her into his company for fear he won’t be able to control himself. Well, she decides, screw this, and gets hired at his company via another channel, the COO, bypassing the MMC/CEO altogether.

He goes to offer her a job, realizing he won’t get to see her all the time otherwise. She declines as she already got hired to start the Monday after graduation.

I’m glad we only see a small amount of time with her as a student, I can only deal with so much angst & secret longing 😉 I love how their relationship develops, getting to see bits of Thatcher & Brooklyn throughout the story and the ending was too adorable. Melted my heart with his surprise at the end! 🥰

Read this series and story, FOR SURE. At a minimum though, read the last one, Teach Me, Mr. Cole first, it’ll help lead up to this one (and it’s a great story!).

I’ve been waiting for this book for a while, and now that I’ve read it I’m in love!
I loved Lily and Drakes story. Lily has been crushing on Mr Devlin for quite some time now and is trying to be close with him, but he doesn’t let her stay too close to him. This creates a barrier between them and Lily tries to bring that barrier down for a while. However, Drake needs that barrier in place to keep his attraction in check. Even with the barrier, Lily finds a way inside his company and sparks fly once they are alone. Their relationship develops quickly. Will they finally get everything they’ve ever wanted?
Read this novella to find out. You won’t regret it.

Lily was a student of Mr Devlin in the past. She's had a crush on him for a long time and keeps applying for an internship with him. He turns her down though. He's her fathers best friend and won't explain why he's turning her down. Will she be able to get him to work with her?
