Up to now, Purnama Salura a.k.a. Pursal is still actively teaching in the department of architecture at Parahyangan Catholic University in Bandung. His lectures consist of theory and architecture design methodology, with emphasis on the theory of meaning in architecture. He also acts as a coordinator for the vernacular architecture community. The community objective is to broaden the research studies results on vernacular architecture in Indonesia. His passion on scientific writings is pertained on the publishing of several architectural books, such as

“Ber-Arsitektur: Membuat, Menggunakan, Mengalami, dan Memahami Arsitektur” (2001) – “Architectur-ing: Making, Using, Experiencing, and Understanding Architecture”
“Menelusuri Arsitektur Masyarakat Sunda” (2008) – “Discovering the Architecture within Sundanese Society”
“Sundanese Architecture” (2008)
Salura also like to breed his talented young students into writing and encourage them in making documentations of their writing into published books. One that has been published, “Colours of Culture in Architecture” (2008) was written by several of his students. There will be more books available in the upcoming year. His undying passion in culture studies is also recorded and had it made into a book called “Arsitektur Dalam Bingkai Budaya” (2003) – “The Cultural Frame of Architecture”. He collaborated with the master of cultural studies itself, Prof. Kusnaka Adimihardja.

Besides working actively as a lecturer, Salura is also a practicing architect. He has been working as an architect and has designed different types of buildings since 1980. Some of his creations had won both the national and international design competition.

“…humans as a creative beings individually or as in a group build its culture and portray it in its architectural artifact” (Kusnaka, A and Salura, P. 2003)
