The Wolf Boss & His Darling (Mafia, Murder, and Mayhem

Rate this book

The Wolf Boss, Rodney McLycan, of the Underground Mafia is known for his blunt stubborn attitude, keeping most beings at arm’s length. While trying to move on from the past, he’s distracted by the attempted murder of himself and his Pack. Adamant in finding the culprit, Rodney’s brought face to face with an unlikely being to aid him—a beautiful, strong-willed bartender named Meg, who becomes his only link in finding those responsible. Determined not to fail his Pack, Rodney strikes a deal, hoping history won’t repeat itself.

With each step forward, more and more of Meg’s secrets are discovered. Some intrigue the werewolf alpha, while others bring danger to his door. Perhaps even the “She-Devil” of Topside.
As Rodney works with his Pack, his “lil sis,” and an unlikely ally to find the answers. He may soon realize his only salvation could be the one whose eyes keep reminding him of home.

Being late for brunch will be the least of this Wolf Boss’ problems, as he finds himself and those he loves thrown into a sticky web filled with the mafia, murder, and, of course, mayhem.

This book follows the timeline of Vinny the Vampire & Me and Sweet Cheeks and Her Mob Boss. It's messages are strong for those who need to hear it. Reading this lets you feel like you are one of the pack. I picked it up and couldn't put it down.

This book made me cry, so I put it in a corner. 😂 After I was done reading it, of course.

I am in love with the Wolf Pack, and have decided that I want to be a werewolf and not a vampire in this universe. *nods* (though I wouldn't turn down to be a vampire lol)

This story is beautifully written. It gives an inside look at someone who is "left behind" and feels guilty about it. It also features parental verbal abuse. Which I is something that I can relate too. Never feeling good enough for the parental figure in your life. You hear their voice in the back of your head always telling you you'll never be good enough. You strive for their attention only to be shot down, again and again.

Many people suffer in silence, because they think its normal. Everyone else continued to live their life just fine. Why am I having such a hard time with it? When in reality those other people are also dealing with their own demons on the inside as well.

We need more books like this. People need to know that they're not alone. You have to find people that won't judge you for your shit, and actually listen and be there for you.

It was nice to see some people actually start getting along. They begin to hash out their issues by actually talking...even if its doing illegal things.

I have only cried over 2 books in my life, this was one of them.

I have been an avid reader all of my life. I have found very few stories that I have touched me so deeply that they have made me cry. The Wolf Boss & His Darling touched my heart in a way that I can't fully describe. I suffer from PTSD (not in the same way that Military Veterans do) but I understand the fear and the guilt that comes with such trauma. Rodney is the perfect example of how PTSD can consume someones life and one person or one thing can help relieve some of the guilt, shame, and terror of watching those you love die. Elm, being a Veteran themselves, has written a story that shows just how far someone will go to protect those they love after loss. The guilt and shame someone feels when they have survived and someone they cared for is gone. 10/10 would recommend.

A great story and even greater love. Spicy but not overly so. Fun and witty.

Rodney!!!

Okay, that’s about as much of the plot as I’m willing to reveal. Rodney and a few other wolves are going thru some PTSD while trying to solve a few mysteries. He meets Meg in the process, and Boom! Sparks, instant mate-ability happen. Will they Mate? Read the book. Also do not have a libation in your hand or mouth towards the end of the book; Rodney and Vinny have a conversation at each other while interrogating some of the bad guys. I spewed my beer!! Elm, I’m tagging you for the beer foul!

There is a happy ever after moment. You get to see the Cuorebella family, Vinny and Brenda, all your favs. I’ve been looking forward to diving into the Wolf Mob. This book did not disappoint.

Emotional Roller coaster

When I tell you I ran the gambit of giggling like an idiot at the antics and then ugly crying the next at the real raw emotion in this book, it is no lie.

The way the characters work through their grief and depression hits home for more reason than one. It is amazing to see, and feel, how real those emotions are and to have them represented in a manner that helps you process everything.

Definitely an amazing read, and can't wait for the next one!

This book is an amazing spin off! If you loved Vinny and Brenda you will love Meg and Rodney!
There is plenty on Vinny and Brenda to keep you invested in the Underground World. A look into he packs history and why the wolves have their nicknames from Lil Sis.
Rodney and Meg are amazing
Thank you for an amazing 3rd book in the series!

I have no words to say how much I love this series and this author. I would read pretty much anything the author writes. Love the family dynamics, the unflinching look at mental health, the snarky dialogue.. everything!

Werewolves are my favorite paranormal beings and this book is one of my absolute favorites. Sweet, spicy, snarky, and solemn all in one place. I fell in love with the McLycan pack and you will too

Elm Jed has done it again! And honestly, I just might like Rodney and Meg more than Vinny and Brenda. I knew from the previous books that Rodney was a bit of a softie and I would love his love story, and I was absolutely right. Meg is his perfect match and I love the way she supports him through everything that happens. A huge thank you to Elm Jed for sharing another story in this universe.
