There are good guys. There are bad guys. Then there's me.
Moving to a new school sucks. I don't care about being cool and I have no filter – not exactly a recipe for success. Thankfully, the "geeks" welcome me in with open arms, including Zoe. For the first time in my life, I have a female friend, and I kinda like how this feels.
I've always been the girl who had to fight to keep going. My friends have always been guys, and the dorky kind. I've simply never known anything else, so when Zoe needs my help, I'm all in. I'm not afraid of picking a fight - or breaking a few rules. After all, bullies get to do it all the time.
And this jerk is taking his abuse to a whole new level. Worse, no one seems to care – except us. One rag-tag group of "losers" who have just the right set of skills. But who knew that spending so much time with these guys might make me look at them in a different light? Zoe, that's who.
But it doesn't matter if I like them, does it? We have a job to do. Zoe is depending on me, and that's a hell of a lot more important than some feelings I don't know how to deal with anyway. What really matters is that my first female friend deserves a little revenge. I'll throw everything away - even my own future - for the girl who has become my ride or die bestie.
So, I'm going to make sure she gets her vengeance.
And she's going to make sure I fall in love.

I had been anticipating this story since I read the Gamer Girls series the first time (and the second and the third time). I did enjoy getting to know Jericho and crew. I think the only thing that didnt work for me and honestly this isn't a huge thing is that they are all in high school (which feels a little ick to me). My hope is that through out this spin off series we go beyond the events of the end of gamer girls and get to know them more as college age kids. With all that said I am SOO happy that we got this story and I cant wait to see where it goes (or rather how we get there).
Recommendation,
It is not necessary but I recommend reading the Gamer Girls series first. I think you can probably read this on its own, but you wont know some of the details they add. Cant wait for the next one coming out in June!

Not my jam. Felt like too many…. “Preachy” moments and feminist monologuing about things. There seemed to be so many arguments. The FMC took things way too far so many times. I did appreciate how she did get called out on a few things - but not all of them. She straight up physically assaulted one girl. I wasn’t really a fan of the guys either, they just seemed so blah to me except for the guy she called Hottie.

If you haven’t read the Gamer Girls series by these ladies yet, I suggest reading that as well, and the shades of trouble series from Kitty Cox.
Not necessarily before, because the story DOES make sense without it and the bits you need are explained. But you will want to read them to get the full effect! The way these ladies have little links and stuff between their series is genius!
I loved this start to a new series, the characters are delightful mixture of personalities and pasts, they are conplex and each have their own stuff to deal with. The FMC is strong but not invincible, and even the side characters will have you eager to read more! For the most part… the protagonists may make you want to scream, kick and claw at them in anger.
I loved seeing relationships of all types begin to flourish, seeing how the different types wove together, and absolutely adored seeing all the different personalities meld and clash along the way.
These are not easy characters with pretty pasts that walk into battle and out with their hair perfect and a smile on their faces while they merrily skip on, instead they are very real. They will have you rooting for them from the get go, and make you want to shout at the Authors for what they put them through, all the while you are glued to the story.
I adore the fact that the MMCs are all very different and they haven’t stuck to the typical pinup boy style, instead we have REAL people, and characters loving personalities.
I adore that these authors do NOT conform to stereotypes. This is not a traditional relationship, it’s messy but it makes sense. It gives us a brutal look at some things, and a beautiful one at others. As always these authors are the queens of found family and strong women.
This series continues storylines started in Gamer Girls but is readable without it, it also creates new storylines that then get mentioned or continued in Gamer Girls so they work well together! I loved getting to see some of my favourite people again, but also adore that this isn’t done for “points” instead it MAKES SENSE!
There are some tough topics raised so read the warnings before diving in, but as ways they have done this is a raw, engaging way.
If you enjoy their other books, you’ll love this! If you’re new to these Authors I would suggest Gamer Girls first! As they are individual books that move the story line along where as this is a series based on one set of characters, so GG may just be an easier way in… that being said, again read the warnings!!

Ruin - Yes!!!
What amazing read from start to finish. I love how everyone meets an evolves. These Ladies know how to draw you in and keep you hanging for the next word written. I’m not a gamer - with this story it didn’t matter. What a great ride!!! Vey excited for Brutal.

I have been waiting with bated breath for this book and it did not disappoint. The characters are great and the story is interesting and sucked me right in. Not going to lie, I have a bit of a crush on Ripper!

3.75 ⭐️ - Good start
I haven’t read the other related series so I didn’t know all the major players but I still managed to follow along.
On the positive side, I liked most of the characters and their maturity levels. Even as high schoolers, they used common sense and make relatable choices. Jericho is an interesting FMC and I appreciated how sure of her mind she was as well as how she explained her positions to others.
The guys were interesting and not all fit the usual physical stereotypes (ie Ripper) but Jeri saw beyond that which I also liked.
I also very much enjoyed that the authors focused and empowered women in gaming. We all heard about the bullying and other less than palatable behaviors in the gaming world. So kudos to them for also giving Jeri some fully supporting gamers (all the guys from DoD are awesome !)
Now on the less positive side, as a complete noob, I was a bit lost when the talk became technical so I sometimes skipped those.
I also found the blurb a bit misleading as what is described is only the last quarter of the book (maybe the last 100-150 pages). And while we get hints throughout, i felt that it was not what I was promised even if I enjoyed the storyline still. But as it’s quite a long book (too long) I would have liked to know that before starting so I didn’t keep waiting for that part of the story.
Overall I enjoyed it and will read more of this series.

I'm giving this a 4 stars because it really took me 4 days to read this. It was hard to stay interested. I usual am done with a book in a day to day in half the most. Usually done with a series in 3/4 days depending on size. Like I said itbwas hard as heck. I really liked the guys. I didn't care for Jeri at 1st but she grew on me a bit. It took alot but toward the end it pick up and now I'm starting book 2 cause I need to know what's happening now. I also like the little preview of the next book. Oh I forgot to mention that I didn't care for the fact that they kinda just forgot about everyone else that were geeks or gamers. I mean ripper was their friend before Jeri or any other of them came along and they were the 1st to befriend her then they just seem to be forgotten about. I thought that was rude. I didn't like how shebwas interested in Carter and her seemed to be her to until Jeri "changed" her mind. Now I have a feeling that Jynx (I forgot how to spell his name) will probably get with her. Anyways enough of that. It was an on book ibwould say stick to it. It gets better toward the bottom and now I'm about to start book 2. It's no way a bad book so please don't take it that way. Most people like the slower build ups lol I'm a fast grind kinda of person lol. I did feel it was worth theb4 starts tho. So please enjoy.

Brilliant, Brilliant Start !
Just like everything else written by these authors this is a series you can get lost in. I’m talking real books not something that’s been pared down to 300 pages or less but genuine quality novels.
No faffing or rambling just a plot and characters that everyone can relate to dealing with the hard real life issues. It runs parallel to the Gamer Girls series. It’s a RH series
Ruin features a young woman (17-18) and her friends, Jericho has a tough home life but she’s working her way through her last year of high school in a new town in the ‘burbs of Texas. She has problems relating to people and understanding the social niceties that people usually adhere to. So no time for boy drama or relationships, until now for the first time she has a female best friend. That friend needs help and Jeri is determined to help. It doesn’t hurt that the cute guys she likes want to help too.
I seriously love Jericho’s personality, the line she spouts off to one of her teachers about her odd first name at her new school is one of my all time favourites. I’m currently reading Gamer Girls (on KU) and wanted to bring this story up to speed before reading the last book of that series. You definitely don’t need any geek/ nerd/ computer knowledge to be able to enjoy these books. These books are still firmly on my “must buy” list.

January 5, 2024First off, these kids are in high school so it was not very easy to just forget that despite most of them becoming 18 across the chapters, that’s just 17 + 1. Next, the unprotected sex minus testing, come on, no, that was not okay, no, no, no, not at all.
Now, apart from those two things, I really got into this coz I really wanted to see how this relationship is going to make sense plus everything going on in these “kids” lives.
We have multiple POVs, anticipated MM action, absent parents, character growth, amazing friendships, vigilante justice and gamer stuff which Gamer Girls kinda prepared me for.
So I read the first 3 books of the Gamer Girls series (couldn’t do the whole series, too MF for me) because one reviewer said it would help enjoy this series more and the 3 books I read really did help, I know QQ/Riley, Knock/Jeff (who is an MMC in this one), Logan/Void, Cyan, Kohl/Dez, and other things like the gaming stuff was more explained in the other series than this one, KoG etc, etc. So yeah, first read that series!
Oooh and triggers, many triggers so first check out the TWs before diving in. And if you’re a delulu parent of a teenager, maybe skip this one!

Jericho is such a dumpster fire and I love it.
I'm loving that even though Gamer Girls and Shades of Trouble do kinda spoiler us on some of the relationships etc., it still feels new and like we don't actually know things yet. I think the interconnectedness between series is done really well!
I'm not the hugest fan of high school settings, since that should in theory also mean a certain level of immaturity. It's a two edged sword because I both dislike series where the young character is unrealistically mature, but I also get frustrated with characters behaving immaturely. I think Auryn and Kitty found a great balance in that front and from them I'll read High School settings every time.
As always, it's clear how much work and effort has gone into world building and thinking out all kinds of details so they make sense and have a purpose. I love the speculation I can do with this book and the other related series and that it actually is consistent between it all without plotholes.

Gamer Teens Book 1
The Gamer Girls series is one of my favorites, and I downloaded this book entirely due to the author duo, without realizing it was linked to that series.
So.... Yeah, so much for sleep while I was reading this one.
Some of the hallmarks of the authors are present and accounted for:
* Gaming
* Damaged but tough characters
* Found families
* Sexually open and fluid characters
Parts of the story overlap with the Gamer Girls series, but this could be read as a standalone, or before and still work. I'm already contemplating going through that series again while waiting for book 3 to come out. ❤ Cyn, so much.
Sentiments like this win me over on this series:
"You know, it's not really that easy to show new people your deep, dark secrets. Not even the ones that should be universally understood. There was this safety to keeping things locked away. Mostly because it made me feel like I could pretend they weren't real. What had happened to me in my life did not define me."
And yet... They're young. They're learning life, with very little true adult knowledge, so they do some stupid s.. tuff. Part of me is disgusted - I expect better writing, and more from these characters. Part of me thinks it's well done, with the teens breaking free from the page and entirely doing their own thing.
It's a lot of teen angst, chest puffing, sex talk, and some actual sex. There's minimal gaming, more hacking, and some highly questionable decisions. As with most of the characters from these authors, expect trauma and potential triggers.
The last 16% of the book is straight up promoting more work from the authors - disappointing as I watch the time left as I read and boom! Done.
Am I immediately diving into book 2? Of course.

DNF (did not finish). What made the book unfinishable in your opinion?
Sometimes this author is hit or miss with me. Some of her book series I absolutely loved and some of them I could not get into. Unfortunately, this is one of the series where I couldn't connect to the characters. It's too bad I didn't like the main character even though she's a gamer girl like myself. She's very promiscuous, and I couldn't relate. She seemed to be trying too hard to be one of the guys and was holding everyone at arm’s length. The character relationships didn't seem natural to me and felt a little forced. Overall, this school drama Reverse harem wasn't to my tastes, so I'm going to give it an average rating since I didn't finish it.

amazing start to a new series
I absolutely loved the Gamer Girls series but these two and was so excited to see this series was starting. It’s in the same world and these characters were introduced in that series so it was like coming home when reading this.
The great thing is that this book was written so it’s not necessary to read Gamer Girls first so can be read on it’s one too.
Jericho is an amazing character and to see her growth through this book was great! This is such a fantastic example of found family and friendship!!

a MUST read!!
If you love Auryn Hadley and Kitty Cox separately then their UnisonRaid is one to remember! This series has started off amazing! The character building is so strong; readers can feel what the characters are feeling. Jericho is a strong FMC with a guiding morality that is awesome. Watching as she builds the family she has chosen is awe inspiring. The guys… oh h*ll LOVE THEM! Each has their own story and experiences that bring so much depth to the story and the Ruin group as a whole. I can not wait for the next installment! And Thank you Auryn and Kitty for giving your readers that “Extra” at the end! ❤️

Ifyou loved the Flawed series, this is like a high school RH spin-off. I loved the cameos from some of the other series. Jericho is starting her senior year at a new school. She has had to grow up fast, dealing with tragedy and her mom absentness after her brothers death. This story deals with some possibly triggering topics - I feel like it deals with them well, but also in a raw, realistic way. These characters aren’t perfect, and at times I wanted to shake one of the guys, but I love that they are honest and deal with their issues in a real way. Hadley and Cox are a great team, and I’m looking forward to seeing where this series goes :)

Dnf at 25%. I got this on stuff your kindle day and went in blind the other day and then I went back to read the details page because I was confused like 5% of the way in.
The first scene or so has to do with the detail summary page but outside of that the books plot doesn’t really follow it. The book was entirely too long and very very slow. The FMC is the ultimate I’m not like other girls, girl. It’s a why choose I believe but like I didn’t like most of the guys. Cade was a very unenjoyable character.
Honestly the plot was just boring, if it wasn’t so long and had more depth I would have given it a second go.
The first scene or so has to do with the detail summary page but outside of that the books plot doesn’t really follow it. The book was entirely too long and very very slow. Pure Satisfaction
I truly feel like every other book I read in the year leaves me just a tad unsatisfied, but Kitty and Auryn never disappoint. The gaming world and characters they’ve created are some of the very best and most relatable characters I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading. This time we get a bit of a younger demographic with Knock and Jericho, but it’s no less real or superb! I truly loved this read, and I’m thrilled to get some more backstory on Grayson too! The missing pieces are coming together, and I’m so excited for the next installment this summer!

Meh, I wanted to like this book I really did but it wasn’t enjoyable.
Jeri the FMC is annoying AF, she’s shouty and bitchy and she literally overshares everything. She’s acts like she’s ‘one of the boys’ but she’s really not. The guys they’re okay I guess, but all 3 are like the same but look different and it’s a bit boring.
The gaming aspect is what bored me the most, there was just too much detail and chatter, it’s all they ever talk about. The whole friends with benefits part of it really annoyed me, like it’s not going to end well, it’s not that hard to date slowly.

Every entertaining and enjoyable read.
This was a very entertaining and enjoyable story. This first book had a fascinating storyline, with interesting and likeable characters.
I submit a gamer in any way, shape or form, but this story actually peaked my interest.
I fully intend to complete this series, however, I will go back and read the books that came before this, about Destiny.
I definitely recommend this book.

really good for gamers
This was a great book if you are a gamer. If you are not I honestly don’t know that this would appeal to you, but I can be wrong. This is a looooong book, so take that as you will. I really liked the story, and the characters too, having never read anything from either author, I enjoyed my first taste and will be finishing this series, it’s too good not to.

Auryn and Kitty always leave me with the worst book hangovers (because they write some of the best books ever). So now I'm off to reread The Flawed series and Shades of Trouble. Hopefully the end of June gets here quickly. Thank you for another great book, can't wait for the next.

Another Hit!!
Yet another un-put-down-able novel from the incomparable duo of Auryn Hadley and Kitty Cox! Truly the best writing team in current memory. Five stars for am amazing story. Don't expect a ton of spice. This is not what this is about. This is heavy on the story. It is a beautiful poly romance though.

So many tears!
I don't think I've cried this hard since I read the The Gamer Girls and Shades of Trouble series.. I absolutely love when you two team together and produce characters that know how to dig into your soul and stay there. Thank you for giving us Knock and Jinx! Thank you for Cyn and QQ! Brilliant!!
Once again these two have written a brilliant start to what is shaping up into another epic gamer series. Loved seeing QQ and Void, Kitty and their younger brother Knock (MMC here) crossover from the Gamer Girls series. Highly recommend this as with any of these awesome authors other works. Solid 5 stars. Waiting now on book 2!

So glad for the spin off!
I’ve always wanted to know more about knock and his little poly group and OMG did this book delivered ! I am always wary of spin offs especially given this is one of my all time favorite series but it was so good! Lots of action, some building relationships, and drama! Absolutely loved it! ❤️

Ruin, the first book of the A Flawed series, is an ebook I borrowed through Kindle Unlimited (KU). The Flawed series is an off shoot of the Gamer Girls series. I think the reader would get the most enjoyment from reading the other series first, as the secondary characters' backstories and the misogynist-cyber bullies story line are detailed, providing some foundation for Flawed.

Never review but I needed to for this epicness
Any reader that loves fierce women. Who are brutally honest and do not give a f*** you need to read this. Love the fact it's set with gamers the storyline all fits perfectly. It'd make an awesome movie. I just loved it and you should definitely give it a read.

Read Gamer Girls first
Loved that this is a side story from the Gamer Girls. I enjoyed knowing more about Knock and his polyamorous group. It's just the beginning of the trying to take down the King of Gaming hate group. Soft cliffhanger. It ended at a great spot, but I need more!
