What I Liked: 1. Loved the books design 2. Sweet story from different pov's 3. Artwork was simple but entertaining
What I Didn't Like: 1. Certain parts felt repetitive
Final Thoughts: This was such a cute and fun book. It really had a good message for children and even adults. Sometimes it's difficult to accept that we are different but it's the differences that make each of us special.
I felt like the ending was just too rushed and lacked an ending that had the depth the rest of the book had. I wish there was just a little bit more to the story.
Overall though such a great story! I loved the book and thought it was absolutely beautiful.
We met Matthew in the Ralphs parking lot today promoting this book and signing copies and he was amazing! We talked, took pictures, he signed some books for us, and he even let me FaceTime my little sister who loves him! My husband and I just read the book aloud together and it was beautiful ❤️ this was amazing and we will love and cherish this book! He also said my husbands coat was awesome and he liked my spooky shirt, so that was really cool too
matthew gray gubler makes everything better. i want to put him in my pocket with little holes for eyes and take him everywhere with me for pocket emotional support. perhaps to grassy fields and the moon and cat cafés as well
I wasn't expecting too much, but after waiting three weeks for this book, my anticipation was pretty high.
This comic warmed my heart. I don't read many stories written for children anymore, but maybe I should do it more often.
The plot is very simple and easy to understand. But you can't stop yourself from reading. I actually wanted to divide up the chapters, but then I devoured it and was really pleased with the ending.
I may not be able to recommend everyone to buy this book, but if you have the opportunity to read it, I highly recommend it.
The drawing style, like the plot, is not very elaborate, but it supports the story. I wasn't sure about it at first, but I quickly learned to love it. It's not always easy to draw suitable things for children's books, but I think it's a success.
Anyone who is in the mood for a lovely story is very welcome to pick up this book. I have not regretted it.
Looked at the world differently in this story about Lenore who is born with a big green hand. She hides her hand from others, could there be a better way to change the hand or be rid of it? Those who like stories like The Book No One Wants to Read, The Missing Piece or Shel Silverstein's poetry will enjoy this novelty book.
it's my reading challenge i'll add what i'll add!!
matthew if you're reading this i am in love with you and also my cat is named after your first book and therefore i think maybe i should get another cat and name it after this book and also we should get married
MGG has done it again. TLKWTBGH is about loving oneself exactly as you are, as well as loving those different from us in such a whimsical, eccentric, colorful way. The illustrations and layout/pace fit the genre and story so well! I cannot wait to reread this one and read it to my kids one day.
Stand Tall Molly Lou Melon was my favorite book growing up (& still today really) and TLKWTBGH evoked all of the same emotions and outlook as STMLM did. The nostalgia alone made me want to cry!
Not sure why I bought this book (I bought it because I am in love with the author) but I fuck with it heavily what a cute little message. Definitely using this to teach my friends kids (and my future ones maybe) english!!
i legit read this out loud as if i was story time reading and it’s so pure and thoughtful. the use of color is really intentional and brings the story to life
