Nineteen-year-old Kevin Andersan has just returned after a genetic curse predictably led to his disappearance. He and his family leave California to start fresh in a new condo on the breathtaking beaches of Sanibel Island. Less than twenty-four hours after moving, he meets Rebekah, who's sarcastic, refreshingly blunt, and not afraid to go after what she wants. Her unapologetic forwardness and their undeniably deep connection forces Kevin to break down the barriers that kept him from opening up to others in the past. When their relationship is sent on the fast track, Kevin knows he'll have to tell Rebekah about the curse, but not before finding out that her family has a secret of their own.
I loved so many details throughout the story, particularly the arc of the intro and the epilogue and how they tied everything together. But more than that, I truly enjoyed seeing the growth in the characters as they were moved and shaped by the events and other people in the story!
