A Cowboy for Eliza Jane is a great mail-order bride book. Trouble for Eliza Jane 's new life in El Vaquero starts with a street urchin trying to steal her travel bag, then giving her a cryptic message, then fire is set to the boarding house causing her three friends to have to decide to become mail-order brides all before Eliza Jane was ever to board the train in Atlanta. Now instead of a lonely train ride to Texas, Eliza Jane has Olivia Joy, Magnolia, and Emmaline to go with her all to be married the day they arrive in El Vaquero. But their trip from the train to the church will have it's own problems.

All the friends are grateful to be back together once again. They are all considered family since they are either married to a Ford son or close friend of the Ford's. The Ford's decide it is time to build Main Street and sell/rent land out to make their city come to life as the trip to El Gato is becoming increasingly dangerous. The reason all of the girl's have been chased by bandits or had men from back in their parent's lives coming after them is figured out by the Ford's. That is not the biggest secret they find out about, as another is in the snow coming down the mountain.

I think this was the best and most intriguing story of this series. Jovie Grace left out no punches in writing this book. I was given an advanced copy for review. This book gets 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 I really enjoyed this book and hated for it to end.

ALWAYS TRUSTS, ALWAYS HOPES, ALWAYS PERSEVERES

The story is the third in the series, Mail-Order Brides on the Run which are clean historical western stories. The story begins in Atlanta, Georgia after the Civil War has ended. So many young women are left to fend for themselves, losing their families and all their possessions. A small group of women have banded together, staying together in a boarding house, and working jobs to survive. Eliza Jane is the next of the Southern Belles to agree to become a mail-ordered bride and travel, like her friends, to El Vaquero, Texas, to marry Keegan Ford. Before she leaves for the train station, she feels she is being watched, and then it is confirmed when someone tries to snatch her satchel with the few possessions she owns. She will hurry back into the boarding house to warn the other three girls, and then they are under attack—it is decided that all four of them need to leave together. A telegram will be sent to her groom, also informing them of the danger they are facing. Keegan and the others will meet the train as a precaution.

Keegan: Miss Ferrell?
Eliza Jane: Please state your identity, sir.
Keegan: I’m your groom.
Eliza Jane: I reckon you have proof of that?
Keegan: That I do, Miss Ferrell. Keegan Ford, at your service. Today and for the rest of our lives.
Eliza Jane: Were you notified about the dangers we encountered on our way out of town, sir?
Keegan: We were. Be assured that any future threats will have to go through my brothers and me before they get to you.
Eliza Jane: I think I’m going to like being married to you, Mr. Ford.
Keegan: That’s the plan, Miss Ferrell.

The third and final story in this trilogy will include a small bit of the other three brides and their grooms. Bits and pieces will come out about what happened to them in Atlanta, with the death of loved ones, the loss of their homes and inheritances, and one name that keeps coming up. The story has the good, the bad, and the evil of people. Even situations of one they thought they could trust will have a nasty turn. It is a battle of life and death, good against evil, and settling the truth that was stolen from these Southern Belles. A battle is coming to Ford Ranch and the town of El Vaquero, and it means that everyone must be alert—including our brides.

Keegan: This is like the one (gun) you were carrying the day you arrived in town.
Eliza Jane: You don’t need to worry about me. I’ll do my part.
Keegan: I’m sorry it’s come to this. All I ever wanted was to keep you safe.
Eliza Jane: Well, I’m not sorry. I’m tired of ducking, running, and losing ground. For once, I’m going to get to fight back. It feels good, Keegan. If that makes me a bad person, I’m sorry.
Keegan: I believe what it makes you is a complete hoyden.
Eliza Jane: I tried to warn you.
Keegan: That you did.

I absolutely loved these three stories and was sad to know that this is the end of this series. While they are clean Western historical-based mail-order bride stories, they are also full of inspiration, sweet prayers, and scriptures of faith—but not preachy. Be sure to subscribe to the newsletter to enjoy bonus scenes from each of the stories—you will be glad you did. Also, there is something that happens in the story I didn’t see coming—a pleasant turn of events!

“Your grace is sufficient for today and every day, Lord. Amen.”

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

While this is a part of a series, you don't have to read the prior ones to understand and enjoy this book. I personally have not read them but I definitely will. Their stories were outlined here in a way that while intriguing, to read the prior stories, and also filling in the back ground to make one not miss those same stories. As the author is a great one, it makes me want to have a more in depth telling so reading them will be a must.

This is written in a dual POV format. That is a favorite of mine. Getting that glimpse into the main characters' thoughts, really help me to connect to them so much better. It truly makes for a more enjoyable story.

Eliza signs up to become a mail-order bride. She lost everything in the war of the states, except for her childhood girlfriends. Her family, her fiancé and her inheritance. She and her friends take in mending and washing just to bay the bills. There is little to nothing left. As Eliza gets ready to head west, she is accosted by a street urchin. She turns to the safety of her boarding house room where her friends are. After rocks are thrown in the room, then one wrapped in a burning cloth is thrown into the room. Her friends hurriedly pack their little belongings.

Turning to the agency that set up Eliza Jane's betrothment, additional request for mail-order brides are sent for her friends.

At the train station in Texas, awaits Keegan Ford. His intended bride is Eliza Jane. He eagerly awaits her arrival along with two of his younger brothers and a mountain man / priest. These three men are awaiting their brides as well. They know all about the troubles that the brides have endured back in Atlanta. They, along with the rest of the Ford brothers, come prepared for troubles on the ride home.

Can the Ford family along with their friends, figure out the who, what and why? Will more brides come up missing? Will Eliza toss her mourning to love her new husband?

This is a sweet, clean romance with some kissing.

Eliza Jane Ferrell had signed a marriage contract through Western Moon Agency to be a mail order bride. She wanted to be sent to Texas because two of the six debutante that she was part of in Atlanta was there. Her dream was to try to keep this group of six together. All their fathers had good businesses but after the war they were penniless they thought. Eliza Jane had finally persuaded the other three to sign a marriage contract. They were all headed to Texas when several men tried to abduct them. Once they got to Texas they were meant by the Ford brothers which they were all getting married.

The Ford brothers were building up their own community when things started going wrong. They could tell people were spying on them and they knew they needed to keep the women safe. Turner King was the U.S. Marshall that had been helping them, but Keegan Ford thought he was a dirty Marshall. Eliza Jane had been in love with Mark Hudson previously but he had been killed in the war and she was still mourning him when her and Keegan got married. On Christmas she received a letter from Amalia Hudson who was Mark’s sister saying he was alive and she was bringing him to Texas to see her. Things really went downhill from there. Also, you will be shocked to know how the girls truly got to stay together.

I received this ARC from the author for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I didn't want to finish this book because that would mean that the series is over! I love everything about this book and series! The author has created a loveable family of male characters and their mail order brides. The Fords are typical Texas cowboys who are fiercely protective of those they love, even if they don't know who they are marrying in the beginning! However, their mother is always watching out for them and as a widow (who has recently gotten remarried herself), wants her boys to have families and be settled on the ranch. In this last installment, Eliza Jane lives in Atlanta but needs to leave because she's dirt poor and has no way of rising above that. She'll follow her friends who became mail order brides in Texas and hope for the best. When she meets Keegan Ford, she immediately feels close to him but also knows she has brought trouble with her! There is a lot of action in this story. Other friends of hers have come West with her and someone is trying to kidnap them! They will be sorry they ever tried to tangle with the Ford family of men though! I will surely miss these characters and their exploits!

As mail-order bride Eliza Jane Ferrell awaits her transportation, she is almost robbed and kidnapped. She is heading to the Vasquez Ranch in Texas where two of her friends have already settled. Since the war, they have all lost their fortunes and homes and this is her only way to keep from starving. She hates leaving her remaining three friends behind, so when their boarding house is set on fire, her friends pack what they can and escape with Eliza. Luckily, her fiancé Keegan Ford, has two other brothers who are willing to marry and the town reverend is eager for a bride. Attacked by gunmen as they arrive, someone is after the women, but why and how did they know about their arrival? Keegan and his brothers know that the threats are not over, but they will protect their brides with their lives. As they get to know each other, Keegan and Eliza Jane are a perfect match with their saucy wit! An enjoyable ending to this series, with a twist at the end and a satisfying epilogue. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation, from the author, for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)

Eliza Jane was a mail-order-bride on the run from danger. Someone had tried to kidnap her and take her to a secret brothel. She had been the daughter of a wealthy southern gentleman until the war to everything away from her, include her fiancé. Destitute and unprotected, she decided to send an application in to become a mail-order bride. She also convinced her friends to apply, as well, hoping that they all could stay together.

Keegan and Eliza Jane had been writing to each other to get to know one another better and when she met her husband-to-be, Keegan Ford, she saw a very, handsome man with a heart of gold. He was determined to protect her from anyone who wished her harm. And, he would do whatever it took to win the heart of his new wife.

This is the third book in the Mail-Order Brides on the run series and I enjoyed it very much. I loved Keegan and the other supporting characters in this story. It is a clean, western romance with a lot of heart and a few protective men to keep the women they love safe and free from harm and danger.

I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.

Eliza Jane decides to follow her friends Annabelle and Penelope and sign up to be a mail order bride. Like her friends she lost everything during the war and now with the friends she has left in Atlanta they really struggle to keep going. While preparing to leave town she is attacked, their room is set on fire and while escaping the fire they're almost kidnapped. She convinces her friends to leave town with her. Eliza Jane has signed a marriage contract with Keegan Ford who is the brother of her friend Penelope's husband at Vasquez Ranch. It turns out the trouble has followed them.
With kidnappers after them, Eliza Jane's surprise visitor showing up and a possible crooked marshall this group has their hands full of trouble and not sure where to turn.
Will all the guys and girls get their happy ever after or will trouble win.
I hate to see the series end bc I have really enjoyed the journey of all the couples.
I received an arc in return for a honest review.

This is a delightful mail order bride book in the series.

Eliza-Jane, thought life would treat her well, growing up in the south before the Civil War.
The War changed her life completely and instead of the life of a Southern bell. Eliza-Jane is living life with a group of friends in a cheap boarding house.

Eliza has answered the call to become a Mail order bride, this will also get her away from the Leech who wants to marry her. If only he was pleasant and accepting of her choice.
The leech is determined to marry her ànd proceeds to make her life miserable.
Fires, gunshots, lead all of the friends to fill in Mail order bride application forms
and flee on the next train.

The story just gets better with each page. The characters evolve and develop as I kept reading.

I was very touched as the some of the scenes unfolded and we learned about the ladies their future, with their happy ever after ending

Loved this book!! What a great ending to this series!!! Eliza Jane has written to Keegan for a while. He's the brother of Jameson Ford, married to Eliza Jane's friend Penelope, and very good of Ethan Vasquez, married to Eliza Jane's friend Annabelle. Eliza Jane is sure she can never love another man after losing her fiance in the war. Keegan is set to prove her wrong, as he can't resist a challenge. Keegan realizes he has his work cut out for him when Eliza Jane arrives still in mourning clothes; or does he??? There are some really wonderful surprises in this book, and I'm not going to give away any spoilers! Let's just say there's more than one HEA in here!! Love the way all of these characters live out their faith in God!!

I received a complimentary copy of this book, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is my own.

Cowboy for Eliza

Such a good mail-order bride book. Enjoyed reading how Eliza Jane and her three friends ended up traveling west together in order to marry. Eliza Jane had been pining after the beau she lost to war as well as her father and mother and her home. Each of these women were thrown out of their homes and told their inheritance was lost to the war. Traveling to wed the Ford boys and the pastor at El Vaquero gives them hope. Things change when they are attacked and men try to kidnap them. Keegan doesn’t know what he has gotten himself into by sending for the woman who is obviously still missing her fiancé. He still promises to provide and protect her. Will he be able to keep his promise of protection? This is a book full of danger and suspense following the brides-to-be to their new home out west.

I enjoyed this book so much! What a great conclusion to the series. And it was definitely a bonus to have several brides in this book instead of just the one. The entire series was such a good storyline, and this book finished it out in a great way. I loved Keegan and Eliza Jane together. She lost “the love of her life” in the war and doesn’t believe she can love again. Keegan accepts the challenge. He is determined to make this feisty southern belle fall in love with him. Plus, he loves that she considers herself a hoyden! The other couples were also a joy to get to know and they rounded out the book very well. Of course, a little danger gets thrown in for good measure! Truly a delight to read!

Although this story starts out with Eliza Jane preparing to be a mail-order bride of Keegan Ford she ends up taking her three friends with her to El Vaquero by way of El Gato, Texas. Since other mail-order brides had disappeared on the way to El Gato the Ford's were prepared to protect the women. They requested assistance from U.S. Marshal Turner King, but can Marshal King be trusted?

I enjoyed the way everyone pulled together to incorporate the town. They all helped wherever needed to build, guard, protect and rescue others when needed. Is this story the end of The Western Moon Agency and other mail-order bride stories? I hope not.

I was given an ARC of this story from the author and BookFunnel but this review is my honest opinion given voluntarily.

I enjoyed this book where Eliza Jane and her three friends sign marriage contracts to marry cowboys in Texas. Eliza Jane is still in mourning over losing her fiance to the war as well as her family and all their fortune. She and her friends live together to survive their losses due to the Civil War. Leaving this life behind is the answer to their prayers or so they thought. They have to fight for their lives even before they get to the train station then the stagecoach they are on is attacked, but their future husbands protect them. I loved the characters and the exciting lives they live. I highly recommend this whole series and this book is a grand finale. I received an ARC from the author and this is my voluntary and honest review.

Eliza Jane lost her fiance in the war. She and her friends are struggling to survive in Atlanta. She decides to become a mail order bride. She corresponds with Keegan and enjoys his letters, but knows that her heart will always belong to her fiance who was killed. Eliza Jane is saying good-bye to her roommates when she is almost kidnapped. She and her 3 friends go to the mail order bride agency and go to the train depot together.

Keegan is quite taken with Eliza Jane when he first meets her, but trouble is on her heels. They are in a shoot out on the way to the church. Keegan knows that she is still mourning for her beau, so he doesn't want to move too quickly. Good advice from a friend makes him realize that he is actually neglecting his wife. Such a sweet book!

I love this series and this is the final book in the series.
Annabelle and Penelope have found love with their cowboys in El Vaquero Eliza Jane has applied to become a mail order bride too,but she is not looking for love.
She is matched with Keegan Ford and has told him she can never love another man after losing her fiance in the war.
Keegan is determined to win Eliza Jane's heart. With quite a few surprises, secrets being revealed, danger lurking in every corner, family unity, friendships, sweet romance and a happily ever after.
Loved the way everything comes together and the epilogue was just so heartwarming.
Thank you Jovie Grace for another wonderful romance.

Of most significance to me, this is a clean faith-based romance. Historicals aren’t my favorite genre but I am fascinated by mail order brides. Can you imagine traveling hundreds of miles to meet and marry right away, no resources, no family, often no friends to lend support? I can’t fathom it but this author makes it come to life. Eliza Jane and her friends are featured throughout this series. Their stories are similar as are their destinations. A Cowboy for Eliza Jane gives the opportunity to catch up with previously featured characters and catch a new adventure. I received an ARC and this is my honest opinion.

What is better than a Mail Order Bride book? FOUR mail order brides in the same story! I fall in love with the brides in this series; what courage and desperate determination these women had to have in order to leave their familiar homes/cities/friends and journey out west to an unknown future. Jovie Grace brings these stories to life---and adds excitement, love, and extended family. The women face dangers with grit and courage and faith and hope for the best.
I highly, highly recommend this book!

Eliza Jane and her three friends are mail-order brides going to Texas to join two of their friends who are already mail-order brides. Keegan is a rancher, along with his five brothers. Keegan has been longing for marriage, but he believes his bride is still mourning her fiancé who was killed in war. Can Keegan and his brothers protect the brides from greedy con-artists as he teaches his wife to love and trust him?

The characters exhibit good spiritual principles such as trusting God for His timing and protection and appreciating the majesty He has created.

I received a copy of this book from the author. My review is voluntary and unbiased.

How many times can you say "hoyden"?

Spoiler Alert ahead...Ugh! First half was OK. Even though THIS time the trouble is at the train station instead of following them on the train. All three books basically start the same. Too formulaic. Then...SPOILER ALERT...Half brother? Seriously? Couldn't even do twin? And NOBODY NOTICED? Please! Wait...something seemed off because the marshall used a southern expression? And the trouble was resolved NOT by people, but an act of God? This book had so much potental, but I feel like it was wasted. Oh, and of course they're all rich at the end. A nice HAE ending though.

This book has everything. Romance, intrigue, outlaws, suspense, and loving family abound in this well written book with characters that jump off the page. Eliza Jane had a harrowing trip to become a mail order bride, just escaping a kidnapping. Her friends joined her on their own mail order bride adventures after their boarding house room was set afire. Danger followed them to their new homes with a family of brothers wanting to protect their new brides. And then it gets interesting…

Received an ARC and this is my honest review.

A wonderful story that will make your heart sing as a mail order bride is desperate to get away from home and go out west!

Eliza has been nursing a broken heart since her beau had been killed in the war. But due to a rapscallion pursing her she decides to become a mail order bride.

Keegan Ford (yes those wonderful Ford's) wants to get married and have a family, but he knows he will have to thaw Eliza's heart to love.

Suspense, wonderful characters and a road to happy makes this a super read!

Loved this book. Recommend it to everyone. It’s a story about mail order brides escaping a life of poverty after the Civil War. They all came from families of wealth. Before they leave they are driven out of the poor place where they live and nearly kidnapped as they try to leave town. They successfully arrive at their destination but trouble follows them. They are intended for 3 brothers and the pastor. None of them can figure out why or who are trying to be kidnapped the women. The brothers and the pastor protect their wives and find out who and why they are sought. HEA is had by all.

I have loved this series and Eliza Jane and Keegan’s story was no exception. This was a historical mail order bride story that follows the first two in order. In this book, Eliza Jane and the three other Southern Belles get their HEA, although this story is centered on Eliza Jane. I loved that we catch up to Annabelle and Penelope. The sweetness is a little edgier, and it worked really well! Their faith is tested, but with God by their side all things are possible. Great story and a wonderful ending to the fun series.

I have never read anything by Jovie Grace before, OMG this was fantastic!! Eliza Jane has decided to be a mail order bride, to try to get away from the poverty; she is promised to marry Keegan Ford. Eliza Jane and her friends are almost kidnapped on their way to Texas to be married. The Ford brothers are very protective of their women. I loved this story and I need to go back and read more from Jovie Grace!!

I really enjoyed this book. It's a mail order bride book with a few twists and turns. Eliza was supposed to go to Texas to meet her groom, but things got a little messed up and it ended up being 4 women that had to travel to Texas. The suspense was great and the romance was very good. If you enjoy clean romance that has a little bit of suspense and intrigue then this book is for you. I received a copy of the book from the author, but this review is my own opinion. I highly recommend it.

Cowboy for Eliza Jane is a Christian, heartwarming romance with some suspense. I really enjoyed watching love developed between Keegan and his hoyden, Eliza Jane. Also, this well written book finished the overall story arc of why these brides were so pursued by villains. I love this entire Christian series, these characters, their "family" and even the suspense. Kudos t o Ms. Grace for writing the books my heart wants to experience!

Can Keepan win Eliza Jane's heart? That is the big question in this charming story. Eliza Jane has made it clear she is still pining for her beau whom she thinks is dead. But she has to leave the South along with several of her friends. Ms. Grace puts a mystery into this story that I did not anticipate which makes the book different & excellent. I received an ARC copy. This is my voluntary review.
