Will As a rule, I don’t trust people. I’ve learned the hard way that people will take advantage. Especially when you’re a multi-million dollar salaried professional athlete with your face and body plastered all over magazines. I break that rule though, the minute I meet Esther Dubois. Bookish and shy with curves for days, Esther doesn’t have a deceitful bone in her gorgeous body. I try to walk away, but one taste and I know she belongs to me. Now, I just have to convince her. Esther I expected what happened in Jamaica to stay in Jamaica. Instead, Mr. Walking Fantasy, AKA Will Sexton, AKA, “the bad boy of baseball” has shown up in my small Texas town claiming our marriage is real. Now we’re sharing a cabin and being stalked by photographers. Will is beautiful on the outside, that’s what everyone sees, but I see the heart he protects. It’s even more perfect than his face, and he wants to give it to me. I never imagined my fake vacation wedding might lead to my real life happily ever after. Am I really ready for that?

Mmmm...I was mostly confused by this novella. The plot didn't flow for me and there was a prolonged separation. I’ve loved the previous stories and will definitely continue to read Kat Baxter!

I’m not usually one for novellas, but as soon as I seen it has the “one bed trope” I snagged this one.
I am a complete sucker for that trope. Im glad I grabbed this one too, I really really enjoyed it.

This is a super fast fun read that didn’t leave me feeling lacking. It was written really well that I didn’t feel like I needed more. They story is just quick and fulfilling. It was light hearted, and just all around fun.

I really loved both characters and the chemistry they had together. I felt like they really were each others “lobsters”. I wish more books had that instant feeling of rightness with the characters that this one had.

Now I’m going to go back and read the rest of this series.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Curvy girl Esther (h) finds herself on a vacation to Jamaica alone when her boyfriend doesn’t show up for the flight. Baseball player Will spies her on the flight and finds himself drawn to Esther, then convinces her to pretend to be his when they show up at couples only resort. The two share some fun in the sun and surf and a quickie fake beach wedding, though when they part and go their respective ways they can’t stop thinking of the other. Sweet instalove romantic quickie with a side of heat.

Kat gave us another Adorkable FMC and I couldn't help but adore the awkwardness that was Esther. Kat just has a way with writing these type of characters.

This was a fun vacation/baseball/single bed romance that left me wanting one of my own. All the swoons.

Will de Kat Baxter seri The bad boys of Saddle Creek libro 3

Argumento:

Will

I loved this! The meet-cute is fantastic. Loved the fake-dating. Will and Esther talked openly and honestly with each other. The highlight of the book were Will's emails that he writes Esther while they are apart. They were very sweet, funny and heartfelt.

My only criticism would be that Esther said to herself more than once, and to Will, that "she's not that girl" - meaning she's not a girl to sleep with someone she barely knows very quickly after meeting. My problem with this is that it implies that people who do are a different kind of person. Also, how would Esther know she's "not that girl" if she's never had sex before?

Will by Kat Baxter is book Three in The Bad Boys of Saddle Creek Series. This is the story of Will and Esther. Esther is on a trip that her boyfriend planned before he became a ex-boyfriend. This lands her in Jamaica. There she found out that her ex had canceled the hotel which was a couples retreat of sorts. This is how she meets Will who steps up to help her and so starts their story. I enjoyed this book and I hope to read more from this author.

OMG!!! WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice quick, short read.

Will and Esther met when they both end up on a plane alone to Jamaica. Will is just trying to get away for a while. Esther is going with her boyfriend who wanted a romantic getaway. Esther's boyfriend Jaxon went to use the restroom at the last minute and Esther got on the plane. The doors closed and Esther is told that Jaxon isn't going to Jamaica. Esther talks to the lady that is seated next to her the whole way. Will can hear Esther talking and he knows he needs to met her, her voice has calmed and centered him. When they land in Jamaica Will follows Esther on the bus, then to the hotel. Will never booked his hotel, when Esther walks up to the counter she finds out her now ex-boyfriend cancelled their room. Esther tries to get another room, but is told it's a couples only resort. Will moved to Esther's side then kisses her. Will tells Esther to just play along, and ask if the room can just be unconcealed. They are told it's already been rebooked, so Will slides his black credit card on the counter and tells her he wants the nicest suite. The receptionist tells Will that they usually have reservations, he tells her it was last minute and asks if they're completely booked. Will tells the lady money is no object, they are given a casita and to enjoy their stay. After their luggage is carried inside Esther realizes she's in a hotel suite with a stranger. Esther asks him who he is, Will tells her he wonder why she was being complacent. Will explain they were on the same flight and he heard her talking about her boyfriend ditching her. Will tells her he's not a creeper, he has a younger sister and just wants to keep Esther safe. Will tells Esther that's it's getting dark and two hours from the airport, it just made sense they shared a room. Will offers to take Esther's picture and send it to his sister so she knows she's here with him. Esther tells him she could send it to her sister Astrid Micah but then she'd have to tell her what she was doing. They both introduce themselves, and talk about their families. Will tells her that there's only one bed, Esther tells him that's one of her favorite tropes. When Will send the picture to his sister, Audrey who asks who he's with. Will and Esther play a card game, then they get a message from the front desk about the storm. Esther tells him she doesn't like storms, so Will suggest they head to bed before it gets worse. Esther tells him she'll sleep the couch, Will tells her he'll take the couch, but she tells him he's to big for it. Will tells her that maybe tomorrow they can go to the beach, Esther thanks him for everything. Esther tells him, even though they just mad she feels completely comfortable with him. Will kisses her on the forehead, and head to the bedroom. Will tells her sometimes you meet someone you're supposed to know. A massive flash lights up the room and Will hears Esther squeak in the other room then her feet pattering across the floor. Will tells her he'll protect her, Esther apologizes for being a coward. Will dreams of making love to Esther. When he wakes up, she's snuggled against him. Will kisses her neck, then asks her to tell him more about the one bed trope, Esther whispers sexy snuggling. Soon Will is sliding his hands down Esther's panites, and pleasuring her. After they both have the most intense orgasm, Esther, jumps out of bed and runs into the bathroom. Esther doesn't know what she's doing, what was she thinking. Will knocks on the door and asks her what's going on. Esther tells him she's freaking out. Will tell her he figured, Esther tells him she's not that girl. Will asks her what girl, Esther tells him she doesn't sleep with strangers. Will tell her they're not strangers, and they did sex stuff. Esther tells him she doesn't do stuff with strangers, she not that girl. Will asks her if she can open the door, Esther tells him no. Will tells her to think of it as this is their private island dream what happens in Jamaica stays in Jamaica. Esther tells him she wants to be responsible, thats why she's freaked out. Will tells her not to freak out, she was seduced by the bad boy of baseball. Esther asks him what that means. Will explains to her that's what the media calls him, he's a catcher. Esther asks him why he didn't tell her, Will tells her it was nice not to be recognized. Will tells her the rain stopped if she wants to go to the beach. Esther tells him she doesn't know how to do this fun flirty vacation fling she's not strong enough to be an abandoned by him and having her heart broken. Will tell her they don't have to have a fling, but he wants to, he'll respect her wishes. They spend the day in a private cabana, then head to a restaurant, they talk about growing up in Texas. Will promises Esther that he won't try sexy things with her when a group of loud people come into the restaurant. Will notices one of the couples just got married, Esther asks him if he could imagine them doing that. Will tells her absolutely to the right person, Esther ask him if she suggested they get married what would he say. Will tells her he would say yes, let's get married. Esther tells Will she wished she grew up without her parents constraints, he asks her who would she be. Esther tells him she would be that girl, that lets the amazing man she met take advantage of the island. Esther tells him let's get married, Will tells her he thought she'd never ask. Will finds out one of the people in the group is an ordained minister, so he asks if he'll marry them. Will and Esther stand, soon they're married, Esther stand on her toes and kisses him. Will carries her out of the restaurant, Esther asks him what if she changed her mind about his morning. Esther tells him she wants her Jamaican husband to take her back and consummate their marriage. They start to head back to their room but Esther tells him she needs him, Will tells her he'll take care of her. Esther tells him she can't wait, Will heads to a stone bench off the main trial. Esther straddles Will's lap, then he pleasures her, and they make love. They head back to their casita and make love once again. When Will wakes up the next morning Esther is gone. Six months later, Esther still misses Will, he adhered to her request of not contacting her. Esther looked him up online, found out what baseball team he plans for and now follows the team. She watches him play, but she still doesn't understand why he's called the bad boy of baseball. Esther graduated college and moved back to Saddle Creek so she could run the bookstore. Her parents tried to get her to go back to Jaxon but the connection wasn't there. Will's just finished a game when his sister messages him, she tells him he'll thank her later. One of the other guys asks Will if it's true he got married. When Will looks at his phone he realize their wedding video is posted on one of the gossip sites. Will realizes his sister did this, and he's not angry. Will realizes his sister gave him the excuse to go find Esther. Will parks outside the bookstore, he looks up at the sign "Dog-Eared Books". Will finds Esther behind the counter, he kisses her, for the first time he feels peace since Jamaica. Will tells her he misses her, Esther tells him she seen the video. Esther tell him she'll play alone until he can find a story to explain their separation. Will told her she misunderstands, someone didn't link the video but that's not why he's here. Will tell her she'll understand, and then signs a piece of paper across the counter to her. Will tells her to log into this email address and read every email there when she is ready come find him he's at the park in the Square. Esther takes the paper and Will leaves the bookstore. Esther logs in and starts to read, she doesn't get half way through, she can't take it anymore. Esther needs his actual words, she wants to see him. Esther tells her employee she's needs a break and leaves. Esther finds him, Will asks her if she read everything, she tells him no not everything. Will tell her he sees, Esther tells him no he doesn't. Esther asks him if he came for a divorce, Will asks her if that's what she wants. Esther tells him to answer her question. Several months later, usually Esther is at the game with the other wives and girlfriends. Today she's waiting at home, it was Will last game for his current team. Will was traded to a team in Austin so he won't be so far away from Saddle Creek. They had to sacrifice time together between the team in Nashville and all his games. When Will comes home he finds Esther sitting on the stool in the middle of the room, her legs spread, and she's only wearing the ball cap from his new team. I enjoeyd Will and Esther's story. Though I wished the pacing was a bit slowed and I wanted more information, rather than a time jump after they went their own ways. But still, I enjoyed it. You can never go wrong with Kat's novellas.

Esther is getting ready to go on a romantic vacation with her boyfriend, when suddenly before boarding the plane he says he has to go to the bathroom, but tells her to board and he will follow. I’m sure you can guess what happens next. Luckily, on that plane and listening closely is Will, on vacation with no plan. When he decides to follow closely to Esther things start to heat up. For once Esther throws caution to the wind and enjoys herself. What happens in Jamaica stays in Jamaica.. right?

Thank you to the author for the book in exchange for an honest review.

Y’all know i love Kat and the words she shares. I don’t even look at the blurbs for her books anymore if shes writing it i’m reading it. When Will showed up in my email I downloaded it immediatly.

Will is the bad boy of baseball, he got that moniker for having a temper and in generally being a grumpy guy. His teammates are going on a ski vacation and they invited him but hes not really a people person, hes shy. Yeah he loves the game of baseball but he doesn’t like large crowds when hes not playing. Deciding he wanted sun and sand for his downtime he took off and picked a place when he got to the airport. Jamaica it is. On the plane he hears a woman talking about the man that left her at the airport. He doesn't know her but something about her soothes his soul. Her voice is a balm on him, it instantly interests him. He follows her to the resort shes going to and ends up helping her out.

Esther is about to go on vacation with her boyfriend, he planned this wonderful romantic getaway. Right before boarding is called he says he needs to go to the bathroom but he doesn’t come back. She boards and still no Jaxon. The flight attendant brings a customer down the aisle toward Esther and seats her with Esther. When Esther objects and says that her boyfriend is coming the flight attendant lets her know that he told her to tell his girlfriend that he wasn’t coming. Esther is shocked, she thought things were going well she doesn’t know what happened. Getting to the resort and finding out that the jerk canceled the room and left her there she doesn’t know what she’ll do, then a hot stranger is kissing her and she stays in a room with him. This man is too hot for her, she knows this. She must have died on the plane. He's sweet and makes her feel safe. But she's not that girl, she doesn’t do flirty fun weekends. Maybe she could though. JUST a weekend. Leaving after having the best weekend of her life with Will was harder to do than she thought, but it was for the best. At least thats what she tells herself.

These two were so cute and I loved Will and Esther, while she assumed someone as hot as him wouldn’t want her when he does show his attraction she doesn’t shy away,

This series is literally just the CUTEST. I’ve loved each of them so much and love how unique each of them is. The characters are well-written & very likable.

In this story, the FMC is headed to Jamaica w/ her boyfriend who ditches her at the airport and she’s stuck on the plane b/c the doors are closed.

I died laughing when she texted him after learning what he did…
“You’re a turd, and I hope you get a toenail fungus.” 🤣🤣🤣

The MMC, a baseball player taking a spur-of-the-moment trip, hears what happened and finds himself quite drawn to her. He follows her to her resort b/c he wants to meet her and upon arrival, hears that her ex cancelled her stay at a couple’s only hotel. He swoops in, kisses her and pretends to be her boyfriend so both of them have a place to stay.

It’s adorable as they get to know each other. She has no idea who he is and they both catch feels. There’s some drama (she’s kind of a dummy at times) and I won’t give away the story, but needless to say, I love the ending.

But if you liked the other stories, you’ll love this one. I hope there are many more!!!

I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.

Esther had been looking forward to the surprise vacation to Jamacia but when it becomes clear that she has been jilted at the gate an its too late to turn back she wonders just how much worse this could get, it turns out a lot worse when she arrives at the resort to discover that her now ex-boyfriend has cancelled the reservation. Just when she thought that the situation couldn’t get any more embarrassing, she finds herself paired up with a man worthy of a her favororite scoundrel and hero. Despite her reservations she is drawn to him in a way that she has never felt before. Could this trip be her destiny of her downfall?

Will Sexton the bad boy of baseball doesn’t believe in love is suddenly confronted by a woman that could have walked out of his fantasies, her angelic voice calms something ion him that he never knew was missing and he can’t let her go. He wasn’t meant to be on this flight or following her to a resort, but he knew where she went he would follow and when he discovered what her boyfriend had done he was ready to be her hero. For him this is his forever but when they spend a night together that ruins him for all other women and he wakes to being alone, will he claim his woman or let her go?

Sweet and addictive this series is becoming both of the main characters are easily loveable and you cannot but wish for them to get the forever that they deserve. 4.5* Read

WILL by Kat Baxter is a short story. If you are looking for a fast read than I think she is the best. This starts out with Esther Dubois is at the airport about to board a plane with her boyfriend for a romantic trip to Jamaica. She even thinks he will be proposing to her. Only just as they were about to board the plane, he needs to use the bathroom one more time, but tells her to board the plane. Well, she does but no boyfriend ever gets on the plane. She keeps waiting, but boyfriend is a no show. A flight attendant informs her that he canceled his seat. She tries to get off the flight, but it is too late, and his seat is even given to someone else. The woman in the seat next to her is very kind, and gladly listens to her sad tale of abandonment. She tells her that she is lucky to have seen his true colors before it was too late. Esther loves to read, and she still has her book boyfriends. There is a hunk of a male passenger that has been listening to her sweet voice tell of her heartbreak. He thinks of her as an angel, and he decides that he will make her his as soon as they get to Jamaica. A love at first sight!

Tropes: One Room/One Bed, Forced Proximity, Pretend Couple, Curvy Girl Romance, Instant Attraction

We all know that Kat Baxter is the Queen of Adorkable…. But I’m adding “Queen of Feels” to her moniker!!! Coz she made my heart explode with so much feels!! Omigosh imma ugly crying AF coz Will and Esther’s story was so darn freaken cute!! I love their instant connection. I love that Will drew Esther out of her shell. I love their spontaneous decision to get married… I did think it was hilarious that they both didn’t think it was real tho. But it was the way that Will showed Esther that he was 100% into her that had me applauding and bawling at the same time. Sooooo sweeeeet!! Honestly I’m smiling like a cray person!!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. I voluntarily review it and the comments are 100% my own.

My Star Rating: 5 stars
Ugly cried AF. Major book hangover. Characters and storyline were freaken amazeballs. Made me wanna hug the author for writing a book that gave me all the feels!! Will definitely be reading this story over and over and over again!!

Esther is getting onto a plane for a trip to Jamaica with her boyfriend Jaxon. However, Jaxon heads to the bathroom and decides not to go. What a piece of work! He does a few more things that made me wanna kick him a few times. So she goes on the trip and meets Will who is also on the plane to Jamaica. Will has ADHD, and has learned to use his hyper-focus for playing baseball and is one of the best catchers in the Major Leagues. Will prevents Esther from having to find a new hotel on short notice, this made me love him. You gotta read the book as it is steamy, romantic, cute, and just an absolutely awesome read. I loved it and can’t wait for the next book.

I also love Will’s sis Audrey. I hope she gets her own book soon. The book made me laugh, and do the whole girly squeal thing a few times. There are a couple of reveals that shocked me and a few things that made me wanna scream and punch things. I adore all the books set in Saddle Creek. I also love Esther’s sister. I laughed a lot in this book. Read the series, it is worth it!

The third installment of Kat Baxter's wonderful The Bad Boys of Saddle Creek series, Will is a super sweet and steamy bad boy / fake relationship short romance. College literature student Esther is on her way to Jamaica for a romantic couples trip when her boyfriend abandons her - then cancels their reservation. Will is a professional baseball player just looking to get away for a week - but when he hears Esther's voice on the plane, the man who has never thought he'd fall in love becomes instantly smitten. To secure accommodations at the couples-only resort, Will steps up and pretends to be Esther's significant other and as they weather a storm together, he is intent on taking things from fake to real. Will these two complete opposites admit to what is right in front of them, or will what happens in Jamaica stay in Jamaica? A highly entertaining steamy instalove romance with two very engaging lead characters.

Loved it.

Esther is supposed to be on a romantic trip to Jamaica with her boyfriend but he leaves her on the plane. Will is just getting away and happened to pick Jamaica and be seated not far from Esther on the trip down. He overhears her telling he seatmate what happened and his heart is doing funny things. They end up at the same resort, only to find out it's a couples only resort and they don't have a room. Will is able to get them a room for a few nights.

On the night before they leave, they run into a couple who just got married. Thier friend was ordained online to marry them and on a whim Will and Esther ask him to marry them. Neither thinking it was real. The next day they go their seperate ways.

Now months later, they are missing each other and Will decides to go see her. When he arrives in Saddle Creek will it be the end of his marriage or just the beginning?

The Bad Boys of Saddle Creek are hot, short, instalove stories and each one gets better and better

I decided that Esther would be my book BFF as soon as I read her thoughts on flying. That decision was confirmed when I read her last text to Jaxon. And when she stepped outside the confines of the “not that girl” box I couldn’t help giving a little fist pump.
Then there’s Will. Who could resist a guy who is athletic, loves to read and has dimples? Not to mention he is a complete romantic softie on the inside.
And I absolutely loved the wisdom of the older lady on the plane. “Everything may seem ruined, but you never know what you are going to be on time for”. And just as she predicted Esther and Will were right on time!

An amazing read of unbelievable insta-love that will leave you smiling. When Will over heard Esther tell her motherly seatmate her boyfriend ditched her on their romantic vacation to Jamaica as they got on the airplane. He thought what a scumbag the boyfriend was so he decided to follow Esther. Good thing to, because the boyfriend had canceled the reservations at a couples only resort with night coming on and a terrific storm do to hit at any time. Will stepped up pretending to be part of a new couple with her for a room managing to book lodging for them. She was a more reserved type person so she was having a great deal of problems with the whole possibility of their time together. He told her to look at it like what happens in Jamaica stays in Jamaica. Only maybe it didn't. The cutest short read of the year sofar.

Kat has once again given us a short, sweet, sexy read packed with oh so many emotions. Ester and Will have a super fun meet cute that leads to them being seat buds on a flight to Jamacia.
Ester is going away with her boyfriend when he literally leaves her at the gate. Now she finds herself on a solo vacation. Will is a high-profile baseball player that just needs immediate down time. He takes the first warm weather flight he sees. They now find themselves seat buds going to the same tropical destination. She has no idea who he is, and he wants to get to know this lovely woman a bit better and will do whatever in his power to make that happen! It only gets more interesting when they find themselves sharing a room at the posh resort! Pack your bags we are off on quite an adventure with this curvy sweet and sassy heroine and our handsome, romantic and very enamored athlete.

short and sweet - instalove

This book was short and sweet, but pretty simple. I’m not a fan of instalove stories though, so I think that’s why I can’t really rate it a lot higher. Esther gets dumped by her boyfriend at the airport as they are leaving for a vacation together. That was the weakest part of the story. It never really explained why Jaxon would treat her so poorly, especially when he works for her father, and later why her parents defend him. Will hears her voice on the plane and instantly she soothes him and he falls for her. That’s a popular trope but not one I prefer. The book picked up for me after that. Their island times are fun and the series of emails he wrote to her afterwards were great. The last half of the book was a lot better than the first half in my opinion. It ends on a fun note too. This is a quick read, a few hot scenes, simple plot. Very low angst. If you’re in the mood for something easy to read, this might be a good one for you.

I wanted to like this one more, I really did.
But going right into the book, I feel as if the author did me dirty.
Esther gets left at the airport by her boyfriend when they were on the way to Jamaica for a romantic getaway.
I want to know why Jaxon did this. He works with Esther's parents, wasn't he worried about any kind of backlash? Then for later in the story, the parents side with Jaxon and try to convince Esther to give him another chance? Like seriously, what the heck!
Will and Esther, their actual story was cute. I liked that Will right away knew he could let down his barriers with Esther and show her the real Will. Not the man that the media tries to play up. I absolutely loved that Will went so far as to write emails to Esther daily about the simple things in his day to day life while they were apart. I think it really showed that he wanted her for more than just their little island romance.

Trigger warnings

Esther traveled to the airport with her boyfriend. Right before boarding, he "went to the restroom," leaving her to get on the plane by herself. The flight attendant tells her he left and said he wasn't coming with her. Then, when she gets to the resort, she finds out he canceled her room. Will, for all intents and purposes, followed her from the airport to the resort. There are no other rooms available because it's a couples only resort. Will tells her to play along and books them a room. Somehow, they end up getting married, but then she pulls a runner on him. She didn't know their marriage was legal.

I enjoyed this book. It's book 3. Book 1 is still my favorite, but 2 and 3 were both great stories. I halfway expected their wedding night to have had consequences, though.

I should KNOW that when I read a Kat Baxter book, I’m not only going to love it but will most definitely devour it as quickly as I can! This book only goes to prove that fact. This book is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. Will is a pro baseball player and is seen as a bad boy. Esther is going to school and wants to run the family bookstore once she finishes school. There are a few tropes going on in this book and they all seem to work together very well. There is the forced proximity, he falls first, one bed for both of them and curvy girl to name most of them.
I just love Will and his antics. Esther is so afraid to trust him but he does his best to show her how much he loves her. I enjoyed reading this book so much! I can’t wait to reread it already!

Will and his Queen

I’ve formed the opinion that a big brother who takes care of his little sister, is the best kind of man. Will is that man, despite what the tabloids say about his Bad Boy of Baseball attitude.

Esther, despite knowing nothing about baseball, manages to catch Will, without trying, at the moment her life hits the lowest point it’s possible to hit.

Enter all. the. tropes:
Dumped on a plane
Sports Hero
Smart Heroine (who is clueless about sports)
Forced proximity
Vacation fling
Vegas-style wedding (in Jamaica)
Jane Austen

Read on to find out why Will and His Queen leave their gorgeous, smexy, chemistry in Jamaica and how love letters a la Jane Austen save this wildly adorable couple from a life without each other.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I purchased a copy. 🔥⭐️🔥⭐️🔥⭐️🔥⭐️🔥⭐️ from me!
