An accident shattered her life. Can she find the strength to let go of the past and embrace a fresh start?
When 45-year-old widow Olivia Watson makes a life-changing impulse buy on an online property auction, she becomes convinced that leaving her old world behind for the cozy coastal town of Pebble Beach is the only way to move on from her husband’s tragic accident and give their teenage kids a new start at life.
But the locals don’t care much for outsiders – all except real estate agent Patrick Dillon. Olivia swears she recognizes Patrick from somewhere, but she can’t seem to place it. Faced with the momentous task of fixing up their new home, she welcomes his help – and she quickly finds their friendship blossoming into a deep connection...even if their kids don’t get off on the right foot.
But her new home is hiding no shortage of secrets. As Olivia begins to unravel the mysteries behind the town of Pebble Beach, she’ll be faced with tough choices about family, love, and her future. Can Olivia find her second chance on the shores of this lovely town? And can she let go of her grief and learn to open her heart again?
The Beachside Home is a delightful read that will warm your heart and send you away on a picturesque adventure about one woman’s journey to love again.
The final short story to this series, I loved following Olivia and her family’s story of moving to The Beachside Home in Pebble Beach. The sea change with lots of twists connected to her husband who was deceased. A great wrap of the series which I throughly enjoyed reading.
This has been a good series but has it is in most of these books they wrap everything up in short order & always leave some things out. But Patrick’s sister did find happiness & moved to Las Vegas & was doing good with her new husband. That was amazing! What was Olivia’s decision about New York? They are both missing each other, but won’t admit it to each other. They are both alone & miserable on New Year’s Eve. Why are they being so stubborn? Why did we never found out about the house that burned down, why it burned down & why it was haunted? Was it all Roger’s plan so he could get his hands on the property? Why was these things never addressed? If it was real life it would have been investigated to see why the house caught on fire? There wasn’t anything ever mentioned about it. Why???
I received Thais ARC book for free and gave my Book Review for free in my own words. I do hope you enjoy it as much as I did! Happy reading!!
Spoiler Alert: The series overall was an interesting and quick read. Perfect for those who like a good story without having to have a ton of details. The story has mystery, warmth, humor, angst and characters that are likeable and human. This final part of the story wrapped up many of the story's issues in a satisfactory way but left the mystery of the haunting of the house unresolved. If it was haunted then by who and why. There was a sentence with a suggestion but it didn't flow with the haunting events that were taking place. I was happy for Patrick's sister who met someone on-line but really would he act the way he did when she got married to a man the day after meeting him in person?
I received an ARC of the book and I am leaving my review without influence from the author.
Another great series of stories. Olivia has certainly been through it all. Patrick was very protective of her and was in love with Olivia. She had the opportunity to go to NY, have a studio and sell her paintings. Patrick wasn’t happy with this and neither were her children. They wanted to go back home to be with their friends. Olivia’s old house was rebuilt and designated as a visitor’s center which made everyone in town very happy. Do you think Olivia and Patrick can have a future together? You will have to read this story to find out. I received an advanced free reader copy and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I enjoyed everything about The Beachside Home series and am sorry to see it come to an end but I know gifted author Hayley Summers will have something wonderful soon. I really felt a connection to Olivia and enjoyed her dynamic with the other characters especially Patrick. If you like well-crafted series reads, don't miss this one. I received an advance reader copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my review.
I just don’t understand why this had to be broken up into 6 books when could have been 1. Was good had lost of suspense in it. This ended with Olivia getting out of danger from the kidnapping.Patrick has a hard time blaming himself. Olivia get offer to move to NYC and tells Patrick he gets upset and just walks away. She doesn’t take the job but they still aren’t talking. On NYE he takes walk on beach, Olivia ends up there too. Olivia finally confused love for him.
Good finish and endings to all of the questions that arose and mysteries as well. Happy for lead characters Olivia and Patrick and their children. There was enough intrigue, mystery and realistic to keep me reading and not waning the series to end. Good job, as always.
I received an early copy for my honest and voluntary review.
Six books instead of one. Why? So many coincidences. What happened to the whole haunted house? What was the baby music all about? plot was thin. Character development was limited. I wanted to slap Patrick. Get over yourself. But, I read all 6 books...
All six books could easily, and should have, been condensed into one book. There were so many inconsistencies and the unanswered questions were the only thing that kept me reading, although the answers were a bit unbelievable. This final book to wrap everything up, well, you see the two star rating.
Great finish to a wonderful series. i really enjoyed this series and i am sorry to see it end. I really enjoyed the characters. I am glad that Olivia and Patrick got their happily ever after. I received an ARC and this is my voluntary review.
Every one of the 5 previous books was a lead into this books. They all ended with a cliffhanger and the story as it is ended with this book. I read them all because I usually finish a book when I start it. I will not pick another book by this author.
The writing in this book is so bad. Read this for “fun” on vacation and almost can’t believe how poorly written the series was. I kept reading for some reason lol! Predictable and strange seriously…
There were so many different directions of this book. At times it didn’t make sense, it was like all every idea the writer had was put into this one series of books.
W.ow the last mystery solved...Olivia finds her new best friend is so much more. Plus life continues to give good things back to her life when you seek it out.
I enjoyed reading all 6 of The Beachside Home series. Glad it ended with everyone living happily ever after. Thank you for your excellent story telling.
Wonderful stories with all six included! The characters brought happiness and love to each other! The kids learned from their parents that love conquers all!
I really enjoyed this series!! It was a mixture of clean romance, betrayal, heartbreak, friendship, little bit of thriller, drama, and ultimately happiness.
