Skylar Lawrence is the quiet sister. The one that doesn’t need to be the center of attention. The one who wants happiness above all else. She’s been content to stay in the background and support her sisters as their stars shine bright.
She internalizes her struggles. The lingering pain of losing her father, followed by the ending of her relationship with the man she thought was her forever.
For the first time in a year, she meets a man that intrigues her. A sexy stranger that seems as affected by her as she is by him. She gives in to her desires, only to find out moments later that he’s about to become her professional enemy.
They battle for the most coveted project in the industry. Their passion on the battlefield threatens to bleed from the boardroom to the bedroom. Constantly teetering on that fine edge until it becomes too much for both of them.
Has she finally met the perfect man? The man who both showers her with adoration and supports her eccentric fantasies. Perhaps she’ll get her HEA, just like her sisters. That’s until the past comes back to threaten their future.
Known as the queen of RaunchCom, AK Landow is a spicy RomCom author. She’s a recovering attorney living outside of the Philadelphia area with her husband, who she secretly pined for through her teen years, three crazy daughters, and multiple animals.
She enjoys reading, now writing, drinking copious amounts of vodka, and laughing. Having discovered there’s no other need in the world for funny perverts, she’s thrilled to have this new avenue to channel her age-inappropriate sense of humor.
She began her publishing journey with the City of Sisterly Love series, initially writing the first book, Knight, because it pisses her off that there are so few FMCs over the age of 40. She wrote it as an FU to the romance community to let them know that "oldies" still get it on. She fell so madly in love with both being an author and her fictitious family, that she can't seem to stop writing.
The entire series centers around a group of strong, intelligent, confident, and supportive women. The central family is known for severe cases of oversharing and walking in on each other. Hilarity often ensues.
The Belles of Broad Street series debuted in 2023 with Conflicting Ventures. Indecent Ventures and Unexpected Ventures followed shortly thereafter. The final book in the series, Enchanted Ventures, came out in early 2024. It world shares with the City of Sisterly Love series, but can be read as standalones.
2024 also became the year AK entered the sports romance world. Staying true to her goals of portraying strong women, her debut sports romance novel, Double Play, is both a baseball AND softball romance. It's the first in the Extra Innings series, which is now complete with four full-length novels and a prequel novella.
In 2025, AK is looking forward to diving into the world of women's basketball and men's football. The first book in the Fourth Quarter Fever series will be Home Town Advantage, coming on September 4, 2025.
Her writing is known for laughs, tears, and being one-handed reads.
Finally - FINALLY - AK Landow brings us the elusive Lawrence sister: Skylar Lawrence. But by so doing she kicks off a brand-spanking-new-series!!!! OMG the excitement is almost too much to handle. *deep breaths *deep breaths
Thus far in the City of Sisterly Love series (AK's first series), AK has given us a bit of the youngest Lawrence sister, the beautiful, smart. and somewhat reserved Skylar throughout each of the books. And we have loved every part of her! But we've all wanted to know so-so much more about her: what's her deal? What's up with her long-term boyfriend? What's she like behind closed (bedroom) doors? ... oh come on, we all want to know because we know all about her sisters, her mother, her aunt... she's the one person we don't know about! Haven't we all been desperately wanting to check that box of voyeurism? ... no? It's just me? Well fine, at least I'm admitting to it. #sorrynotsorry
But anywho - so in this new series the Belles of Broad Street, AK launches us into the... well, kind of corporate world of our favorite characters. Skylar, for obvious reasons, and Lance, whom we were introduced to in "About Last Knight" - who is Melissa's nephew. The two of them end up battling it out in the board room and we hope they'll battle it out in the bedroom too! Hey-yo!
When we met Lance, AK depicts him as this very smart and driven young man who isn't afraid to go against the grain, which is evident in that he left the family farming business and came to pursue his dreams in the big city. With his aunt's help, he's able to start pursuing his dreams in earnest and those turn of events lead to the meet cute between him and Skylar which is..... ohhh myyyy goooddd it is just so hot. Get the fan out, you're going to need it. But we know this about AK: we know her characters are adventurous and sexy as sin when it comes to chemistry and attraction - but yet... dang you girl, you get me every single time, with every single book, with every single set of new characters! You just keep blowing it out of the park with them and their antics! The roller coaster you bring us on has us laughing our assess off!! No freekin' joke on that - I know for a FACT that I will be laughing so hard at every AK Landow book - and "Conflicting Ventures" is no different. But AK also always has us swooning for characters who are complex and compassionate, sweet, sexy, boundary-pushing, and don't really give AF - all of which I find so compelling and inspirational in many ways.
So, this book "Conflicting Ventures," has all of that AND a bag of tricks. For me, this book resolves so many things - the lingering thoughts and questions we had about Skylar and her situation, dynamic and it also wraps up a lot of things about Scott for us (I love you Scott). There are so many sweet and heartfelt moments that happen in this book, and Lance is perhaps one of AK's most sweetest characters and it has us just absolutely falling head over heels in love with him. BUT, but - don't get too comfortable because this wouldn't be an AK Landow book if she didn't throw us for a loop or two... or three or four. And for me, this book.... ohhhh this book - make my heart bleeeeeed AK, you just tore it out, stomped on it, and had it so torn up with this book!!! I needed days - nay, weeks!!! - to recover from this book because I SOOOOOO lived myself into it and FELT every emotion, every challenge... there's so much to this book! It is beautiful, honest, raw, emotional, true, sexy, sensual, funny... it is all the dang things and I for one cannot wait (!!!) for more of the Belles of Broad Street. This series is off to one hell of a start and AK Landow just keeps getting better, and better - and freekin' better!!!! - with every book!
One last thing (and if you've made it this far, thanks for reading my love ramblings about AK and her books that I'm beyond addicted to), the cover of this book - the visual language that she's created for this new series is... I love it so much! The models depicting Skylar and Lance are just beyond perfect - I mean, I had imagined Lance as a gorgeous guy but this cover model just catapults him into another stratosphere! And the beautiful Skylar, this model is everything that we've thought Skylar is. And together?!?! Holy hotcakes! The way that "Lance" is looking at "Skylar" says so much about what is to come on the pages you'll be flipping through when reading this book. <3
Beautiful, beautiful and so amazingly sensually sexy. Gimme more, AK! Give me so much more.
How fun that this is a spin off series of the City of Sisterly Love series by A.K Landow, and we get to learn about Skylar. If you have never read the Sisterly series, you can definitely start off with this as a standalone (but I do recommend reading them all of course, they’re great!) AK Landow does a good job explaining who everyone is, but there is also a handy family tree in the book (there are a lot of characters to remember). I love that it involved the family businesses, and Skylar is competing against Lance for a coveted account. He is the first guy she has felt anything for since her ex broke her heart the year before. The family dynamics are crazy and hilarious. If you like large families with close ties, this is definitely one of them. This also has: 🤍 Dual POV 🖤 Cinnamon Roll MC 🤍 Slight Love Triangle 🖤 Workplace Romance 🤍 Rival to Lovers 🖤 Comedy (raunch com) 🤍 Spice
🎧 The audio is available as of today Heather Firth and Jeremy York were amazing as always, I love these two narrators 👏🏼
This feels like long time coming. So glad it's finally Skylar's turn . The shy, quiet and reserved sister , always there as a strength to her family and support them. But felt left out as she was not outgoing like her siblings and step siblings. Enter Lance seems like a male version of Skylar but with small town feels and thrusted into the big city life. Respectful, courteous, polite . After a chance encounter between Sky and Lance sparks, fireworks the big bang happens. Part ways and move on. Enter the Knight family. Lance has a job lined with Knight Investments which means nothing but fun and crazy time with the knight brothers oh and also the hard grind of corporate work! Corporate life thrusts in each other's space and boy the times it brings about. A whole lot of laughs , sexy time and serendipity. This book is so on point with the running theme from the previous series, that makes you read this book in awe. Nothing can prepare you for the ride that is conflicting ventures. Loved it so much!
Tropes: 🔥Enemies to Lovers 🫦Role-Play 🔺Love Triangle 🍭Cinnamon Roll 💪🏻Strong FMC 🤣RomCom (RaunchCom)
AK Landow you have done it again! I will always know to have a box of tissues next when I am reading one of your books. Those flashbacks were so sweet & made me shed some tears. I laughed..A LOT. The “teaching scene” had me laughing so hard…That scene will FOREVER live rent free in my mind! 💛 THOSE spice scene HOLY HELL were they HOTT! The role-plaring?! Absolute Dream Perfection. After reading those I told hubby there will be some sexy role-playing during our sexy time in the NEAR future!
One-Handed Read: ✅
If you haven’t yet, I HIGHLY recommend you read the City of Sisterly Love Series to get the whole background story on Skyler & her family. Definitely a series you do not want to miss out on! 💛 First of all, let me just say I love seeing the whole Brady bunch family again in this new series. 💛 So glad to finally have Skylar’s story. Skylar works for her sister Reagan at Daulton & Lawrence Holdings. She’s left heartbroken after her ex of 4 years breaks up with her & finds it hard to trust another man again but as time passes, she realizes she needs to get back out there if she wants to find her forever like all of her sisters found. She has always been the shy, quiet and reserved of her sisters but after reading this book, you wouldn’t think so. 💛 Lance comes from a small town & religious parents who have a plan for him to follow in his dad and siblings footsteps but he chooses to follow his dreams of making the move to the big city & go to business school. With the help of his aunt, he gets an opportunity of a lifetime at Knight Investments. 💛 Skylar and Lance’s first time meeting each other was at Regan’s birthday party & for the first time she gives in unaware that Lance is her stepfather’s ex-wife's nephew and then finding out that he is about to be her professional enemy and they both are aiming to win a project for their bosses companies. 💛 It gets heated in the boardroom & their chemistry is astronomically off the charts. If you think they are passionate about their work, just wait till you see how REALLY passionate & INTENSE they are in the bedroom. If only I could have a one full night in bed with Lance… wait make that a FULL DAY with him in bed! 💛 Will Skylar finally get her HEA or will the past come back and threaten her future? Read & Find Out 💛 I can’t wait for what’s next! I NEED & WANT MORE! 💛 AK you know how to pull on our heartstrings and I can hold back the water works with your amazing writing 💛 You are truly an amazing author and so glad to be a part of your ARC team and hype team and can’t wait to read more of your work. So glad I found you and your work when I did. 💛
Wowzers! Conflicting Ventures was beyond amazing! I was so looking forward to Skylar's story and it was beyond my expectations!
Skylar has recently come out of a four year relationship after finding out her boyfriend cheated on her. Lance just left his small home town to move to the city for business school and to try to reconnect with his Aunt Melissa. The two meet at Reagan's birthday party and... spend some time together 😏 not knowing who the other is. Not only do they find out their connection to each other but also that they will be competing for the same account, Lance working with Jackson and Skylar with Reagan. Things take a heated turn when they are in close proximity to each other and find they can't keep their hands off one another. So many issues pop up that want to force them apart, hopefully the stars will align and they can make it through.
Once again I find myself repeating my mantra of "sleep is for the weak". I think I took a two hour "nap" from 3 to 5 am when once again the kindle plummeted to the floor waking me up. Do I go back to sleep? With this book? God no. Picked up right where I left off and finished by 7 am. It was so good! Skylar is this fantastic character that has things to figure out especially in the years after her father's death but learns from all the choices she makes. Lance is...yum! He is up there with Carter level book boyfriend material (maybe even higher). He grows so much from this niéve farm boy to this confident man. Top it off with the Knight/Lawrence shenanigans and I was rolling laughing and swooning (looking at you epilogue).
If I could give this more than ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I totally would! The evolution of Lance's "experience" makes this 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶 HOT! I can not wait for more!
Jason did Skylar so dirty in the prologue. Lance and Skylar are beyond perfect for each other. Oh my is this book hot and smutty. This book is so sweet but it is hot. Like hot hot. I haven’t read a book that has such good scenes. It seems like it's back to back but it's because everyone is so open and loving. Not only was this good using speechify but it is so much better reading it. If there is an audio version ever made it will be amazing. You need to read this book and the whole series. I cannot wait to read book two. Lord, this book brings out all your emotions. I can say I had a bad time after getting ready to go out and decided to finish listening to this while waiting on my husband and it was all I could do not to cry. The ending was the best I have ever read. I cannot spoil it for anyone who is reading this but let me tell you. The constellations now have a different meaning to me. I will never forget it. A.K. Landow thank you for writing such an amazing book. I cannot wait to read the next one. Jumping to it next. I have never read better acknowledgments than there is in this book. The one for her family is the best. Even though I am not an author myself. I felt the part of your daughter tolerating you. Kids are hard but daughters are tough.
This book was my first by AK & I’m excited for more. Realizing that this series is related to her City of Sisterly Love series, I can’t wait to read those and learn even more about this wacky family. The writing and world building is impressive.
This story follows Skylar on her quest to find her place amongst her crazy family, in love and in life. This book gave me all the feels. I laughed out loud many times. Shed some tears. I was quickly sucked into this story and couldn’t wait to see what each new page brought. I LOVED this book!! Highly recommend! Although I'm unsure if I'll ever see grapefruit the same way again. Hahaha
This book marked my debut with AK, and boy, am I hooked for more! Discovering the ties to her City of Sisterly Love series has me itching to dive into that wild world of hers. The storytelling and universe she crafts are seriously top-notch. Picture Skylar, fresh out of a four-year relationship post-cheating scandal, and Lance, a newbie in the city striving for a fresh start with his Aunt Melissa. Sparks fly, but when work rivalry kicks in, they opt for a strictly professional vibe. Oh, the drama! But as fate would have it, family meddling brings them together on a project. Jeremy York and Heather Firth give life to Lance and Skylar's chemistry in a way that's pure magic - the ultimate audiobook dream team!

OMG, I love this crazy family. I can't wait to gobble up this series. Skyler Lawarence has two very brass sisters. She is considered the quiet one of the group. Her father's passing hit her very hard. He understood her quiet nature and nurtured it. This book is a great opening to what could only be a phenomenal series. This family is huge and the connections are endless. I loved they they were also I close family. Darian, Skyler's mother, brings everyone together and allows them to be their authentic selves. Lance Remington is ready to get away from small town life. That includes his girlfriend of ten years. He knows he has an aunt that no longer interacts with the family. He reconnects with her in Philadelphia and meets her huge family that embrace him from the beginning.
Lance and Skyler's first meeting is at Reagan's birthday party. When I say their first meeting was one for the record books, ya'll Skyler showed out. Despite the obvious chemistry, the two find out they are competing for the same job and decide to keep things professional. Family has a way knowing what you need before even you do. Somehow they end up working on the project together. The close proximity just amplifies the feelings that they are trying to fight. When they finally give in, things are electric. These two just fit together. It seems like everything that happened in their lives has led them to each other.
I loved the way readers are given a glimpse of pivotal moments in the main characters lives. We get to see what shapes Lance and Skyler to be the people that they are today. I loved, loved, loved this big brash family. I can't wait to get to know all of them better. I will probably demolish this series. It is just too good to put down. On to the next book.
*I listened to the audiobook* This was my first book by this author. And I'm truly late to the game. I loved it! I'm going to have to go back and listen to her other series. Skylar and Lance are the sweetest and hottest couple. I love them. And I need more books with role playing. That was 🥵. Definitely a one handed read. Heather Firth and Jeremy York narrated and they were fantastic. I can't wait to continue the series.
A city girl and a country boy fall in love? Sign me up!
Skylar Lawrence is the quiet sister. The one that doesn’t need to be the center of attention. The one who wants happiness above all else. She’s been content to stay in the background and support her sisters as their stars shine bright. She internalizes her struggles. She struggles even more due to the lingering pain of losing her father. After a bad breakup, she feels even more vulnerable. After a year of struggling, she meets Lance, a sexy stranger. They immediately hit it off, only to find out they are to battle it out for the most coveted project in their industry. Will they be able to resist each other, or can they get their HEA? This is all complicated further when something from Skylar’s resurfaces.
I really enjoyed this opposites-attract love story. Skylar and Lance come from completely different worlds; a city girl and a country boy. Even the way they were raised, and their family dynamics are so very different. They find love through their mutual love of astronomy and kinks.
This book was everything! I really loved how the author dove into the story and the characters. So much was explored, from their back and forths at work. To their backstories and what really makes them who they are. There was so much emotional depth, as well as enough banter and fun when needed. I especially fell in love with Lance and his gentlemanly ways (and slight dominance behind closed doors). This was overall an emotional, yet fun read! Loved it!
The narration was just chef’s kiss 🤌💋 ! Narrated by Heather Firth and Jeremy York, both were perfection! They were both able to capture the characters’ personalities perfectly! Firth did excellent at capturing the strong, fierce, yet vulnerable personality of Skylar. York was also amazing at portraying the kind, nerdy country boy, and at times, dominant Lance. Their voice really fitted the characters. Both were able to bring out all the emotions that the characters were feeling throughout the book. An absolute pleasure to listen to! I highly recommend!
This is book 1 in Landow's Belles of Broad Street series and I found this to be a wonderful listen. The dual narration was perfectly done, and I loved that these narrators brought our main characters of Lance and Skylar to life! I will admit the beginning of this read with the going back in time, then current, then back - I thought oh boy, this is totally gonna mess with my mind - but honestly, Landow did it wonderfully and I didn't ever feel lost in the storyline. The chemistry between Lance and Sklyar was instant, and I loved their intro as well as how their relationship or lack thereof progressed. I also very much enjoyed Skylar's family dynamic - omg, her sisters had me laughing so hard. I also really appreciated the differences in how Skylar's family was when compared to Lance's and I appreciated that while so different there again was growth and Lance never complained about there not being a feeling of love as he grew up... I think that's super important that not every family is the same but that doesn't mean they love any less - but again growth. Lance was the perfect guy - sweet, willing to learn and eager to please and when it came down to it - stood up for himself too! I loved that while sweet he wasn't a pushover and that's really important too. If you can't tell already - I just really loved this book - it had me swooning with the sweet and steamy romance as well as laughing out loud and moments of tears as well. A beautiful journey. I can't wait for more!!
This book was given to me for free at my request and I voluntarily provided this review. *This review is based on the audio version of this read.
Conflicting Ventures had me feeling all the feels. I smiled, I cried and I laughed.. hard!
Lance is from small town and has always known he was made for the city. His family’s beliefs and way of life aren’t how he wants to live anymore. Skylar is the youngest of three sisters and was always more of a thinker and looked for signs to tell her what to do. She believed there was always something more.
At her sisters birthday party, Lance spills his beer on her and they have an instant attraction. And they both help themselves to some pleasure. But it is short lived when they are competing against each other to score a big deal for the city. One they both fight hard for. When it’s finally decided they are going to merge and work together all bets are off and the attraction they feel can’t be ignored any longer.
The conference room gets used for both business and pleasure. And the pleasure the two of them give to each other is 10/10. The way the things they do to each other only magnify how the other feels had me drooling.
Besides the spicy scenes being incredible, I LOVED the family dynamic and how open and honest they all were with each other. I loved how much Skylar’s sisters teased them and I loved how Sensei Trevor tried to help Lance out. Another thing that had me feeling all the feels were the flash backs and comparisons to Skylar’s father!
I am obsessed with Skylar and Lance’s chemistry and intimacy. Who doesn’t want someone to offer them the stars!
“Marry a man one day who wants to give you a skylight in your bathroom so you can look at the stars.”
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5 (you got the elusive 5 star spice rating out of me again AK Landow😉)
I have been WAITINGGGGG for Skylar, don’t get me wrong I love every single character in this chaotic family, but I was always drawn to Skylar. She’s a dreamer and an over thinking just like me.
💋Dual POV 💋Enemies to lovers (more like lovers to enemies to lovers) 💋Role-Play 💋Cinnamon Roll MMC 💋Strong FMC
Skylar meets a man that intrigues her at her sisters party just to find out he will be the man she is competing with for a business proposal. The tension is high as they both try to stay professional but you shall see if their passion wins out in the end 😉
“No one will ever touch you again. You.” Slam. “Are.” Slam. “Mine.” Slam.
Excuse me sir? What happen to the man who says sweetie and ma’am every other sentence? We love a cinnamon roll guy with a dirty mouth 🥵 I’m sorry but the intruder scene will live rent free in my head for the rest of my days.
What would be an AK Landow book without laugh out loud scenes? All I’m going to say is: Grapefruit, Sensei Trevor, breakfast scenes, and bachelorette party. You’ll find out more when you read 🤣
And of course we get to see all the other characters living their happy lives that I feel like I’m apart of after all these books 🥰
I'm not sure how I'm meant to put into words or even write a review that can do this book justice. AK, you have done it again. Book 7 as just totally blew me away. This is book one in the new series Belles of Broad Street I would definitely recommend reading the City of Sisterly Love series first so you can experience the whole lot of the Lawrence and Knight gang, believe me when I say you will not be disappointed. I'm so glad we have finally got Skylars story it seems like we have been waiting for ever,(but honestly, we haven't), but it was so worth the wait. I loved every minute of Lance and Skylars story it was beautifully written and totally pulls at your heart strings, one minute you are crying 😢 and the next you are laughing, but I wouldn't have it any other way, I absolutely love how AK as the ability to pull you so far into the story you lose your self totally. Just written bloody perfection for me!!!! I don't want to give loads away, so download and read it for yourself. I will say that Chapter 7 is one of the absolute best chapters just so funny. I will never see a grapefruit in the same way again.😂😂😂 For me, 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ are just not enough for this book. And spice as gotta be 🌶🌶🌶🌶. My author genius has done it again. Congratulations, AK!😘 I can't wait for more 💕💕
First and foremost, when I heard this book described as a “RaunchCom” I had no idea what to expect. Lol. But I was pleasantly surprised how much this book touched my heart!! It even made me cry. I fell in love with Skylar and Lance immediately!! I’m honestly glad this was my first read by AK Landow and I’m so excited to read her other stories to see how all the family member’s fell in love.
Skylar and Lance were truly made for each other and watching them grow together made my heart so full!! I not only fell in love with the story but also with how AK Landow writes!! The plot was amazing, the family bonds left me feel full, the laughs had me clutching my stomach, and the spice left me wanting more. This was a heartfelt story I didn’t want to end!
I’m looking forward to her other books! Thank you AK Landow for blessing me with an eARC, I definitely need this on my bookshelf.
You don’t want to miss this amazing story! Releasing May 9th.
This is my first experience reading A.K. Landow's work and I gotta say I'm extremely impressed. I really loved the writing style and how the characters connected. The personalities of Skylar's family had me laughing most of the book. There's so many high points of this book that will have you laughing but it also hits so sad points and it really brings it all together. The pet names they come with for the guys is hilarious but I love how they make perfect sense too.
Skylar is a very headstrong character even with her sad history and slow grievance over her loss. Even without her family knowing all truths they all stick together and help each other through it. I am so thankful for the family chart at the beginning because this family is huge. With that being said, even with the gigantic family each character fits perfectly in the story. Lance was so adorable. I love how he stayed true to himself but thrived on what made her happy!
I love a Enemies to Lovers story but this one was just amazing. I love the dynamic between all the characters. This book will have you loving so hard you cry, crying and it will bring out the angry in you as you read it. It definitely takes you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions.
In this story we meet Skylar who has always thought of herself as an outsider in her family. She had a special connection with her father, and they shared a love for stars. I think the author did a great job on giving you a wonderful back story of this family. You then are introduced to Lance who put his life on hold to make his parents happy and is now finally doing what he wants. So, Lance moves to the city and reconnects with his Aunt Melissa. Skylar and Lance meet at a party and then again when they are going up for the same project. Skylar works for her sister's company and Lance works for Jackson's, Skylar's stepfather's, company and they are trying to get the same job. They have instant chemistry, when giving their project previews.
As you go on this rollercoaster ride with the characters you meet their families. I love the dynamic that her family has as one and with Lance's Aunt Melissa's family. The families are very open with each other, and it definitely reminded me of my family. I can't wait to read the rest of this series and the books about the other family members that are mentioned.
I received this book as an ARC and leave this review willingly.
Wow, this was my first book by this author and it was perfect. I was drawn in by the style of writing and the plot. The story started with a lot of background story so it went back and forth to the past at the beginning. Each past made sense to the present situations. I absolutely adored Lance and Skylar. They were so perfect for each it. Both odd one out in the family. I loved Skylar thinking about the universe giving her signs, because that's me!! I'm a firm believer for signs and things happening for a reason. I loved learning about the stars too, as I'm a big fan of star gazing. They both are trying to move on from long relationship. One Chance accident ends up with a non sex Steamy encounter. Before they can even think about pursuing these emotions they are told they're going to be business rivals. Yep that sucks. Months go by with angst and finally they let go and it's glorious!! (Thanks to Trevor and Co for Tip 😂🥵) When the stars might look like they're aligning for them both, Skylar's past comes back and shocks her with information. What happened in the past wasn't the truth, now she is on a crossroad. This part really hurt me for both Skylar but mostly Lance. I liked how both of their characters continued to develop and showed vulnerability at times. Oh and the family, as It was a first for me I was like poor Lance. The extended family have no filter! I'm telling you no filter and I was constantly howling at all their conversation, no matter where they were. I absolutely loved it. They were so close to each other but with no boundaries haha. I will have to go and check out that series as I am Intrigued by all their relationship. Oh if you like spice then you're in for a treat. I especially loved the role play scenes 🥵🥵🥵. They definitely did the job lol. This book was everything, it had Family, Friendship, Banter, Humour, Loss, Love, Emotion, Heartache and lots of Steam. Highly recommend, go get yourself a copy and enjoy.
Who would think a book could be super sweet, super sexy, kink factor exploding, and HEA all rolled up between these pages?? With enough drama a real life sadness to keep the pages moving. Apparently AK Landow. I was listening to this book while driving and was laughing so hard I was crying. The other drivers likely thought something was wrong with me. 🤣 Right after the grapefruit scene I texted my reading crew to tell them to drop everything and read this book. And this was in the first quarter of the book. And it ended just as good.
What a fun story! I enjoyed meeting Skylar and Lance. Star crossed lovers! They both are so darn cute! I enjoy their meet cute and everything after. Seeing her family and how they (especially the men) embrace Lance made me laugh and I feel my face would be red at family functions. Ha Ha! I am used to family being involved in life but not that much. His family was interesting as well but for a different reason.
Throughly enjoyed this one. I did listen to it on audio. Jeremy York and Heather Firth did a wonderful job on narration.
Honestly, if i could give this book a million stars, I would. I laughed so hard I was crying and almost peed myself. I cried. I swooned. It was amazing. Skylar and Lance are 🥵😏❤️
After having her heart broken Skylar waited over a year before she let someone near her again. Lance is a small town country boy trying his hand at the big city life. The two become close very quickly but what will happen when the plot twist happens and the one that broke her returns? I loved listening to Heather Firth and Jeremy York bring this raunch com to life! I laughed so much during this story. I wanted to be a part of Skylar’s family. Highly recommend this story. I know AK Landow has gained a new fan.
Such a cute book!! I laughed and giggled, I was in awe of the smut. ESP one br€ak in scene in particular haha I loved it. It was light hearted and a great plot!
I was so excited to read about Skyler and find out what made her tick. So I already know this family are open and have very colourful conversations with each other, this book was on form for all of the above and then some. Skyler makes out with a very hot man at her sisters party, what she didn’t realise at the time was exactly who he was. After a shitty break up with Jason, Skyler has had a long break from men since then. But she was bowled over by this hottie who knew his way around just removing a stain! Meet Lance, Melissa’s nephew. Lance has moved to the city from a small village and is studying and Melissa has landed him a bit of a side hustle at Jackson’s company. And he is hellish good at it! What started as fun, Skyler and Lance become professional competitors with a huge project in the industry. Going head to head is challenging, working together might be even more challenging but in other ways.
I devoured this book in less than 24 hours. I really enjoy A K Landow’s style of writing, love her humour and all the crazy that goes on. Keep them coming AK! Can’t wait for the next book!!
I DEVOURED this book. It was so good. But I honestly expected nothing less from A.K. Her writing is amazing and really keeps you interested. Lance was absolute perfection. He was a sweet gentleman until he was with Skylar. Their chemistry as off the charts and not just in the bedroom. or bathroom...or office...SO GOOD. I highly suggest everyone reads all of A.K.s books. I've said it once and I'll say it a million times...Cass is still holding the number 1 spot. Shes hilarious.
This book was my first by AK & I’m excited for more. I’m honestly glad this was my first read by AK Landow. Realising that this series is related to her City of Sisterly Love series, I’m so excited to read her other stories to see how all the family member’s fell in love. The writing and world building is fantastic.
This story follows Skylar on her quest to find her place amongst her crazy family, in love and in life. This book gave me all the feels. I laughed out loud many times. Shed some tears. I was quickly sucked into this story and couldn’t wait to see what each new page brought. I loved this book and I highly recommend it! Although I'm unsure if I'll ever see grapefruit the same way again.
Skylar and Lance were truly made for each other and watching them grow together made my heart so full!! I not only fell in love with the story but also with how AK Landow writes!! The plot was amazing, the family bonds left me feeling full, the laughs had me clutching my stomach, and the spice left me wanting more. This was a heartfelt story I didn’t want to end!
I absolutely loved this book. From opening scene to the very end. You root for Skylar and Lance. This whole family is absolutely hilarious and so full of love. Skylar is so quiet compared to the rest and self-contained. Meet Lance the sweet farm boy...all I can think when she says Farm boy is Wesley from The Princess Bride and boy does he end putting some possessive naughty into the sweet Farm boy persona and it was hot!!! I am down for it all.
