This book is awesome. There are so many wonderful things about it: clearly written, easy to read, free of jargon. Accessible ideas about positive parenting and a strong call to action for parents.
I work in Special Education, and I especially appreciated Lyons’s approach for working with the school. Sometimes, parents come in hot to IEP meetings, and I can’t help but think how unnecessary it can be (sometimes it is warranted, granted). The school absolutely wants to help. We wouldn’t be working at a school if we didn’t genuinely care about how to best help and educate children. We are all on the same team. I love how Lyons points out how important it is to share information. Parents and educators are teammates and exchanging information is so important for the child’s success and happiness.
Will absolutely be adding this one to the list of resources for parents.
Another wonderful aid for Parents, from this Author!
It is clear to see that this Author is writing with self understanding and in a way that any Parent thar has a Child, that displays such behaviours, can relate to and understand. I found this book to be extremely helpful and am grateful for the clear amount of effort that has gone in to it. I wholly recommend this book for all those that need more awareness and information about this area of Parenting.
Maybe a 5 star IF titled "Children with ADHD." There is a lot of good information in this book, but nothing that goes out of the general knowledge to ADHD to me. It addresses more prevention strategies and not active defusing strategies. It was very frustrating to read, and the title is very misleading. Thanks, but we are already doing positive rewards and bedtime routines, and trust me, the teachers and I have met.
Another great book by the author. This book breaks down helpful steps for managing explosive behavior in a way that seems feasible and realistic. I have started to implement these strategies and have seen success! Great read.

This book is really insightful and helped me a lot as I’m setting out on this journey with my son. It’s hard but having books like this helps you to not feel alone and makes you look at things in a different way. I really found this book helpful. Definitely would recommend.
This book is so insightful, and manages to cover every topic I have ponderedover having an add child with explosive emotions. SO glad to have read this, and highly recommend. You won't regret this.
Had some good stuff but definitely skimpy on actual helpful information and details about the PEACE method, or detailed ways to help defuse explosive behaviour.
