Vicious. Chaotic. Gods.

What once was sweet has turned vile.

I covet death.
He thrives in darkness.

Our sacrilegious desires run rampant.
Our maleficent demons demand to be sated.

Mercy finds no refuge in our hearts.
Insanity takes courtship within our minds.

Together, we embark on a path saturated in blood and rotting corpses.

We won’t stop until we find what we’re looking for.
If we must set this world on fire, we’ll do it and dance in the flames.

When this is over, you’ll hear the crows singing our names.

degenerates_hellions_cover-reveal-banner

so I enjoyed this one a lot it was sick As!!! if you get my drift.
Totally hardcore from the onset this pushed all my diabolical and totally devious buttons and as such if you do have any particular triggers just do be aware as this doesn't hold back when it comes to the bloody gore and murderous mayhem.
There are no inhibitions or brakes when it comes to certain behaviours between these pages.
"Hellions" itself is the complete story of Maliki and Nyx but it does need to be experienced in sequence as each piece of the puzzle continues an ongoing story arc.
so I really liked The dynamic between Maliki and Nyx and surprisingly to me, I was actually much more invested with these two than I was with Addy and Zane previously.
I mean I liked both obviously it's just that Maliki and Nyx had that slight edge for me.
Maliki is so deliciously brutal and defective and Nyx is his female mirror image.
They understand each other's brand of broken brillance and each can be true to themselves around the other.
Collectively they are one complete whole beautiful in there psychopathic purity.
Almost like a psychotic twin flame lol.
Loved that they became so close and got such good friends and totally got why they were both anxious over maybe losing the person who quieted there inner demon's.
Also got how the combination of him and Nyx's might have been too explosive to contain and it was something Maliki initially worried might be too much merged as one.
I was observing in avid glee when Maliki eventually loosened the reins and took the advice of others and totally unleashed his inner psycho, reining sadistic savagery all around him.
He has made his barbarity almost into an art form and there is absolutely no judgement from Nyx's quarter.
I was also shocked sideways by that unexpected reveal so unexpected that.
I did have some slight niggles here one being the somewhat unfinished feel of Zane and Addy's relationship, I have since seen a statement from the author that they are getting another book so that has cheered me up no end.
There were also some tiny minor nitpicks but these were more just personal preferences.
This was really engrossing and as expected excellently written.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of "Hellions: Next Generation (Badlands #6)"
All opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

description So to start, I will be upfront and say I was very confused when I realized that this book would be about Maliki and Nyx. Especially considering I didn't feel like Addy and Zane's "romance" had any closure at the end of  Degenerates. Even after finishing this book I don't feel like the romance aspect of their story felt complete. I found this especially annoying because there was some sort of discord going on between them at several points in this book, and we never get any insight into what was causing it. My other disappointment was the OW stuff. One of the main reasons I love this author so much was that she can write a fantastically fucked up story without cliché other women crap. Sadly, the last few books I have read of hers have more and more OW drama creeping in. I still don't see the point of Darrian being a f-ck buddy of Zane's. Nor did I need to read and have past hookups thrown in my face. However, as always, this is just a personal pet peeve of mine and few people get bothered by this type of thing.

description
Apart from the aforementioned niggles, I did really enjoy this one. I felt like Maliki and Nyx's relationship was more fleshed out than Addy and Zane's (from book one) and their romance also had better closure going into book three. There were also some good twists and turns that moved the overall storyline forward. And no Natalie Bennett book would be complete without a lot of blood, guts, torture, hot sex, and majorly fucked in the head characters. (lol) So yea...bring on book three!

After I finished Degenerates, I couldn't wait to read Nyx and Maliki (and Cam)'s story in Hellions.

Damaged, tortured, violent souls those two were perfect for each other.

"Legendary together— vicious, chaotic gods.”

I admit that I was taken aback by the beginning of the book which it was different from the ending of the previous installment (maybe because I had an ARC version of the book?).

That being said, I completely loved being transported back to the Badlands. I was expecting darkness, wish granted! Disturbing scenes and gruesome moments rhythmed the storyline. The action kept me on the edge of my seat, heart pounding and clammy hands.

"Hope was dangerous, hope was fickle and, when it was snatched away, all it left behind were feelings of desolation."

With Hellions, secrets are unveiled, twists and turns had my jaw dropping. This is an entertaining read set in an incredible atmosphere. The world building is fabulous, the characters completely enthralling.

"We were hellions embarking on a path of carnage, feeding our demons and using one another."

I VOLUNTARILY REVIEWED AN ARC COPY OF THIS BOOK. THANK YOU!!!

Hellions is book 6 in the Badlands series and this time we have Maliki and Nyx whose parents are Grimm and Arlen. I really enjoyed Maliki and Nyx together, their chemistry was hot and they made a great couple. Now while I enjoyed this one more than book 5 I was so confused by the events and the betrayals I honestly have no idea what's going on. I have so many questions that I hope will be answered in future books.

Book 6 of the badland series and I AM SO PUMPED!!! I enjoyed the new gene but i gotta say Nyx and Malik are my fave of the couples i enjoyed zane and addy but this couple are my faves!!

Betrayed by their ex's this book is down right twisted and less dark then the other books i enjoyed how Malik was towards Nyx she was the only one he would show his softer side I'm suprised they werent that fucked up.. they were cray but not to cray lol starting off as sorta friends then fuck buddies and now lovers to the death, i loved watching how they grew together even when they were hiding parts of themselves from one another but they worked so well together.. their twisted ways to find their missing siblings..  plus how they got their revenge LORDDDDDD it was vicious and twisted and as much as i wish butch didnt betray the family.. he deserved everything he got.. now we got more twist and secrets coming out..

Now idk what book 7 is about? All i know from the preview its a threesome.. :0 idk who?

Angst, drama, secondary chara, no virgins, no cheating, no ow/om even if she thought he was fking someone he wasn't he was killing lookalikes of his ex..

This didn't hold back as much and was more deranged and unhinged than the previous book. The morbid fascination is real.

Onto the next one.

Trigger warnings: mutilation, cannibalism, detailed on-page torture, sexual abuse, excessive and graphic depictions of violence, pedophilia (implied), murder

Content notice: mental illness, breath play, blood play, knife play

“We were the ugly truth of the world we came from, born with tragedy coursing through our blood. He was angry, a vicious sadist full of rage. I was lost, a masochist trapped in a state of chaos. We were hellions embarking on a path of carnage, feeding our demons and using one another. We turned pain to power, and we thrived on our insatiable lust for darkness and death. Together, we were two vicious, chaotic gods.

YASSSS y’all!! This book is classic Natalie Bennett and everything I’ve come to love about the deliciously twisted way she writes gore like a dark poet and her chaotic characters who thrive in depravity and sin wickedly with each other.

I loved Addy and Zane in Degenerates, but Nyx and Maliki…

Be still my jet black heart 🖤

description

Maliki is definitely scrumptious, even if he’s a “vicious sadist full of rage”... I don’t care though, I’d still have his babies. He’s all alpha, but not overly possessive and protective over Nyx. He knows she could hold her own. And that’s what I love best about this entire series… Nyx, Addy and every single heroine is treated as an asset, a partner, and not just a damsel in distress that needs to be saved. These women are far from weak and perfectly capable of kicking ass and slaughtering anyone who comes at them… but even badass bitches need to be cherished and adored and that’s exactly how Maliki, Zane and the rest of the heroes in the Badlands books treat their ladies… motherf*cking swoon 😍🔥

Hellions is definitely the best book yet with this new generation of degenerates. The twists, the surprises and the edge of your seat suspense had me completely consumed. As with every book in this series, there are gruesome and vile scenes that will give you nightmares but the way Natalie uses her descriptive words will have you intoxicated with their haunting beauty.

This series won’t be for everyone, BECAUSE LIMITS, but if you aren’t afraid to take a plunge far down the rabbit hole of darkness, then for the love of God, READ IT and see why this author is one of my favorites!

I can't say I was a big fan of Maliki and his stiletto when he was in the hotel room with that girl. That was a bit much for me tbh. This one just didn't suck me in as much as some of the others, and I was a bit confused with the ending. It was just okay.

i fucking loved every second of this fucking book. i love with all my damn heart nyx and malik. they’re so good to and with eachother and their damned souls are connected in a whole other level.

now, i do have some complaints. were some of this deaths really necessary? 🥲 i cannot start with this, literally the same thing happened to me when i read Degenerates but at least the character was alive man. not funny i’m actually really hurt over this. I also have to mention the goodies of the storyline in this book 🤌🤌 plot twists, betrayals, anger, death, love and vengeance. literally perfect i cannot wait for the next book.

***5 ‘Hostile Hellions’ Stars***

And things just got more twisted…

Ok.

I know this entire series is all kinds of twisted goodness, no denying that, but this twisted is a different kind and one I didn’t see coming, but considering who we are talking about, maybe I should have…

But on to Maliki and Nyx...I loved and adored these two. They have this crazy sort of controlled calm thing going on, which I know doesn’t necessarily make total sense, but it’s how I felt as I got to know them. Yes, they are dark and vicious and thrive, not only in the chaos of their minds, but with what is going on around them, but they don’t go off half-cocked in anything. They deliberate and have a plan ~ or as much of one as they can ~ and tend to do the right thing for those they call their own.

As for their relationship and it’s evolution. It wasn’t as craycray as I thought it would be, but it was still a fun ride to watch as they danced around each other and finally with each other. It wasn’t AS angsty as it could be, but the push/pull was a lot of fun and I liked how they built a friendship between them before the gauntlet was thrown down, and let me tell you, that gauntlet was actually kinda sweet ~ I know, sweet is NOT a word I’d’ve thought to use, but it was and I simply found them to be perfect for each other.

I devoured this baby. I did . It wasn’t as chaotic as Degenerates was, IMHO, but the things that happen in this one were just as intense and considering all the info that was let loose...well, I cannot wait to get my hands on Renegades to see what will happen next!

Amazing, dark, steamy and heart breaking. I loved the first generation but the Hellions have completely captured my heart. Natalie Bennett has created characters that are sweet but are filled with jagged edges. The twist and turns in the book keep you guessing but the plot twist in this one took a knife to my heart for the Savages. I need the next instalment like a fix. More darkness, intrigue and depraved romance, Natalie Bennett has made me an addict of the Badlands.

I enjoyed being back in this dark and depraved world with this next generation of Savages. There were the lingering effects of the wrong previously committed, and I was eager to see retribution take place. There were plenty of twists and turns, many shock and awe moments, and more startling betrayals. When this one came to a close, I was already grabbing for the next book so I can continue the series.

Wow.
I just devoured that book. In one sitting. Nyc and Maliki were EVERYTHING. Usually with series, you have main characters that you love and you have secondary characters that you just like alot. Not with this series. You just love love love ALL the characters so much. No favorites. I love Maliki. I love Nyx.

Hmmmm

There are so many moving parts to this series, and every time one piece locks into place, another starts spinning out of control. I love it. My brain definitely isn’t taking any rests here in the Badlands.
Nyx & Maliki are two more twisted halves finding their place in the darkness.

Hellions starts where we left off. Cam is in a coma. Bella, Lilith, Samuel, Demon, Ace & Darrian are still missing. The gang is regrouping at Savage HQ and getting ready to go back out after them.

Nyx is in a bad place. She’s dealing with Butcher’s betrayal, Cam’s injury, and Annie’s mercy killing. IMO, her character has more depth than Addy’s, and her “darkness” felt more authentic. Maliki Erebus (Venom #2) is struggling with his long-time GF Gwen’s betrayal. His past is pretty brutal, and his demons are darker. The level of violence is higher than it was last book.

These two have been circling each other since the last book, but it still took them a while to get together (after an early hook-up). The storyline continues with them trying to locate the kids, and missing friends. There are some twist and turns, and ends in another cliify-ish. Hopefully Luce’s book will give us some answers.

Bottom Line-Not bad, but I’m still not crazy about the kid’s dynamic…numerous characters to keep track of, taking forever for the couples to get together, adding more and more to the plot without resolution on the earlier conflicts, having these conflicts carry over to the next book, teasers/tidbits we’ll have to keep track of like Addy's “secret”, Izzy the pregnant gal w/ Anubis tattoo….I did like that Addie & Zane were around a lot because I felt like their story wasn’t really put to rest, but I still feel like their future is still uncertain.

Fav quote- Siding with any woman over yours, even if she was wrong… that was reasonable grounds to have your balls removed. You either pretended to agree or shut the fuck up until further notice. It was that simple.

We were both made up of jagged edges and empty spaces, tragically perfect for one another.

I couldn't wait to read this book. When I found out it was Nyx and Maliki's book, I was a little too excited. I was hoping that it would meet my expectations and it did. My favorite book of the series so far has been Outcasts. Arlen is my bitch and Grimm, I just love him. I was happy to see that Nyx had both of her parents' qualities and was just a kickass heroine in general.

I'm a fan of friends to lovers story lines. It pulls me in like no other. Nxy and Malik were both going through their own personal hells in this book. So seeing them come together and their relationship evolve over the story was wonderful. It was something different for the series. Usually it's just lust at first sight. But this relationship felt more real and dynamic. The attraction between them was palpable and even though they fooled around here or there with one another they were hesitant to take it to the next level in fear of ruining their friendship.

And even though I knew they would end up together, I was happy to finally hear them admit it to one another.

I'll always be around baby-girl, because my demons are beginning to love yours.

Of course, it wouldn't be a Badlands book without blood and chaos and there was just enough of that to keep me satisfied. I don't want to give anything away in terms of plot but I can't wait to see where this story goes. I don't know how many times I have said, "I didn't see that shit coming."

The twists in this series are blowing my mind and I am so here for it.

This story just blew my mind. This book was all kinds of f* up I knew it was going to be and couldn't wait to read it. Let me just say this much if you have triggers do not read this, but if you don't, go for it. This is Maliki and Nyx's story and holy smokes what an amazing sick and twisted one it was. I can't wait to read the next one in line of this series.

Degenerates and Hellions by Natalie Bennett are part of the Badlands: Next Generation series which looks at a time in the future where everything is uncertain, cults rule most of the land and it is a live or die mentality. Degenerates looks at Adelaide ‘Princess’ Savage and Zane ‘Venom’ prince, both of them are on two different sides but both as wild and destructive. This book was hard core from the beginning, showing a level of violence and darkness not often found in book. Basically, no one is safe and even when you think someone is going to survive, they aren’t going too in this series. This is a fast-paced book, with an insta-love type story where both characters keep secrets and emotions well in check. There are often times when you think Zane is just being cruel, but the more you come to understand about him and his circumstances, the more you find out that he is a product of his lifestyle, background and circumstances. Adelaide is also the same where she is this really strong type person, but she lives in her head a lot and has been really sheltered by her parents until she is out there trying to save her people whilst having this destructive, dark, bone-melting relationship with Zane.

Hellions runs along a similar them with the characters Maliki and Nyx being the main centre of attention (although there are still other characters from the first book, including Zane and Adelaide who pop up. If you thought Degenerates was dark, then you have to read this one as it is on a totally different level. We see the second book pick up where the first one left off where the gang is trying to get loved ones back whilst there are a ton of secrets surrounding them and they need to try and get out alive whilst not destroying each other or being destroyed by outside forces.

Both books are dark, violent and have really gripping sexy scenes. You do have to read the books in order as they run on from one another and all characters make an appearance and you learn a little more about them as the story goes along. There are also moments of extreme sadness, brutality and horror, but they definitely keep you guessing. If you like your books really dark, almost dystopian and not following any rules. Then these are the books for you.

ARC received for a fair and honest review.

🖤My honest review and opinion🖤

Hellions is book sixth of the Bandlands Next Generation series by author Natalie Bennett.

This books is all kinds of fucked up and I love it! Don’t know what that says about me.

This book continues when the last one left of and everyone is on edge after all that happened and the repercussions of someone’s betrayal.

The kids are still missing and the group are on a journey to find them.

This is a new level of deprave and twisted 💀

Maliki:

💜Sick and twisted. He’s mean, ruthless and I enjoyed the fact that he was sweet and attentive to Nyx. Only her.

We get to learn more about his past and the circumstances that made him such a sick and twisted individual. I loved him. He was intense and so damn sexy in a wtf is wrong with me for liking him way.

Nyx

💀 She’s strong, loyal and a badass.

She’s struggling with guilt and dark feelings of betrayal and revenge. Everything she believed was a lie and she keeps losing people she loves. I felt for her but at the same time I felt like Maliki completed her.

Their chemistry was of the charts sexy! They are perfect for each other.

Plot:

💜💀This was a total mind fuck!! The twists and turns!!! Never saw that coming! I can’t wait for the next book!!! I was fascinated with everything that happened in this story because the author took me on a journey of insanity and made me question a lot of things like who the hell is the villain and who can they trust 😩

I love how this series has so much action and leaves me wanting more! I need my answers. What the hell is happening...

I think this is by far my favorite couple and book from the Bandlands and Next Gen series!

The writing was poetic in a sick and twisted way lol. Sensational! It made me feel like i was in the book living it with the characters. I appreciate when authors give their readers that feeling.

Wow I’m so speechless right now and not sure where to even start with this review. When I read the first generation books Romero and Cali were my favs even though I had liked the other characters and their books, it just couldn’t take the place of those two. When the second generation came out I fell in love with Zane and Addy and I figured it would turn out like the first gen in how I felt, but I absolutely loved Maliki and Nyx and their story and it’s right up there with Zane and Addy. This was a hard book to read though, I was yelling at my iPad one minute and tearing up the next. I thought Degenerates shocked me with the twist and turns, but Hellions went beyond that with the shock value and my mouth literally dropped open when we found out certain things, but I don’t want to spoil anything because it will take away from the reader and this is a book you shouldn’t have spoiled because it makes it so much better even if some things are hard to get through. I’ve never read a bad book from Natalie Bennett, I don’t think it’s possible. She became my favorite author after I stumbled about Savages and I’m always waiting for something new to drop from her. I loved Hellions it’s definitely a must read, but if you’re new, you have to start at the beginning of the series with Savages otherwise you will be lost. Thank you Natalie for another amazing book!! Can’t wait for Renegades to come out in a couple days! I never want this series to end.

The tagline on this book is vicious chaotic gods, and yeah, that is pretty much a perfect description of it. Natalie Bennett writes dark, and this one is DARK. If you aren't fully ready to embrace the full Natalie Bennett dark experience, then you might want to pass this on by, because yeah.

Maliki is the second in command to Zane, the head of the Venom. Now that Zane and Addy are together, the Venom and the Savages are allied. They are also hunting down missing members of their respective factions.

Nyx is Death's Daughter. Her father is one of the trinity when it comes to the Savages and Adelaide is her cousin. She's reeling from the betrayals that have been heaped upon the Savages and is trying to figure everything out. And Malik is skulking around her shadows, up to who knows what.

This whole series has been intense. Bennett doesn't do anything lightly, and she doesn't here, either. I think that this is the darkest one of the series so far, and trust me, that's saying something. There are some things in here that some people may find uncomfortable, but the thing is that the darkness and the uncomfortableness is that it's not there gratuitously as some way to see how much Bennett could shove into a book, it's there because that's the way that the characters are. There is no other way that the story could go.

I can't wait to see what happens next.

So, this might be blasphemy for some, but i think i dig the next gen badlands stories more than their parents. Maybe because there's a smidge more romance on these? Or perhaps because we already KNOW the world that they're in so the stories are more focused on the H and h? Either way i loved the not-so slow friends-to-lovers story between Nyx and Malik.

Nyx is Addy's best friend, Grimm and Adler's daughter. Malik is Zane's fellow Venom, number 2 on the hierarchy if you will. This story is a straight continuation of Degenerates (Badlands: Next Gen #1 and Addy and Zane's story, so you MUST read that first prior to this).

I love that they were friends first - typically the H and h in Badlads meet and BOOM are all up into each other. They were both in relationships when they met so while there was energy between them, they didn't cross the line. As always, it's great that we get both of the H and h's POV, as these men's actions are... interesting, so having their thought process is super helpful.

Net, THIS IS A MUST READ if you've been suckered into the crazy world of Badlands. I inhaled this book in one day, so had to re-read it again the next just to relive the world and catch anything I missed (which, given all the plot twists and how the stories are building on each other, is needed).

Perfectly broken
"We were both made up of jagged edges and empty spaces, tragically perfect for one another." - Nyx
Should it bother me that I get them? That I love what they are together?

I have been reading this series since the first generation (Savages) and I keep asking myself -
How does each episode only get better? And it does.
I will admit I never saw this twist coming - NEVER and now I have so many questions - WTH ??
I figure if you are this far in the series you know what is going on and who the players are so recapping is kind of redundant. If you have not started this series ...
*Note*
This is NOT a standalone - This IS a work of fiction - This is NOT for the squeamish (people it is a post-apocalyptic world; cannibals, murderers, those left do what they have to do to survive) - This is NOT sugar coated so if graphic violence and degenerate humans behavior is not your thing I would suggest you skip a visit to the Badlands.
On a side note, I appreciate greatly that Bennett does not give in to pressure and releases her work before she feels it is ready. I don't mind waiting for perfection

Holy Hell of twisted darkness...this book, Im truly at a loss for words. I knew going into this one would be intense, but crap, I can't even describe what went on and there was so much. The events that took place are a lot to take in and I have so many questions. Natalie did a lot of twisted things in this newest installment, much more twisted then the others.

Going in, this is Maliki and Nyx story. Both as you know are very broken and dark inside. At times it feels as if they feed off each other's darkness. As Nyx says, "Positivity is nothing but false hope." She's a big ball of Misery, riddled with pain and darkness. Maliki and his Horned Italian Stiletto is not for the faint of heart. The story takes place shortly after where the last one left off and they are searching for the others. They both have a mission to accomplish and seek revenge.

As always, Natalie lives up to her name of The Queen of Darkness. This book has me all over the place in a deliciously dark way. This new generation has definitely upped the game of sick and twisted ways in a brutal kind of way. I absolutely can't wait to see what direction this series is going to next.

The momentum and storyline in Hellions flowed better than Degenerates, which hints that the author is concentrating more on her delivery, attention to detail, as well as the composition and it has paid off. This series is my favorite from this author and I’m happy to see it receive the consideration it deserves.

The next generation of the Badlands are starting to live up to my desires and wants from this series. The characters are just as deplorable and degenerate as their parents and it makes my little dark heart rejoice!

The coupling of these two characters is legendary. Maliki is vicious and sadistic constantly in a state of chaos. Nyx, Grimm and Arlen’s daughter, she is Apportens Mortis (bringer of death). The pages bleed murder, mayhem and anarchy. To date, Hellions is definitely the best book in this spinoff series.

While everyone has said it, and I am sure you all see it, this series and this author are only for those select few that like their stories and sex pervertedly bloodied and depraved.

I think I'm still in shock. I've sat here staring at the last words of Hellions for a good 10 minutes trying to process all the shit that just went down. I'm at a complete loss on what to even say in a review. Did what just happen, really happen? Damn Natalie Bennett really fecked me up with this one.

Nyx and Maliki are the vicious two I expected and loved. Nyx with most of her dad in her and a little of her mom. She is the princess of death, what more did you expect. She's vicious, callous, hard, unforgiving, and let's her demons out to play. Maliki is a mirror of her but hides his demons, they won't be hidden for much longer and these two will set the world on fire.

Hellions answered so many questions while leaving me with so many more. These kids of the original badasses have to wade through shit and betrayal. I'm not worried about them though, their darkness will consume any who cross them.

I don't know where to start because I'm speechless I never would have thought,
i'd like this book series because it is horror but it keeps you so excited and scared.
I didn't want to finish this book just read it on and on.

Addy and Zane were introduced to us in the first book as well as Maliki and Nyx

Maliki ruthless men killer grew up with Zane

Nyx broken girl cheated by her best friend she is also the daughter of Grimm and Arlen

I don't know what to think of the two If Addy and Zane had chemistry between them,
then I think Maliki and Nyx are missing something even though they had hot scary steamy scenes

The previous book ended with ultimate betrayal which certainly shocked many readers,
In this book, they are on their hunt and they are also look for missing children
I still can't believe what happened to Cam this scene was terrible to read in a previous book😢
The end of the book did not imagine that it would be like this 😱

Thank you!
