Dark Nectar
Five years ago, in our war with the gods—a war we were destined to lose—the walls between Earth and Olympus fell.
Since then, I’ve put my unfinished chemistry degree to an unexpected use: producing a synthetic form of the drug ambrosia. I call it Dark Nectar. It’s highly addictive but gets me the medicine and other supplies my friends and I so desperately need. In my city, I’m really making a name for myself—the criminal underbelly knows me only as Schrodinger—and as it turns out, even some of the gods have heard of me.
Enter Actis, a sea god eager to break into the illegal drug trade between our worlds. He hires me to synthesize a black market drug known as LNK. We’ll need easy access to a lab and Olympian materials, so I’ll be posing as a teaching assistant for his brother’s alchemy class at God Spark Academy—a boarding school for the children of the gods. Professor Macareus is under some sort of curse that keeps him preoccupied during the day before he teaches at night, so I’ll have a stretch of time with unfettered access to his lab.
What could go wrong?
Well, what could go wrong is that the dour, enigmatic, notorious alchemist is also criminally hot. He’s also not as dour, or notorious, as his reputation suggests. And just as he’s starting to salvage said reputation, my duplicity threatens to ruin everything.
