Baines Family #3

Tall, Dark, and Dirty

Never Date Your Male Friends. Why hadn’t I listened to my own advice?

They say dreams don’t come true.
In my case they did.
After I finished my FBI training in Quantico, I landed back in my hometown of Atlanta, working undercover.
It was what I’d dreamed of since I was a kid.
I’d found my one and only true love – a.k.a. work -- and was perfectly content.
Until an old friend, my best friend from fifteen years ago, came barging back into my life.
Except now, Landry Baines wasn’t a scrawny teenager.
He was a much taller, more muscular version of his old self.
Cue, the drool.
And the sleeping ovaries snapping to attention.
That’s how I ended up breaking my no-sleeping-with-men-on-the-first-date rule.
What was I thinking?
Clearly, it had been sex.
Now, I was so screwed.
Landry wanted in… and more.
He wanted control and I wasn’t giving that up for anyone.
That’s how this Tall, Dark, and Dirty man ended up becoming my enemy.

Tall, Dark, and Dirty is the third book in the Baines Family Novels. It is a complete stand-alone with an HEA. If you like your books with spicy bedroom scenes, some comic relief, and fun banter, then grab this one today!

I'm sooo excited about these two characters. Landry is a protective alpha, while Shiloh is fighting to see her independence and won't let anyone, including the irresistible Baines brother, tell her what to do. SOO SPICY too!

Tall, Dark, and Dirty tells Landry Baines' story, it's the fourth book in this series but it could be read as a standalone.

He, as his older brothers and younger sister didn't have a nice childhood, with an absent workaholic father and a mean alcoholic mother. His only escape, during the worst days, were to ride his horse and to meet his neighbour Shiloh McClain. They spent a lotof time together, while he rode, she climbed the trees on the property. One day Shiloh moved away with her family and they never meet again, until their lives clashed in an exclusive club.

I enjoyed watching Landry and Shiloh getting to know each other again, they were perfect together in the past and they still are in the present, even if they need some time to adjust. After all these years, it is understandable that their relationship is different, and in need to mature if they want to be together for the long haul.

My favourite character is Shiloh, I adored her strenghth and strong will, she is an FBI agent, you can see how proud she is of her work and how she is also appreciated by all her male co-workers. Landry, is still a little immature for my taste, but I liked how he questions himself, and he tries to change and to grow up.

A.M. Hargrove has written a good and intriguing storyline. I was really taken by the main characters' love story, and also by the intense and suspenseful investigations.

I'm wondering what comes next, I have an idea but I'll keep my mouth shut until the author announce the new series.

A.M. Hargrove has done it again! I have waited to hear Landry’s story, and it was everything I had hoped for and more. Tall, Dark, and Dirty (the last book in the series) tells the story of Landry Baines and Shiloh McClain. Landry, his brothers, and sister had a bad childhood. Their mom was a mean drunk and their dad was never home. His only escape through all of this was sneaking out to see his neighbor/friend, Shiloh, who lived on the adjacent property. She was his distraction through all this. He took her on horseback rides, and they would talk about anything and everything. Shiloh was a tomboy. She loved to climb the trees on her property, and she knew from a young age that she wanted to work for the FBI. One day Landry goes over to see Shiloh, and she is in tears. It turns out that her mom and stepdad have sold their home and Shiloh along with her stepbrothers are moving away. This was devastating news to both of them. Their only hope was that Shiloh’s mom promised Shiloh that when she turned a certain age, she would get a cell phone. Flash forward 15 years and neither of them have heard or seen each other since Shiloh and her family moved. Shiloh received her phone much later than her mom said, and by then she had lost Landry’s phone numbers. Landry and Shiloh have thought about each other a lot through the years. Landry now works in the family business. Landry’s friend, Benson, talked Landry into going with him to a private club. Once there, Landry sees this cocktail waitress, who looks to be the grownup version of Shiloh. He confronts her and asks her name. The woman responds with the name of Dusty and tells him to get lost. He tries again later in the evening, and this time she gets really mad and nasty and tells him to leave her alone or else. He leaves the club, but he was correct with his initial reaction of this possibly being Shiloh because it was Shiloh who was working undercover. She did become an FBI agent. Shiloh calls Landry the next day and apologizes for her rudeness and they make a plan to meet for dinner. This is where their love story begins. It is not an easy road for them. One reason is Landry is very bossy and protective and he does not like the danger Shiloh is in with her job. Shiloh is a very strong, independent woman, and truly loves her job. She has worked hard to prove herself and is respected by the males she works with. Another reason for the bump in their journey is at a dinner where revelations are made, and this causes Landry and Shiloh a lot of stress. However, the main reason their journey is not easy is because Landry just cannot get out of his own head. His childhood has molded him a certain way, and this causes Landry to put his foot in his mouth on more than one occasion. While they are trying to build a relationship, you have the mystery going on of Shiloh’s current case. This was truly a fantastic story. These two certainly had chemistry, and they are on FIRE when they get together. A.M. Hargrove is wonderful with character development. Tall, Dark, and Dirty is truly a must read. It can be read as a standalone, but it is the last book in the series, and the characters from the other books in this series appear in this book, so you might want to start with book one, Tall, Dark, and Bossy. You really won’t regret starting at the beginning because it’s an amazing series. This book grabbed me at page one and did not let go until the very last page. I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book is going to keep readers engaged from start to finish! These two cross paths unexpectedly and it definitely is a surprise to them both. Sparks fly, but they have a lot to overcome as the years they have been apart they have each grown into fiercely independent individuals, who both are used to making decisions without having ti consider how someone else may feel about it. A great read, though I hadn’t read the previous books in the series, I was easily able to read this as a stand-alone.

Tall, Dark, and Dirty by AM Hargrove

The name alone should make you want to grab and read this book. However once you get your hands on it and you start reading you will love it. This is Landry and Shiloh’s story. These two were childhood friends that is until Shiloh had to move. After years of being away they are unexpectedly reunited and they are feelings resurfacing. The chemistry is explosive. I loved this book and i know you will too. It’s a book you must grab i highly recommend.

I have a thing for second chance romance especially when it's about childhood friends who reconnect years later. Nothing better than an FBI agent who is doing an undercover job and re-meeting the love of her life who is now a billionaire. After years they just pick right back up and it's like they never lost contact. This book was so hard to put down and was such a real page turner. An amazing story that is very well written and includes great sexy times and a dash of drama. What more could you want?

5 She’s His Storm Stars!

Since the Baines family’s books first started, I’ve been patiently waiting for Landry to get his book and let me just tell you, it’s EVERYTHING I wanted it to be. This man is complicated in ways I didn’t really see coming. I knew from the previous books that there were things that happened in his childhood that truly framed his future and not in the best ways. But that all changes when one fateful night he goes out with a friend and encounters his bestie from when they were both younger. To say it was a shock for both of them to be where they were is putting it mildly.

After all the years they’d been apart, you’d think it would be a natural to fall back into their friendship… not so much. But now that they’re adults, there’s an entirely new feeling emerging between them and OOH LA LA they’re on fire!

Landry is a man that knows what he’s capable of and seeing Shiloh again makes him want things he never thought was possible, but there are definite roadblocks for him, the least of which is what she does for a living as an FBI agent… it’s filled with dangerous moments and Landry being the man that he is, verbalizes his thoughts. I said to myself while reading this particular chapter, “Landry, don’t do it!” he didn’t listen to me!

I loved Shiloh so much. She’s strong and independent and doesn’t need a man to make her life complete, she wants a man to compliment her life. After a few hurdles, it seems like Landry and Shiloh are on their way to an HEA. Along the way though, we get inside an FBI investigation that was gripping and filled with tension filled moments that had my heart beating out a staccato beat… Ms. Hargrove didn’t hold back in this area and I’m so happy she showed the reality of what Shiloh does for a living.

With this final book in the Baines family series, we get a couple that is so meant for each other even if they had to fight for their love. We also get to spend time with the entire Baines family that truly brought a smile to my face. I’m truly going to miss this family and I’m 100% positive I’ll be doing a re-read of all their books in the very near future.

Shiloh and Landry used to be best friends in their early childhood, then they lost contact because Shiloh’s family moved away.
They used to be thick as thieves and supported each other which made both their lives more bearable.
When they meet again both are quite successful in their jobs; Shiloh became a successful FBI agent and Landry works in his family’s company.
Their story arc is a bit cliché, but the characters are sort of developing well and the readers will find out that their lives have been quite interwoven, though the two main characters were never really aware of it!
Turns out Shiloh’s brother and Landry became best friends while studying!
Which makes a nice mix of second chance, friends-to-lovers with sizzling chemistry, and brother’s best friend/don’t get involved with my sister - troubles.
Somehow I feel us readers learn more about Shiloh’s family than about Landry’s, though that might also be due to the fact that I never read any of the previous books and therefore might have missed out on learning about Landry’s family dynamics - pity on my side, as I would have liked to get more on this aspect from this story.
The second story arc about the FBI case, however, is confusing as a lot of characters pop up out of the blue. It’s a huge case and how all these people of interest are connected is sometimes lost on me.
The same applies to the reconstruction of her house that got partly destroyed in a storm … and her damaged car, I actually don’t feel it necessary to have that part included in the story at all and it’s happening so on the fringe of everything …
Nevertheless, I liked reading the book, so I assign still four stars!

I received an ARC and promised to leave an honest review of this book.

This is a third book in the Billionaire Baines Family romance series and follows Landry Baines stumbling towards making his childhood best friend, his happily ever after.

Shiloh, from scrawny next door neighbor with dreams and goals to head strong FBI Agent doing what she does best, much to Landry's dismay 🤨

Clashing ⛈️ personas struggling to put themselves first, letting others care and help them.

Lots of focus on struggling with internal dilemmas and the cases that Shiloh takes on. Plus, how her career affects her life, affecting their relationship due to his inability 😒 to respect her and her career choice 💪

Growing pains, enlightenment, and a happily ever after 💖

It's time to visit the Baines Family.
This time it's Landry's turn. He believes he's damaged from his horrible childhood and even worse mother. He's never been in a relationship because he thinks he's incapable of love. Then he encounters his childhood friend, Shiloh.
Shiloh is living her dream of being part of the FBI. She's involved with stings and taking down the bad guy. She's fiercely independent and definitely knows how to handle herself. Then she encounters her childhood friend.
There is definitely chemistry between these two, but a lot of the time they are like oil and water. He's a stubborn alpha hole and she doesn't like a man telling her what she can and cannot do.
There is joy of watching their journey, old familiar characters for comic relief as well as watching the last Baines find their HEA.
The FBI story is interesting because it's not like TV or the movies, there is a lot of tedious work involved to make sure they get their suspect.
Overall a great story.
Thank you to A. M. Hargrove for the advanced copy.

I loved the premise of Tall, Dark and Dirty and while I enjoyed the overall story the characters let this book down slightly for me. The hero Landry comes across as being immature and a bit of a player albeit a dirty talking one. He’s the youngest child from a wealthy family but had a bad childhood where it seemed like his only friend was Shiloh. Shiloh is very much character with tunnel vision. She always wanted to be an FBI agent and doesn’t appear to have much of a life aside from her job chasing human traffickers and came across as being a bit selfish. Although there is plenty of chemistry between them and some deliciously wicked banter they just don’t seem to have much in common out with the sheets . I did love the background plot especially how this author didn’t overdramatise the story and probably showed a truer picture of what is involved in building up a case including the volume of paperwork and legal hoops they have to jump through. It wasn’t all kicking in doors and fighting the bad guys. I’d probably read this author again for her storylines.

I wish that I could say that I devoured this book in one sitting but I kept rereading parr’s and dragged it out because I didn’t want it to end! Landry and Shiloh were amazing! They each had their own baggage but genuinely cared for each other. They originally met as kids only to run into each other as adults. I just could not get enough of them or their story. All of the characters were fully developed and easy to love! I can’t wait to reread the whole book again!

Shiloh and Landry were childhood best friends until
She moved away and they lost touch. They meet again while Shiloh is working undercover. They have a fabulous night together and Landry shockingly wants more, however, he worries about the dangers of Shiloh’s job. They go through trials because they are both strong willed. I liked this story but it seems to have a disjointed flow. It was a love story between the characters intertwined with Shiloh’s investigation into human trafficking. There also seemed to be a lot of side stories going on. Shiloh’s brother was Landry’s best friend yet Landry and Shiloh did not know this. Landry had issues to deal with from his childhood and that was not really addressed. I guess, I misted wanted to know more.

Overall, this was a book about reconnecting with the one person who knows you best. About learning each other as adults and accepting each others differences. It’s about growth and family connections.

A great friends to lovers story.
I adored Landry and Shiloh.
Growing up together as neighbors and friends. They were everything to each other growing up.
They reconnect many years later because Shiloh’s parents moved away.
Landry has had a tough upbringing which has carried through into adulthood.
But he’s always protective and all alpha.
Shiloh is a strong independent woman. Has a danger job. Which she loves and is good at.
When fate brings these two former best friends together. It isn’t smooth sailings.
There is obstacles to overcome. A thinking process that needs some adjusting.
But they do have spark and definitely chemistry.
When the ignite they absolutely explode!
Along with the reconnecting and the budding romance.
There’s drama and intrigue with a case Shiloh’s working.
I so enjoyed Landry and Shiloh’s story. Btw I did not read the previous books and I had absolutely no trouble with reading Tall, Dark and Dirty, so no worries for new readers like me.

Cute read! Landry and Shiloh were childhood friends as misfits until she moves away, and they lose touch. Years later, Landry is unhappy and quite the player, and while at an exclusive club, he thinks he recognizes someone as Shiloh, although is told he’s mistaken. Shiloh has never forgot Landry, similar to him not forgetting her, and after another run-in, she reveals herself and they start to spend time together and get to know each other as adults. As they spend time together, they start to act on the feelings that were budding as kids, although Landry can’t seem to handle Shiloh’s job as an FBI agent, which has been her dream her whole life. Throwing in a huge case for Shiloh in which she puts herself on the line to get the bad guys, it becomes a topic of argument for the couple, almost risking them their relationship, but thankfully these two get the HEA they were destined to have.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Shiloh and Landry were best friends and had each other through some very difficult times. Unfortunately they lost touch through no fault of their own and when they saw each other again 15 years later there were a lot of changes!
Shiloh is the undercover FBI agent she always wanted to be and Landry works for his family business and isn’t too okay with Shiloh having a dangerous career. On top of these challenges, they find other, previously unknown connections which add another layer to the speed bumps they’ll experience. Is their connection enough to overcome everything and flourish?
I absolutely enjoyed Shiloh and Landry. I loved that each of them were incredibly relatable and down-to-earth. Their story was so heartwarming and meaningful that I’m sure I’ll reread many more times! Definite 4.5⭐️

Tall, Dark, and Dirty by AM Hargrove is book Three in the Baines Family Series. This is the story of Landry Baines and Shiloh McClain. Shiloh and Landry where childhood friends who counted on each other. Especially Landry because his childhood along with his siblings was so awful. But one day Shiloh and Landry both were heartbroken to learn that Shiloh parents were moving. They said they would try to stay in touch when they could but it never happened. Now in their present day, Shiloh is a undercover FBI agent working a job when Landry comes back into her life. Landry has taken to working for the family business. When he sees someone that looks like Shiloh he confronts her but Shiloh can't break cover so she acts like she doesn't know him. But the next day she calls him and this starts their story. Enjoyed this book.

Tall, Dark and Dirty is book 3 in the Baines Family Novel series by AM Hargrove. A. M. Hargrove has written another winner about Landry, a younger Baines sibling that crosses over to her duet: For the Love of English and the Love of Easton. Landry Baines had lost touch with his childhood friend Shiloh who helped him have “a person to count on” when his home life became unbearable. Shiloh became an FBI agent; her lifetime dream was on assignment when she met Landry again. Their romance has good and bad times. Landry’s protectiveness becomes stifling and comes off as overbearing. Shiloh is too independent to accept this kind of behavior. Reading each page as Shiloh and Landry find their way to HEA is remarkable. Highly recommend Tall, Dark, and Dirty by A. M. Hargrove.

Ohhh Landry was a spicy one when it came to the Baines family! Mr. Alpha is taken down so many pegs trying to come to terms with how fiercely independent Shiloh is was amazing to read and seeing him brought to his knees was pure perfection. There is great intensity within these pages between the relationship that these two are trying to build, the history of each of them and add on Shiloh’s job, which is a whole different ball game. I loved how Shiloh stood her ground when it came to her job against Landry. He had to sit down and take it whether he liked it or not. But the connection that these two have from childhood to now was just spellbinding. Overall, it was a great read and addition to the series. I love seeing the little tidbits of past characters as well!

What a page-turner!
Shiloh and Landry's story captivated me from the first page to the last, with its fast-paced plot, its many twists and turns, and above all, its great characters.
Shiloh and Landry are made for each other, that's for sure. They fit together like two pieces of a puzzle, even if they don't want to admit it at first ...
I really enjoyed their journey to their happy ending, even if they had to work hard for it. Both characters come across as down to earth and relatable in their thought processes and feelings, and I loved their banter and Landry's dirty talk. It's another book in this fantastic series that I devoured in one go and couldn't put down.

Shiloh and Landry….what a pair! Two souls destined to be together but their stars just hadn’t aligned yet. But when they did? Sparks fly and not necessarily in a good way. You could not have met a more controlling alpha who constantly sticks his foot in his mouth than Landry. Opinionated, dominating, and so in love, he just can’t control himself. Shiloh works in a man dominated field and she takes no crap for it….until Landry shows up. She doesn’t know what to do with him…infuriating but oh so sexy…..can she fight the feelings? This is a sweet, hot and intriguing story of two people destined for a future that neither dreamed would be possible! Loved it!

Shiloh is married to her job as an FBI agent, so there’s no time for anything else. Landry thinks his parents relationship, mostly because of his mother, is what will define his future. And then he reconnects with Shiloh, a childhood friend who he lost touch with many years before. Landry finds himself thinking things he never though he would about relationships, and eventually Shiloh has those thoughts as well. She’s fiercely independent. Landry is struggling with Shiloh’s independence. Another Well written story with a little drama, and some seriously hot sexy times. The last Baines brothers book did not disappoint.

I have to be honest, I only knew of A.M. Hargrove because of the books she wrote for the Mason Creek Series.
After reading this book, I had to go read others in this series. I pretty much devoured this one... lots of heat, great character development, and the banter was top-notch. Keeping in mind that I hadn't read any other book in this series (this is book 3 or 4), I was able to follow along and understand who the characters were in relation to the others. It was a great standalone, but I really wanted to know more, so I will be reading the others. I highly suggest reading this one. It was a lot of fun and will leave you wanting more.

Landry and Shiloh were childhood best friends but they haven't seen each other in years. Now, she is working undercover for the FBI and runs into Landry during an assignment.

It was interesting to see how they reconnected and how they had each changed during the years apart. They had to get to know each other again, but the attraction was pretty instantaneous. Their relationship isn't all easy, but they definitely work through their issues and have a nice HEA.

This is a good addition to the Baines family series and can be read as a standalone.

Tall, Dark, and Dirty by AM Hargrove is the third book in the Baines Family series and it was sooo good! I just adore the Baines brothers and I could not wait for Landry’s story. Best friends to lovers is one of my favorite tropes and Ms. Hargrove hits this story out of the park!

Landry and Shiloh have know each other since they were kids. After losing touch for over a decade, a chance meeting has them reconnecting. The attraction between the two was explosive and their chemistry was hot as hell. I seriously could not get enough of them.

I truly enjoyed reading this story! I loved the characters and as usual Ms. Hargrove’s writing. Highly recommend reading it!

Landry and Shiloh were a crazy but great ride. Childhood friends that had lost touch and found each other unexpectedly years later. They were not scorching to run into each other that night; it’s like it was meant to be. They reconnected, got caught up with life and how things were and then a relationship was started. They wasted no time although they had their ups and downs. Shiloh wasn’t your typical woman and she marched at the beat of her own drums which at times didn’t sit well with Landry. Landry learned real quick that Shiloh wasn’t your typical woman and as hard as it was Landry accepted it. They balanced each other out and it was such a great read.

Talk, Dark and Dirty is all about Landry Baines and his neighbor and childhood friend, Shiloh.
They lose touch after her family moves and see each other years later at an exclusive club. Shiloh has her dream job as an undercover agent and Landry who works for his family’s business, struggles with it all.
I really enjoyed it as it has a lot of mystery as well as their romance. Add in the surprise brothers best friend fight, a tornado and an exciting FBI investigation and I was truly entertained.

I've been waiting for Landry's story and Tall, Dark and Dirty didn't disappoint. Landry and Shiloh were childhood best friends until Shiloh had to move away. Years passed and even though Landry was grown, he was just starting to be a man and actually grow up. Shiloh's dream came true and became a FBI agent, during her years away. She is such a strong character! I loved how they were able to reconnect and grow their relationship. Shiloh and Landry were made to be together, no matter what happens in their lives! They are HOT together. Love this series!!

I am so excited that Landry finally got to tell his story and it was worth the wait. I got swept away with Landry & Shiloh and their story.

Landry & Shiloh’s chemistry was off the charts! And I enjoyed their banter. Landry & Shiloh’s journey was not easy, but it was worth it in the end.

I am sad that it’s the final Baines story. I loved this family & I am not ready to leave them behind. I hope they show up in future stories.
