Elements of Pining #2

‘Til All the Seas Run Dry

Rate this book
The rules for selkies are simple. Don’t tell anyone you’re a selkie or the mortals will try to trap you. Don’t lose track of your sealskin or the mortals will definitely trap you.

Jory did everything right. Even when she fell in love with the shipwrecked sailor she rescued, she kept her secret. But tragedy struck, taking her love, and landlocking her anyway. Resigned to her fate after centuries of searching for her lost sealskin, Jory made her way to the tiny coastal Washington town of World’s End. When a new friend needs her help, Jory’s world is upended by the discovery that she wasn’t the only one keeping secrets.

Callum is tired. After nine hundred years as a vampire, immortality has begun to feel suffocating. Or, perhaps, it’s the fact that he’s spent centuries regretting the role he played in his one true love’s demise. A loose end leads him to the Pacific Northwest, where he receives the surprise of a dozen lifetimes.

What happens when the dead aren’t really dead at all?

Fate brought them together, cruel circumstances forced them apart, and now Jory has a choice to make. Should she return to the life she loved before she knew him? Or take a chance on the man for whom she left it all behind?

'Til All the Seas Run Dry is a contemporary, paranormal, dual POV romance with open door/explicit scenes. It is the second book in the Elements of Pining series, although it can be read as a standalone. This book is intended for audiences 18+. HEA guaranteed.

Eliza MacArthur is a writer of romance and humor. She lives in the mid-south with her husband, two feral werewolf children, and two doodles who, if she is honest, are more rotisserie chicken than canine. She is fueled by decaf coffee and a good grumpy/sunshine trope.

She cut her teeth stealing romances from the cabinet under her mom’s bathroom sink (where all good Midwestern moms kept their Julie Garwood paperbacks in the 90’s).

Well, this was an angsty roller coaster. But I knew what I was in for!

The Elements of Pining series hits that sweet spot for me where it hurts so good that I have to keep reading. Angsty books aren't usually my favorite thing to dive into but after reading Soft Flannel Hank last year and getting a peek at Callum and Marjory, I knew I had to see their story through.

This tale is full of tragic misunderstandings, curses and pain but it also has a love that just won't let go. Even through a century. They both have suffered yet tried to move on. Yet when they come face to face after all these years.. it's almost too good to be true even if that's not the reaction they both have at that moment.

As we unravel what happened to cause their separation we also catch up on everything that has happened since. They can't possibly be who they were back then, but can the love that defied logic back then still fins a way in the modern era?

Well, it is a romance after all, so I'll leave that up to you to guess.

I found Callum to be dashing and angsty. Marjory was feisty with a chip on her shoulder. Neither of them can be blamed for that. They have a lot to work through but I was rooting for them the whole way through.

With some elements of lore, a second chance, a selkie and a vampire, this book will keep you turning pages late into the night. Maybe you'll shed a few tears too.

I did find a few dragging parts where certain aspects were hammered home a bit too much for me. It wasn't a huge hindrance but it did have me skimming now and then.

Also... SUPER intrigued for what's coming next. The author leaves us with quite a tease. All in all, I real solid read.

I have the same issues with this one as with previous book, although it is definitely an overall improvement (especially pacing wise). Jory and Callum felt a much more rounded as a couple than Hank and Esther were, but I still feel that their reconciliation was rushed... Especially how the "secrets" bit was spilled out randomly in one scene, barely 50 pages in. Dunno, most of the characters feel like a caricature trying too hard to be relatable and cozy...? And the way they are all perfect in their representation and boundries and whatnot is so hallmark channel but in the worst way possible 🤦🏻‍♀️

The angsty scenes were really good though, my poor boi Callum growels deliciously 💘
Still though, kinda disappointed by the level of underwhelmness this series inspired in me, which is sad because the bones ARE there.

side note: am i the only one who absolutely LOATHES robbie? finds him extremely annoying and awfully unnecessary?! inswear, every time he showed up i skimmed through it until he was gone.

“Aye. I’ll buy you ten goat farms. I’ll let you name them all. All three hundred goats. And before you ask, yes, I’d love you still even if ye make me shovel goat shite every night. I’d love you if ye were a spoon. I’d love you if ye were a squirrel. I’d love you if your nose turned green and your hands turned into pitchforks and whatever else you worry about. I’d love you in Florida. I’d love you on the moon. I’ll love you until the end of days, mo ghraidh. Until this planet careens into the sun. I’ll hold you and love you until we disintegrate into stardust. And even after. If only you’ll let me do it again.”

Ugh, Eliza MacArthur, you beautiful human you. Her writing is stunning and immaculate and I am forever obsessed with her characters, her world and this series. Just sigh me up for freaking anything having to do with Scotland or Scotland vibes because I’m gonna love it and obsess over it for years.

Callum and Jory were everything. I didn’t think I could love anyone more than Hank and Esther but THE YEARNING AND THE PINING AND THE LOVE that exists in this book is EVERYTHING. Callum is the definition of undying devotion. My sweet tortured man. And Jory. My beautiful sad Jory. I love her endlessly. Her friendships with Robbie and Esther are amazing BUT Callum and Robbie’s friendship?? It made my heart sing. Esther had just the right amount of appearances, as did Hank. Magda continues to be the greatest meddler and ROBBIE??? He came out of nowhere but he is seriously my favorite. I can’t wait to see more of him, especially after that ending. And NAT AND NIAMH??? PLEASE DEAR GOD I NEEDED THEIR STORY AFTER SOFT FLANNEL HANK AND I NEED IT EVEN MORE NOW.

The vibes are unmatched. Seriously. I can’t decide if I want to live in Worlds End or on a hillside on a Scottish island overlooking the sea. Both sound equally dreamy. And I absolutely spent way too much money after finishing this buying Heather perfume after searching for it (it’s apparently not a thing that’s easily found in the US??)

I LOVE ELIZA MACARTHUR'S WRITING SO MUCH?? I don't like second chance romance and vampire romance is usually a miss for me and yet here I was so invested in the story. This one is more paranormal than Soft Flannel Hank, but I still really enjoyed it and it wasn't too much for me.

Jory and Callum have deeply hurt the other, but time (~900 years) is able heal (most) wounds and seeing them forgive and figure out a life together was everything to me!! They both thought the other was dead and the sheer fact that Jordy is alive is enough for Callum.

Callum is the "villian" of the first book, but I truly did a 180 on him bc he is so gone for Jordy which we love to see.

I loved seeing our side characters and am so curious for the rest of the books in this series! Plus Robbie and Callum's assistant where excellent additions. Robbie and Esther being fast friends?! We love to see it. This books are just so soft!!

My only "complaint" is that the first 20% of this book is basically a rehash of Soft Flannel Hank from Jordy and Callum's POV. Which I didn't dislike, but I had reread SFH like the day before so it was a bit much for me back to back.

Overall I really loved this one and love this little town with all its supernatural beings.

ARC REVIEW (thanks Eliza!)

I’ve been so hyped for Callum and Jory since Soft Flannel Hank and was so happy to get an advanced copy!

Omg I need a man like Callum who can love me with all his unbeating heart. The gut punch I felt everytime Jory said or made plans about leaving; I felt like I had a pit in my stomach almost the entire book. I loved their love and reading about their second chance.

I do wish book focused more on them though. It seemed to me once they started “dating” the stakes seemed low (like once Jory got her sealskin back, she didn’t have to leave forever- she could take it off whenever she wanted like she had originally) I felt a lot of book was focused on Robbie and setting up whatever is going on with him and I guess his book is next. But, like, we’re here now with Callum and Jory let’s see their story through first.

Eliza MacArthur really has a knack for writing broken dudes who love their ladies and I’ll keep reading this series til all the seas run dry!

Warning: this is second chance and I really truly want to throw all second chance out of a window. BUT I guess it's mostly ok if it's a selkie and a vampire and they've pining for 1000 years. A THOUSAND YEARS OF PINING. I was super annoyed with both of them, as I am wont to do for all second chance, for the dumb things that drove them apart for centuries. But Callum is top notch for grovel, pining, I love you and will do anything to get you back. "He would lie here with her in his arms until the very sun burned out. And then he'd hold her in the dark." I mean, come on. SWOON. Sigh, stop being dumb so I can like you more.

Nearly a thousand years ago, Jory lost her love. She was selkie who gave up her sea life to be with Callum. When she lost him, her sealskin was lost with him, trapping her on land for eternity. Fate has brought them back together, but Jory doesn't know if she can give herself to him again. Callum will do anything to win her back and he won't let the fact that he is vampire get in the way.

What an intriguing story! I had never read a book featuring a selkie as a main character before. As I was reading this one, I was telling my friends about it because I thought it was so unique.

Jory and Callum's love was for the ages. From the moment they saw each other, they knew that they couldn't be without one another. The tragedy that separated them broke my heart and in many ways, I didn't want to believe it. They pined for one another for centuries and roamed the earth feeling empty. Their journey back to one another was a long and complicated one, but I enjoyed the journey. I was so happy when they found their HEA after all the sadness that they experienced.

I don't read a lot of paranormal romance, but Eliza MacArthur does it so well! She keeps the paranormal elements simple but creative at the same time. I'm looking forward to more of her books and I am anxiously awaiting Robbie's book. He was one of my favorite characters in this one and when the ending came, I was surprised but not surprised at the same time.

Pick this up for a second chance paranormal romance between a selkie and a vampire!

Does Eliza write anything but 5 star books? Not yet.

Talk about long term pining. Whew. Callum and Jory have spent 1000 years apart, both believing the other is dead. So when they find each other again, they are different people, and they have as much sorrow and pain between them as love. It's a tough journey back to each other, but Eliza guides them and us there so carefully and tenderly that the counterpoint of the blazing chemistry that still sings between them is necessary and welcome.

I can't believe how good a second chance romance between a guarded selkie and a jaded vampire who have been separated for a millennium can be. That forehead furrow on the cover is perfectly Callum. And he loves Jory so much, he spends the whole book trying to win her back, promising her the freedom her seal skin gives her if she will give him a chance to woo her again. And she wants to resist him, but has spend a thousand years running away from how much she misses him.

The side characters could steal the show here with a less capable author, but just like the first book, we get a perfect mixture of sorting out a happily ever after for these characters while setting up the next one and making me salivate. Robbie is a treasure, and I'm so excited to see where the next book goes.

Honestly, I waited a few days to let it sit, but I was very disappointed in this book. I adored Soft Flannel Hank so much, and while this book was okay, it was nothing compared to it's predecessor. I felt the writing and story quality of Hold Fast was very different from MacArthur's debut, but pushed it off as being a different genre, ect. This book lacked the angst and depth of character, the intrigue and feel of impending danger, the grit and magic of Soft Flannel Hank. It's fine, and if a different author had written it maybe I wouldn't have had such high expectations. I just have a hard time truly believing the author that wrote Soft Flannel Hank also wrote this one. I will continue to read the other books in this series specifically, but I will no longer be looking forward to them the way I did with this one.

"If your love cannot bear a bit of distance now and the, is it really love at all?"

A welcome return to World's End and the gang there. There's a window of overlap with the end of Soft Flannel Hank and the beginning of TATSRD, which if you've read SFH, you'll understand why. Then it's full steam ahead on bringing Callum and Jory back together after nearly a millennium apart.

The magnetism between Jory and Callum was electric. From the righteous fury of discovering the other has been alive the whole time, to the bone deep fear of returning to the depths of their loneliness, to rediscovering the love for each other in the light of their immortal revelations.

It is a well known fact that I love a good supporting cast, and TATSRD is no exception. I'm dying to know more about Magda's magic, I will protect Robbie with my entire being, and I CAN'T WAIT to dig deeper into Nat and Niamh's story.

Hey Eliza MacArthur, I'll be sending you a bill for the massage I need after all of that tension. I'm kidding; I loved it. Give me a thousand years of emotional torture packed into one novel any time you want, woman.

Jory and Callum. Sigh... Callum and Jory. Callum made a big boo-boo 900something years ago and pretty much ruined Jory's life. When they meet by chance in the present, thinking each other are dead, there is some major explaining to do. Secrets don't stay buried, and it's time for these star-crossed lovers to come clean. Oh, and Cal is a vampire now. Not great. Time for Callum to get to wooing because Jory wants her life (the one she had before Callum) back.

If you read Soft Flannel Hank, you're probably ravenous for this story like I was. It did not disappoint me one bit. Gorgeous found family and secondary characters. It was worth the 3am tears, and it was so uplifting, because if these two can make it after some major fuckups and 1000 years apart...

5/5

I received an ARC of ‘Till All the Seas Run Dry.

Callum, a vampire, and Jory, a selkie, are star crossed lovers who reconnect after centuries of losing each other. Their secrets kept them apart. Now in the modern Pacific Northwest, they get to decide how to trust each other and if they can come together to help each other find home. The depictions of friendships were beautifully written, especially male friendships. The character insights into how to manage the rebuilding of trust without settling were helpful and real.

I didn’t want this book to end, so much so that I read the final chapters and prologue three times in a row. I didn’t want to leave the magic.  Eliza McArthur is a witch whose magic is storytelling and character building. Her thoughtful prose weaves a spellbinding and heartening tale of acceptance and love.

I’m not a fan of vampirism, and yet Eliza McArthur imbues it with unexpected coziness. I was expecting to be grossed and wasn’t at all. She’s turned into an expression of consent and love.

We get to see glimpses of Hank and Esther from her first book, Soft Flannel Hank, and more glimpses of Nat and Niamh as well as insights into other characters. I’m definitely coming back for more of World’s End and its paranormal citizens.

Eliza McArthur has joined my very short list of must-buy-authors who I will always purchase without question.

My opinion is my own. I received nothing in exchange for my review for this ARC.

Once I got to the 40% point of the book, I gave up on it and started to skim it until it was over. That’s why I DNFd this book.

If you haven’t read Soft Flannel Hank, I definitely would suggest people do that before delving into this book.

When I read this authors first book (Soft Flannel Hank), I was pleasantly surprised and I loved the world building and characters, unfortunately her second book Hold Fast was a bit disappointing for me. There were things in it that I was not a fan of. I was really excited about this one, but unfortunately I had similar things that I had problems with that I had with Hold Fast.

There were things in this book that I really enjoyed, hence why I highlighted them, but then there were other things that I felt was unnecessary for the plot of the story. Also, there were secondary characters in here that I felt overshadowed the main characters love story. I sort of felt that way with the book Hold fast. Also parts of this were boring.

One of the things though that really ticked me off about the hero was the fact that when he turned into a vampire, he went back home where he stayed with Jory, and because his hunger was so great he drained her of blood. If she was a normal human, he would have killed her, but because Jory is a selkie and immortal I found it way too convenient that she survived, so her and Callum could have a second chance together.

I’m at the point with this author where I will give her one last chance, and if she disappoints me again, then I’m done reading her work. It’s unfortunate too, because I really loved Soft Flannel Hank.

Let me tell you, this author can really do slow burn romance right. 🔥I finished this second book in the “Elements of Pining” series and man is it a story of PINING in all caps. The total flip of Callum being the misunderstood villain of the first book to a total lover boy who has been pining over his long lost love for a thousand years was a flip I never knew I needed! I tore through this book in about a week and was very resentful of life when it got in the way of my reading it! 😂 The unique interpretation of Selkies and vampires was so exciting to read about and this is a supernatural pairing that I have never seen in a novel before so that makes it super unique!

I would say that you need to read the first book in the series where these characters are side characters to get a better grasp of all of the characters mentioned, the world, and the why as to how Callum and Jory are here and how they intersected again. The tragic misunderstandings and circumstance that tore them apart for a thousand years really tugs at your heartstrings and the descriptions of their first life together made me so swoony. I want to live in their first little seaside cottage on a Scottish island. This author’s incorporation of tender memores and moments made this romance hurt so good! A few songs came to mind when I was reading that just really made me think of these songs:

My Lover’s Gone” by Dido for when Jory walks from healing and waits for months to accept he is gone

“Your Body is a wonderland” the shed makeout scene. Mostly when she bangs her head on the metal shed and he puts his hand behind it 🥹

“A thousand years” Christina Perri because he has loved her for a thousand years

I literally finished a reading stretch and got some water after a midnight reading session where I totally lost myself in the story and put on “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri. 🥰 I was feeling so dreamy and wrapped up in the story and that was the perfect song to put on for them. ✨

I loved that Callum was such a good man and how much he wanted to find a way to get Jory to trust him again. 🥹 I also loved Esther and meddling Magda so much! I wish I got to see more of Hank but he made his appearances a few times and I enjoyed that a lot. It was also interesting to see Robbie, who was Callum’s man who located Esther for him, get a redemptive shine in this book as well. Everyone it seems gets second chances at life and happiness in World’s End.

If you are looking for a slow burn, Selkie/vampire romance, with small town vibes as well as “I’ve crossed oceans of time to find you” vibes the dig in!! I can’t wait for another book in the series! I am hooked and need more World’s End magic please! 🙏

CWs and CNs at the end. Spoilers for book 1 in the series.

I was so excited for this second book in Eliza MacArthur’s *Elements of Pining* series after the magnificence that was *Soft Flannel Hank* and holy wow this did not disappoint. The pining was felt! The angst, angsted! My weeps WEPT!!!

Callum and Jory were both significant presences in the previous novel and we find out at the end that they have some kind of charged history. Jory was a good friend to Esther in the first book and I was so curious for her story. On the other hand, Callum, who was the scary villain in Esther’s mind turns out to not be that villainous but most of all have the biggest heart and the biggest feelings. These two characters have such an epic love story and we watch them fall in love with each other for the second time after a thousand years and so many untold secrets tore them apart.

MacArthur writes like a dream and it was such a genuine pleasure to watch these characters come to life. Her prose just sizzles through my entire body and Jory and Callum’s love story was simultaneously this big epic thing, the stuff of legends, but simultaneously soft, a little fragile and so very relatable. This series is named aptly, because my god the pining for each other was on another level. I love a second chance romance, but this was done so creatively and imaginatively and allowed for utterly lush scenes where Jory and Callum’s heightened emotions just spilled out all over each other. The weight of history, of secrets, of a love that had literally stood the test of time despite their loneliness and grief, was this huge, swirling and all encompassing feeling that I come to romance to find and I’m in awe of how MacArthur managed to convey that.

As a constant lover of the ocean I adored how much the sea and the moody coasts of WA and Scotland was such a tangible presence throughout the book and set the perfect tone for a love story as tempestuous as the high tides. Rouding out this perfection was the highly colourful set of meddling side characters, all of whom are so very endearing and I can’t wait for their stories!

5 massive moody stars for this beautiful book!

I LOVED Soft Flannel Hank last year, so I was very excited when 'Til All the Seas Run Dry, book #2 in Eliza's Elements of Pining series, got a release date.
We were kinda left with a cliffhanger for 'TATSRD's MCs, Jory and Callum, at the end of SFH, and I was champing at the bit to know the story there.

Jory , a selkie, and Callum, a vampire, haven't seen each other in almost 1,000 years and they both thought the other had died. You'd think they'd be happy to see each other, but Jory thinks Callum left her for dead, so she's pissed. Callum also has something of hers that she's been missing for centuries and wants back, but he's afraid once she gets it, she'll leave him forever.

This was an ANGSTY one. They still love each other, but there are unresolved feelings. Things that should have been communicated 1,000 years ago come to light, so the journey back to each other isn't easy. This leads to some epic tension, but don't worry, we still get plenty of steam throughout.

It was nice to see there was more to Callum than how he was portrayed through most of SFH. Did I think I'd ever swoon for him when I read Soft Flannel Hank?
Absolutely not, bit I DID. By the end of the book, I bet you're swooning too.

As much as I loved our MCs, the side characters really give them a run for their money. Magda is as meddling as always. And I LOVED every scene with Robbie and Walter (such scene stealers). It was also good to catch up with Esther, Hank, Nat, and Niamh.

Overall, just like Soft Flannel Hank, I really loved this one and I can't wait for our next trip back to World's End.

I like that we have a set-up for Robbie's story. Although, I'm also curious to see if Eliza has any more in store for Nat and Niamh.

I voluntarily read an early copy of this book.

To find the most perfect love and have it ripped from his hands before he could do a thing to save it.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
*ARC review*
Book was definition of angst, loneliness and longing.
We have vampire Callum who left his girl Jory because of the misunderstanding almost thousand years ago. He thought she was dead, unknowingly to him she is a selkie and she just needed deep sleep.
So he left, he punished those who turned him, he built life so she would have been proud of him. And he was lonely, so lonely with all this suffering and pain inside.
She (once awake) waited for him, but spent next eternity feeling angry and sad and lost. Especially because, without knowing the significance, he took her sealskin with him, so she couldn’t return back to the sea.

What will happen when they met after all this years? When her only wish is to return to her parents and leave this world behind? And what he will do when facing her? Can he convince her of staying or simply convince her of anything really?

I really liked this story and feelings it evoked in me. You can feel his anguish, his desire to right the wrong and hopelessness of situation they are in now.

The only moment which disappointed me was my reaction to some Jory’s actions and words. I understand that she needed time to process and accept everything, but her hurtful comments were a little bit too much for my soft heart. She seemed slightly unfair to him, and it rubbed me in a wrong way, so I couldn’t fully connect with her.

Many thanks to @elizamacarthurwrites for the opportunity to read this beautiful arc before official release later this month.

Oh my goodness it was so good to spend time with everyone in World’s End again! Eliza MacArthur has created the loveliest found family with this series.

In Soft Flannel Hank, we got to meet Callum MacLeod as a villainous character (and Robbie as his henchman), and I honestly wasn’t sure how things would turn around and I would enjoy him as a hero in his own story.

Boy, did Eliza MacArthur prove me wrong. (With Robbie too. Both men stole my heart in this book!)

Til All the Seas Run Dry is a beautiful second chance romance, with all of the thoughtfulness, complexity, and kindness I’ve come to know and love in MacArthur’s writing. I loved Jory’s strength, sassiness, and compassion, just as much as I loved seeing Callum’s steadfastness and patience, his determination to give their relationship the time and effort it deserved. Following these two on their journey sent me straight to swoon city! (And that’s not even factoring in the car scene. OMG THAT CAR SCENE!)

I have not read many books with selkies as main characters, even in PNR, and I loved the way Jory was written and represented. She just reinforced for me how fun and diverse the cast of characters is, and you truly feel like a part of their community while you’re immersed in these books! (I will also say, if you are a fan of Nix from the Immortals After Dark series, like I am, you will definitely enjoy Magda and her shenanigans!)

And of course, that epilogue left me on the edge of my seat for the next installment! She’s done it again! I’m hooked, and if you are a fan of cozy, PNR romance featuring complex, thoughtful characters and beautiful writing and imagery, definitely check out this series.

I've been waiting for Callum and Jory's story ever since I finished Soft Flannel Hank a year ago and just like with Hank and Esther's story I loved, loved, loved this book.

It has a slower, heavier pace than SFH which I think perfectly fits with the heaviness of grief, pain, loss and betrayal that both Callum and Jory have felt for hundreds of years. The descriptions of their grief and longing for the love they had, and the life that Jory had before Callum was so beautiful and heartbreaking.

I loved that this is a much slower story and that their tentative steps towards each other is allowed the space and room that it so richly deserves.

Once again, I loved the side characters - Magda (I would LOVE to read her story, because I think it will be wonderful), Nat and Niamh and the wonderful glimpses we get of Hank and Esther (you really do need to read SFH before this book, simply because it is one of the best books I've ever read AND because you will appreciate the anger and fear everyone has towards Callum a bit better) was such a joy to read and really makes me want to read their stories as well.

And then Robbie, that tattooed gentle man wiggled his way into my heart and I find that I am really looking forward to reading his story. I don't know what plan Eliza has in store for him, but I know that it will be special and that I will love it.

‘Til All The Seas Run Dry 🌊

‘Til All The Seas Run Dry is book 2 in the Elements of Pining series. After being introduced to Jory and Callum in Soft Flannel Hank last spring, I have been eagerly anticipating their story and it was a comfort and joy to be back in the town of World’s End. I loved seeing all of my favorites like Esther and Hank, Magda, Niamh, and Nat and making new friends with Robbie- I love him!- and Walter. The found family within this series is next level. I love knowing that Eliza has much more to write within this universe!

Jory and Callum’s story is full of longing and angst. They have history, nearly one thousand years of it, and most of that time has been spent in pain and grief over having lost the love of their immortal lifetime. It’s the surprise of their life to discover each other alive and well considering neither one really knows the truth about the other. They are both rightfully angry as secrets are revealed but their love runs deep and their attraction, after all this time, is undeniable. Their journey from overcoming their pain and embracing their love is heartbreaking and beautiful.

This felt like the most romantic, most poetic, and definitely most horny book that Eliza has written and I loved every page of it. What I love about Eliza is her ability to confront tough subjects but without unnecessary trauma. Her writing is full of nuance providing excellent depth in her characters and their story. Callum has to overcome his anxiety and fear, as does Jory, in order to move forward with a fresh future. Who among us can relate? I certainly could.

Thank you Eliza for the ARC of this beautiful book, all thoughts and opinions are my own. ‘TATSRD is out now! Don’t let the angst fool you, it’s a tire popping good time. Iykyk.

Til All the Seas Run Dry follows Jory and Callum rediscovering each other and their love. It is the second story in Element of Pining series and continues directly on from Soft Flannel Hank. Whilst there is some continuation of the story, I think most important information is repeated and you don't need to read the first book (I didn't!). However, I do wish I had and will definitely go back to it.

I really enjoyed this story! As a supernatural/paranormal romance, this was not my normal read, but I really fell for the characters and their found family. Jory is an immortal selkie (seal shifter) who is trapped on land following the end of her marriage to Callum almost 1000 years before. Callum, a scottish vampire businessman, unintentionally stumbles upon Jory, and both are stunned to see the other alive.

This story is all about emotions, as they come to terms with the lies and omissions which led to the end of their relationship. There is so much hurt, pining, and healing, and it really came across beautifully.

Jory and Callum are both really sypathetic characters, and the pain on both sides in completely understandable. I loved seeing them return to each other. I really felt that they had chemistry, which definitely turned to heat in the bedroom. I wish there had been a sexy/feeding scene, as I felt this had been built up as something potentially really sensual.

My favourite part of the story was the found family, and I can't wait to read Robbie's, and Nat and Niamh's books. I'm also obsessed with Walter 😍

Overall, a great read and I will definitely be reading more in this series.

This book was an emotional roller coaster in the best way! The love story between Callum and Jory is easily one of my favorites now. The book was so well written that I had no trouble feeling the tension and anguish between the characters followed by reconciliation of their love. I was reading on the edge of my seat screaming internally at both characters, hoping they got their second chance. There were so many tearjerker moments and don’t get me started on how romantic Callum is. The book was so well written that the dialogue and interaction of Callum and Joey felt organic and natural, like they were real people and not written on paper. The book is a dual POV but it was so easy to track between each switch and keep up with what was going on. The transition between the two POVs was so smooth that there was no faltering, so to speak. I’ve read books where it seemed the author had trouble getting back into the individual speech patterns of the characters. There was none of that here. I could easily see Til All the Seas Run Dry being adapted into a movie and I would be the first in line to buy tickets, that’s how much I loved this book!

Eliza MacArthur seems to have a knack for somehow leaving me completely satisfied and dissatisfied at the same time. She's done it again with Book 2 in her Elements of Pining series.

'Til All the Seas Run Dry gave me exactly what I wanted for Callum and Jory! What I wasn't expecting was for Robbie to steal the show. I stayed up a bit too late trying to find out what was going on with/happening to sweet Robbie! I couldn't put this book down.

Spoiler alert: This book is likely to give you a thing for masculine presenting people who paint their finger nails. I loved it!

I hope this is planned to be at least a three or four book series because I want happy endings for everyone in the world Eliza has created!

I love a good redemption story. Callum is a vampire who was the villain in the Soft Flannel Hank story. Turns out he DID have a heart of gold (at least metaphorically) and his heart has belonged to Jory the last 900 years. Jory is a selkie, which is a seal shapeshifter. They used to be married long ago but were separated and each has thought the other to be dead for centuries. When Esther showed Jory a photo of Callum and asked her if she knew that man, you could FEEL the punch in the gut of her realization that he's still alive. There's a ton of angst along their road to a HEA.
I also appreciated learning about Jory's parents who live under the sea. Jory had such great role models in her parents of what true love really is.
Thank to Eliza MacArthur for the ARC. Opinions are my own.

This is an epic love story about a selkie and a vampire that spans a thousand years.

A love story that took me a thousand years to read (okay, two months). To be clear, that's a me problem; I much prefer audiobooks.

I found reading about a selkie to be very interesting as that's not a creature I have encountered in a paranormal romance before.

This book is SUPER angsty. Jory and Callum live in matrimonial bliss for a short time before a mysterious attack tears them apart. They wander the Earth living half-lives until they eventually run into each other by chance. They must find a way to heal the deep wounds between them and decide if they will stay together. The obsession, pain, and desperstion, felt by these two was truly palpable.

The story was swoon level romantic. Marjory’s and Callum’s love was everlasting and surpassed time and the grave. I enjoyed reading how each character moved forward, both the triumphs, heartbreak, and crashing loneliness… and built a life separate from each other and later together. The life they built together incorporated friends, memories and shared experiences.
I especially enjoyed how the characters created a shared community of family and friends.
The characters were well developed and their motivations were clear.
The flowery language was sometimes overbearing. Also, the page length was longer than need be for the story’s content

An excellent sequel to Soft Flannel Hank! I loved seeing Jory and Callum reconnect and trust each other again and I love the supernatural community of World's End. I can't wait to read Robbie's book to see what happens with him ❤️
You knocked it out of the park, Eliza, and I can't wait to keep reading the stories you write!

Eliza will always and forever write books that speak to my soul.If you love pining, these two have 900 years of it! The supernatural elements - as usual - fit effortlessly throughout. I cried so much, because the tension, longing, and loneliness these two had was palpable. And, like everyone else who has read this knows, Robbie steals the show and I need that story ASAP (no pressure).

A sexy, romantic novel with great characters

I loved Soft Flannel Hank and this book made me fall more in love with the characters of World’s End! It is sexy, funny, romantic, and leaves you pining for Book 3. The characters are so endearing and Eliza’s writing is real and engaging. I hope to get lost in this world for many books to come!
