Andrew Hilbert is among my favorite writers, and Inner Space shows why. He tells such weird, funny stories (a house turns from wood and stone to flesh, and what do the characters do? They shave the skin to help the house stay neat). He's a writer who has found his voice, and it's quintessentially his.
