I WANT MORE. After reading, this easily shot to my top 4 favorite manhwas (I only have four aotm).
I was a bit hesitant to start reading because of the cover picture - really thought that the artwork is so-so and that it will just be a typical isekai story (if you are following my reviews, I have read quite a lot that it is hard to find a story that will hook me in) but I was wrong.
After reading chapter 1 - I knew that I would be hooked. It was so rare for a story to instantly show us the reason for time reversal and the process on how to do that and this one managed it. Granted that it may be cringey for some that the ML did everything for love but hey, I’m a hopeless romantic so I can overlook that. lol.
I love this manhwa so much. I love our main leads. I love how in their second life, it was Eve who reached out her hand to Michael/Mikhael, and I love that in whatever lifetime it is, the only sure thing is that Eve is the only woman that he will love.
I also love the theme of Eve planning to take the crown so she can free the Homunculus of their slavery. She kicks arse! I am waiting to see her get the crown with the king of Homunculus as her sword and lover.
The only sad thing about this is that even if this is based on a completed novel, you cannot find any translation online, no translation group has picked it up and even MTL versions are non-existent. I wonder why? This is such a gem!
I ADORE EVE. and mikael. eve has a chance to make sure the past doesn’t repeat itself but she didn’t know why someone turned back time. mikael is the king of the homunculus, though his powers aren’t awakened in this life yet. in this new life, eve chose mikael as her personal knight unlike her previous life in which she didn’t choose any homunculus to be knighted. now, eve is dedicated in making the life of homunculus better without stepping into traps laid by her older sister. i can’t wait for more chapters.
I love reincarnation stories, and I love the revenge and vindication most of the heroes get in such stories. Nothing excites me more than when the hero(ine) realizes their own worth while doing things differently the second time around. And while Revolutionary Princess Eve started very interesting, with good tension and the start of good world building, I didn't really get what I was looking for. In her second attempt at life, Eve mostly channeled the Mary Sue trope, and I quickly got tired of it - she had all of the skills and all of the moral high-ground. Most of the times, we were placed on the outside of her schemes and I was frustrated the best parts (the manipulating, coercing and making friends with members of the court & scheming to outsmart those who supported her enemies) were taken away from us, leaving us with only the end results. The world building started strong, but after the skeleton of the world was set, it ended up only serving as a supplement when and how the story of Eve needed it. The moment the romantic tension disappeared, I almost lost the will to finish the story, but after a long pause in reading I somehow managed, with some skimming. 2.5 stars.
10/10. Utter perfection. Eve is the main reason this story is so amazing. Our revolutionary, activist princess I would be a devoted follower and follow her to the MF grave I love that woman so much! Crying just thinking about all she and the homunculi slaves had to endure to gain their freedom. Eve and Mikael were the best freaking duo, I loved the slow burn of their relationship. Mikael was such a supportive and protective male lead, he put his trust in Eve the entire ride. Seeing every character fall for Eve’s brilliance and kindness was top tier.
The entire imperial family made me sick to my stomach, and it was my first time reading a manhwa with slaves that were forced to perform sexual acts and it honestly made my heart hurt so much. If I saw the third and eighth princess in real life it would be on SIGHT. The entire time I was reading I desperately wanted justice for the homunculi, so I guess that was what made Eve’s character so much more special. She was a true revolutionary. Seeing injustice and standing against that and putting her life on the line to make change happen. It was truly a beautiful read.
Does no one else see or feel a sense of incredulousness with the premise? The fmc was an unfavored princess of an empire that didn't discriminate against women as rulers, but because she tucked in her hands and feet n remained sedentary, she was taken out by her sister, who wanted to consolidate her claim to the throne. In her rebirth, she decided to snatch away her sisters 'proverbial' right hand man/wardog/slave, and gain the throne for herself. A little messed up, and hypocritical, considering that the fmc (in her inner narrative) looked down on the empires practice of creating humonculi to use as slave labor, and thought herself to be someone to be set apart from her siblings and peers, just by virtue of herself feeling sorry for humonculi.
Reading this, I felt reminded of Korean history with slavery.
@Ch 58 Manga @CH 90 Novel Read summaries rather than direct translation for the rest of the novel. Another fantasy romance with time travel and political maneuvering. I appreciate that the characters (beyond the main villian) feel like real individuals. They ask questions when they don't understand rather than letting misunderstandings grow. Plans, emotions, and motivations are not simple. It isn't all instalove and mean girl party antics. Information about the first time line doesn't solve all the issues and conflicts so tension is not lost and unexpected things can happen. The ending feels rushed and the epilogue style extra chapters feel filmsy, but at least the main plot is resolved.

I have seen doujin with similar themes, where girls are treated as sex slaves. I never thought I would see a manhwa with male sex slaves. It goes to show that female sexuality may not be that different from men after all and women might enjoy similar fantasies.
This story is set in an empire which creates homunculus - handsome, strong men who are brainwashed into obedience to the imperial family. The best among them serve as personal guards to princesses, they use these men as objects. Our female lead grew up with golems and believes any conscious entity deserves rights. She is sent back in time and she is determined to not watch the empire fall to a revolt, she will rise to be the crown princess.
The art is ok, good even. The story is interesting but only the first season is out. Lets see how the story develops, the world seems to have multiple power systems and there is a lot of potential for world building. Maybe the books is better in that aspect.
It was overall a great book, it had drama, romance, revenge... and even spicy scenes The story is nothing outside of this world but it's honestly a satisfying reading, it adds to that believe that revenge is better cold The extra chapters were nice but i wish we had more story for Rosie and Syl
