Hunting for Blue by Ellis Summers is my second book of the author and I really like her way of narrating the story.
The plot in the book revolves round Simone Taylor , a photographer and two male protagonist who are good looking , smart , nerd Calvin Taylor brother of Sim and his best friend Nash Redmond (both of unbelievably rich). The story begin with Simone hiding her repressed feelings for Nash who is a playboy , yet both of them share those long stares and care for each other way too much. Meanwhile Calvin surprises Simone with the news that he got married in Spain and gets his wife to meet to everyone. Everything goes by smoothly , but Simone still felt a ich in this situation , later finds herself entangled in death of her brother , unresolved land issues , FBI , Nash's confession and many more secrets.
Overall I had a good time reading this book , it was easy and smooth , but I wished the Simone character to be a bit smart not act so childishly. And I found the ending a bit confusing regarding the land issues (needed but more clarity)

Rating ⭐⭐⭐.5

A romantic suspense that’ll keep you on the edge of your seat until the last page. Ellis Summers writes romantic suspense for the reader and the result is an unputdownable read. Filled with intriguing characters, intense suspense, realistic romance, descriptive narration, twisty plot twists, Hunting for Blue is your next binge-read.

Let’s start with the world-building and descriptive narration. The world-building is exceptional and expertly executed. It works hand-in-hand with the descriptive narration to create a story that is impossible to put down. The setting is beautiful. The descriptive narration is the perfect blend of action, romance, suspense, and emotions.

The characters are complex, intricate, and add such depth to the plot. The three main characters (Simone, Cal, and Nash) are very close and add an interesting dynamic to the overall story. I connected with Simone right away. What she went through in this romantic suspense had me whipping through the pages.

The romance between Simone and Nash is one of my fave tropes. I love their complications and overcoming many obstacles to get their HEA. Brilliantly written, the romance will make you cheer.

If you’re looking for a romantic suspense you won’t be able to stop reading, pick up Hunting for Blue.

Disclaimer: I read this on Kindle Unlimited.

Short mystery with romance and a touch of age gap
If you like mystery with your romance, you will enjoy this book. Simone Taylor is 27yo, very independent, great photographer and only loves her motorcycle a little less than Cal and Nash. Calvin is her brother and his best friend is Nash Redmond. They are wealthy (I would have liked a little more about how they got that way) but each has chosen a different path. Cal has quit work and is obsessed with land that his family has owned a long time. Whereas Nash still works as owner and operator of an ad agency. Later you’ll find out why. Nash is 35yo and came into Simone’s life as a British foreign exchange student. Somehow, he never left. When Cal dies mysteriously, Simone and Nash go on the hunt to find out what is happening. Loved Nash’s dog, Venus!
This author’s trademark is writing about unique characters with interesting events surrounding them. You’ll find that in spades in this short but intriguing story. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through BookSirens.

A Compelling Story of Secrets, Family, and Love
Hunting For Blue was an engaging read that pulled me into Simone Taylor’s journey from the beginning. The combination of family secrets, a suspicious death, and a generations-old feud over land creates plenty of mystery and tension.
I enjoyed watching Simone piece together the truth while working alongside Nash. The story does a good job balancing the suspense surrounding Calvin’s past with the emotional and romantic elements of Simone’s journey.
There are plenty of questions along the way that kept me turning the pages to find out what was really going on. A captivating read with an intriguing mix of mystery, family drama, and romance.
Definitely worth reading.

First off, thank you to the author for sharing the advanced reader copy of this story.
Second, it’s really between a 3 and 4 star read for me.
What I loved about the story was the adventure part. The plot is really interest and kept me wanting to read on to find out what happened.
This is huge because I found the main character incredibly childish and would have given up had the mystery not been so good.
The childish main character and the unrealistically protective two male protagonists (one being the absent-for-most-of-the-book brother of the FMC) made me hold back from giving a full 4 star review.

Stand alone story

This is the first story I’ve read by Ellis Summers. I thought the writing itself was good, though the story seemed to be one lie or omission after another, despite many opportunities and requests to share details. If new information contradicts something earlier in the book, it comes off more as an annoying betrayal instead of an interesting twist. I did like that the main characters were both sure of their own feelings throughout the book. I’d give the book 3.5 stars.

I received a copy of the book at my request (and read it in KU), and the opinions here are my own.

Loved the narration of Jamie-Lyn Markos

We meet Simone Taylor, who is a photographer, and nerdy Calvin brother of Simone and his best friend Nash Redmond Simone is hiding her feelings for Nash who is a playboy. Both of theme keep , sharing long looks , but nothing more. Calvin surprises Simone with the news that he got married in Spain and gets his wife to meet to everyone. All seem well that is until the the death of Calvin, soon she finds herself entangled in death of her brother , land issues , a cute dog, dealing with the FBI , and throw in Nash's confession and many more secrets.

A great mystery thriller.

I loved this book!

Simone Taylor has had a crush on her brother’s best friend Nash since she was little. They are good friends, but she’d like to pursue a relationship. The only problem is Nash is a “serial” dater – he can’t or won’t commit to any of them. When a mystery ensues involving her brother Cal, Simone finds out there is a lot she doesn’t know, about Nash OR her brother. Highly recommend this book – it’s a short, quick read!

“Something’s rotten in Denmark”
Could there be any more ‘confusion and deception, liars and actors, lovers and death’? I think Venus is the only guileless character. But that’s what makes this story work…
Readers are taken on hairpin curves at dangerous speeds, so close your eyes and hold on tightly – because ‘money attracts all kinds of desperate people’.

Be careful whom you marry because your family also has to deal with that person (and the in-laws, too).

I’ve read some of the author’s other works and will continue to do so.

This was quite the action thriller! I found myself getting entrenched in what was uncovered from Calvin’s past, all the while seeing the romance bloom between Calvin and Simone. I had an enjoyable time reading it this week as each chapter brought new surprises.

At first I enjoyed this book but as it went on things started to get more confusing. I didn’t understand some of the actions of the characters or how it was explained. I think the author tried to fit too much into the story and it didn’t go as smoothly as it should have.

Side note: I received a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review

Suspense and mystery from the first page in this excellent original story line. Romance with a little spice , Nash and Simone navigate the twists and turns, the half truths to get to their HEA. Well written and edited, this will stay on my Kindle for a re-read in the future. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

A quick mystery with romance. Plenty of secrets and mystery going on. Learning everyone has been keeping secrets ti “protect her” is a common theme for the female main character. Finding love is also a bonus for her. *I was given an advanced reader copy via BookSirens and am voluntarily giving my honest review.

An odd but great book

As each chapter was read my brain was more confused. An excellent plot with creditable characters. Confusion amongst the main characters led to an ever changing pace.

Enjoyed

Lots of twists, a fake marriage, old land disputes, a supposedly fatal accident, and a marriage proposal. Sim is constantly coming across misleading information. Enjoyed the book

Thoroughly enjoyed this romantic suspense! I would say the main premise is figuring out what happened to her brother more than the romance BUT it was very well done. Closed door intimacy but you can feel the love and passion burning through them. There is some profanity - more especially at the end but thankfully does not dominate the book but I would prefer none. Also, I would’ve loved there to have been an epilogue to conclude the characters and sum it all up as I find it concludes/find all around resolution a bit more with one - hence both of those “cons” knocking it a star down

This is a very good mystery and I don’t want to spoil anything but if you like trying to guess who’s the bad guy etc - you’ll enjoy this book!.
