Let me make myself clear here. I’m giving this story 2 stars purely because I like the little deal with the devil thing we’ve got going on. That’s pretty much it. I didn’t really love anything else in this story. Rapunzel is badass, so that's fun. But that’s it.

The plot has a million holes, the storyline is not well hashed out and super shallow. There's close to no relationship development - everyone is just.. In love right from the get go.

BUT. I like the deal with the devil. Where does it fit into this story? Nowhere. Why is it there? No clue. Is there any other supernatural shit in this book/series? No. But I love a good revenge plot, and Quinn’s was the best, so I was there for it.

This is the second and final book in the Grim Tower duology, a dark and twisted reimagining of Rapunzel.

Twined begins where Twisted ended… Rapunzel is hidden away and under the protection of Wren, Dax, and Quinn (yes, this is a dark why choose). We also get to see Rapunzel ready to take on her father.

Just like the first book, there is action, adventure, and plenty of spice!

“Knowing Rapunzel, she won’t hide away here while her father destroys this kingdom hunting her. Nor is it my right, or Quinn and Dax’s, to stop her. Victory at any cost.”

I absolutely love that we had more character and relationship development.

“If all this isn’t love, nothing is.”

I’ll miss these characters but if I’m being honest I’ll probably miss Quinn the most.

First, I want to thank the gorgeous Renee Rocco for sending me an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

I LOVED this book. It was the perfect conclusion to the duet. This was full of character development, battle (both internal and external), and coming into one’s own. We all knew Rapunzel was the rightful heir to Rygard, but seeing her come into her own and take the throne was an absolute delight.

The story was AMAZING, but because the story was on point .. the spice wasn’t as spicy as the first one. This book is much more plotty, which I personally enjoyed. The focus is elsewhere, but the tension (sweet tension) is always there. It was a delicious slow burn between all of the ruckus & strife.

I would recommend the entire duet to just about anyone. SO GOOD!!

I was chosen to be a part of the Twined ARC team in exchange for this review. This review includes some spoilers:

I knew I was going to love this book because Twisted was incredible and I knew Rocco wouldn’t disappoint and overwhelmingly, this was pretty close to perfection as I could’ve expected. My only gripe is that the timeline felt too tight. The pacing of book one, for me, felt more organic and unrushed. I would have liked more time in with Rapunzel in the castle plotting or having their plan go wrong and having to wait before it could be fixed and John killed. The latter half of the book felt like blink-and-it’s-over where everything was just a smidge too perfect.

I really enjoyed getting to see how the character’s relationships (as a harem, separate couples, and individual people) have evolved in the three months that have elapsed since the end of book one. Rapunzel has come into her confidence and doesn’t resent her hair/power, Wren has opened up to Rapunzel and doesn’t blame her, Quinn isn’t all grumbly and tormented about his damnation, and Dax is the perfect mediator between everyone, keeping them all together and (relatively) relaxed. I loved the casual vibes we got in the first ~quarter of the book. They’re preparing to infiltrate, training Rapunzel to fight (which, kind of unfortunately, we never actually get to see her fighting anyone cause the coup just works too perfectly - but I’ll get to that later), being their cute little harem of love and absolutely filthy sex. I missed the sass and jabs between all the men and it’s great to see how comfortable they are with Rapunzel as a part of their little family after the ending of book one. You can definitely tell that they’ve grown closer and more in love in that time.

I’m sure I’ll also mention this later in the review but the SPICE. Rocco really knows how to write the group scenes as well as the individual couple scenes - sometimes I find that why choose romances have group scenes that are either not enough/fade to black, or like twenty pages long and feel like they’d never actually happen in this way or for this long. There’s a really great combination of all of it and I loved seeing all of their relationships develop over the course of this novel.

The exposition was sprinkled in so well, though. Sometimes I find that authors spend way too much time upfront recapping what happened in previous books of a series in a way that feels like one of my high school students giving a book review but Rocco made it really natural. Something would be brought up about a plot point from the first book or about a character’s backstory and that’s when we’d get the, “oh yeah remember that Quinn was cursed by a demon and can literally send people to hell?” reminder. Speaking of Quinn: he is a big part of this novel (thank GOD (or should I say the devil???)) and the demon who bargained his soul offered Rapunzel the ability to free him from this bargain with “Two truths, freely offered, sealed in blood”. I knew to expect a lot of Quinn thanks to talks with Rocco via Instagram where I squealed into her DMs about my love for him - I just love toxic male love interests, what can I say? - so knowing that he had a chance to be free and not worry about his evil side was great.

Maybe I’m just a really fast reader and that’s why the plot felt rushed, but I really did feel like I blinked and all of a sudden they’re on the way to “deliver” Rapunzel to the king which is about 45% of the way through the book, but it felt like a much shorter period of time. When Rapunzel leaves her men to ingratiate herself into the king’s rule, I loved seeing how pained and proud the men were for her to take her given role and how she’s able to calm her men’s anger and convince them that she can handle herself - the king underestimates her (and all women) but her men won’t; they’ll support her 100% and at this point, it’s what she needs. When she is finally separated from her men and leaves with the king’s guard, we see - through Dax’s POV in this chapter - how Rapunzel is able to play to men’s expectations of a woman and play the meek, dutiful daughter who just wants to be reunited with her father after 24 years of various types of captivity.

Chapter 15 is when Rapunzel first meets her father and he is not having her “meek, submissive daughter” charade, “her false display of docility does not trick me. Any dolt can see the strained majesty in her graceful movements. The room crackles with the force of her courage. No, I am not fooled by her façade of timidity”. Rapunzel and John have a really well-written chess match going on. He’s trying to warm her up to him, rather than taking her hair by force and she is not fooled by his ‘father who’s thankful for being reunited with his daughter’s game. The good news is that Rapunzel joining the king means that Eleanor, Quinn’s sister, and the queen, has someone on her side; she’s able to learn of her brother and his battle to find and free her, and she’s able to help Rapunzel and her men kill the king. We love #GirlBosses. But, again, going back to the pacing, we’re like 70% of the way through the book and I keep thinking “...this is too easy. Something HAS to go wrong. What the FUCK is about to happen?!” Eleanor and Rapunzel team up and everything just kind of goes too perfectly for me toward the end. I like a little drama and this drama - especially compared to book one - kind of fizzled out for me.

John is basically on his deathbed, Eleanor sneaks in to tell Rapunzel and they manage to get the guys in, and while yes there is one “oh shit are they actually going to succeed” moment where you think all is lost, it just kind of…resolves itself too perfectly. When they sneak up on John, we get a chance to see his true evil for ourselves. He threatens Rapunzel. He threatens Eleanor. He’s able to disarm Wren and Quinn and torture Rapunzel by cutting her hair. Now, John is a great fucking villain but my god, do I HATE him. Stories like this MUST have a good villain but my god, I don’t enjoy it.

They kill John on basically their first try and they’re all able to live happily ever after. We get to see one last group sex scene and Rapunzel’s men worship her. The reverence with which these men love her…it’s fucking beautiful. Everything is wrapped up in a nice, neat bow.
Overall, I loved this book; the pacing is seriously my only gripe. The characterization is impeccable, the main character’s personalities get to grow and develop as individuals and together, and the good guys win. As far as retellings go, it’s a great mix of the original story and subverting our expectations; it’s dark but not TOO dark; the characters both fit into expected harem tropes and don’t. Rocco knew what she wanted and went for it with this duet and I am SO glad that I found it and was able to enjoy this ARC. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.

3 stars for a sexy HEA!

The second book in the Grim Tower duet, this book continues the dark, erotic version of Rapunzel’s story that began in Twisted.

In the last book, Rapunzel was rescued from her tower by her childhood friend, Wren, who took her out of anger in a bid for revenge. We watched as Rapunzel embraced her freedom with Wren and his two best friends in a surprising reverse harem relationship that saw each of them feeling way more than they anticipated.

Now, Rapunzel is safely hidden away in secret and protected by Wren, the larger-than-life and hilarious soldier Dax, and dark, tormented, Quinn. They are teaching her all she needs to know for her inevitable encounter with the evil king who is relentlessly searching for her and wishes to use her powers for his own gain. And, in private, they are exploring their passion for each other in all the ways that they can.

“Fuck me, but we’ve created a monster.”
“Oh, no, Wren … Make no mistake about it. You may have freed me, but you didn’t create the monster. All you did was let her out of her tower.”

While the last book showed us steamy encounters between Rapunzel and the men in her life, this book dives deeper into the emotion, and we get some actual romance (along with the hot, steamy, and sometimes kinky sex). I really liked exploring the different dynamics between the characters, and could honestly understand how they made it work between them. I could feel the connection and the love that they had for each other, and I thought the different aspects of the love story were really nicely written.

“All of me belongs to all of you.”
“I’ve always belonged to you, before I even knew you. To the three of you.”

There’s a deeper storyline for Quinn, and I loved seeing more of him, learning about his curse and seeing his character development. And there is action and excitement as the story builds to its climax with the foursome taking on the bad guy and fighting to return the kingdom to its rightful state.

I enjoyed this book. It’s a great ending to the story, and an interesting take on classic fairytale. I loved each of the characters, each of their unique personalities bringing something different to the story, and I loved seeing Rapunzel find her strength and fight for her people, and for the happy ending she and her men deserve.

3 stars.

Disclaimer: I was Given this Arc in Exchange for an Honest review. ❤️

5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is the second book in the Grim Towers duology.
It is a Dark Why Choose Romance so always check Trigger and Content Warnings.

The Final book in this Dark Rapunzel Retelling gets a standing ovation from me. Honestly it’s so bittersweet that this story has come to an end. I have that fluttery feeling in my chest when I know that the world I have come to love will live on in my heart even if the Characters journey is over.

I fell in love with Not Only Zee but the Three wonderful Men as well. I had such a good time reading this book. I laughed, I cried, I was on the edge of my seat. It’s a simple easy read with steam and spice. It’s just plain a good time. I’ll always recommend. Here are my favorite quotes.

“You’re playing with fire, Zee.” “But what a lovely way to burn.”

“You’re the real magic. It was never your hair. It was always you. Just you.”

If you love fairytale retailing and Dark why choose romance. These are for you I promise. ❤️

‘She will always be my Zee, Quinn's Princess, and Dax's Little Captive.’

Twined (ARC) *Possible spoilers ahead*

Twined is the second book in Renee's The Grim Tower duet. It leads straight off from the last books cliffhanger and straight into the story, this one gave me more of the tangled vibes but darker, I loved it.

This was so good. The character arcs, the storyline, the spice, just all of it. After the last book I couldn’t wait to see how this story would turn out, and I wasn’t disappointed. I loved the irony behind John's demise, that whole scene just kept me on edge the entire time I was reading it. The spice in this one was 👏 chapter 10 was one thing that stood out the most🗡. I also loved the last few chapters with the aftermath of Rapunzel being crowned and everything with Quinn.

Not going to lie, i was a little disappointed with this one. I absolutely loved the first book and was looking forward to reading this one but this was just missing something. It felt rushed but it also seemed quite slow, i had read about 100 pages and nothing had happened and the book was only 190 pages long. I definitely think this could have just been one book instead of a duet. The ending was pretty cute, I loved how they all ended up with their own role with Rapunzel. Wren was definitely my fave guy and i did feel like i struggled to tell Dax and Quinn apart in this book. The spice in this duet was good.

With a kingdom at stake, it’s all or nothing for Rapunzel and her renegades. This is book 2 (the final book) is a why choose Rapunzel retelling with so much plot, adventure, humor, romance and spicy. I loved Renee's writing style and how she mixed the original tale of Rapunzel with magic & an amazing adventure. This duet was so much fun. I absolutely loved Rapunzel (she's fierce all on her own) and each of her renegades, who had their own personality and gave Rapunzel something individually special. I loved how this story wrapped up even if I'm a little sad to see the characters go.

Loved this series! I really enjoyed the characters in this book and who doesn’t love a fairytale retelling?!

The plot is nice and easy to follow but the best bit for me was following the characters as they developed! If you are looking for a uncomplicated why-choose series I would definitely recommend.

(PS I did receive an ARC copy but honestly enjoyed the series)

Very grateful to be on the ARC team for Twisted & now Twined!

What a great way to end the series! The plot of this story flowed really well. I do think that some parts could have been fleshed out a little more, and the ending of the book felt rushed, but other than those two points, I enjoyed the storyline and felt it ended well.

My personal opinion… I wish Rapunzel ended up with Quinn vs. Wren as Prince Consort. I felt like R/Q have a stronger bond than R/W. Rapunzel did A LOT for Quinn and Quinn did a lot for her. Plus their spicy scenes? 🥵🌶️

As with Twisted, check Trigger Warnings before reading as this is a dark romance and is not for everyone.

This was one of my most anticipated reads for the year as I read the first book Twisted and loved every minute of it. You need to read the first book before diving into this one. The three MMC characters I love so much but Quinn will always have my heart. The plot was great and I was on the edge of my seat when the action was happening. I was almost in tears as I’m so invested in these characters. The spice is fantastic and Renee’s writing I enjoy as it’s so easy to follow. I’m sad to see this duet come to a close but I will be reading more of Renee’s work in the near future.

**This is the 2nd Book in the Grim Tower Duet. If you have not read Twisted you will want to before moving forward with Twined.

We start where book one ends. Rapunzel and her guys and hidden away from King John (Rapunzel's Father) and making the best of their alone time 😉

But all good things must come to an end. And it's time to take back Rygard and get Rapunzel on the thrown where she belongs.

They go through so many trials throughout the book, no spoilers 🙂 but my favorite part were getting to know the guys a little better, especially Quinn 🥰

Oh this book!! Talk about a way to finish a duet off with a bang! Literally and figuratively! 🔥❤️
You get to see how they fight to save the kingdom and defeat the king and also watch as their love for each other grows!
If I had to choose my favorite of the 3 boys it would be Dax! But shhhhh don’t tell the other ones!

First of all, I'd like to thank Renee Rocco for giving me the opportunity to read Twined in advance, in return for an honest review. I had the pleasure of also reading Twisted and was so excited to take part in Twined as well.

I loved how everything picked up right where we left off. It was a quick but enjoyable read with a very nice conclusion. I always love a good HEA. Though, I did find myself wanting a little more. Perhaps a look into Rapunzel, Wren, Dax and Quinn's future. (Rapunzel mentioned she dreamed of having a family). I wonder how that would work out, keeping their relationships a secret from Rygard and all.

I especially loved Quinn's ending. I truly believe he deserved happiness the most out of the guys.

King John finally got what was coming to him! And it was so nice to see Rapunzel being portrayed as such a strong badass with her men supporting and believing in her the entire way. Even when she let a little fear show, they lifted her up. Especially sweet Dax...

Wren's ending chapter brought us back to the beginning when this all started and was so heartfelt to see him reminiscing and realizing it had all been meant to be. Rapunzel was always meant to be the love of his life. (Even if that means sharing with his two best friends) She definitely doesn't mind!

Speaking of... The spice scenes were- *chefs kiss* However, I did enjoy that there was also so much plot as well. It made the story all the more better.

Side note about the author: She writes at the end of this book all her gratitude towards those whom kept her motivated to finish this duet when she found herself struggling.

Real life gets hard, and like many readers, I use reading as an escape from reality... So, I thank you (and all those who motivated you to keep going) for finishing this book even when you thought you couldn't. I really enjoyed this duet. So please know that your struggles were worth it.

I'll always swoon for a Rapunzel dark romance! This is book two in the series by Renee Rocco. Twined is TEN times better than the first. I thought I flew through the first quickly, but I was wrong compared to the lighting speed I finished this one.

Rapunzel, Wren, Dax, and Quinn are even more intense. Their fighting, their romantic mannerisms, their sex, their pain. Everything intensified. They are set on their journey to kill King John, Rapunzel's father. Encountering so many obstacles, making them switch up their plans last minute, some things take a turn for the worst. Rapunzel's bravery and determination never falters, and I admire her greatly.

I'm a sucker for Quinn! Gosh, do I love that demon of a man! His character development throughout the book is perfect. Renee Rocco weaved his journey perfectly. His love for Rapunzel grows so deeply he is almost a full man again. He will do anything to see her on the throne, and have a future together. His fierce protectiveness gives you a perspective that is different than Wren or Dax due to his highened senses.

Wren, my lover boy. He says the sweetest things, and is such a smooth talker. But can also be firm and rigged when need be. He has loved Rapunzel since he was twelve, and that love has never dissipated.

Dax! Such a softy. He is gentle and kind. He is exactly what Rapunzel needs when she needs to calm down, when her mind runs wild. He grounds her, as she does him.

Each one of the men have seperate connections with Rapunzel, none of them are alike. Wren and Rapunzel have their history. Quinn and Rapunzel have their immortality connection from when she saved him. Dax and Rapunzel have a sappy connection, the kind that makes you go awwwww and wipe your tears away.

At all costs Rapunzel will sit on the Throne of Rygard. But what exactly will it cost them to succeed? Another soul? Someones life? Separation? Nothing is off the table in order to take her rightful place.

I was graciously given an ARC for this book, in exchange for an honest review. thank you to the author for the opportunity 🤍
Twined carries on from Twisted, where Rapunzel is determined to face her villainous father in order to free her kingdom, and her men, from his tyrannous rule.
Personally, King John was a well-developed villain and I enjoyed the addition of his POV in the second book. The narcissism and hatred is a direct parallel from his daughters soft heart and kindness, and it is interesting to see how blood does not equal destiny.
“There is nothing of you in that woman. Nothing at all. She will sooner burn herself alive than give up one hair to the monster you have become.” Can we just give a round of applause for the icon that is Sybil? 🫡

I also loved learning more about Quinn, and his character development and learning more about his curse. I also loved that he has a happy ending, free from the soul bargain.

“Never trust your enemy, and never claim victory until your opponent is dead.”

The dynamic between Dax, Rapunzel, Quinn & Wren is wholesome and really well written. I have enjoyed watching their relationships go through their trials and happiness, as well as how they all fit as a cohesive unit and all support each other.

“The bastard that I am, I have no business rising above my station even to breathe the same air as this woman. But here I am, holding Rygard’s greatest treasure in my hands.”

For me, the book got a lot better from the 40% mark and onwards. When Rapunzel leaves her men and ventures to her fathers castle, it is refreshing to see Rapunzel continuing to be a strong, resilient character.

This was a lovely conclusion to the duology, and I look forward to see what Renee Rocco produces next 🤍

well... hmm. listen the first book was fun, Twisted. i feel like the initial set up was well done and i was curious to see where it went in the sequel.

i did go into this book with little to no commitment. however, i knew it wouldn't be my favorite from the first chapter. i don't tend to like pov's from villainous characters/antagonists. mainly because i like to see those types of characters from the perspective of others to keep it more ambiguous regarding their intentions/plans. john's chapters just felt completely pointless and they don't really add anything to the overall plot.

the smut? was not for me. i wasn't really fully vibing with the romance in the first book, due to the pacing and how flat the initial premise felt. but these smut scenes... respectfully, i had to skim. i've never read a smut scene where they talk so much during it. i just feel like there needs to be a balance of conversation. also, small pet peeve, but if i have to read another "god" "god isn't in the room" type of scene... no words.

anyway, i do appreciate this series for the mindless fun; however, i do think the execution could've been immensely better if there was more of a slower pace and time to develop things properly.

“Oh, no, Wren … Make no mistake about it. You may have freed me, but you didn’t create the monster. All you did was let her out of her tower."

I really enjoyed the conclusion to the duet that this book gave us! I found it to be more fast-paced, and it dove deep into the plot quickly.

Twined picked up exactly where Twisted ended, so there wasn't any questioning on what was happening, which I loved!

I found the character development in this second book, A LOT, better than the first. You really see all of the characters really grow as a unit together. And it was nice seeing Rapunzel grow into her true potential and get the revenge she craved.

The spice was also pretty good in the series, I didn't find it a huge focus, so I feel like there could have been a little more to the initial plot.
All in all, I did enjoy this twisted retelling of rapunzel!

Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Ugh I’m still all mushy from that cutesy fairytale HEA. SWOOOOON. I love the guys so much.

This book had a lot more action in it than the first book, and it was fun to see the guys (and Rapunzel!!) kick some a$$. Especially Quinn, but that’s probably because he’s my favorite. 👀 The stakes felt very high with Rapunzel and the guys staging a coup to overthrow her father (King John), like I was genuinely worried someone wasn’t going to make it out alive. Because this book focused more on the plot to take back Rygard, there wasn’t as much spice as the first book. Which was a little disappointing because it’s GOOD spice. 😩 Maybe I’m just needy lmao, but I do wish there was more romance/spice in this book.

For a Why Choose series, the author does a great job of differentiating the guys and giving them unique descriptions and personalities. I never got them confused, and they each had their own special moments with Rapunzel. And they’re all HOT (very important). 😍

With so much at stake in the conclusion of this epic tale we have our group preparing for what is to come. Rapunzel and her men are getting things and plans ready to take over King John’s kingdom. The guys are teaching Rapunzel how to become a fighter and learn to find her inner strength. From book one we have seen her grow so much and become this amazing woman who is willing to put herself on the line to save others and the ones she loves. I loved getting to know the guys more and seeing how they differ yet love Rapunzel so hard in each of their own way. The adventure and action are intense and had me on the edge of my seat that I didn’t want to put the book down. Erase what you think you know about the classic tale and embark into this world of characters that were created to draw you in, make you fall in love, and crave to be a part.

"Rapunzel never needed me. She needed no one. No even to rescue her from the tower. That she could have done herself. All I did was give her the push she needed to walk out on her own."

A delightful sequel.

I received an ARC of this book.

Twined is the continuation of a Rapunzel retelling that’s not your typical disney story. In this version Rapunzel is a fierce and loving heroine who has a harem of three men who all love her, and love to do NSFW things to her.

The first book left off with Rapunzel learning she was the princess and deciding she would have to step forward and claim her crown to stop her evil father. This book picks up with her training and follows her and her men as they journey to the castle and execute a coup. And it all ends with Happily Ever After.

I defined thought the author did a much better job with the second book. It seemed to flow a lot better. There were still some parts that were a bit choppy and sudden. I think having Rapunzel separated from the men for a bit also helped because it gave a reprieve from sex scenes and made it more enjoyable to read when they joined up again.

I look forward to watching this author develop and hopefully write more twisted fairy tales.

A must read!

It’s honestly another rapunzel retelling. This one is like Emily macintire’s books.. it’s so close to the Disney version but twisted I loved it! Her hair is magic but when mixed with herbs. She’s the lost princess but she has to kill her father. Her hair is cut but she dies if it does. A reverse harem of flints instead of just the one. The laterns they light at the end when she gets the kingdom back… it’s all so sweet. I think the only thing that stayed in my mind… I honestly thought the knight who helped them was going to double cross them. Rapunzel asks for three vials and you assume it goes to all three men, but when the knight gives them the vials he only hands them two… and it makes you think he hides one to possibly revive the king… but then it never gets brought up and he wasn’t double crossing them. I’m not sure if I misunderstood that writing or if the writing was just written wrong. Idk. Otherwise, the whole story is amazing with lots of spice!! 3/5 🌶️🌶️🌶️

This is book 2 of a duet, and you have to read book 1 first.

What a journey... 😱
This book definitely got all the action. Not that book 1 didn't have any, but this one has more. All the 🗡️ and 🩸🙈 Especally at the end 😱
And still so much love and everything else 🩷
It's not that I didn't expect most of it, but still there were things I was surprised about 😁

I already said I loved all three of the men, but Wren is my favorite. Not alone because I love grumpy heroes.
I love golden retrievers too, so of course I loved Dax 😁
And Quinn? He is different. He is soulless 😞 He isn't a bad person, on the contrary. He still has his heart, and that's VERY big. But he is also darker than the other two.

I don't know what to say more 🙈 I just loved the whole story, and I loved the end. It's so cute 🩷

I know there is another fairytale retelling on the go, and I'm looking forward to reading that one too 🤩 It's an Alice in Wonderland retelling.

ARC Review:
I signed up to be an ARC reader for Twined because I was absolutely in love with the first book, Twisted, and the follow up DID. NOT. DISAPPOINT.
Twined picks up 3 months from the ending events of Twisted and Renee Rocco did such an amazing job of recapping the first book without giving a massive info dump. She also expanded on all four characters individual personalities but using multi-POVs which I absolutely love in a romance.
While this IS a dark-fantasy-why-choose-romance, in my opinion it’s not overly heavy on the romance but much more plot heavy; book one established the plot, characters, and relationship and book two really moved it along at an amazingly quick and addicting pace without feeling rushed or like things were missing from the plot. And I also adored the nods to the Disney Tangled because I’m a Disney girl at heart.
I could NOT put this down and cannot wait to get my hands on a hard copy and to read more by Renee Rocco!

Before i start the review i want to thank Renee for giving me this amazing ARC, i had the ARC for the first book too, so im extremely happy you let me be apart of this amazing journey. And the ending of this amazing story was incredible

I did read the book in one go because it was impossible to put it down.
In the first book i said i had some moments where i had trouble understanding what was happening, well this was not the case in this book.
The first book had a nice amount of smut, well this one the smut was even better.

The book still has multiple POV that takes you though the journey of Rapunzel, Wren, Dex and Quinn as they go toe to toe against the king to restore their Kingdom. But victory and happiness don’t come without a price. And this book shows how big a sacrifice can be to secure the happiness of everyone.
It also teaches us that strength and courage is found within and not always show on the outside.

Nice conclusion to the duet, we got the happily ever after we would have wanted for the group as well as for my fave character, Quinn!

I found this one to be a lot more fast-paced than the last book due to the path the story took. This then captivated me, also making me want to find out what happened next.

We got an additional POV this time round, which was John (the king), which added to the story and helped me to understand why others perceived him in a certain way. This POV joined Rapunzel, Quinn, Wren and Dax. Which helped to fully immerse me in the story and connect with the characters.

There was spice within which was placed in the beginning and ending, which helped to focus more on the plot than having spice scenes interrupt it or be out of place.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the duet, and I'm sad that it's finished, I will defo reread this series in the future and i liked the way Renee writes so will seek out her other books. Also, once again, the map and playlist were placed within the front pages of the book. Which is much appreciated, I like to see the world I'm about to delve into as well as listen to the playlist to help create the atmosphere.

If you're looking for a spicey and dark retelling of rapunzel, then I would recommend you pick this up! But be mindful of the triggers.

9/23 broooo I want more. I’m so sad it’s over. I loved both of these books so much more than I thought. I loved everything about them and this one specifically I just enjoyed it. I did there was obviously the romance, but on top of that there was the action I guess if you wanna call it, you know her going into the castle and trying to stay alive and then that whole fight/end scene was crazy. I didn’t know what was gonna happen. I just I loved all of it. From start to finish in both books. I can’t tell you how much I loved it i honestly wish they were longer and I had more of them because I love the four of them so much, each one of them having a different personality, but they all blend together. I loved them three so much and then with Rapunzel on top of that, I can’t tell you how much I love the four of them and I didn’t think that trope was my thing but here we are yeah loved every bit of it
