The Nephilim: An Unholy Brood: Secrets and Enigmas of an Ancient Mediterranean Race

Rate this book
THE NEPHILIM, AN UNHOLY BROOD, continues the quest for the traditions of the enigmatic scions of the gods. In a dramatic reassessment of history, the author presents a detailed case for a huge influx of Mesopotamian influences into the Mediterranean during the early second millennium BC, explaining the origins of Heracles, Perseus and Kadmos amongst others. Among the newcomers was an ancient and mysterious race vividly described as the dragon-seed, who spread from Canaan all across the Mediterranean Basin and beyond. Their migrations, movements, religious cults, intriguing myths and secret doctrines are carefully investigated and followed.

New light is cast on the gigantic Anakim of biblical tradition, the mysterious Rephaim, the Sea Peoples of Egyptian renown and the elusive Kimmerians. The accursed race later on exerted a profound influence during the formative years of Rome and even imperial Rome, with the great and powerful Julian dynasty having claimed such descent. They also feature in the Qumran texts, having played a significant role in certain Gnostic circles as well as their disputes and differences with the early Christian church.

This work explores the secrets and enigmas of the Nephilim like none other had done before, following their traditions through history, spanning thousands of years. After taking a fresh look at the old Greek and other traditions, a totally new and altogether different picture emerges, a picture that will undoubtedly amaze and take the reader by surprise.

After I have read The Nephilim, Kings of an Epic Age (Book 1), I could not wait for the second book in this series. And I wasn't disappointed, on the contrary! Like the first book I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
This is groundbreaking work, written in such a way that both the layman and academic can enjoy it.
For the first time I found a book about a very loaded subject that makes sense. Well researched and offering a treasure trove of info and well founded arguments. Refraining from sensationalism and far fetched ideas pertaining to the subject, giving a much broader perspective than the normal Giants only narratives, the author one hundred percent succeeds not only to convince but getting the reader not wanting to put this excellent work down!
For anyone remotely interested not only in the subject but history in general, this book (as well as the first book) is an absolute must read. It comes highly recommended!
I can hardly wait for Book 3!

Following the brilliant first volume about The Nephilim, Dr. Willem McLoud continues the intrigue of world history and religion as phenomenon. This book regales the Egyptian, Greek, and Roman religions in a broader historical context, carefully threading archaeology and ancient worldviews into a beautiful tapestry of Brutian conspiracy!

Where other books will teach you ABOUT religion, Dr. McLoud's book will teach you to UNDERSTAND religion with a focus on the spread of traditions and cults. Dr. McLoud makes several relevant notes to contemporary culture and concepts that are still with us today, enriching both our knowledge of the past and of the present. A must-read for anyone interested in religious studies, history, and esoterica.

The author takes the reader on a journey through the ancient world, presenting alien landscapes of the past in a fresh, new way. His research is impeccable, meticulous and well argued, supported by numerous interesting footnotes. Willem McLoud manages to make history fun again. His topic, the Nefelim, is not the usual populist science-fiction. This is, despite its readability, a serious academic work on the subject. The book is well worth the read and I recommend it to all who are looking for a more cerebral treatise on the subject of the Nefelim...

A book by a scholarly well traveled author, the second in the trilogy, is fascinating, well written, and highly researched. The over lappings of pre-history, its legends, myths, and may be more so truths are substantiated by geography, writings, relics, and imagery. I will be adding this book to my collection of hardbacks in the near future to review over and again.
