Elle Preston is a busy mom to a gaggle of small humans and furbabies. When she is not cleaning up messes, she can be found with her face in her ipad writing young adult paranormal romance novels (which some speculate she does as an escape from all the messes).

Elle's debut novel, Illusions, is the first in the Ravens of Darkness series. Book Two, Reflections was released November 2021. She is currently working on Book Three, Deceptions, set for release in Spring 2023.

Elle sets her stories on the shores of Lake Michigan where she loves to walk the beach and hike in the Indiana Dunes with her husband and kids.

I was so so excited to continue this journey with these characters. I was so invested from books 1&2. I binged them craving the action and excitement like elan was craved. But this book just wasn't it. Sure people died. Accidents happened. An almost fight happens. But overall I feel like nothing happened in this book. I feel like everything of this book (had it kept pace with the other books) could have happened in a handful of chapters and not an entire book. I'm pretty disappointed but will continue with the series because I am invested in Evie and Alex.

This third installment of the ROD series has left me breathless! Deceptions is definitely fitting for the title of this tale. Who can you trust? Who is on your side? Are allegiances to be trusted? All very good questions to be asked as it unfolds to reveal a part of a mystery, a prophecy to be fulfilled. Page turner, unputdownable, addictive as the Elan we read about Elle has written a series that will leave you captivated.

It was a pleasure getting to read the third part of the ravens of darkness series. It worked well overall with what I was looking for, the characters were what I was hoping for. Elle Preston has a great writing style and the characters were what I was looking for based on the series. I can't wait for more.
