Wait for You is the definition of a classic New Adult romance—angsty, emotional, and packed with tension. Avery and Cam’s story is an easy, bingeable read with a solid mix of slow-burn romance, past trauma, and just the right amount of steam. Cam is definitely the highlight here—he’s patient, charming, and literally bakes cookies (instant book boyfriend status). The romance develops naturally, and the banter between them is fun, giving the book a lightness that balances out the heavier themes.
That said, the plot is pretty predictable if you’ve read any other NA romances. Avery’s hesitance to open up is understandable, but the constant back-and-forth does get frustrating after a while. And while the story tries to tackle serious trauma, it sometimes feels a little surface-level. The writing is solid, and the chemistry is there, but it doesn’t quite do anything to stand out from similar books in the genre. If you love a good emotional romance with a swoony love interest, you’ll probably enjoy this one—just don’t expect anything super unique!
I loved the banter between the MMC & MFC. cam and Avery were so cute. Dealing with the topic of SA is never easy. I loved Cam, he was thoughtful and sexy as all hell with Avery. Avery sometimes got on my nerves but that is to be expected with a naive character who hasn't faced her trauma. So I was able to be patient with her. It was a good book to read in between my heavier series. I cried and laughed and that's always a great mix.
I personally loved this book! It was fast paced which was good for me because i was in a reading slump. I truly think if you do not like reading than this is the perfect book for you to start loving it.
cam is what i picture as like a Drew Starkey. HE IS THE BOOK BOYFRIEND LIKE OMGGG HE IS JUST LINE HE KNOWS AND SWEETHEART LIKE I AM DONE HE IS SO WHIPPED FOR HER I LOVE IT I RATE IT A 5/5
