Robert Spicer is a professional accountant who, after taking early retirement at the age of fifty, trained to become an Anglican Priest. This is the story of the journey which led him to accept the Christian faith after a series of unlikely coincidences; leading to lay hospital chaplaincy, ordination training, curacy at St Marys Datchet followed by becoming a team vicar at Beaconsfield, and finally retirement to Datchet twelve years ago. The book tells of his struggle to come to a belief in the resurrection of Jesus, but then, more importantly, to reconcile a belief in the all-powerful, loving God of the Christian faith with the horrors of the world we live in. It is also the story of a Christian Ministry lived out in three committed, warm and loving Christian communities together with the sometimes humourous stories of many of the people he encountered along the way.
