Forced into a marriage… …neither wanted. Passion is their only way out. Ravenna As a child, I dreamed of finding a husband and falling in love. Someone to give my heart to. Someone of my choosing. That will never happen.
Now, I approach the altar to marry a man I’d never met. Six foot four of muscle, he’s imposing standing there. Dangerous. Waiting to take me as his own. My legs tremble at the thought of what he might do to me on our wedding night. Will he be as dominant in the bedroom as he looks? Can I love this man? Will he love me? Wolfe I’m screwed. An arranged marriage to a mafia princess. This was not part of my plan. But this is something I can’t refuse. My hands drip blood and my heart is scarred. I know I can’t give this woman my love. I lost that emotion with the things I’ve done in the underworld. Love makes you weak and gets you killed. Why was I chosen? I don’t know. But I do know one thing. I’m dead meat if I mess this marriage up… Book 2 of 6 in the Married to the Wolfe series.
Ravenna and Wolfe are invited to one of her mother Gia’s social gatherings. The are nervous about going out for the first time in public as a married couple. Wolfe is still unsure why they need Wilmar living with them as Ravenna’s bodyguard and he hopes to talk to Ravenna’s father Donte about it.
Wilmar goes with them to the social. Ravenna’s only other real friend is Venetia Barone. Ravenna’s mother Gia tells her Venetia is out of town on business.
Will Ravenna and Wolfe continue to get closer? What is Donte and Gia’s real plan for the couple?
I can’t wait to see what is in store for the couple.
I love this second book of the series. It didn't take me long to finish it.
I loved the vulnerability shown in Wolfe's character in this book. It's not something I'm used to seeing in the Mafia genre, and I'm completely here for it. I love seeing the softer side of alphas. It makes me just want to hug them.
Wolfe's interactions with Wilmar brought a smile on my face. And so did his conversation with his new in-laws. Damn, his mother-in-law is on tough cookie. I love strong women characters. I also thoroughly enjoyed his reaction to her advice to him about his marriage and what that turned into. Yet again, the chemistry between Wolfe and Ravenna was palpable.
I can't wait to see Wolfe and Ravenna getting to know more about each other in the upcoming books. I think he's going to find out she was more involved in the family business than he thought and is a perfect partner, not only in marriage, but in business too.
This is the second book in the series and must be read in order. Wolfe and Ravenna's journey continues. Wolfe is showing some jealousy. Can't wait for book three. And am voluntarily leaving my review.
