Doc battles to save Killian's life after Cheela mortally wounds him in an apparently deliberate shooting. But Killian is lost in his own mind, reliving past traumas, which may end up killing him despite Doc's best efforts.

As the events leading up to the shooting are examined, it appears that Killian was destined to meet a bullet that day, whether by Cheela's hand or not. And mysteries abound in what was previously thought an open and shut case; Why did Cheela do it? What shadowy forces may be at work here? Who is this mysterious gunslinger and why is he so interested in making Doc and Jasper fail to save Killian? It's a race against the clock to find the answers and bring Killian back from the brink.
