What I love about Jessa Kane's books is that they're unreal.
Alpha male character is toxic and too much in every way.
This can be so funny!!!
In this one, Kane couldn't make healthy an unhealthy relationship between Bobby and Mandy.
It still made me laugh, but wasn't enough for me to fully enjoy this story like I usually can with Kane's book.

It’s overboard, it’s me acting like a caveman, so I don’t think she’s going to do it.
But when she makes a mewling sound and winds her thighs around my hips, something violently male rises inside of me and breathes fire.

Mandy’s (19ish) attending college and is hanging out with new friends she just made at a bar. The girls are hung up on this FIREMAN (🥵) who doesn’t give anyone the time of day. Of course, when she sees him, she’s transfixed. When she walks by him, she falls (🤦🏻‍♀️) and he catches her.

Then it’s game on 💁🏻‍♀️. Because he’s in LUUUUURVE 😬

Bobby (31) can’t believe his eyes 👀. As soon as he sees Mandy, he knows he found the one. He’s been such a busy fireman that he hasn’t given his love life the time of day, until now 😉. The only problem is he needs Mandy to be just as consumed as he is.

I really enjoyed this one. Compared to the last ones, it’s my favorite of JK’s newer releases.

As usual, I wish it was longer 😐. This one has a bunch of time jumps. Suddenly, she has an engagement ring, yet we didn’t see a proposal 😑. Also, she’s been on bc yet we never knew until she mentions it later in the book 🤔 and in the two weeks where there’s a time jump, they’ve been acting like bunnies 👀. Sigh, too bad we didn’t see it all 😏.

Buuuuut, it has lots of the stuff I love from JK (and can expect): the duuuurtay talk, the 🔥, the back door 🔥, OTT JPness (and this one got violent), annnnnd, my favorite…

CNC!!! 😱. It gets extra points for this!!!! It’s the first time I read a JK book with it!!! It was abso freaking lutely SCRUMPTIOUS 🥵💦🔥

-almost attempted SA. The club incident ^^ and then there’s another set of guys that try to approach her when she goes back to the hotel. The H is there though 💅

I mean it still had that sprinkle of obsession and shit tone of psychotic behavior- with a bit of exhibitionism and praising in the mix (and of course, the usual daddy kink 😭). One of my favorite moments of his was when he grabbed her hair in the bar where they met and just randomly started chanting 'mine', whilst making eye contact with every guy there, slamming his fist on the table- it was really giving sophisticated and self-assured.

I mean you do have to note that he wasn't really that crazy 💀. I mean yeah he was obsessive, but aside from that he was just a normal firefighter who likes baseball (that's literally all we know about him). If I'm being honest I kind of wanted him to be crazier 😭. He also had a thing for recording her. (And ok he also did murder a couple of people BUT IT WAS GLOSSED OVER 💀- ok I'll stop).

He was also weirdly motivational 🧍‍♀️:

“You’re a bike, Mandy, and those people are just training wheels. Eventually you have to take them off to go faster.”

I need JK to start writing motivational quotes asap.

And please his Boston accent to top it all off 💀💀. JK did not let you forget this detail ONCE 😭.

Mandy was just out here trying to live her life. She was the typical smart, oblivious h just barely making her way through life 😭. She was also in college working towards becoming a psychiatrist- WHICH WAS SO FUNNY, because she didn't take any of her own advice and threw all her notes down the drain when falling in love with Boston Bobby.

I didn't love her because she was just trying to be too normal and sane at times 💀. I know, how scandalous of her to actually acknowledge their messed dynamic and to try and do something about it 😱.

It didn't really fit with the flow of everything for me and was just too normal 😭. Aside from that she was ok 💀 I don't really have that much to say for her. Glad she figured herself out tho 💀💅.

Jessa kane has a formula of the same old ott (over the top) JP (jiggly penis) dudes and quiet submissive females and then mashes them up, making sure the girl calls the dude daddy once or twice and making sure the dude tries anal at least once to conquer ALL THE HOLES.

It was ho hum. The two girls that she studies psych with are meanie heads and want him super BAD. Super duper. He takes her away to his house, buys her the ring, meet and greets the rents and makes her forget the time and day with his entrancing dick. She literally loses track of the days within the two weeks that they're just fucking away. Okur. she leaves and tells him he's too much! Too muchie much!!!!! She's done! But then he hynotizes her again with a date and his dick and she's fell for ittttt!!!!!!! haha. What a sucker. That dick gets you every time girl! When you gon learn?! Smh. Anyhoo. And him trying to be manipulaticw is just him using his dick to dickmatize her 🤷🤷

The two meanie girls take her to vegas? Atlantic city? To a club. Someone tries to drug her. He's following because duh, hes off jiggly penis and off a the two guys drugging her drink. He gets away with murder tho. Its cool. No one cares about those two dudes. And she becomes a psychologist psychiatric Dr whatever.

This book was smut mixed in with a lot of red flags. All of which came from our MMC Bobby. He was possessive, jealous, delusional, unhinged and a bit of a psycho? He is a fireman, so he gets some points there and we also know he is not a manwhore so another point for him. He has never fallen like this for a girl, so we know he isn't out there obsessed with others just our main girl Mandy.

Mandy is a virgin and has never even had her first kiss but of course Bobby wants everything she has to offer right from the start and Mandy gives it and lets him FILM it all. Thankfully the thought I had that the video would leak was not what happened so thank fuck.

Insta-love novella. Things get intense REALLYFAST between them. Everything moved at warp speed. 2 weeks later they are engaged, she has met his family and basically moved in with him. He refuses her to let her out of his sight, even buys her a whole new wardrobe just so she doesn’t have to go back to her dorm and get her things.

If you decide to read this book, just remember to care more about the spice then the plot as all we really get from this is that Bobby is a massive manipulator and will go to any length to keep Mandy and Mandy is just as obsessed with him as he is with her.

She at least acknowledged that it was unhealthy between them and was smart enough to walk away to make sure he knew that though it did not last long, and he was back to trying to AGAIN manipulate her to stay with him and she AGAIN calls him out for it.

Also, she goes to Atlantic City with ''friends'' (cause those two girls were just horrible) and Mandy gets attacked by some guys after they tried to drug her drink but Bobby (who was supposed to be far away in Boston) couldn't help but follow her secretly and KILLS THE GUYS who tried to hurt her, unbeknownst to Mandy and he never got caught? Like we just IGNORE THAT? haha

We get to see them 5 years later and they are just as obsessed with each other as they were from the beginning but at least they are less toxic about it? I hope lol

My reason for 3 stars? The smut was amazing and I just closed my eyes to the walking talking red flag president that is Bobby haha

🌸Maybe do it in chapter 6 or 7? After MCs have had a certain on-page time and conversations together would have been better.


🌸The good thing was, Mandy ACKNOWLEDGED the fact that he was toxic for her.

the way that toxicity is handled is..... eghh.

Despite the craziness of their mutual obsession, I want them to work out how to do life and be blissfully happy together. I thought it was a bit of a missed opportunity that we didn't get to see Bobby introducing Mandy to his family, seeing as this was his plan on Night 1:

“You’re going to stay in my bed until tomorrow night. Then I’m going to bring you to Quincy, introduce you to my family. My sister, parents. Jessa Kane returns with another steamy and age-gap romance featuring a morally gray and unhinged hero who will do anything to make himself the center of his woman's world and vice versa. Bobby is completely obsessed with Mandy since the beginning and their relationship can be considered toxic and even unhealthy in many ways. However, I was strangely invested in their relationship and felt pain for Bobby when Mandy suddenly cut him out of her life without talking to him. Then again, I also can't blame her for doing that because he intentionally isolated her from her so-called "friends," who turned out to be horrible people, and made her co-dependent on him. Thankfully she realized this and tried to break it off but by then, it was already too late. Bobby was never going to let Mandy go.

"I want you to overwhelm me. I want to get lost in you… I want you to lose yourself in me, too."

As always, Jessa Kane excels when it comes to her over-the-top and dirty talking hero who will go through any lengths to keep his heroine. His possessive, jealous, and stalker-like behavior enables Mandy's own behavior as she begins to realize how much he has changed her. It was quite interesting seeing their relationship go through so many ups and downs. The spice and love scenes were incredibly hot, forbidden, and dirty. Mandy was innocent before she met Bobby but her fateful meeting with him allowed her to explore her own sexuality and inhibitions. The fact that she liked to be praised says a lot, really. Bobby had no qualms giving that to her. In the end, I really enjoyed this quick and smutty romance between two unlikely individuals who become equally obsessed with each other.

Let me explain that it was a total of 20 secs after she fell into his lap and then she wanted nothing more to get it nice and dirty up against a wall. Don’t worry y’all the smexy time that follows is so hot they even had to make a movie Kim and Ray J style. Just ready for some peep action to be spun back on a later date and ya know he does !?!
