Fyre & Ashes #3
Catching Fyre
I unleashed a monster, and he won't stop until he gets what he wants. Me.
Tall, dark, and psychotic Professor Gideon Fyre did the impossible, making me whole again after I'd been so brutally broken. But just as a happy life, a safe life, beckons on the horizon, Fyre's nemesis takes me captive. He forces me to become a plaything for him and his depraved friends and it's all because of Fyre, the possessive stalker who stole my sanity, then my heart. I know Fyre loves me. I know he'll try to save me. But he doesn't know that it's a trap. I'm the bait. Fyre is the catch. I only hope the monster I unleashed in Fyre can end this maniac before we lose each other...forever.
From USA Today bestselling author comes the harrowing conclusion to the dark stalker romance series, Fyre & Ashes.

This series may have started out dark, but this final part is pitch black!
The build up to Catching Fyre was steady, you could almost taste what lay ahead.
And when your fears come true, when that past returns with a vengeance, there’s nothing left, but brace and hope for the best.
Because the bad guys can’t win….not again!
And this one’s the worst of them all, this one destroyed Gideon’s family.
Knowing Charlotte’s been taken by this evil, depraved bastard chills Gideon to the bone.
He knows he needs to find her before it’s too late…and pray that she manages to hold on until he does.
My relief he díd in fact find her in time was shortlived, though….
Because Red wasn’t going to give up thát easily.
No,he had plans for these two…..and it involved rape and torture, ending with them being killed.
Gideon was going to have to use every trick he knew to get them out before that happened!
As i said, this was the darkest part of the three books, and there are trigger warnings for a very good reason.
If you enjoy your stories dark,i hope you enjoy this trilogy as much as i did.
Otherwise i advise you to stay clear…..

Boy, did Under Fyre end on a low note, so I am eager to begin Catching Fyre. Definitely an appropriate name, because someone’s going to burn. We learn how and why Fyre becomes a serial killer and there is so much to his story. I begin to look at him like another ‘villain’ I love so much, Mr Mayhem, from Sue Coletta’s Mayhem series. Things are not always as they appear to be and the saying: Don’t judge a book by it’s cover applies to Fyre. I have grown to love him and Charlotte and I am shocked at where we end up. Well done, Logan.

Catching Fyre definitely caught me in its dark and twisty psychological web. A story about overcoming and surviving the deepest and most sadistic rot of human nature, you’ll be glued to this book’s pages with a mixture of horror and interest. Catching Fyre is full of triggers but if you can handle the grit and violence, the love story between two souls that will forever be connected on more than just a physical level is quite beautiful.
There are two prior books to this series and this concludes Charlotte and Frye’s journey. And boy was it a journey. Their inevitable final battle with the ghosts of their pasts comes to a head and for a moment you don’t know how it will end.
Charlotte was a fighter even when she didn’t feel like one and you’ll hate everything she’s been through. I loved seeing both her fragility and her strength.
Frye was definitely a psycho but he was Charlotte’s psycho and had trauma of his own. His possessiveness and love toward his girl was swoon worthy and I really fell for the man that nestled himself into Charlotte’s broken cracks.
Catching Fyre was dark…I won’t sugar coat it. But I have to give praise to an author that will stand on the precipice of that “o sh*t” boundary and dive headfirst. You can tell that a lot of thought went into making part of this a story about how the choices we make and the experiences we survive shape who we are and who we come to love.
This story kept me on my toes and was action packed with a heavy dose of kinky intimacy. I loved that Fox was able to successfully write such broken characters that also found a way to heal together. Despite the rather gruesome ending, it was an ending I applauded. If you haven’t read this series and love dark romance, I highly suggest giving it a try!

”Then we’ll end him, Charlotte. Together.”

Catching Fyre is the final installment in this trilogy, and it maintains the more evenly paced writing of part two (rather than the too fast, uneven feeling of the first part). It also fully realized the change from a sort-of instalove/stalker romance of part one to the more romantic suspense/horror story that it became. As someone who felt the romantic feelings between the main couple were not really earned by the development, and with the emphasis more on the suspense/villains the longer the story went on, I'm left at the end really feeling this is more like a contemporary suspense than the dark stalker romance it is billed as. I don't have an issue with that kind of story-I often read and watch those kinds of stories and enjoy them-I'm just mentioning this in case that is not something you are into.
Similar to part two, more time is spent on each idea in this final section than in part one, but it is still pretty basic, so it skirts the line between not being enough information/development/detail and being just enough to enjoy the quick read without being bogged down by too much. I was more in the mood for a quick read this time around, so it worked for me (except for the romance/relationship development, which I still think is lacking overall).
As I've said in my reviews for part one and two, I recommend reading the boxset, since each part is too short to warrant separate purchases. And check warnings, it has several dark elements including non-con and graphic violence.
This trilogy was my first book by this author, and I enjoyed the voice/writing enough that I am definitely going to try some others by them to see if they work better for me, as this story was kind of middle of the road for me, landing slightly on the positive side mostly because of my mood in looking for an easy, quick read.

Wow! Gideon & Charlotte’s Story Is A Dark & Wildly Twisted Ride. The Couple Had Just Begun To Form A Real Relationship Of Sorts When The Unthinkable Happens Again As The Series Comes To A Nail-Biting Conclusion. It Descends To Its Darkest Installment Yet – It Is Not For The Faint Of Heart!
Trigger warning for sensitive readers: this book contains violence as well as issues of non-consent and abduction throughout. It is incredibly dark.
This story is book three of the Fyre & Ashes series. Playing with Fyre, book one, first appeared in a slightly shorter version in the Stalkers Anthology. Under Fyre is the continuation of Gideon and Charlotte’s story and is book two of the series. The series is complete with this book - Catching Fyre, book three.
FROM BOOK 1:
Charlotte Ash is taking an art therapy class at her local community college. Like the other students in her class, she is there for a reason. What happened to her ten months ago still plagues her, but the heavy meds do a little to numb the pain from her memories of Peter Monroe. He stole so much but paid so little for what he had done. Charlotte has little to look forward to, but she has had a crush on her professor all semester. He looks to be about ten years or so older than her, but she cannot help but dream about him.
Professor Gideon Fyre doesn’t look like the average college professor. His commanding presence inspires respect from faculty and students alike. With a degree in psychology as well as a degree in art, he has been teaching art therapy for three years, helping his students to heal through art. He had tried counseling patients, but that ended spectacularly with Red Friday, when his wife and daughter were hideously killed in a home invasion. He left his life behind and began anew teaching. He knew he had become unhinged, and healing through art was a safe choice. Charlotte Ash is different than any other student before. Her darkness draws him, and she has become an obsession. He has to show Charlotte just how much she means to him.
Fyre has plans for Charlotte, but they will test her. He wants her healed and whole. Exposure therapy is his preferred method for nursing his patients back to health. Gideon’s methods with Charlotte aren’t entirely orthodox, though. Her case presents a special challenge since she cannot recall most of what happened to her during her captivity. She may just hate him by the time she has been healed.
To earn her trust, Gideon kills the man who abducted her. A gift. As happy as she might be to know that Peter Monroe won’t hurt her again, Charlotte struggles to reconcile this version of Gideon with the well-liked Professor Fyre and his magnetic personality.
FROM BOOK 2:
Gideon’s plans end up with a snag, changing the course he had laid out for Charlotte’s therapy. He has another passion, one that has him spending lots of time online. He likes tracking down predators and serving them his own version of justice. The White Lily chat room is full of men like Peter Monroe and Red Hutchins, and gaining access to full membership would open a lot of doors for him. He has recently been chatting online with Bent92, and things may be moving quicker than he had anticipated. Gideon must move up Charlotte’s timeline accordingly. For that, they go to his mountain cabin in Waspwood Forest. His obsessive-compulsive behavior often has him acting on impulse despite his carefully laid plans, and soon he discovers he is in trouble.
IN THIS BOOK:
As the story opens, Gideon awakens after the accident to discover that Charlotte is missing. They had been racing to escape Red, the same man who killed Gideon’s wife and child years ago, and he knows intuitively that Charlotte has been abducted by Red. He desperately races to find her.
Charlotte awakens to her worst nightmare. She is back in the same room in which Peter Monroe held her captive for a week before her escape. She did it once before, and she is determined to outwit her abductor again. But Red Hutchins is more experienced than Peter had been, and soon she finds herself begging for an escape of a different kind.
Gideon and Charlotte had just begun to form a twisted but real relationship when the unthinkable happens again as this series comes to a nail-biting conclusion. The series descends to its darkest installment yet with this book. It is not for the faint of heart. In the end, however, the couple earns their very own twisted version of a happy ending.
Two issues merit mention. First, there continue to be some inconsistencies from book to book in the series. Timelines and situations become a little confusing, but overall, if you just overlook the fine details, the story works. If you can stomach it, the book pulls you into this dark and twisted world. Second, there seems to be a hint as to Red Hutchins’ motive for targeting Gideon’s family. Gideon’s co-worker appears to be instrumental in Red’s ability to pull off the gruesome murders, yet that is never addressed. I kept waiting for it, and there was ample opportunity to tie this into the story, yet nothing.
There is so much pain in this series; both Gideon and Charlotte are broken beyond repair. They have both seen too much evil. The story of Red Friday, finally, is laid out completely here, and we learn a little about Gideon’s life in New York.
Gideon and Charlotte’s story is a dark and wildly twisted ride. As the series concludes, there is more suffering, but eventually, their relationship helps to heal their wounds. Their story is nicely-written. It is plot-driven. The characters are complex. This story is written in first person. The POV alternates between Gideon and Charlotte, I rate this story four stars.
I received an advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

How did we come from stalking to this??? What the fuck??
And I want to take back my book 2 review, where I said that Fyre was similar to Patrick Jane (from The Mentalist). OH, this dude was giving me Zade Meadows vibes all right.
Overall, "the plot" of this book was very much like "Hunting Adeline".

The end of fyre and Charlottes story! So sad to see the end of this couple but the end is incredible! There is so much action packed into this book! It’s sad, dark and twisted and I loved every second of it! I loved their HEA and their revenge!

Yeah. Still dark.
Nothing really changed in this book. She's still getting raped multiple times. I think the only good thing to come out of this book was knowing Red is getting what is owed to him.
Finally.
I finished it, but it wasn't my favorite. I thought the MMC would actually try to heal her with his own brand of crazy, not just use the techniques of her rapist and do the same to her to 'heal' her.
Yeah, not my cup of tea.

- FMC: Charlotte
- MMC: Fyre
- POVs Included: Dual POVs (Charlotte, Fyre)
-----------------------------------
-----------------------------------
SUMMARY: (SPOILER WARNING)
Charlotte has been taken by the man who ruined Fyre's life -- Red. And we learn that Red is much more connected to Peter Monroe (Charlotte's first attacker), and many other predators, than they first realized.
As Fyre works to rescue her, the layers of a deep ring of sick perverts is exposed and Fyre and Charlotte make it their mission to take them all down.
-----------------------------------
-----------------------------------
REVIEW:
A decent ending to the trilogy. This entire story was interesting and definitely had promise. But it was missing something that's hard to put my finger on exactly. But I'll try...
It's certainly a sick and twisted world that we are shown. This book is probably the darkest of the three books because of seeing a lot of abuse firsthand (lots of it directly to Charlotte). But I liked the plot of Fyre (and later Charlotte) being the vigilantes who take them all down.
But the biggest issue for me was the lack of believability of Fyre and Charlotte actually taking these guys down. I'm actually surprised that Fyre has managed to kill seventeen predators already before this book because he's a bit of a bumbling idiot when it comes down to it. He makes a lot of bad choices while "rescuing" Charlotte and he gets caught on more than one occasion. I'm genuinely surprised him and Charlotte actually made it out alive in the end.
So I just had a hard time believing these two could even be capable of pulling this whole takedown off.
Charlotte doesn't grow a backbone until after she's rescued. She doesn't actually lift a hand to try to save herself at any point in the story. At all. She either gives in, gives up, or waits for Fyre to save her. At several points she tries to kill herself. So I can't say I really liked her that much honestly.
The entire story was really underdeveloped. I would've liked to know how Red and Peter knew each other. Obviously they were part of this secret pervert club, but it seemed more than that. I almost expected them to be brothers or something.
The ending was satisfying in some ways and not in others. I'm glad they defeated Red. But I wanted to see them go back and like blow up Pervert Palace or something. I was missing that big final showdown scene where they take down the whole organization in one dramatic swoop.
Overall it was an okay series. Dark in places, hard to read in places (there is on page rape of the FMC by multiple men who aren't the MMC). Interesting storyline, but also a little lackluster when it comes down to it. Middle of the road for me.

I am having problems trying to write this review because I don't even know where to start or what to say. My mind is all over the place and I am bursting with excitement from the reader high I am floating on at the moment. Maybe I need to wait two years to write this review as I did for Playing With Fyre and Under Fyre. Back when I first read these books I just didn't write reviews and I can't even tell you why. In anticipation for the release of Catching Fyre I went back and reread both of these books and left a review. Those reviews were easy to formulate and my little fingers could barely keep up with my mind. I guess it could be the fact I had two years to process what I had read and now I am just too giddy from the conclusion of Gideon and Charlette's story. I know one thing for sure...I want to go read this book again and I mean like right after I finish this review.
Two long years I have waited for Catching Fyre and Logan Fox made it worth the wait. Logan blows me away with her creative genius mind and her ability to keep the reader anticipating what will happen next. While there may be some predictable moments there are plenty that are not. The way Gideon and Charlotte became a part of each others twisted minds was interesting to watch. There has never been an author like Logan to captivate my mind this much or for this long making me obsessed with a couple that even after two years I could not forget about them. The fact that Logan was able to do this speaks volumes to her mastery in her craft. I have a few authors that are my most favorite and Logan has become one of those authors. Not only that, I have read so many books making it impossible to keep count of them, but I can tell you Fyre & Ashes Series is my absolute favorite and these two are my favorite couple. My biggest pet peeve I have in relation to an author is when there is no real closure to the book. I love that Logan not only provided an epilogue, but she also provided a bonus epilogue for Gideon and Charlotte's story making this the perfect conclusion. She did not leave anything unanswered.
I could not even in my wildest imagination guess how Logan was going to write Catching Fyre. But, it sure wasn't the final master piece she delivered - it truly was more than I anticipated. Yes, it was beyond my expectations and as a fan I love her for that. This book had me all over the place with my emotions from fear to anxiety to joy to excitement and back to fear and finally there was peace and an overabounding amount of love. This was not only a dark romance novel, but it truly was a thriller that packed a lot of action - there was not a dull moment to be had in this story.
This book starts off with us seeing Gideon relive the day that ruined his life and made him who he is now. It truly was heartbreaking to witness and made me feel an extreme amount of empathy towards him. Fast forward to the present and he is now just waking up after the accident they were in only to find Charlotte is gone. At first he thinks she just walked off, but Arrow shows him signs that this was not the case. Now Gideon is losing his mind because his nemesis Red has got her in his clutches. He is racing against the clock to find Charlotte in time before she ends up just like his wife and daughter.....another victim of Red's. Poor Charlotte wakes up to find herself thrust back into the nightmare that haunts her...the toy box. Charlotte is filled with an extreme amount of fear and must bid her time and play the game so she has a chance of escaping. Deep down inside though Charlotte knows her only real chance of surviving is for Gideon to find her. What ensues is the craziest ride that neither Gideon or Charlotte could have ever dreamed of even if they tried.
These are the only books I have read by Logan, but that is about to change. I am very interested to see how her other books compare to this series. Fyre and Ashes Series is one I highly recommend to those readers who like very dark psychological romance thrillers -this one has it all and then some.....you won't be disappointed.

Wow! What a conclusion to this series! Gideon is such a strong character! That is why I love this particular series. This book, Charlotte suffers. It's not like Charlotte hasn't been through enough already, but it gets so much worse 😢! Gideon's arch nemesis, Red, we find out how they knew each other. We also find out the whole story about Gideon's family 😭! It is rough! We find out more about Charlotte's first time in captivity as well. In this book, a different, more sensitive side of Gideon emerges. Don't get me wrong, the old Gideon is still there. I think it's what Charlotte needed at the time, the softer side. The part I loved the most, the extended epilogue. It shows what Charlotte and Gideon were doing 5 years later. The only thing I wished could've been different, for Charlotte to have fought back sooner. I can also understand because of circumstances and trauma why she didn't. I can still wish. This series will always be one of my favorites. It's hard to think from the beginning of a art therapy class, where Gideon was a bit crazy, to where they ended up.
I received a ARC of this book and voluntarily left this review.

OMG!!! I'm still feeling from this action packed dark twisted romance so full of suspense, intrigue, danger, violence, revenge, steam, shock, terror, angst, twists that has you glued to the last page.
Gideon wakes from his accident he & Charlotte were in but she no where to be seen he worries she just walked off but Arrow tells him that's not the what happened.
Gideon thinks Red has Charlotte he trys up find her before she ends up like his daughter & wife they were victims of Red.
Charlotte kidnapped again wakes to find herself in locked in the toy box again her worst nightmare full of fear, has to play the game in hope to escape this psycho, but she needs Gideon to find her if she wants to survive.
I definitely recommend to get this riviting brutal intense dark twisted horrific story to see if Gideon saves Charlotte in time, it's the craziest ride you'll be taken on & won't forget anyone soon what happens it's a must read for sure.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review.
This is the third and final book in the Fyre and Ashes Series. You have to read Playing With Fyre and Under Fyre first because this book picks back up where Under Fyre leaves off. This is a dark and twisted read and you will want to heed the warnings before diving into it. This is a book about survival not matter what you are up against. Charlotte and Professor Fyre have had quit the journey up to this point but his past is coming back to haunt him and he didn't really see it coming until it was to late. This book is fast paced and there is not a thing I can tell you about this story that won't give something away. I really spent a lot of time on the edge of my seat. My heart broke for Fyre and Charlotte and I almost had heart failure over Arrow. How I love that dog!!! I wish she was real and I had her for myself. If your looking for dark and twisted then this entire series is for you.

DARK is an UNDERSTATEMENT
A web of dark and attention grabbing words that at times were hard to digest but defiantly made this story come to life with wide open eyes that didn't want to see the pictures that flashed in my mind from the words that became more twisted and shocking making me cold and on edge needing to step away to compose myself but rushing back for more of this brilliantly written psychological thriller. It's Dark, Twisted with triggers and gets stuck in your head. I'm relieved that Charlotte and Gordon's story has finally come to an end because I don't recall books one and two being as dark as this one is. So yay I'm glad they got their HEA even if it is DARK before they got Mercy giving them the light they both are well deserved of.

I’ve been patiently waiting for this last installment of the Fyre and Ashes series and it was a doozy. I had to take breaks to catch my breathe because this book was intense. It starts where book two ended right after the car crash with Red having kidnapped Charlotte while Gideon and Arrow scramble to find her. This book was much darker then the previous two. I was worried it wouldn’t end how I wanted it with the amount of obstacles Charlotte and Gideon found themselves in. My worries were unfounded as the ending was exactly how it should be with an epilogue that gave a brief glimpse into the future. This series was my introduction to Logan Fox’s writing and I will now be a forever fan. It has been hinted that more is to come from the Fyre and Ashes universe, I can’t wait.

When I started reading the first book I couldn't have seen where it was going to end.
When I started reading the second book I couldn't have seen where it was going to end.
When I started reading the third book I couldn't have seen where it was going to end.
But OMG OMG OMG! My mind has melted once again from finishing not just a book, but the series too.
This book (really all three in the series) will bring out all sorts of emotions as you read through. I have loved it as I do all of Logan's books.

This is the conclusion of Charlotte and Frye’s addicting story and let me tell you this book is dark! It is full of twists and turns, woven into this action-packed, and spicy romance. I was so eager to read this concluding book and it did not disappoint, I didn't want to put my down.
These books must be read in order, download all three if you've missed the first two you'll fall in love with Fyre I'm sure he's so sexy, even his possessiveness made me swoon. I definitely recommended this series!

The end in Fyre and Charlotte’s story is one that will leave you stunned and shake you to your core while cheering them on as they seek their revenge. After the first two books you think things can’t possible become any more twisted that we have already seen but prepare yourself for some of te darkest humanity has to offer. Charlotte finds her fire, no pun intended, but she realizes if she wants to survive she is going to have to fight, but will it be alone or with Fyre by her side? Dark and twisted you can’t help but love Fyre when he would do anything to get his woman back.

Wow, just wow. I hate to see Gideon and Charolette's story come to an end, but boy was it an extraordinary end. In each of these three books the stakes have risen, the story has become more violent, the emotions have become more passionate and real, and my love for the characters more enhanced.
Make sure that you check triggers, because this whole series is full of them, and this final chapter in their story was definitely the darkest. But I loved the flow and I especially loved the ending.
My score for this book was a 5 star, series in total 4.75. Definitely in my preferred genre.

Blimey things got way darker in this finale. Be warned there is content in this book and the series in general that could upset some folks.
Charlotte (FMC) finds herself right back at the beginning with herself in the hands of the abusive & sadistic - Red. Only now she knows how to play his game with Fyre's help. Twisted plot twists, lots of bloody parts and steamy ones too all go together to make for a brilliant conclusion. One hell of a read.

Wow. It's like each book in this series gets darker and darker. This book kept me in anticipation the whole read wondering what was going to happen to both Fyre and Charlotte. The ending totally surprised me and made me wonder if both were a little crazy, but considering what they'd both been through I kinda understood. Great read though. I received a review copy of this book and am leaving a voluntary honest review.

Ok so just a warning. This series gets more and more twisted and sadistic as the hooks progress. The end is a crazy, unbelievable, dark and par for the theme. I found it interesting they Fyre kept ending up in his situations, considering his experience and history. I wish we knew more about Andy and Rick. Regardless, this book or series is not for everyone. I had to skim over some parts. This book was a 3.5 for me.

Wow, what an intense end to this trilogy. This one had me in a chokehold until the last chapter. We learn a lot more about why Fyre is the way he is, and it’s heartbreaking! I love that he found Charlotte and got another shot at being happy. Even if he went about it a little messed up. But again, that’s how he is, and Charlotte isn’t exactly normal or sane either so they fit. They complete eachother. And omg Arrow, such a sweet and protective dog. I love her so much!

This is book #3 in this series and the riveting conclusion to Charlotte and Frye’s journey. This book is dark, action packed, full of twists and turns, and spicy romance woven into one addicting story. I could not put it down. I’m absolutely in love with Fyre and all his possessiveness, he’s so swoon worthy. Highly recommended read and series!

Catching Fyre by Logan Fox is the conclusion of the story of Gideon and Charlotte!! BAM!!!!! Whew!!! Who could have predicted this morbid, creepy outcome!! Again, this story just sends shivers down my spine and gives me goosebumps!! There’s a huge level of shock, terror, and morbidity…that you will dream of it for days!!.fascinating look at pain, healing, and redemption!!!

Catching Fyre is book 3 in the Fyre and Ashes series and oh what a dark and twisted conclusion this author has delivered. Things finally come to a head in this dark cat and mouse game. I felt so bad for poor Charlotte, the victim of all the mind games and abuse. This story is well written and almost impossible to put down. If dark reads are your jam, this book is for you.

Pure twisted depravity but it’s like a train wreck you can’t stop watching. This is an intense psychological thriller with a cast or stalker and just twisted characters. I could not tear myself away from this book but be warned this is not for the faint of heart! It is dark. It is brutal and it is f*ed up! So please take every single one of those trigger warnings to heart!

Catching Fyre is dark and twisted in a way that I couldn't help but enjoy. This was the end to Fyre and Charlotte's story and it was definitely worth the wait. Boy did it get dark though. The final installment to their story kept me on my toes with action, kinky bits, and some truly F'ed up scenes. I enjoyed every single moment of it too!
