This week is not going to plan…

So far, I’ve been stood up, taunted by a kid, and dunked in coffee. And that was just on my way to my job interview.

I almost couldn’t believe it when the hot stranger who crashed into me in the coffee shop came to my rescue. Unfortunately, this stranger has a name – Natalie Dalton – and she might’ve also popped up at my job interview. And then on a night out. In fact, now she won't leave me alone.

Thank God, she’s not even remotely my type, or I could be in real trouble…

Two strangers, one collision, and a whole lot of fate, chaos, and bed-sharing combine in this feel-good lesbian romantic comedy.

2.5. Kindle Unlimited.

Just a whacky fun fast paced story.

But the over the top antics did get a bit much, and the constant bantering was a little exhausting - for me! But that's just me. An entertaining read for the most part. Not much depth, just a casual read for shits'n'giggles.

5 ★ | Full of innuendos and moments that made me giggle. Lighthearted in places but slightly angsty in others. Well proportioned to my acquired taste. Enjoyed the relationship dynamic. Sunshine x grumpy. Chemistry. Flirty banter. All in all a five star romance from me. Can’t ask for much more from my lesfics.

Not as funny as Liar, Liar which it reminded me of for the structure and plot, but still gave me several smiles.

Easy and fast reading. 3.8 stars.

Immensely enjoyable, fast paced

While there were a few very minor typos, this book was immensely enjoyable. The narrative style was a bit messy, but that actually brought these characters to life and I'm guessig it was intentional because both characters are a bit chaotic and messy by nature, so it works. It's fast paced, no slow build here, and funny enough to keep me waiting for the next laugh and knowing it was just a few pages off at any point.

Buying kindle unlimited has been so fruitful for me. I've found so many new authors to obsess over. When I read the blurb of this book I was sure I'd love it. But man the actual book was so much more witty and funny and heartwarming than I expected. One qualm I have with lesfic books are the very meh title character names. It's a strange thing to pick on but oh well. I'm so glad the leads here had such good names. And amazing personalities too. They have a ton of chemistry and all in all, it was a very good book.

A fun few hours

Olivia Lucas presents an engaging rendition of the “Hot for Boss” trope in her light-hearted, quick-read Blurred Lines.

From their first encounter, while still strangers, you know Mia Andrews and Natalie Dalton are destined for an epic Happily Ever After — what could go wrong when the main characters first meet in a head-on coffee shop collision that lands Mia on her butt, wearing a coffee-soaked shirt?

Mia also refers to Natalie as an idiot — the same idiot who turns out to be the CEO interviewing Mia for a job just 20 minutes later.

Lucas adds to her novel’s entertainment value with the secondary characters she creates — including Mia’s enthusiastic best friends Amy and Jules, her unpleasant older sister Janet, her effervescent dad Rob and loving stepmother Mimi.

Natalie enjoys the confidence of loyal employee and mom-like meddler Joan, who offsets the venomous relationships she has with her father, co-owner of Dalton Media, and her stepmother Ronnie, formerly her father’s mistress.

A Cute Exciting and Sweet Love Story!

This was such a fun storyline. It has taken us to a collision, a bar bump in and a job interview all in one week. Mia is the victim and Natalie is the “idiot” who bumped into her, the boss who interviewed her or lack of and the woman who bumped into her in the bar. Both women has convinced themselves that neither are their type but that doesn’t change the fact that on a business trip things get a little out of hand. Promising one night and it’s over but is it ever really over when feelings are getting involved. This was just a good sweet read.

Undecided on finishing this book.

To be honest wanting to know how the story goes but so many times almost once per page the Lords name being taken in vain is very off putting. There are other words that could be used as an expletive…

This was an enjoyable and balanced rom-com. The main character was chaotic, but not glaringly so, strange enough to be interesting, not so strange as to be totally contrived. Her bestie was quirky too, but still seemed like a real person. Their roomie banter was playful and engaging, so we believed that this person would support the main character in her quest for love.

It had some of the tropes like ice queen, mean boss, one-bed, but there was enough synergy between the characters to offset it. Natalie got depth with the relationship with her assistant. Tropes can be tricky. People read romance to get at the things they like. The audience shows up wanting to see those elements repeated, but in a context varied enough to dispel how contrived it all is. Do it wrong, and the audience is disappointed, investing time reading something cardboard. Do it right, and the audience can relax into the fantasy enough to escape.

And don't we need more of that these days?

One of very few DNFs for me, And I’ll read almost anything to completion. This was overly forced in so many ways it felt like reading someone’s English homework assignment. Random similes thrown about, the introduction of characters and their physical descriptions are so crazily rushed and the chapters are like Mia, Mia, Mia, Natalie, Mia… what’s that about lol? I can see why people could enjoy it, super light hearted plus lots of back n forth banter (I’d argue, too much) and I did read 30% but I have 0 interest in how the two come together.

The moment I knew I was done was when Mia invites her boss to stay for dinner out of the blue and Natalie agreed when this would be totally out of place in reality and the only inner thought was like “huh that was weird”… like did you have no mental faculties left for a real thought process.

Writing this I think 2 stars may have been generous, I’m clearly not happy HA.

Great story with with constant off-the-wall entertainment. Fabio was the best! (Yeah, the cat kind of stole the show.) My two small reservations are: there were several moments in the first half where it got really confusing whose POV we were supposed to be in or who was speaking… I think because of typos that mis-attributed things. And the drama toward the end seemed a little overblown and avoidable, mainly because there wasn’t communication and it didn’t seem like there was a great in-character reason to skip even the most basic text/call/chat. But… those are small — I still read straight through to the end and enjoyed it.

The end certainly seemed to leave open the possibility of hearing Janet’s story in the future? I’d read it.

Fun read with a connection and very hot scenes to match

There was a lot of descriptive text. Some I enjoyed, some I didn't because it was a little lengthy, but overall I really enjoyed this story. Loved Natalie and Mia's connection and fascination for each other and also the sex scenes between them were direct and hot. I also enjoyed the laughs that some of the humorous scenes brought. To see Natalie's inner self slowly brought out by Mia's witty interaction and connection was fun and somewhat moving and it makes you wish you have that effect on someone else.
I'd love to find a connection and love like they share in this story.

Blurred Lines is full of fun dialog and amusing scenes as Mia and Natalie circle around each other trying to determine just where their relationship is going. There is also a decent supporting cast moving the story along at key points. However, the overall story arc is a little disjointed. Some chapters appear to start in the middle of a scene, and it takes several paragraphs to figure out just how the characters got into that situation. Constantly wondering if the reader accidentally skipped a chapter is quite distracting. That aside, this is an enjoyable, if occasionally confusing, read.

I loved this book, absolutely loved it! I have read many sapphic books this year, but this was definitely the best one so far - I felt like I was watching a movie, and you don’t always have this feeling with books. Sometimes, the story is a bit too much, sometimes the characters are weird or the dialogs between them are not even showing the suspense that is being said that is between them, but this book, I wish everyone would discover it and read it!

I loved the energy between Mia and Natalie, I loved how the dialogs really strengthened the sparkles between them, I loved how the plot made them closer together through the conference, hot Natalie was slowly opening up, as it would be in real life! That’s why it felt like a movie.

5/5!

Funny and cute story!

I try not to take other reviews at face value before I read a book and honestly, I didn't even notice the seemingly not so great flow of the book. I loved it! I've read about 30 books in the last two months and this is only the second review I've left. It was cute! And had me laughing quite a bit! I appreciate that! I read it for free and ended up buying it so I can read it again without replacing it with another book. Give it a shot for what it is, a cute and funny story about being hot for a boss. Who doesn't love that?!

RomCom

I never expected a romantic comedy when I started reading this book. But that’s exactly what you get. I laughed my butt off constantly. I swear I left more reading this book in the previous 10 romcom movies I’ve watched. What an epic story. It was just a tick at the end.

I wasn’t quite happy with a bit at the end, but not enough to stop me from recommending the book. I really do think her friends didn’t have to be assholes at the end to get a similar ending.

Delightful reading

My first book by Olivia Lucas turned out to be a joyful ride.
As with most HEA rom-coms, it’s not the final destination but rather the journey that makes the reading worthwhile. 💕
The legion of hilarious supporting characters only make this a more enjoyable sojourn.
I look forward to reading, what I hope will be the next in a line of equally entertaining romantic adventures. 😘

Olivia Lucas really knows how to set the scene for some explosive laughter, as well as tender moments, with a side of angst along the way. Engaging, some slightly oddball characters and a plot that is not the cliché that many WLW can become.
Thoroughly enjoyable, well deserving of a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ rating and I can’t wait to get into more LOL adventures with Olivia and her unconventional characters!

This is the second Olivia Lucas book I’ve read and it did not disappoint. This book was hilarious, to the point I was laughing like a maniac on my crowded train. Olivia’s writing style, combined with the dual POV made me feel like I knew the characters. Both Natalie and Mia were endearing and i loved reading their interactions with the hilariously written side characters. The banter between the two main characters was the highlight of the book for me - Mia frustrated Natalie in all the best ways!
This is the perfect, easy Summer read. But be warned this is the kind of book you will finish in one sitting!

Blurred Lines

This is my first book by Olivia Lucas. I enjoyed the chemistry and the quirkiness of the MC. It didn't seem to flow smoothly, yet it had all the parts to make a great story. I felt some on the angst was unnecessary, but the last part was and resolved well and timely. I will read more from this author in the future.

This Is Not A Slow Burn Romance!

But despite explosive chemistry from the start, neither believes this can become real. And then, when it does, neither believes the other wants more than just a sizzling physical hookup. But the end comes with a twist that I didn’t see coming.

A fun WLW romance that sizzles from the first moment to the last.

A real cracker!! It had loads of banter and stupid humour, which I love when well done and, IMHO, it was! It had this upbeat atmosphere and if there was anything bad about it I forgot by the ending.

Y'all should try. The speed dating scene alone sent me and almost made me have an accident in a public space.
