I wish I liked this more than I actually did because Jensen's writing is fresh and the author has all the potential to become a sensation.
Unfortunately, there were a couple too many things that didn't work for me that kept me from fully enjoying this.
First of all, the insta-everything between the two MCs was unsufferable; even if I could overlook the lack of progression, I could never turn a blind eye to the way Luka and Dylan were thrown together, right from the start.
As I've mentioned at the beginning, I really like Jensen's style, but her dialogues are too wordy, too crafted. MMC talks like he's just walked out of a fanfiction - a particularly well-written one, but a fanfiction, nonetheless.
You see, I don't mind this fact per se, because I'm well aware I'm reading a fictional story; what I don't like, is being reminded I'm doing it because the main character of my book talks like a Shakespearean street performer.
The smut was alright. There were scenes that almost made me blush, but it was nothing exceptional and I found myself wondering if I could skip scenes without it being considered heating.
Same with the romance, that was okay and kinda sweet, overall.
I think I expected something more or different, maybe darker, from this book.

I'm still wishing the author the best of luck with her novels and would love to read her books again in the future.

3.75 smut-scale stars!
Mine for 24 Hella-Hours was a really cute and steamy novella. Luca and Dylan jumped off the pages with their chemistry. Luca was both dominant and golden retriever and Dylan was fierce and feminine.
Not a whole lot of plot but enough character development and steam to make up for it! Enjoyed it.

This book was impossible for me to put down! I received this ARC this morning, and I’ve already finished it. I want to cry because I do not want to be done with Luka and Dylan’s story! 😩 This book was phenomenal! Kay knew what she was doing while writing this book. She knew what us spicy romance readers want! The spice in this book is chefs kiss and it is really brought to life. Luka is one heck of a man, I’ll tell you that! 😍 You need a new book boyfriend? Lemme put you on to one! This man cares, all the way around, this man cares about everything! His heart is so huge, and he is very successful. The attraction between the two main characters is everything! I probably highlighted like 75% of the book 😂 Not only that, but he KNOWS what he’s doing 😏 I talked about needing a time machine so that I could travel to this day just to read this book, and now…I need a time machine so that I can go back to this morning and read it again for the first time! This is definitely one of my top reads of 2023! 🤩

DNF @57% Kay, honey, next time you have a crush on your tattoo artist please go tell him. Don't write cringy garbage novellas about it. And please do your homework about tattooing because half of the shit in here were pulled out of your 🍑. And learn more about human anatomy. And do something about your vocabulary 'cause this was just pathetic. And work on your character building and dialogue. And your sex scene descriptions and dirty talk - they were so awful and off putting I couldn't go through them without eye rolling or keel over with laughter.
This novella is total waste of time. It gave me nothing but it killed a few brain cells (and I didn't have a lot to begin with) so there you have it 🤷🏻♀️

Dylan and Luka's story is one that grabs your attention from start to finish. I read it in one sitting and loved every minute of their journey!
These two are SO adorable, and their growing (and ever so steamy) relationship is one that I'll never forget 🥰

Woohoo!!!!! Saddle up cuz this here is one HOT book!!!! Like holy moly! It’s not a long book but it’s packed with spice and intensity.
Everyone needs to find their soulmate if he is like Luka Birmingham.

Don’t worry it’s not all steaminess, this book is about human connection and what it feels like when two people were made for each other. They compliment everything about the other, they implicitly trust each other, their interactions are just easy and honest and trusting. It’s everything we read about but Kay explains it on a different level where you just feel it all and it affects you. Like really dares you to analyze all your relationships and interactions. It’s intense. I don’t think I’ll forget this book.

I'm just gonna come out the gate and say one of the best books I've read in a long time period! I received this book as an ARC and I had never heard of this author but the synopsis had me intrigued. I don't usually go for "tattoo" themed books but that being said I wanted to give it a try and a free book why not? What's there to lose? I gotta say Luka is that book boyfriend! That every girl NEEDS in her life. He is sweet, confident and he does two things that drive this girl wild!! Lip biting and filthy dirty talk! I usually read dark Mafia, even with those red flags I still want them.. who can blame a girl really?! But Luka is basically sane! Who would have thunk it, this girly would fall for that? I mean it's gotta be the dirty talk? Right? Anyhow 🏃♀️ don't walk when this book drops September 10th!! It's amazing read. Just make sure to have some alone time and your little friend. Steamy read ladies ❤️

The story of Dylan and Luca took me by surprise! This is a novella, focused on the sexual adventures and exploration between two total strangers that become so much more. I didn’t expect this amazing chemistry between these characters. The way they gradually opened and connected with each other was so beautiful, especially for a book that is …. 90% smut.🥹
The smut was sizzling and just delicious, the chemistry was great, the characters were fun, so for me this novella was a hit. A fun, easy and fast ride. Luca especially was delightful to say the least. He was the perfect balance between dominant and caring, possessive but also cute. He had this golden-retriever bf vibe but with a dark aura, that made him an addiction on his own.
My only issue with the novella was that the scenes felt as they blended into each other in a confusing way. Maybe it was the pacing or the chapters structure. Still, for a novella this was fun, complete and so hot!
Did I like it? Really liked it.
Would I reread it? Hmm, maybe! For Luca.

This one just didn't do it for me. The insta-love was a bit much, and there was really no plot at all. Which, I guess, what else do you expect from a novella.. Plus quite a few grammatical errors that I noticed as well.

Strangers to lovers, pierced 🍆, tattoos, bikes, makes you pancakes the next morning… what more could you want? Oh you want spice? HERE, SPICE GALORE. Spice that also has fluff and is full of praise, power, freedom and exploration. “Sex is art”. Luka sure as hell makes it art let me tell you 🥵🥵 did I think food play would ever be a kink of mine? No. Did I pick up a chocolate cake to bring home after reading this. Yes I fucking did. 🤣👏🏼 my husband will be reading this for homework. And he calls her wildflower 😭😭 Luka is the gold standard for men moving forward. I don’t make the rules (yes I do and this is now a rule) this was sweet and spicy all bundled up in a delicious bite. Kay you brought Luka and Dylan to life and gave the world new ways to explore love and sex. Phenomenal. A million stars.

This is the perfect book for someone who wants a short read with very minimal plot and a lot of spice! I loved some of the scenes that explored the act of communication, consent, and care during sex. The fruit scene is 🥵🥵. There is conversation about making sure there are safe words, verbal acknowledgment, and making sure that it’s always ok to stop if needed. I loved the concept of the “deal” of the book, and this could just be me because I’m used to reading much larger books, but I wish there was more plot. It was almost there. The ideas were great, but I just wanted those scenes a little longer with more detail. There were moments it felt a little rushed to me because of that. The details about the club, apartment, and tattoo shop were great though! I had a generic idea of what Luka and Dylan looked like, but more detail about them would have helped too. One think I really appreciate is the details of the bikes and being on them. It really is a freeing feeling. That is the best way to put it. The sex scenes were spicy, but there was just too much dialogue between the characters during. Some people might like that though, but it was just too much for me.

I'm all for "junk food" fiction, but this was pretty rough. Story was way over told, not shown or demonstrated. Everything was very overt. Incomplete character development that left you not caring what happened to either of the main characters, or anyone else in the story for that matter. The idea that the characters consider themselves "dark" is pretty bizarre. If it was just a book for spice, it fell a bit short there too. Definitely the majority of the very short book, but very forced, unnatural and kind of cringey.

My, oh, my. This was Kay's indie author debut, and I was fortunate enough to ARC read for her. SHE.DID.NOT.MISS. I ate this sh!t up.
Did the story have a ton of plot? No. A sh!t load of spice? Absolutely 🥵

This book is a debut novella by Kay Jensen. When I saw the promotion of the book I was very excited to read about it! It was short and fast paced, and the spice was really hot!
I enjoyed reading about Luka and Dylan, the instant lust/love trope went well with how the story developed and how they learned together what they liked and wanted out of each other both in the bedroom and outside of it. I had hoped we'd learnd a bit more about both of them. It's always nice having a bit of a back story and not only the here and now. Loved reading the dual-POV it's always nice getting in both their minds to see what they think.
I can't wait to see what else Kay Jensen is gonna bring to us.

This was Kay Jensen's first book and I instantly knew I needed to read this when she started promoting it!! I mean a tattooed biker is 100% a weakness for me so add in the deal and the spice and I was sold!
You can tell that Luka just has the biggest heart and is such as gentleman at times, but is also a man that knows what he wants, and what he wants is Dylan! I loved the way that these two met and the sass that Dylan instantly gave off. She also knew what she wanted and I loved that she was a FMC that ended up being a push over when she was with a guy.
I won't lie, there were points were the story jumped around a bit or didn't feel 100% realistic but I also don't read because its realistic and so I did really enjoy this. I also know that the author has taken on the feedback that she has received so far and made some tweaks (We love to see that in an author)!!
I think overall, this was a good first novella from this author and I am excited to read the second one!! I also blame this Kay for why I now cannot look at certain fruits the same way again IYKYK!

I initially found this on Instagram and signed up for an ARC copy and I'm so glad that I did. This was a good start for the author and this series. I loved that the characters were more emotionally developed than most and there were many insightful quotes and ideas throughout the book (intertwined with the spice, of course). While some of the dirty talking was not quite my taste and there were places where the writing was a little rough, I loved the fact that the author embraced a more wholesome approach to a relationship. I feel like with the romance genre, the sense of finding a partner you can explore your sensuality with can be lost (and honestly, understandably so since I too read just to escape). But I love that this was so much more than just sex. I have high hopes for this series and can't wait for the next one!

This was a pretty good read. I feel like it was kind of insta love, which is still strange to me, but it was a quick spicy read. Although some of the scenes I am not sure are actually doable, like when he was on top of her WHILE the bike was also moving. Overall, it was good, and I will continue with the series.

💭 Review : Were my expectations too high ? I guess. Did I enjoy that book ? Some people will love and some people won't : I didn't 😭. I don't like writing bad review 🫣.
Tropes such as "smut without plot" or "instant lust" are really not my cup of tea. I wanted more tension at first, for them to grow their feelings for each other before the smut. I was looking for more plot & characters background, something that would make me like Luka & Dylan. I stopped reading the smut scenes because past 50% they were ONLY smut scenes (even if the 1st one was really well written).
I feel like Kay Jensen's books can definitely have potential, the characters have something but aren't fully developed for my liking and the plot needs to be more thought out. Will maybe give a chance to the 2nd book!
💟 Would highly recommend if you like reading about : spicy romance+++, tattoo artist/club owner mmc, tattoos & piercings, instant lust, smut without plot, strangers to lovers.

I had the pleasure to read this as an ARC and let me just say.. it’s HOT!!
I dont think I’ll ever be able to eat an orange again without thinking about Luka Birmingham, that man is perfection!
Overall, I really enjoyed this book, I loved the FMC and you can never go wrong with an MMC that owns a tattoo shop and has a pierced 🍆! It’s a fast paced contemporary romance, and SPICY 🥵 As always check the TWs but definitely give this book a chance when it’s released!
