Bestselling author Cailtyn Dare brings you a new dark high school romance duet in the Heirs of All Hallows' series.
He’s cruel. He’s devious… and he’s determined to keep her.
Oakley Beckworth didn’t expect to fall for the daughter of the man who hates him and everything he stands for. But it happened anyway.
What started as a game to sabotage Tally’s plan to knock the Heirs off their throne quickly turns into a game of life and death. Headstrong. Tenacious. Pure.
She sees past all his bravado.
Oakley wants her even though he knows her father will never approve. Even though he’s not good enough for her.
But for once, Tally is determined to choose her own path in life … and she wants Oakley.
Because some people deserve to be loved.
Especially, the boy who did everything he could to save her.
Cruel Devious Heir: part two is a dark high school bully romance. If possessive, rugby playing alphaholes aren't your thing, you probably won't like this book! It should be read after part one.
Caitlyn Dare’s “ Cruel Devious Heir” is a definite must read!
My Review ⤵️
I am so excited about this series, it’s everything you could want in a dark bully story.
Caitlyn Dare has given us yet another cast of multilayered characters that are definitely more than what you think and it just makes you more connected than you probably should be. Oakley and Tally have so many things stacked against them, so many reasons why they shouldn’t be together and yet the connection they share just might be too much to resist.
This is Oakley and Tally’s HEA, but don’t worry you are still getting all the angst, but we also get any questions that we had about these two answered and we also get the promise of more from this world and this cast of characters which is so exciting! I love Caitlyn’s books, they are always a bit dark, but they always surprise me with more. You have to read these in order, so go start this now!
I'm so thrilled to have read the complete duet for Tally and Oakley! With how things ended in book 1 I knew that we were in for it in book 2. I just didn't expect to be put through so many emotions all at once! I was mad, sad, heartbroken, and happy all in the span of 335 pages!
Oakley and Tally’s relationship is definitely put to the test! I love the fight and determination in this book and then you have the passion that pours off the pages! The push and pull and lack of communication had me screaming at my kindle, trying to get characters to give in! And you cant forget the spice, that's just as high in book 2.
It's a true love story with the perfect ending that suits Oak and Tally to the T! I can't wait for the Heir to fall for his girl!
Cruel Devious Heir: Part Two is the epically mind-blowing conclusion to Oakley and Tally’s story. It seems the more cruel and devious they are, the harder they fall. Oakley was king alpha-hole when it came to Tally, and I’m sure that nobody was more shocked by the good girl being the one who would bring the cruel heir to his knees than the Cruel Devious Heir himself.
Tally had a type of strength that wasn’t always at the forefront; it was in a low-key sort of way. Sure, she was the "good girl," but that wasn’t all. She went toe to toe with the heirs, knowing with everything she had that there were people who didn’t have a voice, so she used hers to try and bring balance to All Hallows’. In doing so, she not only found herself falling for the heir, who was everything she shouldn’t want, but she also started to find out who she was beyond who she had been "told" she was. That girl had strength, fire, passion, and sass, but more than anything, she was a survivor.
For a few heartbeats, Oakley had everything he never knew he wanted. He didn’t need to chase the next high when Tally was in his arms; she soothed his soul like a light breeze on a hot day. When it was all ripped away, he went from grumpy to insufferable. My heart physically ached; the way his and Tally's pain bled through the words on the page was a level of heartbreak I wasn’t prepared for. Panic, pain, and unadulterated fear, but there was also the calm that Tally brought to Oakley and the fire he lit inside of her. They were opposites in so many ways, but they were exactly what each of them needed.
From the very first word until the last, there was barely time to take a breath as this fast-paced story played out before your eyes. From scenarios that nightmares are made of to being flooded with emotion and white-hot steam, there’s not a dull moment leading up to Tally and Oakley’s fraught road to their HEA.
I didn’t think it was possible for someone to dethrone Reese, but that was only because I hadn’t spent enough time with Oakley. He’s cruel, devious, and would burn the world down for his girl, and damn if that doesn’t make him one swoony alpha-hole.
Cruel Devious Heir: Part Two is a tantalizing blend of soul-encompassing chemistry, a strong heroine, a deviously dark alpha-hole, spine-chilling twists, heart-pounding suspense, ALL the angst, and vehemently unrestrained steam. As though that’s not enough, all the little glimpses of what’s to come for the remaining Heirs are the equivalent of literary edging, and I have no doubt the torture will be worth it.
This starts where the first ended Tally is making assumptions about Oakley and she's hurt again. Is she projecting what happened previously? She is being warned that she shouldn’t jump to conclusions but she is conflicted and finding it hard who to believe.
Right away the writing reels you in and you soon realise that there may be something else that is going on, something bigger.
I like that we get more insight into Oakley in this one. He feels inferior, worthless, second best to his sister and he thought that he finally found the one person that will put him first, even though they were supposed to be on opposite sides.
I did get irritated at Tally on occasion, she really did act all prim.
This is like a Romeo and Juliet story. Tally was constantly trying to make parents happy doing what you can to please them. Oakley is different, he's growing and realising that he cares
You don't choose who you love. When something happens to Tally, their relationship becomes known and Oakley will do what he can for Tally. He now needs to prove himself.
Caitlyn does really well keeping you engaged in the story and showing us one hand when we don't know what the other is doing. We think one thing but are then surprised with what actually happens.
This was a story about standing up for what you believe in even if it goes again what everyone else thinks. It shows that the line between black and white is thin and that there is grey in the world. That you can't always take things at face value.
It shows that if you love someone enough, you fight for thar person with everything you have. I liked how Tally was with Oakley, he bought out a side in her, they all did that shows you have to live for yourself, be happy for yourself, no one else.
To start, I love how every story is different with all of Caitlyn’s series. And this one follows suit. The first two books (Olivia and Reece) are so very different form Oak and Tally. Which makes reading the series that much more fun.
Now, to speak specifically about this book…it was fantastic. Several layers to this story were laid in the first book, leaving lots of questions. And we are going to pick right up with the heartbreak and questions. But we aren’t don’t there. Things have to get worse before they can get better. And trust me, they do. It’s gonna take some time, but Ms Dare knows what she’s doing so trust her process!
I love how we have watched Tally evolve from the shy, timid girl we first met. By the end of this book, I feel like we’re dealing with a whole different person. So much growth. It’s empowering watching her find her voice.
And Oak…oh Oakley. We watch him finally break. And it’s hard to read. You can literally feel his pain. And that speak volumes to the author.
And lastly, let’s talk about some of these background characters. While Olivia and Reese are no longer main characters, we still get to continue to see their relationship flourish. Abi and Elliott…I’m calling it now! Those two have to end up together. The chemistry even in the background is HOT! But our glimpse at the next installment will finally answer the question on if Theo can be tamed.
Overall I’m loving this series. It’s got an amazing story line, depth to the characters, and spice when needed. I can’t wait to read the future heirs books. And see what else is in store for these characters. I highly recommend it.
Kindle Unlimited: Yes Stand-alone: No- Duet Author: Caitlyn Dare Rating: 5/5 ⭐️ Spiciness Rating: 2/5 🌶 POV: First Person Dual Perspective Main Couple: Oakley and Tally Trope(s): Suspense, Revenge, Frenemies To Lovers, High School, Sport, Secret Society
“But if I’ve learned anything about the Heirs in the last few weeks, it’s that their bond surpasses obligation or legacy. They’re family. Not by blood but by choice. And once you’re in their circle, they will do anything to protect you.”
Cruel Devious Heir- Part Two is the fourth book in the Heirs Of All Hallows’ and the conclusion to Oakley and Tally’s Duet. The Heirs are beloved, worshiped, idolized, and have their futures mapped out. They are the leaders of tomorrow and they revel in the debauchery of it. The game of cat and mouse has led them to this path. Their relationship exposed. The Darlingtons and Beckworths have been on opposite sides for years, the father’s courtroom enemies, and the hate has been ingrained. But, Oakley is determined and this guy has a plan. And, Tally finally chooses herself and those not on board, well, that’s their issue.
We pick up where Part One left us, with even more questions. And, this book is on the go from the first words, not letting up.
We are kept edged with suspense as Oakley desperately tries to remember and uncover what happened the day he was attacked. And, when we aren’t reeling from the what-ifs enough… Tally goes missing.
Oakley is ready to burn the world to the ground. The Darlingtons and the Beckworths find themselves caught between a rock and a hard place.
Wow! I’d say between the first and second part of this duet I’d give it between a 4 and a 5. I really loved certain aspects of both books. In the first one I absolutely adored Tally’s strength. No matter what was thrown her way she stood tall and I loved how she didn’t put up with anything from Oak. It was nice to see her take on the Heirs no matter what the reason was. I was nervous for Oak’s book after reading about him in Liv’s because he just seemed so gross but watching him fall for Tally was wonderful. Honestly I liked him even better than Reese.
The second book!?! He went all out. His gesture was so sweet and between his dirty talk and kind words he became the ultimate book boyfriend. I loved how he understood how important it was to win Tally’s dad over and how he got clean for her and their future. The spice definitely ramped up in their story, we had a virgin h who totally adapts to the dirty talk, it was wonderful seeing Tally come out of her shell. Oak was protective and possessive, I think they made the perfect couple.
I do wish that he had acknowledged his mess up of forgetting their first kiss. I know Liv told him about it but it would’ve been nice for him to give Tally that closure. I also would’ve loved a further out epilogue because Oak as a dad or husband? Yes, please!
I was so shocked to see that Theo’s book was next but from the epilogue I think we are getting another strong FMC who has trauma to match Theo. It’ll be interesting to see what direction that goes in. I think this author is saving the best for last though because I’m dying for Elliot and Abi’s book!
Started strong but lost its way, meandering for almost half the book on a parent’s acceptance. Oakley was all in, the sexy, giving alpha that Tally loves, and the love they share warm, with a healthy dose of dirty-talking spice. A thrilling twist in the plot line that could have been more — and was great while it lasted — but wrapped up with a blink of an eye, not even played out. The bad guy was simply dealt with at the stoke of a sentence.
In terms of writing, vocalized pauses with over abundant ellipses were so generously employed that I … found the conversion distracting, rather than faltering from emotions.
The best part of this book was the main characters’ interactions with the side characters. I liked the fun clash of personalities, the ribbing, and the hints at future relationships, Elliot and Abi’s in particular.
Tally and Oakley were a great couple whose love realizes itself by the middle of the book. There was character growth: Tally’s standing up to parents, Oakley’s self-confidence in not feeling second best and relinquishing vices. There was steam. Where the story took a turn was after the sub-arc, which didn’t fully develop before it was instantly solved. Then, Tally’s fight for herself and her love of Oakley. However, the winning her parents over, her dad, was the most damaging to the plot’s progression and interest. It took the entire second half of the story and simply felt unwarrantedly drawn out, despite the fun characters interactions.
I’m interested in the next books, however, as Theo and hopefully Elliot have their stories. And overall, I find the books in this series entertaining.
Cruel Devious Heir: Part 1 left us hanging on a jaw-dropping cliffhanger. Book 2 doesn't make you wait long and picks up right where that left off. Starting you right out of the gate with drama and excitement.
Caitlyn Dare throws you for a loop with the big twist this book throws at you. The threats and danger you thought you knew were just the beginning.
It was great seeing all the Heirs come together to support their brother and best friend, Oakley. What was important to him automatically important to them.
I also loved seeing all of the friends in a relaxed setting after all the drama settled a little. It was nice seeing them laugh and have fun together. Watching relationships grow and new ones form. We get to see a more gentle side to the tough Heirs we all know and love.
And Oakley really steps up and shows how much he cares for Tallulah. When he sets his mind to something, Oakley is all in. He was still the cocky rich playboy we fell in love with in book one, but boy, when he throws that charm in his personality, you can't help but fall even more.
Tallulah had some really tough decisions to make in this book. Her strength really shined through, and it was beautiful to see her character development. Also, like Oakley, when she was in, she was all in.
I can not wait to see what Caitlyn Dare has in store for us with the next Heir in line!
I did not expect that. What a man Oak turned into. After the very intense and suspenseful things that Tally had to get through, Oakley really stepped up. He not only had to win her over but others too.
And boy did he do that. He was so sure of his feelings and everything he was willing to do for her. Or proving to her he meant it.
Tally had a lot to endure and her head was all over the place. She didn’t know what to do or feel. Not being one that wanted to disappoint anybody she doubted herself.
When they were finally on the same page, the book was on a new level. And when the surprise, or more, the grand gesture Oakley had prepared, was revealed, my eyes got watery. I really appreciated how things turned out and came to the perfect ending. And the few hints about future possibilities for a story or two had me curious.
Oakley’s change of hearts and mind, and the thoughts he had throughout were so amazing to read. Tally finally stood up for what she wanted and acted on it. Loved her change of being too.
Both needed each other to bring out the best of the other one. They supplement each other perfectly. And by doing so turned together into a wonderful and devoted couple.
This was not at all how I expected Tally and Oakley's story to go!! I loved it though! This was much darker than the first book and much more emotional. It was intense in parts and the story had me so wrapped up I couldn't put it down.
Oakley really stepped it up. He was willing to protect and do what needed to be done. I always liked Oakley and I'm glad he pulled his head out of his bum and proved he was worthy.
I loved Tally in the first book and I loved her here. This poor girl has been through so much $&*@ and she still stays true to herself. She is an unstoppable force to be reckoned with! I was on pins and needles reading some of her parts and I couldn't be more impressed by her fire.
I liked getting to see more of the guys and how they all bicker and banter between each other. I also enjoyed getting a better glimpse at Elliot and Theo's potential love interests???!! I'm really looking forward to watching Theo meet his match! I can't wait to read it!! This was a gripping story that had a choke hold on me till the end. I'm really loving all these characters and going on this journey with them. The story is very intriguing and well written. It's also beautifully descriptive and I can easily picture the english countryside. I would definitely recommend this duet. It will tug at your heartstrings and have you rooting for the characters.
I can’t get enough of the heirs crew that Caitlyn Dare brilliantly brings to life. Cruel Devious Heir is a beautifully broken book of soulmates that rendered me breathless and begging for more. The writing wove a spell where I was pulled into this deep and deliciously decadent romance with Romeo and Juliet vibes that stole my heart and mesmerized my mind.
The classic story of the good girl and the quintessential bad boy, Cruel Devious Heir stars the stunning saint and the sinner in an enthralling cat and mouse game that morphs into more. Oakley and Tally are combustible from body to heart to soul, and I loved their chemistry and addiction to each other. This good girl heroine and bad boy hero with beautiful hearts are magical together, a bold fusion of dark and light, and I felt their force slam through the pages.
This book brings the red-hot tension, dangerous twists and turns, delicious drama, steamy heat, and all the feels. A seductive roller coaster that enthralls, explodes, and excites from beginning to end. I reveled in this romance. Dark, delectable, and dangerously addictive, Cruel Devious Heir is a must-read duet. Pure heart-pounding pleasure.
That conclusion to Cruel Devious Heir was everything I was hoping for. It was dark, spicy and had me laughing non-stop. This entire cast of characters are so fun, yet so gritty and it's an amazing combination.
Tally is incredible. The way she stands up for what she believes in and takes charge is the best. Whenever she does falter it breaks my heart knowing it has to be breaking hers too. I fell even more in love with her during this part of her story, she goes through a lot and comes out stronger than ever.
Oakley totally won me over in this one. The way he falls for Tally and stands up for her had me swooning. I loved how he reacted when he was in danger, reminded me so much of a mama bear, ready to take on the world to keep the woman he loved safe. And then the way he (kinda) finally wins over her dad? Swooooooon. I adore him.
I was wondering if we'd get Abi and Elliott next or if we're saving the dark leader for last. Turns out he is last and next up is Theo and a girl we don't meet until the absolute end of this book, but I already love her. She's going to give Theo a run for his money and I'm going to love every moment.
Oakley and Tally were put through the wringer in the second half of this duet. Emotionally and physically they both had quite a rough road and that's not even talking about the relationship between the two of them.
From the beginning until the end I couldn't set the story down. I had to know what would happen in this gripping tale. It was up and down and in the end these two really worked hard to deserve their HEA.
While in the first book Oakley began as a selfish, douchecanoe, by the end he'd already been winning my heart. In this book his transformation continued and Oakley became the man I was hoping for. I was so happy that he stepped up for Tally in a big way in this book. His actions supported his emotions and I couldn't be happier to see his big growth.
There is a section in this book where all of the Heirs and now Tally, Olivia and Abi all hang out and that part of the story is fantastic. I'm excited to see where the storyline goes next and how the next Heir falls for his girl.
Wow! This book was intense! Non-stop action from the beginning. The first book ended with a cliffhanger and this book continues with a twist I didn’t see coming. It was definitely mind-blowing, and the suspense had me on the edge of my seat. Another obstacle for Tally and Oakley to push through to reach their HEA.
There’s a lot of growth in this book, and I really loved that. Oakley really steps up and is determined to show the world what he is capable of and prove to the naysayers that he is worthy of Tally. He really exudes those “I’ll burn the world for you” vibes. Tally’s strength is demonstrated ten-fold with the traumatic experience she goes through. Her resilience and determination to fight make her one badass young woman!
I’m all for the banter the Heirs have with each other and now the ladies in their lives. I’m really intrigued with how things are flowing with Abi and Elliott. That is one story that I am anticipating.
And the SPICE?? What can I say but that it was steamy, smutty, delicious, all the words and all the chili peppers. Oakley really brings it and whatever he dishes, Tally is up for the taking. And the giving.
Gah! I LOVE Oakley and Tally so much. They complement each other perfectly. He's hard, she is soft. He's demanding, she is not. He's strong, and she is courageous.
Though, in this part of their story, we got to see just how strong and resilient Tally was. We also got to see the lengths that Oak would go to see her safe, happy, and content. And content looked really good on both of them. His grand gesture to show Tally's dad that he meant business was incredibly sweet - I loved getting to see Oak's softer moments.
Their need and their feelings for each other only grew throughout their story, and by the end of the book it is as if they had always been a couple. The line between Red and Elliott started to diminish as well... I am so excited to see what happens there!
So super pumped for more of these books! I love the way that Caitlyn Dare manages to make these morally challenged, devious, and sometimes cruel boys fall for these strong heroines and worship at their feet.
We start off right were the first book ended. Tally feels like Oakley betrayed her and lied just to torment her. When Oakley ends up in the hospital she starts to wonder if what she thinks is true. All Oakley wants is Tally so when he leaves the hospital AMA, he ends up at her house to confess his feelings, but her dad chases him away. This book is fast paced and has so many fantastic twists and secrets that keep you guessing. Oakley and Tally have so many obstacles to overcome. She has trust issues, and her family will not accept them together. You really see Oakley step up and prove how much he cares for her, While Tally struggles with what the right choice is. I loved seeing how the rest of the heirs accepted her and pulled her into their family. They protect their own. This book was fantastic, and I loved every second of it. Then we get a little look into Theo's story and also Abi and her crush on Elliot. I can't wait to see both those heirs fall for their women. There will still be some wild rides to come. I was given this book as an ARC for my honest review.
I really enjoyed the conclusion to Tally and Oaks story. It was heart pounding most of the time, wondering what was going to happen next. I thought I knew what was happening, but I was so so wrong. Tally is such a strong heroine. She knows what she is, what her morals are, and where she is willing to bend a little. She stands for what she believes in and she’s a survivor in the face of her world shattering. Oak is strong too, but he hurts deeper, let’s it get the best of him sometimes. But an Oak on a mission? Nothing can stop him. He was full steam ahead the whole time, sliding pieces around a chess board for an end goal. I loved getting a little more on Reese and Liv, and Abi, Elliot, and Theo. All of these heirs just capture your heart and you can’t help but to love them and root for them. I’m looking so forward to watching the guy who claimed to never want a girl finally fall on his butt for one. And the little snippet we get at the end of this one shows us that Theo has definitely met his match.
The unlikely duo of Tally and Oakley have won my heart. They made me laugh out loud and fall in love with them over the course of their books. There are so many outside forces that are keeping them apart. This couple has to work to overcome several obstacles and assumptions. We see a lot of self doubt and social anxiety with these characters.
No one ever suspected these two would fall for each other but they do. Oakley becomes a completely different person to prove he is worthy of her. Tally does not ask him to make these changes, she just brings out the good qualities he has kept hidden. Oakley is not the only one who needs to grow as a person, Tally has to realize that the only person she needs to make happy is herself.
If you are looking for a book that has a little of everything like teenage angst, family drama, criminal activity, steamy scenes and happily ever after. Look no further, this is your series. I am looking forward to reading about the rest of the Heirs.
The Heirs of All Hallows' series is pure depravity and debauchery. Caitlyn Dare never holds back and no one can deliever a deliciously toxic, DARK romance like this duo! So Cruel Devious Heir does not disappoint. CDH is split in 2books (a duet) and is a dark high school bully romance set in the Heirs of All Hallows' world. If possessive, rugby playing alphaholes are your thing... Buckle up and enjoy the ride! Bc this story has lots of steam, angst, bullying, drama and has a surprise ending you won't see coming.
Cruel Devious Heir- Part Two is the fourth book in the Heirs Of All Hallows’ and the conclusion to Oakley and Tally’s Duet. This picks up where Part 1 (book #3) ends.

What an amazing Part II. This part picks right up from where Part I finished. I was on pins and needles the whole time. Had to know what was going to happen. Tally is so strong. Loved how she kept her head high and didn’t put up with any crap. There were times, she fought it and lost but not that anyone else could see. Oakley is another Heir that fell. These bad boy’s think with only one head (if you catch my drift). But enter a beautiful, stubborn, smart woman and it’s all over. He tried so hard to hate her. But he just couldn’t deny how his heart felt. Tally and Oakley went through a lot to be together. Both had fathers, who fought on different sides. So that made things difficult. I loved reading about this relationship. About the growth and sacrifices they both made. How goody to shoes, can have a bad side and how bad boys can have a heart. Absolutely, amazing! Had all the Heirs in this book too. Along with Liv and Abi too. Just love this series. Can’t wait for Theo and Elliot now.
Tally and Oakley are absolutely everything. Cruel Devious Heir was amazing, I loved it so much!
Tally and Oakley need to overcome so many obstacles if they are ever going to be together. Trust is a huge issue, their families, the fact that he's an Heir just to name a few. Throw in some added drama and they have a mountainous battle on their hands.
I loved how Oakley gives everything he has in pursuit of Tally. He needs her in his life. Tally doesn't want to admit how much she needs and wants Oakley in her life especially given what he's supposedly done. The fight to overcome anything thrown at them is so intense for both of them. The chemistry they have is so so good too.
Well over ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ probably my favorite so far. The spice was 🤌 complete perfection 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶 I am absolutely DYING for Abi's story though, I need it in my hands like yesterday. I can not wait for the future of these characters!
This review is for both parts of CDH (Heirs #3-4).
As soon as I saw the tiny foreshadowing of Oakley and Tally in the previous set of books, I got excited. I'll admit Oakley is probably thus far my favourite Heir (though I actually like them all). So naturally, after finishing set 1, I dived right into this set.
Pros
1. Oakley. He is a complete ass, more so than Reese, and he appears to be a playboy who doesn't give two shits about most things. But I think he was my favourite 'side character' in the first Heir set, and he didn't let me down in his own set. Some of the things he does are deplorable, rude, and just flat out bad. But despite that, it's obvious he is protective and loyal to those he truly cares about (the other Heirs, his sister, etc). I think his path, though turbulent (what good character doesn't have turbulence now and then?), showed really good character growth. Oakley, deep down, was and is a good person. And I admit I found it cute how vain he was, sometimes. I find it cuter when the male characters are vain than the females.
2. Tally. In my other reviews, I usually say how much, in general, I hate the main female character. I liked Tally. I liked her more than Olivia. Sure, she could be indecisive and even a bit wishy-washy at times, but she's 18. If she was absolutely sure about everything and never changed her mind, I would question her age. She never thought she was badass (something I absolutely hate in a fc), but she generally stuck to her principles even when they backfired or got major hate. She was strong, especially in what she believed, but she wasn't over-the-top strong (something else I absolutely hate in a fc).
3: I think this one might be a spoiler, so I'll just put 'theme' before I hide it.
4. The side characters. In the first set, I mentioned how much I liked the side characters. This is basically the same for the second set. All of the Heirs I found interesting and unique (for the most part - I mean, they are all rich, entitled assholes but I think that's half the point). I really like Abigail's character so far, and I'm excited to read her story whenever that may happen. Some characters are just plain awful *coughMistycough* but I'm pretty sure that's intentional and at least she's been consistent throughout the series. Tally's parents were kind of meh, but I continued to like Christian Beckworth and Fiona.
5. The nickname 'Prim'. So much better than 'sweet cheeks', I found Prim to be rather adorable, somewhat accurate (until it was the complete opposite), and endearing. Whatever chosen nickname the main FC is important, and I think this one was fairly unique.
Cons
1: I think this one might also be a spoiler, so I'll just put 'dramatic plot twist'
2. The editing. As always, this seems to be a con of nearly every book in this genre that I've read. I feel like I should be used to it by now, but the grammar police in me is strong. I get it, a book is more than likely going to have errors. The amount of errors, however, is excusable or not. This one is in between. It's mostly commas, semi-colons, and periods swapping places, and a few oopsies like too instead of to. And then the whole I. Like. To. Emphasize. Words. bit. I hate that with a passion. Still, on the error spectrum, this one is pretty low. It's still a con, though.
3. The sex scenes. They weren't terrible. Most of them weren't lengthy. Some of them *could* have been a little shorter, but that's my own preference so I guess it isn't a major flaw. I felt like this set of books had more sex scenes in it than the previous set, although I didn't actually compare. It seemed like there was more emphasis on sex in this set instead of meaningful dialogue, but considering they didn't know each other as much as Reese and Olivia knew each other, and they are both teenagers (one of them an extremely horny male), I guess it makes sense.
4. The baking thing. I get it. She likes to bake. But where did those 72 cupcakes go? Part of me thought she was going to decide to open up a bakery, or go to pastry school, or something to kind of link all the baking together. Nope. She just likes doing it. Which is fine, everyone needs a hobby. It just seems like there was a lot of emphasis on her baking, to have it go nowhere.
The first (spoiler) con was my major issue. Other than that, I really liked this set. Now I'm really gunning for Abigail's story, but it looks like that will be the last set to be written. I believe Theo's story is up next, and I'm annoyed that I have to wait!
Wow! The second part to Tally and Oakley's story was such a ride! After the cliffhanger of the first book I wasn't sure what to expect next and my mind was blown by some of the events that happened to both Oakley and Tally.
There was heartbreak, determination, love declarations, trauma and loads of spice!
I really love Oakley and Tally's relationship, they have amazing chemistry and I really feel that they are a great fit for each other. Oakley needs someone like Tally to ground him and make him feel needed and cherished.
His relationship with Reese really improves in this book too and I love the teasing between these two as he now starts to fully accept Reese's relationship with Liv.
Tally goes through so much in this book. My heart went out to her for a good portion of this book. She goes through some seriously traumatising moments in this book and her relationship with Oakley at times was hanging in the balance.
On a side note can I just say how excited I was for the low key subtle flirting between Abi and Elliot. I seriously can't wait for them to get a book (please make it happen!).
This was another fantastic book by Caitlyn Dare and once again I was completely absorbed by these characters and the world they live in. Cruel Devious Heir delivered on engrossing plot, spicy smut and delicious alphaholes!
Cruel Devious Heir is book 2 in this duet and the fourth in this series. And it’s just as good as the first two!!!!!
After that cliffhanger in part 1….I was left shocked!! I had no idea where part 2 would take us but I do know I wasn’t expecting how is goes. Caitlyn Dare really threw me for a loop in the best way.
Tally and Oak are rivals. Their parents dislike each other well I guess dislike isn’t a strong enough word for how they feel about one and another. It gave me some strong Romeo and Juliet Vibes.
Oak and Tally’s story had a lot of road bumps. It took a lot of twist and turns to get to their HEA. But the outcome really was beautiful. Oak changes right before our eyes!!!
I’m extremely impatient for the next books. Theo and Elliot’s stories are going to be phenomenal.
One click this series…..it’s a 5 star and must read!
Well I thought I loved the first 2 books in this series but I think I love Cruel Devious Heir duet even more. The storyline is gripping and literally had me biting my nails (I never bite my nails) wondering what would happen next at some points. I could not put this book down from beginning to end.
Obviously if you are reading this book then you read the first one and already know that Oakley & Tally's relationship is tumultuous with a lot going against it and it only gets worse before it gets better but when it gets better it's so sweet and sexy you just want this couple to pull through and and get an HEA. I highly, highly recommend this series as every single book has been better than the last. I can't wait to see what Ms. Dare comes up with next but I am really hoping we won't have to wait long for a certain leader and his timid girl to get their HEA. Happy Reading!!!
I liked better the story of Oakley and Tally. The writing flowed better, although some of the script in the book was tedious, and I skimmed through it. Both main characters grew and matured throughout the dual books series. Both were able to come through their differences and find solutions for their relationship. Oakley was better at redeeming his original character. While Tally at specific parts of the script, I thought she was too stubborn. Her stubbornness dragged on too long. Most of the plot was easy to uncover. I still prefer Oakley’s dad and how he comes through for his children. I am unsure if I want to read Theo’s and Raine's stories. I need a break from this series. I feel as if something is missing to make it more interesting. However, I am more interested in reading Elliot and Abi's stories.
Although the feels that Oakley has for Tally were unexpected, they were undeniable. If he had never met her he wouldn’t know what he was missing but now he can’t imagine a future without her. Not everyone is happy they are together and will do anything to keep them apart but the heirs as a team are unbeatable.
Tally has gone through so much and continues to go through so much. With Oakley and the rest of the heirs she has found where she belongs. Getting together may have been difficult but she, Oakley and the rest of the crew are about to find out that staying together may be even more difficult.
So many surprises, so much heat and so much emotion as Oakley and Tally realize how special the love they share is and that they will do anything to protect it.
Cruel Devious Heir: Part 2 by Caitlyn Dare is the 2nd book in the Devious Duet within the Heirs of All Hallows’ series which is not complete.

I could not put this down!! I needed to know what was going to happen and it kept me on edge the entire time. Sooo so good and so excited to get more time with the group and I loved how Oak and Tally’s story was wrapped up!! 🤍🤍🤍 Was Oakley’s surprise predictable… yes but the reveal was perfect and these two are so damn precious. I am still not a fan of Tally’s parents those bitches so manipulative. Cannot wait for the rest of the series… especially Abi and Elliot!!
✨“The only person who gets you off is me. It’s only ever been me, and it will only ever be me. You got that?”✨
He’s cruel. He’s devious… and he’s determined to keep her. Oakley Beckworth didn’t expect to fall for the daughter of the man who hates him and everything he stands for. But she sees past all his bravado. And for once, Tally is determined to choose her own path in life … and she wants Oakley. Because some people deserve to be loved. Especially, the boy who did everything he could to save her.
This book just blew my mind. I just knew Oakley was going to have find the man he is deep inside himself that Tallulah needs by her side. This is the conclusion of Oakley and Tallulah story that literally hits the ground running and doesn't slow down with all the twists and turns and then the not 1 but 2 plot twist you don't see coming that leaves everyone trying to figure out what happened and where's Tally. Oh man was this book all kinds of good from start to finish I couldn't put it down it had me glued to the pages to see what was happening next. I can't wait for Theo to be knocked on his behind, because he's next.
