This series definitely needs to be read back to back as the books end and start in the same period. Books 1 and 2 dragged a little for me but they were setting up for the last 2 and the last 2 books did not disappoint and are what brought my rating from 3 stars to 4 stars for me. I enjoyed Mercy and Gabriel's banter and reading from both of their perspectives as their feelings changed for one another. I loved that Mercy saved herself, in many situation and ways and it wasn't Gabriel. Yes, he would have if he could have but Mercy wasn't waiting around to find out if he'd come. I raced through book 4, it was the perfect ending to the series and a HEA I was hoping for!
I waited almost a year for the final book to come out so I could read all of them at once and KA Tucker does not disappoint.
Mercy is in a tough situation with her dad being treated unfairly for defending her after she was attacked. Her father is now being hassled and attacked while serving time. Gabriel is one of the Empire sons, he rules over Phoenix with his brother. While both visiting their fathers in jail, they catch each other’s eye - immediately Gabriel is hooked. Mercy on the other hand wants nothing to do with it. Gabriel offers her a deal she can’t resist but also that she dreads fulfilling. Gabriel slowly breaks down those barriers but eventually Mercy can’t resist him.
Through out the books you watch as Mercy becomes stronger, more self confident and braver. Gabriel opens up more and actually starts to have emotions. The perfect balance of romance, steam, action and with plenty of twists and turns.
These books were a masterpiece that deserve way more attention then they have gotten IMO. I bought them all right away and they will definitely be on my reread list.

Dirty Empire is book 3 in the Empire Nightclub series. This book picks right up where book 2 leaves off, the plane explosion. We got to see who did and who didn't survive!
Mercy and Gabriel grow closer than ever in this book, their intimacy and connection are like no other. I loved seeing Gabriel become such a softy in this book! He really threw down some good feelings!
I loved seeing a protective side to Caleb, because honestly I didn't think he had it in him to feel for anyone but his brother. Seeing him with just one woman was a nice change! The one woman being Mercy's best friend who deserves someone better so let's hope he doesn't break her to badly!
The ending that sets up for the next book, I didn't see it coming and I can't wait for the next book. I've love all of these characters and I'm deeply invested in their ending. I can't wait to find out what happens next.
I really enjoyed the narrators for these books, and the plethora of plot twists that kept me guessing what would come next. The author did a great job of creating interesting characters who aren’t necessarily who they appear to be (or who are capable of evolving, at least. Some of whom, anyway! I’d have really liked to have seen Caleb become less disgusting or more discriminating about where he puts his 🍆. At least he wraps it though? 🤷🏼♀️).
The world creation was well done too. Decent amount of spice & not a ton of angst/high anxiety even though there is definitely tension and parts that leave the reader worried about what’s going on or what’s going to happen next.
I think the fast paced action of the final book ended this series fantastically. My heart was in my throat and even though I was hoping for a HEA I couldn't be sure I was going to get it. I feel like there could be one or two spin off series that I would love to get my eyes around but I won't say too much so I don't spoil anything for anyone else.
This story, from the very first book really built into a wonderful climatic ending which I enjoyed very much! The characters, the good the bad and the ugly really dug their fingers in, and in the end I couldn't put any of the books down, desperate to find out what happens next.
This was my second series read by this author... so, coming off the phenomenal Wolf Hotel series I was on a high. This was a mob style story with some violence, killings, and the like. Mercy's father is imprisoned for an accidental murder coming to her defense. She catches the eye of Gabriel, whose father is also imprisoned due to his mobster ways. What starts out with Gabriel just wanting to take advantage of Mercy, turns into an unexpected love in the midst of so much violence. This was a good read, but it wasn't one of those series that totally immersed me in the story and couldn't put down.. I took quite a few breaks in between!
1.5 stars rounded up. Disappointing series from this author. I loved The Simple Wild and thought the Wolf Hotel series was really hot; this was too rushed - not enough relationship development between Gabriel and Mercy (other than mutual attraction, what do they have?), and the storyline itself moved along far too quickly considering the number of characters (would have been better to leave some of them out, like Uncle Peter and the cousins).
For all the sex they have, it’s not even that sexy, just gratuitous. This mobster storyline is done better by other authors - try Meghan March if you’re into this.
This is my second series by this author and I continue to be amazed. This series hooked me in the first few chapters and I wasn’t able to do anything else but read every chance I got. I’m a sucker for an alpha with a soft side and Gabriel consistently proved over and over throughout the entire series what a good guy he actually is. Mercy was a baddass heroine! At no point was she weak, but she loved just as hard as she fought. I absolutely loved the development of the relationship between Gabriel and Mercy. This book was also filled with action, mystery and twists and turns until the very end. I will definitely be searching for my next read from this author.
I finished the Wolf Hotel series by this author, and I thought it was brilliant. I then searched through her other books available on KU and found this set of books. The writing style is just as good, so I've given it 4 stars, but the fact that this was written in dual POV spoilt it for me, not least because the hero was a shallow piece of work. If I'd not had access to the Hero's thoughts, I would probably have stuck with this story. But I did, so I couldn't!
I've love this, it has everything I like: Slightly dark romance, lots of Spice, morally greyish hero, and fmc is not to be messed with, and very edge of seat storyline, it keeps you on your toes as a reader. No plot with obvious problems that'll happen, and when I got to 92% and thought we'll theres only one thing g left to finish this story, it's where I went wrong. Still a new plottwist again, but also a HEA. Love it when the auteur spins me around and takes me for a ride.
I absolutely loved everything about this series—it’s one of the best I've read. I hadn’t realized how much I still enjoyed books with a hint of danger. This one captivated me by blending billionaire romance with a sophisticated crime family empire. I appreciated that the author didn’t delve too deeply into the graphic aspects of a crime family’s world but instead focused on the son’s desire to leave that life behind. I’d definitely pick up another book like this in a heartbeat. An incredible read/listen by K.A. Tucker!
The more I think about it let's call it 3.5 rounded up. I enjoy the author's writing but this one for me got a bit tedious and the whole point was for Gabe and Caleb to get out from their father and that resolution wasn't at all satisfying. It was a like a bad firework- all this build up to nothing really.
The first 2 books where hard to put down. The third boom was good. But the last book took me a while to finish. I just got bored with it after a while and I kept finishing it in my head. So it was predictable by that time. Still a good read. The journey was was good. But the wolf hotel series was wayyyy better then this one.
Liked this entire series! Some books were better than others! Some parts had lots of detail but a few felt rushed and lacked detail! I’d have to give some books a 3 and others a 4!
Gabriel was a big softie from the start! But it’s Caleb that interests! He seems so much more complex? When are we getting his series?
K.A. Tucker has me in a very tight chokehold! I cannot get enough of her books. This story is just as spicy and dirty as all the others, but different in some ways. The change up from corporate billionaires to the Eastons was refreshing in a way! I truly wish her books would become movies!
Gabriel Easton bulldozed his way into Mercy’s life and heart, taking us all on a roller coaster ride. This series was action packed from start to finish.
This series was great! You need to read in order as each book ends on a cliffhanger. Gabriel and Mercy meet at visitors hours at the prison and their lives are twisted and turned in every direction.
I've read these books over and over and they never get old , amazing storylines brilliant characters. Unlike any story I've read before.Totally unique. Well worth more than 5 stars.
The book was a thrilling ride that I fully enjoyed. Took so many twist and turns and I enjoyed it all. The ended was great and wasn’t left on a cliff hanger. I would definitely recommend this series
Really loved the first two books, but idk I felt like the last two books were dragging. I didn’t like his pov sometimes and I love that he fell hard first and then she caught up. Idk why. But it’s okay
Well it took me almost a year to want to finish the series. I do enjoy this author’s writing style and find it highly readable but the story overall was meh. The last book of the series barely had any spice.
Going through my reading backlog and adding books I never rated. Read this whole series and gave two of them a 3 and one of them a 2 (via Audible), not sure what happened to the other one.
Family drama in a crime family. Luxurious settings.
I hope to see more book on empire would love a story Caleb and Marrick it was left with so many questions I hate it lol anyways over all good book I just hope to see books on Caleb he needs a good strong women
This series was even better than I expected. Even with four books, the storyline was solid and never felt overdone or stretched. Fantastic. And I love Gabriel. My goodness.
Could not put this series down. Enjoying KA Tucker's writing style looking forward to more books. Would recommend taking a look at the other series as well.
