She walked into his bar and straight into his heart… When Kinsey stumbles into his bar, fleeing her abusive ex-boyfriend, Sawyer's latent protective instincts stir to life. He thought he left that behind when an IED forced him to retire from the Rangers, but she makes him want to protect and cherish her. Taking her to his friend’s ranch is the best way he knows to protect her as he waits for his former unit to join them. They’ve all been torn up by the same IED, in more ways than one, but with Kinsey, Sawyer sees a chance to start to heal. Kinsey feels safe with him, and he’ll do anything to protect her.
I’ve had the privilege and the pleasure of reading several of Mia Caldwell’s books. And just like this one, her work speaks for itself.
I truly enjoyed reading this book as a Spring Break staycation, a little early, but still started. And I was not disappointed. This got to be one of the bestest salutes to veterans and recognizing some of their situations. The chemistry alone between Sawyer and Kinsey is a testament to just what an open mind, an open heart and an open door, could do. This is definitely one to read. Matter of fact, I’m looking forward to seeing who’s going to be next in the series.
Although this is not the first time that I have ever read anything from this author. I can honestly say, that it’s the first but not the last time I will comment on her BEAUTIFUL AND WONDERFUL WORK.

This book had me at the synopsis. And I was right in thinking this book was going to be amazing. I loved everything about Sawyer and Kinsey's HEA. It's a definite page-turner and will keep you engaged. I'm definitely going to check out this author catalog. Cause this book was 🔥🔥🔥🔥!
A short and sweet romance! When you find your person! When you know; you know! I liked the military aspect to the story! Brothers in arms all pulling for one another!
Great read, what weird is when a story seems like a real story you heard. I had 2 friends at different times they had boyfriends that acted like Jake. One of them had to call him to tell him where she was going, and the other one married her crazy, he never hit her but he sure was mental & verbal abusive. After he died she found out that he slept with their next door neighbor in their bed. These women didn’t have no one like Sawyer & Cooper and crew to have their backs. But I sure it would have been nice. I can’t wait to read the other guys story.
So, you're being chased by your crazed boyfriend. You find a temporary safe space. You and the guy don't think about safety and security first? Like, how about locking the door to the bar? How about checking for tracking devices? A couple of pages later after having this thought, I learned this guy's father is into security and tracking. She admits he has a tracking app on her phone. I thought of these things, but the authors didn't. Was it to give him a way into her space? Well the MFC and MMC are naive or I'm dense. I easily develop contempt for those lacking common sense. 7/4/24

from the first moment that he met her, he began protecting her. he put his life on hold and involved his friends in his plans, for a woman that he had just met from a psychopath ex. and in the short time, he fell in love with her. and she found the family that she needed and a new home.
I appreciate the brevity of the story. No issues with editing or grammar. Just wish the characters were developed a little more. How old are the main characters? How tall is Sawyer? Basic descriptions. Overall good story. I'll continue the series.
