Kaylea loves to hear from readers, so please feel free to drop me a line and say hello.
Man, oh man. Kaylea Cross is the supreme master of the action scene, always has been. I have never read a book by her that failed to deliver a hot romance, edge of your seat suspense and the most awesome actions scenes. I'm not a fan of the "Back from the Dead" trope and this book has not changed that opinion. However, I did enjoy this iteration, and I loved Warwick and Marley.
Marley Abrams had a miserable childhood when the responsibility for raising her twin younger brothers fell on her shoulders. As much as she loves her brothers, they were a big responsibility for a teen to take on. When she meets a man who rocked her world, she began to think that happily ever after may not be a myth after all. Until the day she is informed that Warwick James is dead. Trying to put her tragedy behind her and move on, Marley moved to Crimson Point and began rebuilding her life.
Warwick James is former SAS and MI6. A spy with secrets and when he came out of a coma and realized that Marley has been informed of his death, he decided that maybe that was for the best. But he couldn't leave it alone especially when he couldn't remember a lot of what happened prior to the explosion that landed him in the hospital. A sense of foreboding and danger began to haunt him, and he had to make sure that Marley was okay.
When Warwick sees Marley barely escape a drive by shooting, he can no longer remain in the shadows of her life. He is convinced that the shooting had to be related to the missing parts of his memory, but all he can do is protect her until he could figure out what is missing in his memory.
Having Warrick suddenly reappear in her life has Marley reeling and angry and so very glad he really isn't dead. But going into hiding with him in close quarters is more than her fragile heart can take. She always trusted him with her safety, but she can't possibly trust him with her heart.
Marley's brother, Decker, and the mysterious Teague have a one-night stand and,
Her 2nd chance stories are the best. I love the back from the dead trope and this guy was HOT. And for once, he never moved on during the year apart. It was only her for him. She did move on but she did think he was dead. No details just that she dated. I was a little disappointed. I like them both to abstain but I must be getting soft in my old age. This was a lot of action, a lot of great characters and just a terrifying read. I now have to go read the other books. I really think the Decker story is going to be good. That's her brother. I liked how she didn't forgive him right away and when everything hit the fan I think she realized why he did it. But I hate when one partner makes the decision for both of them. Oh well. Loved the ending.
What would you do if the man you loved but thought was dead stood in front of you? In Lethal Reprisal, that’s the dilemma that heroine Marley is dealing with. Years ago, Warwick and Marley had a whirlwind relationship, but there was an incident with his job and Marley was told he died. Lo and behold that isn’t true… but Warwick never feels as though it is safe to go back to her. Until he sees a her with friends of friends and he can’t stay away. His plan is to see, but not engage. But we all know what happens with the best laid plans… Life implodes for them both in ways that are not expected.
This third person story gives us multiple view points from different characters. This series is an interconnected in a way that the characters and the stories over lap, but I feel as though you do not have to read this series in order. However, you do get a better feel of the characters and their introductions if you do. Each story in the Crimson Point Protectors series follows a new couple and they get their HEA. There are some overarching themes, but each book has its own suspense element. This series has been up and down for me. It was engaging from the start, but there were some missteps in the stories for me in the way in which they played out. That being said. It’s an extremely well written cast of characters, and we get visits from the original Crimson Point heroes and heroines as well.
Lethal Reprisal gave me everything I want and need in a romantic suspense story that I don’t want to put down.
Lethal Reprisal is Marley and Warwick’s story and the last one in the Crimson Point series - you do not want to miss this one….it’s phenomenal❣️
Marley moves to Crimson Point to try and get over losing the one man she loved when she discovered he died. Unbeknownst to her, Warwick is alive and “well” but he’s keeping his distance from her as he’s missing memories as to what happened prior to the explosion that did indeed, almost kill him.
Getting a chance to visit with Walker and Ivy in Crimson Point, Warwick seeks Marley out to see how she’s doing. He has every intention of leaving without her knowing he was there, until someone drives by her home and almost shoots her😳 Not willing to risk that the message is meant for him, they go on the run.
Loved this story and got to find out more about our mysterious Marley and Warwick and how they met as well as getting an introduction to Teagan and Marley’s brothers😍I’m excited for what’s headed our way and I can’t wait to get stuck in. I received an advanced copy and willingly leave my honest review❤️
4.5stars-LETHAL REPRISAL is the eighth and final instalment in Kaylea Cross’ contemporary, adult CRIMSON POINT PROTECTORS erotic, romantic, military suspense series. This is former British SAS soldier Warwick James, and nursing home worker Marley Abrams’ story line. LETHAL REPRISAL can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
Told from several third person perspectives including Marley and Warwick LETHAL REPRISAL follows sixteen months after the disappearance and supposed death of our story line hero. Warwick James had met Marley Abram’s while vacationing in the Bahamas but a call to duty meant saying good bye to the woman with whom he was falling in love. A botched mission, and a call to Marley Abrams that Warwick had died meant Warwick had to time to ferret out the truth. Fast forward to present day, Warwick is desperate to reunite with the woman he loves but Marley is struggling with Warwick’s secrets and lies, lies that left Marley battling grief for over a year. All is not well upon Warwick’s return, and our couple find themselves a target of an unknown foe. What ensues is the rebuilding romance and relationship between Marley and Warwick, and the potential fall-out as more than one killer has taken aim at Warwick James.
The world building continues to focus on the small community of Crimson Point where the Crimson Point security find themselves always on alert, always in the middle of a take down, assassination attempt, or a kidnapping and attempted murder of someone they love. Lethal Reprisal introduces some of the next characters who will be up close and personal with their own stories including Marley’s extended family of half siblings.
The relationship between Marley and Warwick is a second chance relationship; a rekindling romance destroyed by the supposed death of Warwick James but a death that someone is desperate to ensure. Warwick’s life was destroyed the day his last assignment went all to h*ll but someone else was in charge, and Warwick believes he was meant to die. Warwick has never stopped loving our story line heroine but Marley Abrams is struggling the face of secrets and lies. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
There is a large ensemble cast of coloful secondary and supporting characters many of whom will be featured in the author’s new spin off series-CRIMSON POINT SECURITY. We are introduced to MI6 Agent Teagan Kim, as well as Marley’s half-brothers Decker, Gavin, and Tristan, as well as the return of Walker and Ivy (Fatal Fallout 5).
LETHAL REPRISAL is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, espionage and deception, forgiveness and love. The fast paced, character drive premise is intriguing, captivating and suspenseful; the romance is tender and intoxicating; the characters are spirited, determined and impassioned.
We are back in Crimson Point with another edge of your seat, suspense, hot romance by this talented author in this much loved series. This time, the story is a little different. The main characters are indirectly associated to the security group and therefore, not offfically part of the group. Marley Adams moved to Crimson Point after the man she met and fell in love with , had been killed in an explosion in London. At least that’s what she was told. Marley is still mourning him over a year later and when after a shooting at her house brings Warwick James, former SAS and MI6 operative to her home, she’s shocked. This is the man Marley thought was dead ! After a long hospital stay, Warwick has left the UK and come to the USA since he fears the memories he has lost about the explosion has put not only him in danger, but also Marley. As these two try to stay alive with the help of the Crimson Point crew, feelings intensify, though the trust issues are still there. Will they be able to survive whomever is after Warwick and now Marley as well? Will Marley be able to trust Warwick with her heart? If they survive, will they go their separate ways or will they find that together they are stronger this time around? Though a stand alone, I would highly suggest reading the previous stories, especially book 7 which belongs to Walker and Ivy, both whom have a part in this story. The author leaves the readers wanting to know what will become of Decker, Marley’s brother, and Teagen, the mysterious woman he has crossed paths more than once. Hopefully, the next will tells us . I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Marley has been morning her boyfriend for awhile now and still can’t believe that he’s gone. When she received a phone call saying he died on a mission she never thought she would be more shocked. Until she came home to her house being shot at and he was standing there asking her if she was ok. Warwick had a mission go bad….one that almost killed him. He doesn’t know exactly what happened or who was behind it. But he knows that Marley might not be safe and he will do anything to protect her. Marley and Warwick definitely have a connection that they both can’t deny. I really enjoyed them together. Wow was there a lot going on in this one. We had several layers that told a page turning story. Then we had several characters mixing it up and stirring the pot. Of course we had several Crimson Point regulars as back up and support as needed. This series never disappoints, we have the suspense we enjoy from this series mixed in with great banter. I enjoyed Meeting several new characters in this book and can’t wait for their stories.
Lethal Reprisal is the latest installment in the Crimson Point protectors series by Kaylea Cross. This is Marley and Warwick’s story. Marley Abrams has been told that Warwick, the man she fell in love with was killed in an explosion. She is rebuilding her life in Crimson Point when she is suddenly in for a shock! Warwick is alive ! From afar Warwick is watching over Marley but afraid to let her know that he is alive because of possible danger following him. He has a gap in his memory but knows that he must have seen something wrong during his last opp. He is passing by Marley’s house when there is a shootout and he barges in to protect her. Marley is understandably angry and upset that he lied to her. But because of the danger she is in she agrees to go with him to a safe house. That’s when the action and suspense starts! This book is absolutely brilliant! I loved the characters ! I received this arc from the author and this review is my honest opinion
I’m a long-time fan of romantic suspense books and Kaylea Cross. She writes edge-of-your-seat romantic thrillers I can’t seem to stop devouring. She’s on the short list of authors I 1-click without reading a blurb. With Lethal Reprisal, she brings the Crimson Point Protectors series to a close, taking us back to Crimson Point with an edge-of-your-seat second-chance romantic suspense. You *can* read it as a standalone title; however, there are some crossover characters and references to previous storylines that might leave you a bit confused. And it’s such a good book I can’t help but recommend you read the previous ones first if you think you’d like a more detailed backstory. This book was suspenseful, emotional, action-packed, and set up yet another spinoff series so intriguingly. As usual, I didn’t want to walk away from it until I finished. Lethal Reprisal is just one more reason among many that Kaylea Cross is a top favorite of mine!
MI6 operator Warwick James was gravely injured when the op his team was assigned to went terribly wrong. Believing someone was after him, he decided to allow Marley to believe he was dead to keep her safe. It wasn’t Warwick’s plan for her to see him but all thoughts flew out of his head when the bullets started flying. Imagine Marley’s shock when her ‘dead’ lover’s ghost appears right after she was involved in a drive by shooting. Not knowing if she is in danger because of his enemies, he is determined to stick to her until he finds out. She is just as determined to keep him at a distance until he discovers his enemies have caught up with him. Now all bets are off. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Firstly I preorder this authors books without reading the blurb. So you know I really like her writing/stories/characters. This book blew me away, meeting Warwick in book 7, Marley too in an earlier book in the series takes us on a ride of second chance but more. Danger is still following Warwick and having made choices that hurt Marley deeply can they get through the danger and find their HEA well I’m not going to spoil the story - strongly suggest you read in order, even reading The Valkyrie’s first for max backstory! You won’t be sorry if you love romance, alpha guys, strong women who bring them to their knees, military, secrets, action, suspense- yep all packed in each book you’ll be in the edge off your seat- enjoy!
Warwick and Marley. Second chance for sure, at love, at life, and at family. Marley has had small roles in several previous stories and a shown that she is a strong friend and now we see she is that and more with her fierce loyalty, skillset and love. Warwick was introduced in the last book and now we get more of his background, loss and current danger. His skill sets and character are fascinating and I hope we see more of him, Ivy and now Teagan. The way the community came together was wonderful and I loved seeing Ivy and Walker more. More new characters with Marley’s brothers has me hoping for more stories with all of them, but especially Teagan and Decker, plus other siblings!
For over a year Marley had been mourning the loss of Warwick James. Their time may had been short but their connection was intense and both fell hard for one another. Until one fateful day when Marley received a phone call to say Warwick had died during a mission. Trying to move one, Marley moves to Crimson Point and found a fulfilling job and made great friends. Blindsided again, Marley is in the shock of her life when bullets starts flying and the man she had been mourning bursts through her door.
Warwick James is a former SAS and MI6 operative who almost did die all those months ago. Even though there are pieces of that mission gone wrong he can’t remember, he knows there is danger surrounding him so he made the painful decision to let Marley go. When he had a chance to see how she was doing, without her knowing, he took that chance, until he realizes that Marley may now also be in danger. Now he knew he could not leave her again.
Right from the beginning Marley and Warwick’s second chance love story was non-stop action and suspense. They had a lot to get through but their connection was so strong, they made it through. Another great story in this amazing series.
This story was better then what I imagine. I’m usually not big on amnesia storylines but this one I enjoyed.
Merely, after putting herself back together she gets the biggest slap in the face when she see’s the man she love’s, the man she was told had died is alive and has been protecting her. I enjoyed that she didn’t just fall at his feet. That she was pissed off and was not afraid to show the MMC.
Just like any good Kaylea Cross books, you will find love, passion, mystery, danger, spice and a MMC that will make you swoon over him even when you know you shouldn’t. Also a FMC that is badass
This is a brilliant romantic suspense read. Marley has been grieving the death of the man she loved but when danger gets too close to her he reappears. Warwick has danger following him since he nearly died in an explosion but when it gets too close to Marley he knows that he has to protect her. She's angry but the love is still there but can she forgive him. As the danger gets closer they know that they have to work together to stay alive but can they both survive when the truth comes out. Full of danger and suspense and plenty of drama but can they get their HEA. A must read. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Marley had a fling with Warwick a year ago, only to find out he died not long after. Despite it called fling, both has real soulmate feeling that made Marley hit rock bottom after hearing about Warwick's death.
When Marley finally could put her pieces of life together again, Warwick come back from the dead. Apparently some top secret thingy made Warwick pretend to be dead, and something he forgot made him unsure to face Marley. Anyway, this is book about Marley's journey to fill her life again, and journey about Warwick finally find his way to Marley forever. Quite good!
It's also a contains some content for the next series.
Lethal Reprisal had me glued to my kindle. It’s a gripping story of lost love, longing, fear, strength and loss. Add in action, suspense and heat and you have a book that you just can’t put down. Kaylea Cross has a way of really getting you to invest in her characters and to feel their emotions. She perfectly includes old favorites while introducing you to new characters that make you yearn for their future stories. I love how Cross weaves her stories together and takes us on a full emotional, suspenseful journey. I can’t wait for the next book.
Lethal Reprisal is another excellent addition to the Crimson Point series. Marly is trying to work through her grief. She thought he was dead. But suddenly the man she thought she had lost forever is back in her life turning her world upside down again. There is danger threatening Marly and he'll do anything to protect her. They have a connection that can't be denied, but can Marly learn to trust him again? An amazing story full of suspense, danger and romance that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Kaylea Cross never fails to bring us an amazing story.
That was crazy!! She was told the man she busted started dating died in a explosion she grieved 4 a long x then out of the blue after a yr and a half, surprise!! He's back!! But is it 4 good or is it 2 make things happened... The past of his is coming after him but why? Read and find out who and what happens!! Even though he has alotttt 2 make up 4 will he get a chance or will he die b4 ever putting into words the rt feelings, etc. It was good it kept me bound on trying 2 figure out who and why 2 a few unanswered questions but I got that and more.
Marley thought Warwick died in an explosion over a year ago and has been trying to move on from him. Warwick let her be told he’d died to protect her from danger that might be following him. When he goes to glimpse her from a distance and she’s in a dangerous situation, he changes his plan and discloses himself. This is the last of the series, although there’s a teaser for the next series, but I’ll need to wait for more of those books to be published. In the meantime, I’ll miss them. I read the ebook. 4/5
Will Marley ever be able to come to grips with the death of her soul mate? It’s been 16 months and she just can’t move on. Her best friend Everleigh tries to help her but how do you ever move past what your future was. Warwick has been watching Marley ever since a threat to him is now a threat to her. What will happen if he has to walk back into her life? What made him let her think he was dead? This book kept me reading until the end and then wanting more.
Wow, I don’t know where to begin. From the start you ‘re in a roller coaster, going from one dangerous situation to another. Full of suspense, this is one of the best stories written . It’s written vividly she paints you a picture you just have to look. Marly is a strong woman and is a perfect match for Warwick. Together they can conquer anything. Unexpected twists are are leading to the next story. Love it.
If you've read the previous book, then you'll be guessing this book will be one to remember. We weren't wrong. Yet again I found myself captivated from cover to cover. What a journey these two have been on. Both past and present. This book has a bit of everything in it, but the gut punches of the enormity of the bigger picture and what occurred because of it are what will hit hardest. While this was a good book (as usual) I'm more intrigued by the mystery upcoming character.
I loved Marley and Warrick! Warrick made such a big impression on me in the last book in this series. He was such an unknown character when he popped up in the previous book. I was so excited to find out all about him and the one he let go. I love that Marley was already an established character in the series. The fact that she and Warrick were tied together by their past made this story so good. It was full of suspense and romance. Another must read for me by this author!
I don't know if there are enough ways to tell everyone how amazing this book is. I have read nearly all of Kaylea's books and this series is my favorite. This is Marley and Warden's story. I didn't want to stop reading it, brought together a lot of the characters in this series and hopefully there will be more book in this series about Market's brothers perhaps.
Wow! Kaylea has done it again. This is basically a second chance at love story. This one is about Marley and Warwick. Loved seeing Walker and Ivy as Warwick's back-up. The story turns very intense towards the end. Kaylea loves to keep you in suspense until the end. I am so happy that all turns out well and Marley gets a fantastic surprise at the end. FANTASTIC job Kaylea! I would recommend this book! I wonder, is Decker going to get a story?
Excellent book absolutely awesome so full of tension and suspense with plenty of emotion too. Really good reading as are all Kaylea Cross books. I recommend to everyone to read this series which is exciting and unmissable. Every book is fabulous I have read them all. Thanks
Not sure how you handle losing the man you love, thinking he’s dead, then he barges into your house! A few too many inconsistencies with Warwick wanting to stay away yet going back. He was a yoyo at times.
But true love wins after a scary dangerous battle. Will we get Decker’s story??
My rating 4 stars! As much as I enjoyed this book, this novel is starting to read like all the other novels in this series. For the last book in the series, it left a number of questions asked, but not answered. I would have to love the synopsis of the next book, before I would read another novel from this author
