When attorney and new author Solange Ritchie isn’t practicing law, you can usually find her penning her next legal thriller. Solange’s first psychological thriller, The Burning Man, featuring FBI forensic pathologist, Dr. Catherine (“Cat”) Powers will hit book stores on September 15, 2015. Published by Morgan James Publishing, The Burning Man promises to have you on the edge of your seat from the first page.

Born in the beautiful tropical island of Jamaica of a Jamaican father and a French mother, Solange immigrated to the US at age 11. Since then, she has been a dynamic force for change. Fed up with thrillers that start with a fizzle and longing to see more power women as lead characters, Solange decided to create her own characters. Despite the demands of a busy legal career, she accomplished her ambitious goal by rising each morning to write before work, dedicating her weekends to writing and even spending her vacation time writing.

Words have always been Solange’s passion. Now so, more than ever.

Dollycas’s Thoughts

Dr. Catherine (Cat) Powers has a new case. Someone is bombing so-called soft targets across the United States. The President wants the best of the best to end these bombings as quickly as possible. Cat is working with Special Ops and bombing expert Sam Patterson to do just that but first, they need more intel on the bombers and where they are getting their money, but while they are doing that more places are being hit and more people are dying.

Can Cat use her sixth sense to get ahead of the bombers? Will Sam’s special talents get the information they need? or will the bombings continue, taking more and more lives?

After reading Dying Declaration I couldn’t wait to read another book featuring Cat Powers. She is an enforcer with unique talents when on the job. She works through clues and runs toward danger while others are running away. But she is also a mom with a growing son that needs her. She hates to be away from him and he is now old enough to ask the hard questions and also let her know with his words and actions how much he needs him. Cat is also working through what would have been a very complicated relationship. In this book, she works with Sam Patterson, a Special Ops guy who is also tough as nails and a force to be reckoned with.

Again Ms. Ritchie has written a story with a lot of layers. The antagonists were complex and as their motives become clear they became even more frightening. They had to be killed or captured because they were not going to stop. The chase gave the entire story a very fast pace and the attention to detail made all the events crystal clear. From New York to Chicago and beyond the readers are put right on the scene.

Bomb Blast is an action-packed story that will have your heart racing while hoping that Cat and Sam will put an end to the chaos to not only save the world but so that Cat can get back home to her son.

I want to go back and read the earlier two books but Dying Declaration and Bomb Blast read well on their own. The previous books are referred to with just enough information to pique my interest to want to learn about Cat from the start.

In Bomb Blast, Dr. Catherine Powers, FBI forensic pathologist and special agent, is called in after two bombs explode in New York. Is this a terrorist attack? Before she know it, there is another bomb attack in Chicago. The president calls in Special Ops bomb expert, Sam Patterson to help Cat with the case. The reader is award that there are two Syrian born terrorists planning of wreaking havoc in the US and killing as many people as they can. They are funded by a very rich Syrian. They grew up in a small Syrian village where American troops went on a rampage, killing villagers and raping. This was payback in their eyes. Cat is the eyes and ears of the president and with every death, she feels like she is letting him down as well as all the Americans killed or wounded as well as their families. Will they find and stop these two psychopaths before there are more deaths?

Bomb Blast is the fourth book in the Dr. Catherine "Cat" Powers series. I have not read the first two books, but have had not problem jumping in at book #3. Cat is a character that has a great reputation for solving cases, she has a sixth sense. In this book we learn about the family trait passed down from previous generations. This was a heinous crime spree, with a lot of deaths and destruction. As I was reading this, I was comforted to think that in today's world, they would not have been able to bring suitcases into some of the places they went. This book had me on the edge of my seat and I could easily see this made into a movie. There was a lot of action, a little romantic tension, and a lot of destruction that all play out well in a movie. Cat's personal life is part of the story, but not a huge part. She talks to her son several times and has to calm him as he is afraid of what might happen to his mom. She thinks about maybe retiring from this career, but I don't think it will happen, she is too good at what she does. If you enjoy an action, adventure story with some death and destruction, but the good guys come out on top, then I'm pretty sure you will enjoy this one. It is well-written with great characters that captivated my interest from the first page. I recently read that the first book in this series has been optioned for a movie, so I can see this becoming a series of movies featuring a great character in Dr. Catherine Powers.

A terrifying case for Dr Cat Powers

Solar be Ritchie has crafted a truly terrifying adversary for her intrepid Dr Catherine Powers. A vengeful bomber is attacking large American cities and its up to Cat and Sam, her newest partner. With nothing but her brains and compassion, she and Sam are in a race to stop a terrorist with not http lose. A real rollercoaster as they chase the bomber and try to stop him before his final attack
