Everything in college sophomore Mila Kozak's life is picture perfect. She has an amazing boyfriend, Michael. Her relationship with her sister, Anya, is worthy of envy. Even her sport of choice—show jumping—is Instagram-worthy. All she's missing is Prince Charming. In horse-form, that is. But as Mila searches for the ideal horse, the rest of her flawless world begins to unravel. And she's left wondering if it was all that perfect to begin with. Set in the world of competitive show jumping, this novella peels back the filter of a picture-perfect life.
Tiffany was riding horses before she could walk. She's a five-time IAHA national champion and competed regularly at the Winter Equestrian Festival with her gentle giant, Obi-Wan. She received her Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the University of Tampa. This is her debut novel - an outpouring of her love for horses, and her love for love. She lives in Tampa with her middle-school sweetheart and her two wild and crazy sons.
Jump is the official first book in the series, but when I signed up for Ms. Chacon’s newsletter I received Off Course then. I downloaded it to my Kindle, and it got moved down the list. But when I finished my latest book and scrolled to look for my next one I saw this one and remembered that I wanted to read.
I knew it wasn’t the first book, but I decided to read it anyway. It’s a sweet story. I love horses, but I didn’t know anyone who had horses I could ride. There were rodeo horses for barrel racing that I rode on their small farm, but I never got very good at riding. The type of competition that happens in this series is very different from my experience. It boggles my mind over the jumps that are made.
The story between Mila and Michael has prepared me for their story in Jump. I’ve enjoyed the cultural references as well as the relationship between the sisters and Mila and Michael. I already have Jump and am ready to go!
I have always loved horses and reading about them, so this book was an enjoyable read. Anya and Mila Kozak are sisters who compete in equestrian show jumping. The story follows them in the ups and downs of competing and in their personal relationships with Mila's boyfriend, Michael, and a barn mate, Alex. The sisters are close but when tragedy comes into their lives, they are having trouble dealing with the aftermath. You will have to read the book to find out what happened and if they can overcome what happened. This is a prequel to Jump and I highly recommend it. This is a new author for me and I look forward to reading more of her books. I received a free copy and this is my voluntary and honest review.
This is a fantastic equestrian prequel with some great detail into competition. We are introduced to Mila, our main character, her boyfriend, Michael, her sister, Anya and her sweet groom, Alex. In this short prequel we have competition between the sisters, a breakup, tragedy and maybe a little romance. Learning a little more about herself as well as her boyfriend and sister, is it all worth it? How is it that the wonderful life she leads is not so wonderful after all. Can Alex pick up the pieces? And can she find her perfect horse? I love equestrian shows and competitions so this prequel was right up my ally as it is very well written! I highly recommend this prequel to get you into the first book in this series. The opinions here are strictly my own.
Prequel novella to JUMP. This introduces you to Mila, her sister Anya, boyfriend Michael and barnmate Alex. Mila and her sister have quite a competitive relationship that can cause a bit of tension between them. Mila also learns of a secret that adds to the tension. I recommend reading this before JUMP. It gives insight into the characters and their relationships before the novel.
I love the amount of character building Tiffany has accomplished in these stories and it made for incredible books.
I wished I had read this prior to reading Jump it gave alot of insight to the book Jump. I enjoyed the book but I had already realized alot of what was going on and what happened afterwards in the book Jump. I recommend reading this book prior to reading Jump as it does bring alot of clarity into the picture. Now I understand Mia's feelings alot better and why. I highly recommend this book and series especially if you are a horse enthusiasts.
If you love horses and show jumping then this prequel novella to the Equestrian Dreams series is for you. It follows the lives of sisters Mila and Anya, both showjumpers. Tragedy strikes and their lives are turned upside down, with both having their own demons they will need to face in order to be able to move on, if they can.
Its full of friendly sibling rivalry, jealousy, bit of betrayal, broken hearts, tragedy horses and slow burn romance with minimal spice.
This was awesome! I haven’t read a book with this much detail to the horses behind. I loved it. I love Mila. I’m ready to read Jump. This is an awesome start to the series. I’m not yo g F one of her sister. I’m not a fan of Michael either. Now Alex, he’s awesome. On to Jump!!
This novella offers a glimpse at Mila Kozak’s life before the events that take place in the first book of the Equestrian Dreams series. The reader is introduced to Mila’s obvious love for show jumping, fast horses and riding with her sister.
It’s very detailed. I learned a lot about training between the horses and writer. Very interesting. A close family of immigrants who are really close. They are both young ladies now pursuing their education and dreams of winning on their horses
This is the first book I read by this author and I enjoyed it so much I ordered book 2.Mila and her sister Anya both love horses and competing and their world is almost perfect until Anya has an accident and is seriously injured and their world seem to fall apart a very emotional read.
I chose this novella on another authors promo. This is my review.Mila and Anya are sisters that compete in horse racing. For the love of horses, nothing else matters. A fast paced,well-written story. A charming little story.Fun read!
I was shocked when I flipped the page and saw epilogue, but this really has me wanting to jump into the rest of the series. Mila is an interesting character and Alex at the end really caught me. More please!
A good prequel to start off the series. I enjoy Tiffany’s writing and love that she is a true equestrian, so all of the horsiness in her books is realistic!
I’m excited to get to know Alex more as she set it up for him to be a big part of the series.
Wow. This prequel novella packs a punch. The emotional turmoil, the angst, the longing, I felt it all. I can't wait to read the rest of Mila's story and see where life and love takes her.
This Novella is gripping. Last night i found myself reading it with one eye open before letting myself fall asleep. I just did not want to put it down!! I read the authors book JUMP first and I have to say, I think thats the way to go. I was so invested in the characters already and in reading Off Course, I felt like I was getting the inside scoop to things mentioned in JUMP that I really wanted to see (in my minds eye) played out. Easy quick read, very enjoyable characters. Highly recommend!!
If you are a horse lover this book will touch your horse loving heart. Mila and Anya go through a tragic event in their lives and it will change everything for both of them. I can’t wait to read the rest of this series.
Honestly I loved this book. As an equestrian, I rarely stumble upon a book about horses that really clicks with me. This one did, and I loved the length-I finished it in one night (at the time I needed a book like this, short and quick) and it was a total page turner and a MUST READ. For any of you looking to read a romance, tear jerking equestrian novel filled with accurate descriptions, you’ll love this book. Fully recommend, five star book!
This book or novella was very good. I actually read it twice my first time reading it, it wasn’t finished I got it from when I received my ARC copy of Jump. I loved it. What I loved about it is that it gave me a background before starting Jump, the novel set after its events.
