The area around greater San Francisco was suffering through a killing spree, but not your “run-of-the-mill” killing spree, this perp was different. He didn’t just rape and kill, he actually “staged” his victims in public venues, like they were works of art. The people around San Francisco were freaking out and wanted answers. Everyone’s favorite billionaire, Mr. Araby Triplehorn, stepped up to find a solution. That solution? A quirky private investigator from Arizona, who had received national attention from success on other major cases, Blake Moran. While some would say that his tagline left something to be desired, “We Find Stuff”, his success rate was impressive and inarguable. This serial killer was a unique problem for Blake, and the investigation would get extremely personal, but could he stop this perp and his killing spree before the perp stopped him?

I really enjoyed the first two books in the series. This time around, I was a little fed up with the copy and paste situation at the beginning of the book when the main character, Blake, is talking about his job, his office, etc. If you're going to rehash it, then rewrite it. Give us something new to read so it isn't boring. It was okay in the second book, but not the third one.
Then there were all of the "factoids" that were there to cover up the fact that this book was short on storyline. Compared to the first two books in the series, this one just felt like it was a slightly fleshed out storyline with a lot of trivia thrown in for filler. Blake was a lot less likable in this book, and his excessive use of the term "any-who" was just annoying.
I'm not sure if there is a 4th book in the series and whether or not I would be willing to read it. If there is, I sure hope more time and effort went into writing it. Also, if you're struggling for a storyline, how about flushing out Cindy Lou's story a little bit and telling us more about her cases?
I ended up giving this book four stars because I do like the premise of the series, and I enjoyed the debate on evolution.
Gosh I love these books. This is the 3rd in the series about Private Investigator, Blake Moran - his motto is "we find stuff".. With two successful cases down, he has been called by one of the richest man in the world, a billionaire, Araby Triplehorn.
In San Francisco, a serial killer, has killed five women and then staged them in public places. Araby wants to hire Blake as he has a daughter that fits the description of the women being murder and he wants Blake to find him. You will love Blake in this one, and it was fun to see what "car" he picked for the day. (Note, I had to look them all up!) Blake is working with FBI agents, local police and detectives to find the killer.
I love these books and now on to the 4th one. These books really get to me and by the end, I am usually "tearing" up. Great author!
DavieMAC has done it again! He weaves a great story with lots of humor and great values. He keeps the reader laughing and on the edge of his seat at the same time. And the whole thing is done without cursing, gratuitous sexual activity, and unnecessary blather! PLEASE GIVE US MORE BLAKE MORAN!
I have read all of the series, and they only get better as you go! In the first one, I struggled a little bit with the narrator’s style of talking to the reader. After a bit, I was totally used to it and expecting it! LOL. Good touch of thriller with God incorporated. It was handled very well!
Loved this book! Davies stories get better and better! I can’t wait for the next one, hurry up dude!!! Always keeps you guessing, has great sense of humor and I don’t mind the third person thing. Love to laugh with my mysteries!💕💕💕💕💕
Funny, can be a little foolish. Engaging, never want to put it down Informative, I learned things about the evolutionary theory that are not well supported by evidence Justice served.
Enjoyed another Blak e Moran adventure. Appreciated descriptions of his transportation choices and also what used to be a magnificent city. We feel bday stuff just discovered a million bucks. Enjoy this it Blake.
Up to now, I've enjoyed the logic and humor of the Blake Moran series. This one is where I stop. The overall atory was good, but I didn't expect to read so many vulgar words in a Christian Fiction book. They spoiled it for me.
I am very much enjoying the talent that this author displays.Looking forward to the next adventure! Thank you for the chance to fall into the story with twists ,some fun reading indeed!
Another great read full of humor and suspense. One thing that was a bit much is how much of the Creation vs evolution debate was in the book. I totally agree, but feel it took up too much of the book.
And again, there were a few times that Blake switched POV
In this book, the author tossed around a couple words that should not be in a Christian book. The female puppy dog word used for women in a derogatory way, and bastard used in a wrong way.
