Once again, we have a story where the protagonists meet and two days later they are completely in love, they cannot separate, Dorothy even says as soon as she is kidnapped that she 'belongs to Vorgath' There is nothing more boring than a romance book where They don't work on the relationship.
There is no world building. Nothing. Zero. There is not even a world in which it can be built. Dorothy arrives in the most random and lazy way with the ogres but it is as if she has moved to the next town. There is a castle, yes, the author tries to put them in a kind of medieval world, but she stays at that, in a poor attempt where everything works in the normal world. I don't know if it's because the writer hasn't done any research to give the feeling that she is in another world, but she hasn't even tried to make an effort to give them cultural differences or something similar. When Dorothy is kidnapped and dreams that she is returning home, she describes a perfectly normal wedding, with a white dress, vows, and even reception. And while I was reading I kept wondering, am I really reading a book with monsters?
Dorothy just waits, waits to get married, waits to be rescued. Waiting for someone to do everything for her.
I don't know, I'm quite disappointed with the book in general, at the end it was super rushed, as if the author needed to finish the book NOW.
With people coming out of nowhere who die shortly after showing up (because they have no reason to exist) and that ending that in theory had to be very dramatic but that went so fast that you barely realized what was happening. Too bad.
