Fresh off their fiasco at the Xeno Xoo, Geddy and the crew are leaders in the New Alliance. But until they find the Zelnad base, there's nobody to fight. Given the sorry state of the fleet, that's probably a good thing.
Renewed hope comes in the form of an eccentric loner who may hold the key to separating Zelnads from their hosts. The only teeny, tiny problem is that he can't seem to do it without killing both of them.
When a simple favor for his old girlfriend takes an unexpected turn, Geddy learns a hard lesson about what they're up against. Before long, he finds himself in a sticky situation with his ex, and not the fun kind.
A daring escape puts Geddy and the crew in even greater danger. Will their powerful new allies help win the day or is the battle for civilization already lost? Find out in Fleet Feat, a thrilling, funny, and emotional continuation of the Reassembly series.
I write cinematic sci-fi of substance. What does that mean?
My love of writing came from reading, of course, but my love of story really came from movies. Expect smart characters and short chapters that move along at a cinematic pace. I like intricate, plausible stories that reward careful readers without alienating those who just want to kick back and escape this messed-up world for a while.
I currently have two series: Reassembly, a humorous space opera with six books, and a dystopian trilogy, The Cytocorp Saga. I expect to release the first book in a new sci-fi series sometime in mid 2026.
I currently live in Ecuador.
When I'm not writing page-devouring science fiction, you can find me thinking about it.

Another chapter in this Humorous, sarcastic, escapist, entertaining journey through a dysfunctional galaxy full of ridiculous characters. The whole story is a fun page turner that will help you escape our crazy world for a bit.
CPJames continues to impress me with the story line and the many characters. There is always an undercurrent of humor as well as some sage wisdom regarding people's need to find value in their actions.
As far as he knew, Geddy was the only person in the galaxy, and maybe in the history of the universe to be in this situation.
OK, that loud, galaxy-spanning scream you heard was me voicing my - well, not displeasure but let's call it significant and well-practiced cantankerousness - at finding out at the end of "Fleet Feat" that this is NOT the last chapter of the "Reassembly" series. Yes, part of me is of course very happy that we'll eventually get more but … Look, I tried to do my due diligence but didn't find any mention of it NOT NOT being the last chapter on any of the author's public forums. And yes, admittedly it can be an annoying tic of mine - especially for said authors - that I try my best not to get too deeply into series unless all books are on hand. It's not a deal-breaker, no, but I do tend to obsess a bit when I find an author or story-line that strikes my fancy! Oh well, I guess that just means at some date in the near future, I'll have to re-read "FF" to reacquaint myself with all the players and new developments (I'm old dammit!). C'est la vie (I'm old and I speak French dammit!).
This galaxy’s destruction is imminent. A fait accompli. All we can do is make the most of it.
Anyway, "Fleet Feat" is more than a worthy addition to the series. I think I liked Book 4 - "Xeno Xoo" (or "Xanadu" as my brain keeps singing) - a tad bit better but there was certainly nothing here to change my mind about sticking around until the Universe and all civilization is finally destroyed. Oops, that might be a bit of a spoiler, huh? Well, certainly no worse than informing the general public that things will be continuing. There's some real moral conundrums here, so do what you will with my comments. Either that or read my amazon input as they only accept essentially reviews that say "Me enjoy, book good, buy more stuff." No seriously, I think Voprot is in charge of English submissions in my region.
It is more difficult to help civilization evolve than to foment its collapse.
Moving on to an actual review (hush!): as mentioned, I felt like this chapter was not a let-down from the previous one but definitely for me not on the same xumptuous (hee hee) level as our last rodeo - and if you've read it, that can be taken in some parts as being quite literal. After the high of "XX", "FF" starts off a tad slow and takes it's own sweet time getting to any real action. Sure, we have some Alliance building bits and a few meetings to attend. But I'm a lot like Verveik and not just in girth, meaning I'm also not crazy about meetings. Still, once it does get going, author C.P.James makes up for lost time and really gives us a good run for our money. The "Fight for Earth 2" as well as "Tatiana's Motivational… Speech?" will both go down as classics when all is said and done!
Zelnad destroyers emerged from the towering clouds over the facility like cloaked heralds of death.
Unfortunately, there are some minor to even low major editing hiccups again. Like I mentioned before, I think we're having some copy/paste issues during the check phase(s). This typically (not with just this author but for any) shows up as missing or wrong words in the oddest places where you can imagine someone searched for a better word or a better way to say something. For example: "Not to mention a couple extra coats of guilt for his role in making the planet inhabitable." Um… no. You get what should be there but it's not there and well, it should be. Whatever, right? Hey, but look at all the emotional situations and growth of some of our characters (waggles finger wildly)! Gotta give kudos and/or turkey on rye sandwiches to everyone for those, right? Yes, with mayo, too, we're not barbarians here...
To pack a bag, board a starship, and arrive at your destination one point three parsecs away before your seat warmed up was bonkers.
But fun stuff! This series is really jumping ahead (ooo, relevant mention that) and there's no telling how some of the most recent reveals will turn out. I mean, looking back again at what all went on whenever Tatiana graced our pages, I did not see ANY of that coming! And yes, there's a really fapping good entendre in there, see if you can spot it! See you in Book 6 one day fans! And hopefully sooner rather than later!
Of the 5 books that I have read so far This 1I feel Is probably my most favorite It finally unites all the characters Underwater under 1 goal Though though they don't realize it at 1st they finally come to Put it together at the end Thank you thank you for allowing me to review a fine novel Keep incoming
Slightly above average read. Like almost every other ebook I've read over the past 10 years it could use a more detail oriented proof reading. This has some odd twists and turns, but they make it more entertaining. May be a few weeks before I read the next book in the series.
4.5stars story keeps getting deeper and plot reveals are even more surprising! pg-13 to r-rated humor, bombs dropped a few times but not overdone. A well-written cheesy space opera. Entertaining as all he...ck.
