World After: An Ending World Novel is book 0 in The Ending Legacy by Lindsey Pogue and Lindsey Fairleigh. The Lindseys are back together again! Have you read their series, The Ending? When I read that series, I was completely immersed, lost in the world they created. Now it’s 285 AE, 285 years later, After the Ending.
Princes Delphinia (Del) is the only heir to Queen Corisande, Queen of the Corvo Kingdom. She is eighteen years old. Del’s closest friend and lifelong companion is her raven, Sid. The castle is getting ready for the Bicentennial celebration. Del will be forced to choose a future husband to continue the royal line. Only Del has been hearing whispers. Whispers telling her she needs to look closer, she needs to see what is really happening. The whispers lead her on a journey of horrific discoveries that reveal what kind of queen her mother really is. They also lead her to Fin.
Finley (Fin) Cartright lives in a small village outside the kingdom. They live free, or as free as they can be while they are continuously forced to hide from the guards of Corvo. Their luck finally runs out and they are found. Now Fin is the only one who can save the man who has been a father to him most of his life, the man who leads their village. But in order to save him, he and his companion, a cougar he calls Beast, have to go to the Corvo Castle. His only hope is that he makes it out alive and will see his home once again.
This is a story of courage, discovery, destiny and perhaps the possibility of love. Fin was dedicated to protect those he loved, the man who raised him, and his village. For Del, it was more the journey to right the wrongs of her mother, of setting her kingdom back on the right path.
I wasn’t prepared for the emotions I would feel while reading this. I had such a strong connection to the characters in The Ending series. The memories shared in this book, the ties between these characters and the original ones. My eyes watered. It really took me by surprise. This was just the introduction to this new world. Now I can’t wait to see what comes next. I’m so happy the Lindseys are back together.

It's time for the Bicentennial Celebration to celebrate the rule of the Corvo Dynasty. Only the purest and most noble families will attend. Life is a far cry from the world the Patrons saved. The Corvo Queen and every other queen before her are empaths like Zoe but that's the only trait they have in common. This queen is known as the Blood Queen, a cruel, heartless woman. Her daughter Princess Delphina isn't interested in the Celebration. She's trying to discover her mother's secret to silence the whispers in her head. Finlay Cartwright is a tracker and now he's tracking the only father he's ever known. A ghost of a man who is wanted by the Queen. Their people have always been hunted and even now live hidden amidst the forest. He knows the truth of the originals and their world. He knows the ruthlessness of the queen and her rangers. But his beliefs are challenged one dark night by an argumentative girl with inky black curls and the loyalty of a raven.
The Ending series is my favorite dystopian series. I love the Lindseys. Obviously, I couldn't wait to get my greedy hands on this book. My goodness. I don't even know how to review it without spilling secrets. But don't worry, no spoilers here. The world-building and history are incredible. It's a new world, based hundreds of years after Herodson was taken down by Dani, Zoe, Jason, Jake, and the other originals. The world has changed, some history has been twisted, yet much still remains. Del is a worthy heir to Dani and Zoe. She's strong and thoughtful. Fin carries some of Jake within him. The side characters are all developed and Sid and beast are characters in their own rights. The threat to humanity is as valid as Herodson. This story is intelligent and entertaining. Del and Fin have the potential to become the heroes this version of the world needs. I haven't made up my mind about them yet as a pair. Dani and Jason set the bar high for love. Del and Fin remind me more of Zoe and Jake, a solid partnership and great affection. I am hopeful as their story develops they become a fierce, unbreakable couple. This story sets the stage for the future. I can't wait to see what happens next.

This author duo is completely in tune with each other and it shows in their writing! I was hooked on these 2 from the first chapter of The Ending Series. And they do not disappoint with this first book in The Ending Legacy!
Just from the prologue, I couldn't put this book down! Jake, an original healer in the new world, knows something isn't right when the hunting party doesn't return, and he's not wrong. This beginning leads you to the story of Del and Fin. Del, a sheltered princess, finds who she truly is and what her purpose in life is, with the help of Fin, all while saving the life of Jake from Del's mother the horrendously monstrous queen. They experience distrust and trust, anger, adventure, excitement, drama, and finally love. I don't write details of the story, you need to read the book for those.
And Beast is my favorite! Especially since I know where the name comes from! You 2 have created another masterpiece! Can't wait for the continuation!

Amazing !
Being a fan of The Ending series I've been waiting for more and World After did not disappoint !!! From the prologue I was hooked and ate this up in an afternoon. Del and Fin are hilarious and I can't wait to be part of their next adventure !!!

Jake was very old, but he didn’t look like it because he was a healer, and as such, his body healed itself of everything, including old age. On the other hand, Fin was a telepath and could talk with animals or share their senses, and of course, he could read humans. He looked up to Jake like a father since his father was dead. But Del was the Queen’s daughter and the appointed heir to the crown. She was the youngest of four daughters. Her older sisters fell to assassins leaving her, the surviving daughter, and she did not get along with her mother. She was a telepath also, like her mother, but her gift was different. Del needed to touch the person to be able to read them, but she could also control them, unlike her mother. Her mother was also a telepath, one of the strongest ever known, and she sent a message to Jake through Fin. There was no mistaking the message, and while Jake gave himself up to protect their village, Fin had the mind to rescue Jake from the Queen. Along the way, he met a young woman who was Del, but he did not know it at first.
I loved the world-building that went on. It gave me visuals whenever I needed to figure out what was happening. The character’s backgrounds were filled in enough to know their motivations, and their interactions were thus believable.
This fantasy tale is definitely dystopian, with plenty of action and an enemies-to-lovers romance. I give this telling five stars out of five stars.

I didn't read the The Ending Legacy series, but I grabbed this novella because I thought it would be a light introduction.
The world ended three centuries earlier but nothing seems to have improved as time passes. Finlay Cartwright is a telepath (animals) with a strong dose of otherworldly talents that he keeps quiet. Del is the heir and princess of Corvo City who is also a telepath (non-animals) with a host of other skills that most people shouldn't know about. Together they work together to free Jake an original Healer and to discover what the Queen is working on in her secret prisons.
I put this book at the young end of young adult. The characters are late teens and mid twenties. The magic is interesting but not all that unique. The setting is typical (good guys hiding out in the jungle, the city harbors the mindless followers of the queen). The book characters have stayed with me and it was just a pleasant read.

So much more than just a prequel!
I was excited to hear that there would be a spin-off from the original Ending series and was not disappointed with the action and story that jumps right off the pages. Del and Fin are fantastic characters, each growing up in very different worlds, which is fantastically brought to life by the Lindsey team. Although it is a spin-off to the original Ending series, it is not the same type of story. This series is set 100s of years after the original series, there are references to the 'beginnings' but you don't necessarily need to have read the original series. Here, abilities have evolved and a new civilization and way of life has been established, a little rougher and more dangerous than the world before the apocalypse. I am impatiently looking forward to the next book!

Craving more
Ahhh these authors never cease to amaze me with their words! I’m craving so much more of this spin off series!! This tiny taste doesn’t do it justice!! The ending series has always been one of my favorite and i can thoroughly say when i read one name in the beginning of this story my mouth DROPPED!! Well done ladies and i cannot wait to read more!!

Interesting!!!!
So it was a little slow at first because I had to figure out who these people were and how they fit in with our beloved Characters from the Ending Series... it only took like 2 chapters to figure it out.. I loved the glimpse back in time.. I loved finding out about Jake.. I now can’t wait for the next book!!

review of “World After” an ending world novel
A really enjoy the Lindsey’s books. This one is no exception. Their characters seem so real and human. Their abilities add an extra level of interest into their people. My only complaint is that it was too short. I look forward to the next book 👍

If the purpose of this book was to get me amped to read Raven Queen…mission accomplished! 🤣
I really loved this introduction to the World After series and I need to know what happens to these characters! I loved Del; she’s so strong and brave and refused to let her mother’s heinous actions go unchecked, even if she knew she was rocking herself to do it. Fin is an absolute darling and I loved how loyal and determined he is.
I also love the idea of this world, where everyone’s powers lie within their minds. It’s such a cool concept and I’m looking forward to see these powers in use in the next book!

This book certainly caught my imagination
This story is exciting, interesting, and very creative. I love the fact that the people have various psychic abilities, and use them freely. I also love all the unexpected events which happen because of this. Such a wonderful book, and I can’t wait to read others in the series!

Fantastical Dystopian Romantic Adventure!!!
Blending the genres of Dystopian, Romance, & Fantasy is an addictive THRILL!!!:-). Cannot say enough about how much you will ADORE this book and these authors!!!:-). Already in love with these new characters both human and animal!!!:-). Cannot WAIT to see where this journey leads in this series!!!:-). LOVED IT!!:-)

3 and a half really
I love the ending series but this book has too many unanswered questions. What happened in between Zoe and Dani up until you get to in and del time. Where are Zoe and Jake's descendents. Just too many unanswered questions.

This is really excellent! Almost a complete change of characters & setting, well into the future! A really well written & super enjoyable start to what I believe will be a brilliant follow on series! I do recommend! A great escape!

There is hope in the world after
I love the redwoods. So a hidden village within is a great feeling. The atrocities in the city and how we find the horrors are an adventure 2 young people come to respect one another.

The story continues
It's not one of my favorite books within the overall ending series. It kind of dragged at times, but overall, a fun read that continues what to me is a beloved story, and I enjoyed catching glimpses of some of the past through Jake's memories.

What a great surprise. I enjoyed this novel very much. It was a delite to meet Fin and Del and be with them on their first adventure.

I really enjoyed this journey. I enjoyed the world building that the Lindsey’s have created. I really like the idea of having abilities and how each of them has different abilities.
I love Del and Fin’s character. I love their familiars Sid and Beast.
The World After is a unique dystopian world with star crossed romance with a hint of fantasy. I wasn’t expecting this to be dystopian because I just dove right in, but, I really enjoyed this one ♥️ I can’t wait to learn more about this world.

Centuries have passed since the world as we know it ended, but, the new normal has gone on, harder, stranger and yet, still filled with love, duty and honor, and secrets, many of them dark.

I'm a huge fan of The Ending series so getting more this world is so exciting!
It usually takes a bit to warm up to new characters, but not this time especially when one of the characters is very familiar from the The Ending Series. I was hooked right away and can't wait for more from Del, Fin and Jake.
This story takes place many years after The Ending series and focuses on descendants of our favourite characters from the past plus a princess of the new Corvo Kingdom. The princess, Del, is expected to choose from several suitors she has never met and settle down to carry on ruling the kingdom just as her mother, the Queen, has done for many years. The problem is Del doesn't agree with the way her mother has ruled and suspects there are many things she won't be able to live with once they're uncovered. On the eve of the Bicentennial celebration, where Del will meet her suitors, she meets Fin and together they discover the horror her mother has been hiding. They also discover a connection between them.
I look forward to whatever comes next in this story! So happy the Lindseys are writing together again!
