Monsters of Gods #1

Medusa's Curse

Rate this book
Destiny is a fickle thing, you never know where she might take you.
For instance, I didn't expect her to fulfill my wildest dreams. I should have expected it all to be ripped away.
I'm not that lucky.
When I washed up on Hade's doorstep, well, his private beach to be more accurate- all I could think about was my next breath. I wasn't expecting seven gorgeous men to rescue me.
They welcome me into their home (mostly) and their lives, and for some, even their hearts.
Did I mention fate is a fickle bitch?
Just when I thought I had it all, she takes it away from me again. What she doesn't understand though, is that I'll fight for what's mine, and these men...
MINE!

Medusa's Curse is a Greek Mythology with modern twists filled to the brim with monsters of legen, and with spice the level of a ghost pepper. It has fated mates and incredible creatures. Medusa's Curse is a Paranomal Romance Why Choose/ Reverse Harem book not suitable for anyone under the age of 18.

Josslyn Leach brings us this amazing book to read Medusa's Curse. I had no idea how this was going to go until I read it. So lets meet Medusa. Now she is the sweetest person, can talk to animals and all out just an amazing person. She has a best friend whose name is Titus. Everything seems to be going good and then all of a sudden poops hits the fan. Oh my word does everything go south. She ends up on an island and meets some new people. Here is the kicker Hades, Everett, Cooper, Ace, Kyrell, Octavius and Garen feels something for her. She finds out that something was done to her and she needs to pick up and move on. She realizes that she is no longer who she was. She needs to figure out what she is going to do. Now being around these men seem to be challenging for her. These men are having a hard time trying to stay away from her. Then Titus shows up and she meets another guy named Slade. Like seriously Medusa how did you get so lucky. I may be a little jealous. Anyways the story takes another couple of twist and turns and leaves you with this huge cliffy. Things are about to get crazy and I cannot wait for the next book in this series.

"I’m done with my monster trial now, I’d like to unsubscribe and never experience a heat again."

OMG, I totally loved this. What an incredible start to this series. The characters were extremely likable. I swear, she was so relatable.

"Tacos, we are having taco Tuesday!!! It’s Thursday Medusa. Well then we are having taco Thursday."Medusa is definitely my spirit animal.

In all honesty, it seriously gave me Lore Olympus vibes, except it's more for adults. The world building was fantastic and it's a shared world. We also get a glimpse into Payne Craven's Cyn's Awakening story. I'm totally vibing with this and can't wait to read more

I received an ARC and voluntarily gave my honest opinion and review

Nose plugs

In addition to misspelled and misused words, repeated syntax errors, and multiple grammatical mistakes, there is something disturbingly high school about the characters made yet more creepy by obscenely graphic depictions of 7+ people all having sex together. There is no character development to speak of nor is there a plot.

For the life of me, I do not understand why so much parafiction is RH. Despite starting with 7 men, the author quickly added 2 more giving Medusa responsibility for 9! men, taking RH to a very sticky new low. All of the men are constantly having sex with one another, thinking about sex with one another, or talking about sex with one another while Medusa does other things with her lone female friend.

Truly, all I could think about is that the entire house would have a permanent fug of farts and feet and bodily fluids. I hope Medusa never needs a black light for anything ever.

Absolutely fantastic read!!!

I absolutely love and adore this this revamped version of Medusa's Curse. It's a fun and funny take on the gods. The FMC is empowered by the people around her and the battles she faces. The men who love her are strong and possessive sticky sweet cinnamon rolls. I loved every minute of it!!!

Medusa's Curse

I really enjoyed reading this. A different story of the Greek Gods, Goddesses and monsters. Its a very easy read and before you know it you'll have finished book 1. I really loved the connection that Medusa had between herself and her men and how she accepts what has happened and doesn't dwell on it but moves forward I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

Medusa's Curse was captivating. I loved how the author drew me in and held my attention from the start.
The setting for the story was rich and full of details that had me picture it in my mind.
The characters, they were off the charts! I loved how the author is able to keep you clear with who they are and used them to tell the story with a wonderful multi POV. I really like all the diverse characters and felt so much joy reading this book.

Medusa -a bullied goddess who is cursed and thrown away, only for fate to step in and take her to her mates. (yes mates... As in 9 of them!) Steamy mm scene and sexy inner dialogues with the promises of more to come. Medusa learns that things aren't as she was taught and with the help of her mates accepts the changes in her life.
A nice quick read that was fun to read.

I love this take on Medusa!

I love this author’s take on Medusa and other various monsters! I can’t wait to read more in the next book. Yes there were some grammatical and punctuation errors, but it didn’t take from the story in my opinion. (I don’t understand how someone can rate a book so poorly just because of some errors. Writing and publishing a 173-paged book is a pretty big deal and unless you’ve done so yourself, I feel like you need to just sit down and shut up). I loved Medusa’s harem and all her guys. I can’t wait to find more about them as the series continues!

I loved this retelling of Medusa and her curse. I feel like the author gave back strength to the traditional story of Medusa.

This is a why choose story that starts off with Medusa living in the Evercrest forest all carefree and caring for nature. She is the other gods are forced to go to Hera's birthday gathering. Its at this birthday gathering that she ends up cursed and thrown into the ocean. She the awakes in Zakynthos, finding a mansion filled with gorgeous men. So she begins to learn how to control her new nature and live with her 10 mates.

This book has MM, FM and FF. There is also friends to lovers and some form of enemies to lovers. On a spice level I give it a 1.5. This book does end on a serious cliff hanger.

Love the idea

I really like this book however, there are a ton of editing errors, misspellings, grammatical issues. This book is more of a rough draft. I love the idea of monsters and a female lead but the book falls flat. There’s no real depth it’s a very linear plot. Medusa walks into an already made harem and everyone she meets falls to their feet. I just need more depth, everything comes too easy. There’s not a lot of follow through. There’s no real reason explained on why she’s learning to fight except that “you should always learn to” so it was random they’d have training scenes.

She had a great disclaimer that the book was going to go off the beaten path and that she tied in other mythologies and made up some of her own, but she never had enough depth and description to make you see where her creativity was going with it. There’s not enough setting and there’s not enough plot. This is a new reimagined world that I didn’t have enough info to be immersed in.

I really really wanted to love this book, but it needs a little more love put into it, This is coming from a place construction, not attack.

This book has so much potential I really enjoyed it to begin with midway through I was surely there’s got to be a limit to how many can be in a bonded group? How am I going to remember all these men?😅 there’s 10?!!!

•Medusa retelling
•Reverse Harem
•Cursed
•Gods and Goddesses
•Magic
•Familiars/Mythical creatures & Plants
•Fated mates
•Monsters

I thought this was quite a unique read I’ve never read about Krakens & Gargoyle shifters before. Each mate/bonded seem to all have different gifts. The monsters are good and the gods are evil👀

First off love how she is unapologetic about everyone loving everyone, polyamorous, which means there is MM action. I for one am all for it and is my favorite read. This book has great creatures and the gods/goddesses from the authors imagination not from what lore tells us. This is a reverse harem, why choose with 7+ mates, friends to lovers, fated mates, jealous mean girl, oh and don’t let me forget special body parts and piercings!!!! Let me tell you there is some very spicy scenes and I’m so looking forward to more! Ends on a cliffhanger.

This is not your average Medusa story, and it's wonderful. She is an absolute breathe of fresh air. I loved seeing her come into her own in a new way. With a RH of this size, there is a LOT going on...but you definitely get a good sense of who each character is, and what they all are to each other. It's a good mix of fast and slow burn spice. A great read for fans of spicy fantasy & magic. Can't wait to see what happens next!!

DNF 40%. The idea was fun. Between the editing errors - we're talking whole paragraphs repeated multiple times, not just grammatical stuff - I walked out when one of the men suggested his favorite book was the Never King by Niki St Clair. It was hokey before that. Idk about 9 men to one woman. That's... a lot.

Very good start to a series. Really interesting characters and good world building. Super steamy with some romantic parts. Some very amusing dialogue and inner musings keep it lighter and fun reading. Looking forward to seeing where this goes in future books. Highly recommended.

Life is too short to force yourself through a bad book. I tried to make it through this, I truly did! Especially since it is so short. However, I simply could not overlook the haphazard story that made little sense with even less background. I kept thinking that maybe there was a sequel I was missing. I have no problem with pure smut but this was smut with the feeble attempt at a plot that was hard to follow. Horrible writing. I just could not. What I cannot comprehend is all of the 5-star reviews on this atrocity. Thinking fake accounts or bots.
