After the death of a friend at the hands of demons, Genesis Green lives and breathes a single Vengeance. Still under the watchful eye of Seth, her Guardian, Genesis now works with those who protect her. The goal? To minimize or undo the damage the Diabols are inflicting upon her seaside town. But Genesis, the hunter, is also desperate to find Viola—to make her pay for what she’s done. When the Guardian Council discovers Genesis is serious about taking Viola out of this world, they send Mara, a warrior, to help her prepare. But with her visions growing increasingly unreliable and her behavior more reckless by the day, Seth is finding it more and more difficult to keep her safe, especially from herself. When a single act of violence threatens to separate Genesis from Seth forever, she'll face the most painful decision yet to save the Guardian she loves or risk losing the one thing that matters most. This wasn't a bad read. I was happy that I was able to have an idea about what was happening. It's been 3 years since I read the first book. Genesis deserved better than the mother she had. Thankfully she had Carter to help her. It will be interesting to see how things all play out in the last book.

OK this series just got good. So far each book has added more mystery. About 3/4 of the way through the book, I realized it had a Edward, Bella, Jacob love triangle going on. The supernatural guy (Seth) who fell in love with the girl (Genesis) who is always in some kind of danger. Then the best friend/old boyfriend (Carter) who is also in love with her and works with supernatural guy to keep her safe. Her relationship with Seth is nearly an impossible situation and it makes more sense for her to be with Carter, but she continually makes comments that she has chosen Seth and it has always been Seth. Oh yeah, and there is a red haired girl out to get her! But despite the similarities, I still really liked it and I have no idea how it is going to end.

I'm really conflicted about the love story. I've grown to like Seth more in this book and I hate that the ending for him sort of seems doomed. I just don't see how he can ever really be in a "forever" relationship with Genesis despite their constant "I love you, forever" thing. That makes me feel so sad for him, I want him to be happy. But I also REALLY like Carter, and I want him to end up with Genesis. He can take care of her and give her the life her mom couldn't. My heart just breaks for him in some scenes. One scene in-particular comes to mind.

"Thank you for doing this," I tell him, returning what's left of the sodas to the refrigerator. "It's just what I needed."

"Well, it goes without saying," he says, reaching around me to put away the ketchup and mustard bottles, "that I'd do whatever I could to make you happy."

He stops, standing almost on top of me, his eyes burning into mine.

A slow, embarrassed heat creeps to my cheeks, the cool air from the fridge raises goose bumps on my arms.

"You were always too good to me, Carter."

He shrugs. Tears his eyes from mine. A small, defeated laugh. "And, somehow, I'm still not enough."

:( Poor Carter.

I can't wait to read the last book, because I really have no idea how this ends. It seems like such an impossible situation. I want happy endings for all of them, but both of them can't end up with Genesis. So I'm stumped. I'm really happy with this series so far, and I've only spent $4.00! Can't beat that with a stick.

This book was full, it seemed to be packed full of so much information, and so many things happened in this book. First off I love the new relationship Gee has with Carter, that they are best friends. I like that her and Selena have become friends and that Joshua is still around, and of course the loving, sexy Seth is still with Gee. I hate that Gee is so set on Vengeance it seems to make her a different person at times, and it affects her relationship with Seth which breaks my heart. I find it interesting how they introduce Mara into the picture, at first this worried me I thought great it is going to be someone trying to take Seth away from her but she ends up being a friend and one that is greatly needed at the end. I loved the short normal time Gee and Seth got to have together at the carnival even though Gee ruined it in the end. The one main thing that happened in this book was terrible, I could not believe this happened after everything she did in book 1 and then this happened, ugh. I did not like what was happening to Gee, and her mind, how weak she was. I am glad that later we find the real reason of why this happened. What the council of the Guardians did to her in the end was horrible and I still don't understand. Then the end comes and my heart is split wide open and I cant stop crying, man I need to read book 3 right away.

This book was... weird... And not good weird... Even though it had the same structure as the first one and I did like the short chapters the writer used in The Guardian, in this one, it felt like there were parts missing from the story and the chapters weren't enough... I don't know... Even though I liked the story and it goes on okay from were it was left in book 1, I can't put my finger on what is wrong with it... I've already started reading book 3, so maybe the sequel was just that, a sequel, in order for the series to be called a trilogy, but I really can't understand what's that I don't like in it...
Anyway, as far as the plot goes, I'm satisfied, it is okay, there are surpsises and suspense and the story starts (slowly) making sense, but not a lot is given away in this book. I mean, it could be part of book 1, not a tragic LOT happens...
I do recommend reading it if you read book 1 and liked it; it has the same vibe and it flows quickly and pleasantly... I can't wait to find out what happens in the end!

ps. The more I read the series, the more I find many similarities with the Premonition series...

This was a good follow up to the Guardian as Genesis goes Buffy the Vampire Slayer and starts to physically train! Her romance with Seth stays solid, which was good because I hate the stories where they constantly profess their love for each other yet somehow they are unsure how the other feels....BLAH!!! None of that here, but I do like how Carter gets a more active role in this story and I like how him and Genesis form a more solid friendship and learn to lean on eachother while obtaining a platonic relationship. Their is a lot of drastic changes in this sequel as Genesis learns to cope with a lot of loss while she grows into an even more mature adult learning to help the angels defeat the demons who are causing their town to enforce a curfew as a "serial killer" goes around killing innocent people! I love the way Vendetta ended and I am desperately awaiting the next installment in the Guardian trilogy!!

After the fire, Genesis’ life fell down around her. She stood there watching. Now, living in Carter's pool house, things are much more awkward than they used to be... especially since Seth is kind of living there too. This isn't just about Carter and Seth anymore though, it is about revenge.

Genesis is constantly looking for Viola- she deserves to pay for what she did. The only thing Genesis can do now is wait, and prepare for the inevitable. Genesis might be the one that falls this time.

My Thoughts: Wow, this book was hard-core. My jaw dropped at more than one part- but I kept me interested, and I flew through this book (when I has moments to read). There really isn't much else to say besides- read this book! If you liked the first one, you will like this more. I recommend this book to those who liked Reckless Magic and its sequels.

Wow Vendetta was intense and oh so good! Genesis kicks some major booty. She's growing up and discovering more about herself and her abilities. I love Seth. He's even more swoon worthy in this book than in The Guardian (I didn't think that was possible). Carter has really grown on me. He's such a sweetie. Joshua is hilarious.

I really like Vendetta, but man, oh man, can you say cliffhanger?! I can't wait to find out what happens.

Reading this book was like watching a movie, especially towards the end. I liked the description of every part, especially the vital ones. Seth and Genesis seem to be fighting a losing battle. In the war between good and evil it seem like evil will stop at nothing to win. Even tear Seth and Genesis apart if they can.

I didn't want to put this book down once I started it. Highly recommend this book. Can't wait to read book three.

I wasn't sure where Genesis's story was going, but the new Guardians and Diabols were an exciting addition. Usually I have a pretty good idea where a story is going to lead and who is going to end up with who; but I am honestly not sure what is going to happen with Genesis. I did, however, think that there was much better character development in this second book and I enjoyed it much more than the first book, "Guardians."

So glad that's over

The first book in this trilogy was okay. This one drove me crazy. Genesis drove me crazy. Not enough action. It was pretty much a snooze-fest. I may read the next one but no time soon. I have to read something good to get this taste out of my mouth.

I tried so hard to enjoy this series. I just couldn't get into it. The concept was decent but the characters just didn't speak to me.
