How do you share the gospel with those who believe it’s their mandate to evangelise to you?
Mormons are eager to talk about their faith with anyone who will listen, so encounters with them are a great opportunity to discuss what the Bible really says. But if we’re not familiar with their beliefs, it can feel safer to avoid these conversations, and we can miss out on the chance to share the true gospel with them.
Tony Brown spends his time conversing with and evangelising to those caught in New Religious Movements. In this thorough guide to sharing the gospel with a Mormon, he lays out the foundations of the Mormon faith and explains how their doctrines are not reconcilable with the Bible, despite their claims. He does so with a great love for Mormons, concluding that they are a lost people who need to hear the true gospel.
If you’ve ever wondered how to share the gospel with a Mormon, then this book will give you the practical knowledge you need to start those conversations and point Mormons to the Jesus of the Bible.

I would recommend this book to anyone who does not know much about how to interact with Mormons. Brown does a good job of explaining the basics of the religion and how Christians should interact with a Mormon. Throughout the book, Brown includes tips and questions to ask Mormons in a dialogue. My favorite chapter was his chapter on how to expose the inconsistencies of their theology utilizing their texts.
This is a great place to start if you’re curious about Mormon doctrine and how we can effectively guide them to the biblical Jesus. Brown did a great job of giving an overview of what Mormons believe and why as Christians, we should desperately be trying to point them to the truth!
As the old hymn goes, "they'll know we are Christians by our love." Tony Brown starts and ends this book with the conviction that he loves Mormons and yet he does not love Mormonism. In fact, driven by a Christian love, because Tony loves Mormons he cannot love Mormonism. This book is a great concise description of how to engage with Mormon friends, neighbors, and missionaries in a winsome way to declare to them the true gospel of Christ found in the Bible. If you want to more clearly and lovingly communicate with Mormons around you, pick up a copy of this book!
I appreciated how concise and easy this was to read. Definitely not a deep dive into the Mormon faith but it’s inevitable we’ll be approached by Mormon missionaries and this offers some quick background and tips to help share the gospel with a better knowledge of where th er are coming from.
The author offers a short comprehensive overview of LDS teachings(Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, prophetic revelations, ect)while providing thoughtful strategies for engaging in respectful dialogue that guides conversations toward the biblical gospel of Jesus Christ. I highly recommend!
So so interesting. Just what I wanted. I didn't really know anything about Mormons beforehand and have always wanted to learn more. This short book was enough to learn lots about Mormonism and learn about how to effectively share the gospel in a way that is kind a loving.
Great introduction to evangelism with those in the Mormon church. Good guarding against errors in evangelism and a great presentation of the gospel. I especially loved the long list of trinitarian verses, as I did not notice the vastness of verses that had all of the Godhead explicitly mentioned, though I knew the verses. Easy to read and good survey of topics but a little all over the place at times. What especially stood out when reading this along with a recent conversation with LDS missionaries, is the terrible doctrine that the Father, or Heavenly Father only dwells in the Celestial Kingdom, one that is impossible to reach but what every dedicated LDS aspires to. I feel as Paul did for the Jews in Romans 9 and want my friends to know the love of the Father and the sufficiency of Christ to bring us to Him.
"Sharing the Gospel with a Mormon" is a fantastic read, giving clear and thoughtful insight into the history and beliefs of Mormonism and how it compares to Christianity. While educating you, Tony fills the book with tips and questions to engage well with a Mormon in conversation. This book is a valuable tool in sharing the Gospel and I feel significantly more open and prepared to have conversations with Mormons after reading it!
Concise overview with helpful references, tips and suggestions for sharing the gospel with Mormons. Helpful warnings included so we don't unneccessarily offend or close the door of opportunity. You may be familiar with the content if you've read any larger books on Mormonism, but this stands out for its evangelistic focus. An excellent starter book if you're unfamiliar with Mormonism.
Very brief and to the point. Does a good job equipping you with background beliefs that are held by the LDS Church while using scripture both from the Book of Mormon and the Bible to point out their flawed logic. Covers material very quickly, would recommend reading through the book a couple of times if you intend on trying to exercise any of it’s arguments in an effective way.
An excellent resource for learning more about Mormonism and specific ways it contradicts the truth of Christianity. Would recommend to anyone interested in learning more and being more confident in how to share Jesus in a loving way to this group!
Detailed the stark contrasts between Mormonism and Christianity. Clear distinction between why Mormons act certain ways, how they believe God will save them, and how that differs greatly from the message of the Bible. Quick read, but one that I will be referencing back to frequently
Really helpful overview of what Mormons believe and how that differs from the Bible's teachings. The text layout and little tip boxes make it an easy read with lots of practical application.
Really helpful intro to LDS theology and how to show its contradictions with Scripture. Would recommend to anybody as they come across Mormon missionaries!
