Don’t believe us? Here’s what readers have to

As a beginner, this approach appealed to me more as a reader and made learning more engaging. Having the furigana above the kanji and katakana characters also hit a really strong point in getting me as a reader to read more consistently and follow the story without worrying too much about figuring out a character because seeing the hiragana version helped me remember kanji I'd seen earlier in the story. I really like the stories and the lessons behind them, it makes reading and learning enjoyable.

Stories are good and have а hidden message at the end, which leaves readers to think about. The kanji difficulty is suitable for readers N5/N4 level.

I feel that this is the sort of resource I have always wanted as I look for ways to learn Japanese through reading.

Such fun stories.

You always start out like a child when you’re learning a language. And you need to read and read and read to increase both your comprehension and output. BUT, while your language level might be that of an infant, that doesn’t mean your tastes are!

These stories are easy to read for beginners, but just as importantly, they’re fun to read for adults! The illustrations matter too, and these are sweet.

The aim here is to read smoothly, to grasp the meaning of the story without struggling or stopping to look things up in the dictionary. If you choose the right level, it should be easy in a good way. A pleasure rather than a fight to understand. There’s a time to stretch yourself, but this is meant to encourage you to read for pleasure - to enjoy being able to read in Japanese!

I find these especially relaxing before bed.
