To feel acceptance, love…how far would you go? She crossed a line and now she’s in their world.

Aubrey Jane Garcia: smart, focused . . . innocent?
Academically gifted and painfully aware of her lack of sexual experience, Aubrey knows her acceptance into Columbia University will mark a defining moment in her life. But after swapping small-town California for New York City, Aubrey wakes up dazed in a stranger’s bed. Was she drugged? Assaulted? Or Saved from a fate much worse?

She arrived in New York determined to find herself, though what she found was a world of sex, drugs, and undeserved notoriety, built on the preconceived realities of those around her. Now she has no idea where fantasy begins and reality ends.

All she wanted was to fit in.

Noah Charleston: jaded, stubborn . . . gentleman?
Heartbroken and alone after the loss of his one true love. Would he ever love again? The thought couldn’t be further from his mind. Until her. Now complicated feelings are involved, hidden pasts are coming to light, and he soon finds himself facing a new kind of heartache—one rooted in gossip, addiction, and the darker side of sex. Is it love, or has his relationships been built on a lie?

Only one thing’s for sure: Noah and Aubrey must break free from societal expectations and the sinister game they’ve unwittingly found themselves playing. Even if that means sacrificing more than just a reputation.

The author was very kind to send me this story.
It’s a sweet story, but i had a hard time keeping up with how the FMC thought. I found that her emotions were jumping around too much, almost to the point where it didn’t make sense to me.
The writing was good, certain parts I found myself noticing the writing being the best way to put it “over complicated” like as if it was over detailed & there were words that I feel like could have been simplified to keep me hooked in the story.

The whole part of the fmc wanting to lose her virginity also threw me off a little. Like she had zero self confidence but when it came to losing her virginity she almost gained the confidence in the matter of minutes.

I wish I ended up liking this book more but unfortunately that wasn’t the case.
This is just my opinion if you’re interested in it definitely read it but it just wasn’t my cup of tea.

TIED TO YOU by Jer'tarme Williams is the story of Noah and Aubrey. Both had to get past a lot of issues. Aubrey wasn't very confident and need reassurance in a lot of things. Sometimes her inner voice wasn't making the right choices and put her thoughts where the didn't need to go. Noah was working through his lost love and I felt self hate. They both came together and started putting their pieces together I thought. I believe this is a first time book for this author. So, I do think this book will have room to grow but I not sure of anyone who gets anything 100% the first time. I do hope to read more from this growing author.

I won this book in one of the Goodreads giveaways and I really enjoyed it. The growth between the two main characters was really nice to see, although I feel like Aubrey was wildly immature/naive at times, but I mean she's 17 so can't hate on her too much.

Noah is just the sweetest. End of story.

I could see bits and pieces of the conflict brewing together and it was nice seeing it developed and ultimately dealt with.

For a debut novel, this was great and I can't wait to see where her writing journey takes us!

No no no.

Why was I told this was a dark romance? Why was it in the dark romance section of the shop I got it at? Absolutely not. I may have finished this in a day but that’s because I had nothing better to do and one of my 2025 goals of the year was to DNF less books than 2024. I couldn’t start off the year on the fourth day and my fourth book by making it a DNF.

Absolutely not. Nope. Like it was alright I suppose but in parts, my god it was confusing! Like were there bits that were cut out in the editing stage ? Gosh.

Jer'tarme wrote a story so steeped in reality!

Real life issues that plague more than a few I fear!

How parents can teach their children self-confidence is huge! I think so many issues would not become reality for this!

We need to give parents or teachers the tools!

Sometimes real life does need to come to the forefront and this author did that well!

I was very kindly sent Tied to You and I’m grateful that I had the opportunity to read it. I really did enjoy it and I think it was very well written. I can definitely see the purpose behind writing it - it raises some important topics and Jer’tarme has done a great job at shedding light on them.

I'm not sure how I feel about this book. The subject matter is a little disturbing but good to talk about and bring awareness around the situation. I did read this pretty quickly as I wanted yo get to a hopefully happy ending. I was not disappointed.

It took me a little while to get into this. Both characters had personal struggles. The angst was good.

First of all, as always, I know the author before the book was revealed and she is an amazing person, she DM'ed me to offer me an ARC of her book and I was very happy to do so.

However, I couldn't continue the book, I DNF'ed at 30% but it's not because of the writing, her writing style was actually very good and fast based, sure she had some editing to do but she is a self-published author and as a first book, its amazing.

Now the reason why I DNf'ed, was because the character had no self-confidence, and she was always looking at other people and comparing herself to her cousin Eleanor, who is a rich spoiled kid who only cares about sex and partying. The main character Aubrey was so insecure about herself it was annoying a little, because she literally have no personality and all she cared about is not disappointing her cousin Eleanor. The thing is, that "I don't want to disappoint Eleanor" is in every other chapter, and I was just sick of it, like you are in NY nobody cares about where you are from and if you have money or not.

One thing that pissed me off the most is that Aubrey "wished" her mom to be like her rich aunt, her aunt who is married to a rich guy and has money to afford all the cloths and makeup that she has, like girl, you parents are not rich, and she kept saying that they didn't have money, so how can you wish for your mom to be like your aunt?!

Another thing that pissed me off is that she was about to get assaulted and all she could think about is Eleanor and how she embarrassed her Infront of her friends, like come on girl!! like you were about to get raped and this is all you could think about?

What I liked the most is the relationship between Noah, Mitch, and Corey. Their friendship was so beautiful, they were like brother, and I felt so bad for Noah when he talked about him mom. (Noah is the MMC.) And him having his boys with him was very heartwarming.

THIS IS MY OPINION, this book was not the best, and its not the worst, the reason why I DNF'ed was really because of the FMC, I couldn't with her, she was just too much, however, I did like the MMC, he was fine and nice, my problem was again with the FMC Aubrey. I did enjoy the book at some point though!

Don't let my review stop you from reading the book, you might enjoy the book more than I did, again this is my opinion on the book. And if you find this book interesting, then give it a chance.

I just want to thank the author for the ARC, and I hope that my review wasn't harsh.
