A Stolen Voice

Rate this book
Riverdale meets fairy tale in this edgy, seductive twist on the age-old stories you think you know.

When Penny Zale vanishes from the psychiatric hospital where she’s being held against her will, only her chopped-off braid and cryptic letters remain. If her friends—Raven, Aarya, Dawn, and Elle—have any chance of finding Penny, they must enter a world where money and power mean everything, and life is expendable.

The lies that built Everbeach run deep, and someone is willing to do anything to keep them hidden. The girls believe Penny’s letters point to her ex, big sugar heir Logan Steele. When Raven tries to get close to Logan to gather information, she finds herself fighting a dangerous attraction to the magnetic billionaire.

Everything begins to unravel when Aarya discovers Raven has been keeping secrets. Raven’s painful past of anxiety and addiction causes her to spiral, and everyone, including Raven herself, starts to question her version of reality. As threats and attacks ramp up against the friends, they must decipher what happened to Penny before they’re the next to disappear.

Scandalous secrets, deadly twists, and forbidden love make this series perfect for fans of Inheritance Games, Thousandth Floor, and Pretty Little Liars.

Absolutely loved this one!!! (As a big Punkaj fan, I was so happy to see more of him and watch Aarya chase her music career dream with Little Mermaid undertones). Dawn grew on me as well since we got to see half of the book on her POV (rooting for her and Grayson, even as charming as Keenan was).

Okay! Never have I ever finished a book in one day! Usually I get distracted by something and I break my reading streak. However, I could not put A Stolen Voice down! I finished A Stolen Voice in one day!

I loved character development between Dawn and Aarya. You continue to see their growth and ambition to make things right even for people they hardly know. Keenan was my favorite new character. I’m hoping he will make another appearance in a future book. 🤞

Everbeach is 2/2 with their first two books. I cannot wait to see what shenanigans the friend group will get into next. I still have some lingering questions that I need answers. 🧐

The mystery and suspense was just as good as book 1. I loved getting Araya and Dawns pov and the change of atmosphere to Jamaica was perfect. I loved Dawns character development throughout the story and I also loved getting more of Araya and Punkajs relationship, their banter is so fun. A wonderfully written story that I didn’t want to put down.

I loved the second book in the Everbeach series. I want the Little Mermaid character to be my friend.
This book had a new location, some new characters and so many new questions about the mystery they're trying to solve. I could not put it down.

An exciting continuation of the Everbeach series! Book #2 of the Everbeach series is packed with adventure, romance, suspense and exciting twists! Dawn and Aarya travel to Jamaica where they meet some intriguing new characters and continue to uncover the shady dealings of the Steele Sugar Industry while pursuing Aarya's dream to become a singer. This book is action packed in a fun and exotic new location with exotic new love interests! The authors have a true gift for writing fantastic endings to their books- it leaves you satisfied without frustrating cliff hangers but eager to read the next one!! Can't wait for book 3!

Casual flings and ending up with wrong guys/people during the "space in relationship" phase - I don't feel at ease, even if it's just in the book! And that's why more than half the time, I was hoping for everything to just stop and Punkaj and Grayson to barge right in and do what they're supposed to.. be there for their girls!

But the way the story turned out, one a$$###€ to be exactly the person I thought he'd be, and the other one - oh! the other one😍 - I'm glad Keenan wasn't what I was hoping he's not.. the way he helped them every step of the way, the way he saved the day.. and most importantly - how he respected their boundaries with Dawn on knowing about her relationship status.. he left me totally swooning.. and even more so afterwards, when he revealed his real identity! Like... OMG!!!!!

The best thing - what I loved most in this book is how both the author's described the richness of their cultures, both Indian and Jamaican! And being a proud Indian myself, I absolutely loved to see Aarya embracing her ethnicity, including Indian musical notes in her song, and her decision to perform in a sari! The look on Punk's face, he's behaviour around her - it was so endearing!!

In A Stolen Voice, the second book in the Everbeach series, the setting changes as half of the foursome of heroines from Red and Blood travel to Jamaica over winter break. It felt weird that Raven and Ella were absent from most of this installment, yet there was a lot for the reader to be invested in with Aarya and Dawn in Jamaica, between the lingering mysteries developing from the first book, to their individual subplots. Aarya working to grow her music career via collaboration with a global pop star, while trying to figure out her feelings for him, and his own confusing intentions, was fun to read. Then there's Dawn, who's on a mutually-agreed-upon break with her longtime boyfriend, and is trying to parse through her feelings for that relationship while being undeniably drawn to a guy she's just met in Jamaica. The love triangle does not feel cliché or cheap, and it's written in a way where there is honestly no obvious choice.
By the end of the book, I was looking forward to seeing what happens next for these characters when they got back to Everbeach, especially Dawn.
