Duane Boehm has written another western novel with enough humor, heartbreak, love, and outlaws to keep you turning the page.
Duane Boehm grew up on a farm outside of Petersburg, Illinois. All the time spent driving a tractor gave him plenty of opportunity to let his imagination run wild and not tear up too much equipment. The two passions he developed early in life were the love of playing guitar and reading books.
He eventually moved to a mini-farm outside of Murfreesboro, Tennessee with his wife and replaced planting corn with trees and raising dogs. For a number of years he worked as an IT consultant and continued with being a part-time musician and songwriter. He dabbled in writing short stories with the idea in the back of his mind that someday he would write a novel. One Christmas after watching "A Christmas Carol", he was inspired to begin his journey as a novelist.
Duane and Forrest grabs your undivided attention immediately, and it never falters!
Most definitely another five star masterpiece by Mr. Boehm, as this excitingly series of unending adventures will certainly keep you turning pages from beginning to end! Some of the most exciting storylines I have had the opportunity to read, and I have read a lot in the past few years! No slow down in this excitingly series of unending adventures! Too, the outstanding character selections are unsurpassed in their respective roles throughout the entire series of ongoing excitement! Most definitely recommend this excitingly series of legendary old American western culture! These two guys create their own music to dance by, with each new adventure, and they don't take a backseat to anyone throughout their respective western world! You non western fanatics will find yourselves unable to put Duane and Forrest aside until the final episode is fully absorbed!!!😄
Deacon Rader and Forrest Russo go all the way back to their army days. Now they make a good living selling axes to miners. When they sell the business to go visit their army buddy, William, in Cheyenne, they get plenty of action. William has been arrested for a murder he couldn't possibly have commited. the sheriff is honest but has had no luck finding the real killer. Lots of good investigating for Deaon and Forrest. Seems Deacon can't let injustice stand and this isn't the only one he helps solve. Very good!
I'm not a Western fan, but this book kept my attention from the first page right through to the end. I was getting worried that there wouldn't be a resolution and I'd have to wait until the next book (if there was one) to see how Forrest's and Deacon's story ends. Even though one part of the story was wrapped up in the end, I'd would be happy to read more about Forrest, Deacon, and the other characters again, as there's definitely more story that can be told.
Another great book by Duane Boehm. This was sad, funny and heartbreaking. Super great storyline and charters. Have read all of this authors books and have never been. disappointed. Would highly recommend this book and all others he has written to all that enjoy a great western.
This is one of my favorite books by D. Boehm. I enjoyed it so much that I'm going to have my wife read/listen to it. She is a permanent resident in a nursing home because of a massive stroke. She can no longer hold a book and turn pages so I purchased her an I-pad and she can listen to the book and follow along if she wants too. You need to read this one.
I have read everything big D has written! Every story every step of the way! I just can't wait for his next personal email , announcing his newest! My friends, if this is your genre! You need to go back and read every dagnab book my friend has written! Soon you also will be waiting for the next!
War does things to men...in the case of Deacon and Forrest it made them more than friends or partners, it placed them in a brotherhood with each other that nothing could separate. Through adventures thick and thin this is a great story of each one finding themselves and satisfying some wanderlust as well. Definitely a good read.
It’s seems impossible that each and every book that I read written by Mr Boehm can be as equal or more enjoyable than the last as this one has been. He truly is a remarkable “Western Classic” author. I would truly encourage for all to read this interesting saga and others that he has authored. Thank you.
This was an exceptionally well written story of a good man realizing he was missing out on something but didn't know what. The search is a very good story which will warm your heart and reinforce your sense of right and wrong. I loved and will read again some day.
Duane Boehm is a new-to-me author and I thoroughly enjoyed this western. The story had lots of twists and turns, an excellent plot, and all the required action. The very best thing about the story, however, was the development of the characters as the tale unfolded. I will certainly be looking for more work from Mr. Boehm.
Two men partners since meeting as boys during the civil war suddenly decide on changing their lives, sell their store and stop in Cheyenne where they find adventure.
They are very entertaining. He has a way to keep you interested. I find it very difficult to stop reading. I am sure you will enjoy this novel the same as I did. I have two more of his novels that I will be reading.
This was a good story. Character were realistic and we'll defined. I enjoyed book and found it well written. It may have been somewhat predictable at time, but did have some surprises and plot twists. Duane has another good read.
The author has written a very exciting story of friendship and the search for the fulfillment of life as go from one adventure to another. Very enjoyable reading.
Such a great tale! Really enjoyed the ongoing debates between Deacon and Forrest and then between Deacon and Sage. This was a really fun read, mixing in adventure and intrigue. Thank you Mr. Boehm.
As with his other books, the strength of his work is his character development and the associated dialogue. Many interesting characters, enough action, and a solid storyline make for an entertaining read.
